The hostess was friendly. The breakfast was fine. This hotel was sub-standard with regard to cleanliness of rooms. The shower cubicle was not clean, showing black gunge at corners and around edges of tray. The tiles in the shower had mildew on the grout. It was clear that when the door was open, the cleaner did not look behind the shower door to clean. The wooden floor in the bedroom (2) was cracked ie chipped boards. I had to move the bed and dressing table to access sockets for my work. Inside the wardrobes were very dusty and there were quilts and lamps stored in them. The valance on one of the beds was dirty and had not been changed.
Friendly staff All "hardware" i.e room equipment is a bit very old and very basic. One star rating justified, but never three.
The lighting was poor. No bulb in the loo. The room was tatty, the mattress of the lowest quality. There was no obvious heating. V poor.
A very warm greeting on arrival, friendly atmosphere for all of our stay, cleanliness, comfort and excellant food.
Couldn't do enough for you, very flexible and accommodating. a real home from home atmosphere. Very friendly and very clean. Room cleaned daily and towels changed as required.
Great hospitality, clean rooms serviced daily, good breakfast menu.. Beds are getting a little tired
Convenient Location Maybe a little traffic noise but not a big deal really. Double glazing helped.
Nice place to stay and very central No evening meals available
It was very homely, warm and comfortable
We loved the friendliness of the owner and her daughter. They welcomed us warmly and chatted easily about themselves and the area. It was a most wonderful introduction to the country of Ireland.
Homely and friendly No bad points
The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful - he gave us a lift into the village to an excellent pub/restaurant. It is very convenient for Down Royal Racecourse.
The owners, David and Gillian, were absolutely great. They helped us find great restaurants in the area and helped us with directions. The breakfasts were good too. They also let us use their sat nav for our trips around the area. They were the best. It would have been nice to have better wireless connections.
Lovely, comfortable, and spotlessly clean place to stay. The family could not have been more welcoming. The breakfasts were home cooked by the owner, and delicious! The eggs from their own farm on the premises. Loads of advice about the area and places to go.
Excellent service from the staff involved, very friendly, helpful and spent the time of day with you. Room was very comfortable . Could have done with a full length mirror in the room also more coat hooks to allow guests to hang used towels to dry (room slept 4)
Very friendly and welcoming. Facilities first class and as advertised.. Easy to find. Excellent breakfast. Nothing
A great place to stay as it is on the south side of Belfast and any easy drive to Dublin. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Our stay was most relaxing and very peaceful.A Nice walk into the pretty village of Hillsborough.Breakfast was superb.Would recommend Dunhill Cottage without a doubt. Nil
Stayed many times and without exception receive a warm welcome, a comfortable nights sleep and a fantastic breakfast.
Staff very helpful and friendly Plumbing noisy and toilet flush poor
Staff helpful Front room on busy street. Emergency vehicles and shouting in the street during the night.
the staff were lovely, and the breakfast was nice, even though it's unusual not ot have the option of a full irish breakfast in a B&B! Bed was not made up on second day.
I was satisfied with all aspects
The staff were truly lovely -- very helpful and kind. Comfy and stylish decor. Fantastic location.
The hotel and the rooms were very well kept and the whole place had a very stylish feel to it, which was good considering the relatively low price we paid. Very near to the cool Queens Quarter and the lovely Botanic Gardens, although some distance from the town centre. The staff were very friendly helpful. Although the breakfast choice consisted of continental fair, with no cooked option, there was plenty to choose from. There were several minor things that were a little bit disappointing, such as there being a plug socket hanging off the wall which looked pretty dangerous; there was no toilet roll holder: the shower wasn't great (no water pressure): and the door to the room was really tricky to open. As I say, not major things, but added up they all added up. The thing that was most disappointing was the noise! We were at a room at the front of the house which looked onto a busy main road, which at night was so noisy with people leaving pubs and clubs etc that me and my girlfriend found it really hard to sleep. Maybe a little double glazing and moving the bed away from the window would help calm the noise.
Staff very friendly and approachable. location good for university and city centre and not too noisy. Single room very small and bathroom on next floor up.
Friendly, casual and really great sized room. Nice ensuite. Free internet access! Regular easy-to-use buses into the city. I had to leave too early for the included breakfast but the dining room looked nice and the owner offered to pre-prepare me some cereal and juice the night before instead. Not the Hotel's fault but an issue for the area in general - there are some pubs nearby and I stayed Saturday night and when the pubs shut there is a fair amount of noise on the street by exiting patrons. Fortunately I was too tired to care and slept OK anyway.
Pleasant walk into the city centre. Plus the open-top tourbus stops nearby!! Close to pubs that can be a bit noisy at the weekend.
i love the staff , the people were so nice and friendly and always there to help. i liked everything and i hope to be back in march and stay in the same guesthouse again.
