The hotel was absolutelly beautiful, newly renovated, but with much charm, and nestled amongst the vineyards! We had all the modern amenities, free WiFi, gourmet dinner, delicious breakfast served in our room, and beautiful views. Nothing.
The service in the restaurant was terrible. We thought the reception/concierge service and the spa service was great though.
The staff. Check in we were made to feel welcome, the bell boy who took our luggage to our room was kind to our 9 yr old son, the housekeeper who made up the bed for our son and the waiter who assisted us with our choice of wines at dinner n/a
Beautiful and good location
Too far from the centre
gorgeous rooms, quiet, excellent restaurant restayrant busy at weekends, need to be reminded to BOOK a table for dinner
It was in the middle of a vineyard but we did not have a room in the chateau. We were put in a annex attached to the chateau. We thought this was deceptive and would have enjoyed a more traditional room. We had 3 rooms. Upon check in, one of the receptionist was not very nice. They demanded we book dinner reservations right away. The flowers and grounds were not well kept for such a nice property. Very surprised it was not well maintained.
Amazing castle and good service. We stayed at the vignoble house (vineyards view - outstanding !), rooms have just been redecorated with excellent taste. Peaceful and relaxing stay Air conditioning was not working properly and unfortunately this made our stay very uncomfortable (not sure I will return because of this point)
The physical appearance, rooms, facilities were very beautiful and comfortable. The dinner was excellent. The location was perfect for our plans. The staff for breakfast service was inadequate. The spa staff was not apparent. The jacuzzi, steam room, and hamman were not working properly.
The staff and their engagement to please the customer, great location of the property, spa open on sunday
Breakfast was fine. The room was too noisey, no double glazing on windows and the room was on the most busiest road I have ever stayed on. We got virtually no sleep. We asked to change our room but the Hotel was fully booked. I would not recommend this Hotel because of this. Pay the extra money and stay in Bordeaux or in St Emillion.
The staff is very friendly and speak English. Its the very helpful staff that makes this hotel better than just a budget hotel. The location is perfect if you are driving here. We felt it was very well located with very safe parking. The restaurant was closed the whole time we were there but the pool was opened. The restaurant and reception area was very beautiful. The Internet worked very well and the tv did too. The cleaning staff did a good job too. Our room had a beautiful view out to the vineyards. The whole hotel is a bit run down everywhere, from boards missing from the reception celling, to paint missing in the pool, to mold around the sink and mirror of the room. There are huge spots and stains on the rugs everywhere and the tiles of the bathroom all look moldy and dirty. There is no curtain in the bathroom.
Dining room was excellent - a very personable waiter - exceeded all that could be expected of him!!
Friendly and helpfull staff. Good parking and easy to find. Clean rooms. We were very dissapointed to be told that the restaurant wasnt open in the evening as this was one of the reasons I booked this hotel.
It was the only one available for the dates that I needed. It was not by choice. I liked the fact that it has a restaurant and an outside terrace It needs a major overhaul/renovation. Cleanliness is not their strong point.
The friendly and helpful staff are excellent, and a credit to the organisation. The dining room and the food were also excellent. Sometimes the traffic noise is more than noticeable, especially at night. A room on the side of the hotel away from the road may be an improvement.
It's seen better days - the hotel staff were fine but the room was awful - OK if you're slumming it but if you want something decent forget it! There was enough dirt in the track of the window frame to grow tomatoes in. The double bed resembled the grand canyon - my wife kept rolling down into me. The bathroom had no shower curtain and the water went everywhere - most ran through the hole under the bath, the floors were stained in the corners and the bathroom door had chunks missing off the bottom. There were also a couple of chunks of plaster missing off the bathroom walls. - it was Bleak!! I have stayed in hotels all over France for many years and we have had a couple that were bad - this was a poor one that needs desperate refurbishment
Did not try the pool or the breakfast. At least there is free wi-fi. Lobby was good if you want to relax with a bottle with friends. Cheaper than St.Emilion, and there is a disco next door. rooms need renovation, as there was rust spots everywhere in the bathroom. Towels were a bit threadbare.
Friendly staff and excellent meals. Need to be better sign posted from the road. Tea making facilities in rooms with fridge. Need footpath outside hotel for walking in and out to shops and also St. Emilion.
The quiet of the countryside and the size of our room. Lack of a standup shower and shower curtain.
Just as good as when we sayed three years ago, they remembered us, we had the same room and a splendid dinner with friends who live nearby.
Good value for money. Great food at a good price. Some parts of the hotel smelled of smoke.
I liked the location at the countryside.
Great location for wine touring. Remote.
Quiet nice rooms in a romantic castle in beautiful surrondings. excellent dinners. Bathroom a bit worn down
Without doubt, the secluded location surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and the most beautiful countryside. Not the best in terms of accessibility for physically challenged persons.
wonderful setting in the french country side near to St emellion and Bordeaux good good food and the staff were very helpful, recommended for one or two nights when visiting the region
This place is amazing!!! An old stone chateaux, we stayed in a family room which had heaps of space, the pool is great, beautiful countryside and a 10-minute drive to the beautiful village of Saint Emilion. The chateaux also has a fantastic restaurant with 3-course menus from eur 23 ...excellent value and they servce their own red wine too. One tiny improvement would be to have more lounge chairs around the pool but it's a very minor thing.
The hotel is excellently situated in the middle of the vineyards and fortunately on the satnav and we have because otherwise it might be difficult to find. The evening meal is high quality and well served. The bedrooms have a certain charm and the bed was superbly comfortable. The hotel lacks any sort of bar or seating area so there is nowhere to have pre dinner drinks or coffee after supper except in the dining hall. The breakfast is sparse and the quality not good. For example, the machine coffee is pretty dreadful. It is a beautiful house and would benefit from more love and care. For example, naked bulbs in the dining room, no flowers or, anywhere do not do it justice.
Superb Staff. Location of property near center of town. Suite layout suited our needs. Some of the 'amenities' were not functioning (e.g. Hot towel rack). Top shower head was fixed and directly overhead so you had to wash your hair if used... and the shower wand was not on a sliding bar. he cleaning staff was less than sterling.
view from window did not find staff particularly hospitable. .
Beautiful views from the pool deck, Quiet and Peaceful, Excellent dinner on the back terrace, impressive historical authentic chateau
Beautiful location and property. Very good meal. A nice welcome and good service. Clean pleasant and comfortable room. Steep stone stairs were a bit of an unexpected challenge for my elderly father.
Beautiful hotel and wonderful scenery. No bad points
Beautiful setting in the chateau vineyard. The house itself is very nice with a swimming pool and terrace. Poor reception, no information, no sense of welcome - the staff were pleasant enough but very amateur. The menu does not cater for vegetarians and judging by the reaction to a request, the chef does not want to. We were supposed (I think) to tell them daily whether we wanted breakfast, but we were not told this or in fact anything else which might have been useful. The only information at the reception desk, was focused on what you must not do E.G. You must not wash or iron any clothes in your room (but not how you could get washing or ironing done) ?? There was a quite good swimming pool but when I asked, I was told that they did not supply towels (maybe this was a swimming pool for not swimming in ?) but when pressed, said I could use the towels in the room for the first day only - we then bought our own. The room, which was called a 'style' room, had a broken wardrobe which could not be shut properly, was very pokey and has a toilet which leaks from the water supply if you move on the seat.
