Pros: The staff was very friendly. The hotel was very busy. The girl's State UIL 4A Golf Tournament was being held in Kyle. Even with the busyness of the place the breakfast was well stocked, also delicious. The eating area was large enough to accommodate the large crowd!! Just a great experience.

Cons: Perfect
9.3 Excellent
Pros: My husband loved the bed. He said it was better than our bed at home which he says is the best bed ever!
Cons: Couldn’t have been better! Keep it up!
7.0 Good
Pros: We have been coming to Sage Hill Inn/Inn Above Onion Creek for over 15 years. It is usually such a great getaway experience for couples. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the setting is beautiful and peaceful.
Cons: Breakfast and dinner have always been included in the cost, and since they are usually delicious, and the Inn is far from any restaurants, it's usually worth it. However, on this visit, the food was awful. I don't know what's happened. Since you pay a significant up-charge for the meals over a regular hotel or B & B this is extremely disappointing. In addition, the obnoxious practice of presenting you with a "bill" for your dinner has been introduced so that a gratuity can be collected, and now some menu items incur an upcharge. Example: you can only have scrambled eggs for breakfast. If you want them boiled, fried, etc. that's $6. It's funny how these little things have changed an experience that used to make us feel so catered for to making us question whether it's worth it to pay $500 a night for this place. Getting a fake bill that your sub-par dinner was $100 to get a gratuity for the staff does introduce that question, and on this visit, it was resoundingly - no. In addition, over the past few years, the Inn has added additional properties that cater to large groups. On this visit, we had to deal with not one but two "girls getaway" groups who were staying in the other properties but yet dominated the pool and porches at the inn with loud and obnoxious conversation and behavior day and night. This used to be such a peaceful and serene retreat and it is no longer that way. As we were leaving, we noticed more outlying properties being built - hideous little cabins that look like single-wide trailers. There is no doubt that as the Inn expands the pool and the property will get more and more crowded and this will make it less and less an enjoyable experience for anyone who really wanted a getaway. I can't recommend this place anymore due to these issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location.....quiet, scenic and great food. A perfect hill country get away
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent and the Maurice,s coach house was very nice and romantic.
Cons: For the price it should truly be all inclusive. The up charge on the dinner menu for the steak and charging extra for beer and wine was in poor taste after charging 500 per night to stay. We felt a bit robbed in that area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The area and ambiance, the staff was cordial and inviting.
Cons: Would have been nice if the breakfast was offered a little longer - but it was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, great restaurant and spa. We had a very relaxing weekend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed amazing views of the hill country in this property and the cottage offered a lot of privacy. Dinner was really good, with several options to choose from. We had 2 dinners in our stay and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. The local garden vegetables were indeed very fresh and tasty. The cottage was well equipped -- binoculars to see the wild birds that live in the property and mosquito repellent to keep the not so nice wildlife at bay.
Cons: Breakfast - after the dinner experience, we expected so much more. No freshly squeezed juice, no fresh fruits except for tasteless cantaloup and processed bread the kind that you buy in plastic bags... Very disappointing. Mattress and pillows - both way too soft... even two pillows did nothing to keep my head up.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Martin room and had the most incredible views of the sunset! Our pictures can’t do it justice! It was so relaxing to sit on the porch and soak in the outdoors.
Cons: I’m not sure if we missed this in the listing, but the all inclusive meal package only covers breakfast and dinner. If you plan to stay on the property for the entire day, be sure to contact the office for lunch options ahead of time! It does come at an extra charge, but you can only take advantage of this if you arrange prior to your stay!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast waffle was in the shape of Texas and they had a blueberry option, which was great. The hotel room was clean and quiet. It was overall nice with exception of the check in process.
Cons: The hotel staff were sitting at tables to the left of where we walked in. They heard us talking in the lobby and continued to sit for about 5 minutes before getting up and asking if we had been helped. There was someone that was in the office that poked her head out, but didn't knowledge us in this time too. The hotel was nice, but that was my first interaction with the hotel and I would probably not book it again based on the poor customer service alone.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good customer service Christina very pleasant
Cons: Odor in Hal way and entrance to side door
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to some store & restaurants (within walking distance). Good breakfast options.
Cons: The hairdryer was useless...barely blowing air out.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Rooms were really small for them to have 2 QUEEN SIZED BEDS! Also the headboards of the beds had nasty drips and handprints on them. Very small pool. Wouldn't reccomend going to the pool if traveling with a big group because other guests tend to take over the WHOLE ENTIRE pool!! Lady was rude about my dog even though she was good and wasn't bothering anyone she was minding her own business. The worker wanted to move me and my husband to another room because she said that the rooms next to ours complained about the noise, when first of all my dog wasn't bothering anyone as soon was we got her set up in the room she fell asleep and second of all the rooms next to ours was my own FAMILY! In conclusion this place isn't really worth it.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Its quiet
4.5 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was fair.
Cons: Each area had a different awful smell. Poorly built. Found hair in the bath and the floor was dirty. Table was sticky.

Pros: It was clean and very nice.
Cons: The room was infested with fleas
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location and the staff are friendly.
Cons: The pool was very cloudy. I was looking forward to being able to swim in a pool but didn't. The room smelt like mold. The air filter was so dirty I had to wash the tub out from all the black stuff on filter from washing it off my self. I did so because room 205 was hot. Definitely didn't sleep under blankets just sheet. Also my sons feet turned black from walking in the carpet.

Pros: The desk attendant was really friendly. She made the place seem more homey than I usually expect. The room was huge and very clean. I never felt like I was having a 3-star experience, more like 4!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: There was no desk chair for the desk and I use this in every hotel I stay at. As soon as we got in our room and settled my husband went down to see about one. The check in lady was all sweet at check in. Now she played dumb when my husband asked about a chair. She said I don’t know how a chair is not there! Didn’t offer to let us have one from another room, just looked at him. Went down for breakfast, 20 minutes had do not disturb tag on door, took off when we returned. We left for the day shortly after and smiled and said hello to housekeeping just down the hall. We had left a written note on the bed asking for just the bathroom refreshed and left a tip, too! When we returned in the evening nothing had been done to our room. The do not disturb means do not disturb ONLY if it is still on the door. My husband had to go downstairs and deal with the same weird check in lady to ask for towels. Second morning at breakfast the help was standing around talking instead of servicing/ cleaning the breakfast area. Coffee supplies were depleted and the 2% milk pitcher was empty. We had been on a 10 day trip with the last 2 nights at your hotel. Take some tips from the Best Western in Boerne. That hotel had fantastic staff that cared and it showed!!!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lots of choices-waffles and coffee were good. Tables kept clean-nice atmosphere. Variety of seating options. Staff was helpful and accomodating.
Cons: TV brightness was low and couldn't figure out how to brighten the setting. Blankets were minimal, but was able to get comforters from the office which made things a lot more comfortable. Not a lot of restaurant options in the immediate area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff
Cons: Not cream cheese on breakfast. No wheat bread on breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful design, very clean, great customer service, cozy atmosphere, comfortable bed, great location with easy access on/off highway, excellent overnight stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Service & room were fine
Cons: Booking.com I will never go though them again . If I did not pay for it why did I get a conformation #

Pros: There were two amazing ladies that went well beyond my expectations to provide phenomenal customer service. I cannot remember their names, but I will circle back when I do. Awesome ladies!! Laura was one of the phenomenal ladies, but the one whose name I cannot remember at the moment, loaned me $10 when my credit cards wouldn’t work. I cannot express how grateful I am for that loan because I hadn’t eaten all day and I was having a rough day. Please provide management with my feedback as they truly represent compassion to a degree you rarely encounter. I’m blessed they took care of me.

Pros: Owner was very welcoming and upgraded us to larger room with bigger bed at no extra cost to us
7.0 Good
Pros: Overall our stay was nice. The customer service was great. I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable. I was greeted with a smile and the man at the desk was very helpful and made me feel welcome. The bed was comfortable and everything worked.
Cons: The blanket and sheets could have been cleaner....but we brought our own as that is the norm. It was very hot in the room when we entered but we cranked the ac and it cooled down fairly quick. The train woke me up the first night but I didn't hear it the second night.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a working mini fridge w/ freezer that was helpful to us.
Cons: This is the smallest motel room we've ever been in; my husband had difficulty getting into the bed as it was so near the wall. If we'd had a lot of luggage the size of the room would have been problematic. We stayed two nights; housekeeping left us clean towels, but didn't make the bed. Never had that happen anywhere else before. The man who checked us in didn't greet us and never smiled.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Reasonable price.
Cons: No hot water first morning. No maid service in 3 days. Train traffic across the street created a "My Cousin Vinny" experience all night long.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed OK. Nice fridge.
Cons: 3 night stay and never had maid service, no clean towels until we woke up staff at midnight once to get a couple. No hot water one morning. Very thin walls and train activity across road all night.
