Sense of history No pool are real recreations facilities
Very pleasant, older hotel with nice accommodations, including free WiFi. Appears to need a lot of little thing fixed (windows don't open right, etc). Also, no AC in rooms.
The restaurant was fantastic and the servers knew everything about the dishes and wines they offered. Very warm and friendly, yet professional. The front desk bent over backwards to make sure any and all our questions were answered and that we were well taken care of.
Came here on my birthday with my friend and dog. It was such an amazing stay and the staff was really friendly. My dog really liked the treats in the rooms and the dog bed, water and food bowls where a nice touch. Can't wait to visit again. I didn't know the ghost tour was where you had to buy a ticket in advance, but other than that everything was perfect.
The staff did a great job of attending to our needs No air conditioning made the room very uncomfortable.
Enjoyed the historical atmosphere and that ghost tour. We were surprised by the outside appearance...peeling paint, untended landscaping, and building materials.
The outside is very stately. There are alot of people wandering around who are not guests. There was always something going on.
The staff was very helpful. The facilities did not disappoint!
Beautiful views of the mountains. Convenient walk to downtown Estes Park. Limited bathroom counter space, poor wifi, uninformed concierge, unaddressed maintenance issues .
We took the history of the hotel tour and really enjoyed it. We stayed on the 4th floor and the room was smaller than expected.
The Stanley is lovely: It's comfortable and the location is amzaing. The great staff and elegant ambiance, made it a pleasurable experience.
Most of staff was excellent and hotel is over 100 years old and a very interesting place to stay. Heating is very poor when cold and windy and also found out they do not have air conditioning for summer months.
Very nice. Just remodeled rooms! Great value for our money. Definelftly would recommend. 2 minute walk to estes lake
Amazing hot tub and great playgrounds for toddlers right in the mountains.
Very friendly staff. Rooms are large and clean. Like old time hospitality - had free DVD's and games in the lobby. Nice outdoor pool and large indoor hot tub. Also free bikes. Dogs are welcome with designated outdoor walking areas! We only stayed one night and didn't really need to unpack, but there was only one small dresser in a very large room.
Room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Staff was great from answering questions to helping us arrange activities. We enjoyed the art class too. There are two Murphy's which meant we could use the indoor pool at the Riverside Murphy's, since the pool at Murphy's resort was closed for the winter. Close to the lake So wildlife viewing was easy too. It was not fancy but a good value with everything I needed
Great value for the stay. Also the front desk agents were very friendly and helpful. Overall, no complaints.
nice large room. Very comfortable bed. Nice tub Mediocre continental breakfast and coffee. Did not like that office staff was unavailable at 7 am. We had to give your keys to breakfast staff in order to check out at 7 am.
Our room was great didn't expect what we got and we were very pleased. Peaceful with great views. The staff could have been a bit more friendly. Overall it was well worth and we will go back!
We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Nice central location. Comfortable and clean rooms. Wish breakfast would have been included.
Location to town centre good
The price was good and the on-site restaurant was good. There was a large indoor swimming pool and other games. It badly needs a refresh. Everything was worn and needing replacement (carpet and furniture). It appeared that it could also use a good cleaning, but that could also be from the age of the place.
Overall the staff was very accommodating and very friendly. The views were fantastic and located close to town but not in the middle of it. And the price was good, not great but good... understandably considering the tourist time is pretty short. The room was musty smelling and like a cat urine smell. And the do not disturb sign was ignored by staff. Im appreciative that it was done but the sign was in the door.
Great comfort and service.
Nice location. Clean. They overbooked themselves on Valentine's day and turned us away at the front desk. I had a confirmation number and everything. The rest of town was booked and we had no choice but to drive home on our romantic evening! I don't really understand how/why they did that. Call them and confirm before you go.
Good location Seemed a little tired and could use some updates
Location was convenient Tiny beds, felt run-down
The room was sizable, everything was clean, the view from the 4th floor was decent There was no fridge or microwave, the TV was a bit fuzzy on most channels, front desk staff seemed uninterested and preoccupied when they were around, the bar and restaurant had terrible hours and service
Staff was amazing. Decor was very cool and interesting. There are little touches that made things great such as the sent in the room, the strawberry lime water and coffee in lobby, and the cleanliness. Nothing
SIze of room Location of room Furniture in the room Daily cleaning Amenities in the room
It was a clean, safe room for a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were comfortable. Solid choice if you're planning to spend your time outdoors and want a clean place (with good water pressure!) to come back to in the evenings. It wasn't luxury, by any means, but it was perfect for a clean, safe place to stay.
You get your money's worth here, it's pretty basic, but very clean. We stayed here while hiking up in the National park. The room was cute, we liked how close we to the town and Safeway. We will probably stay here again this summer.
The location--only about 10 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park--was stunning and convenient. From our beautiful room, we could see the sun rise over the snowy peaks of the mountains all around us. The hotel lawn had some deer grazing on it when we checked in, and a herd of elk gathered on the golf course next-door in the morning. The staff was friendly, but we didn't interact with them much because the room was perfect. Cozy and full of mountain charm, but with updated appliances and clean facilities. Can't believe the cheap price!
The location was great. The room was clean and neat. The price was great. The bed was so uncomfortable. Terrible pillows. The shower was awful. You could not adjust the water to maintain comfort for more than 30 seconds. It would go freezing cold or scalding hot. We had to take very brief showers
Clean and friendly staff - good value
Beautifull views from the rooms. Caring staff and clean comfortble rooms. Excellent value, I will be back soon!
Nice large rooms. Nice decor Great location clean An a/c would be nice in the summer
I like the location, and the great staff. I also like the pond right next to the property. Price is good. The heat was turned off which is a smart idea and I appreciate that it was off from an environmental stand point. It would have been nice to have a reminder thou since the baseboard heaters take a while to heat up those rooms.
Good location. Lighting in bathroom sink area too dim.
Location Very dated furnishings, wall outlets that don't work, no coffee.
The staff was really great and professional. Clean invasive and outside the rooms.
Nice place and free breakfast too. :-))
Not that I didn't like it but there was so much to do in Estes that by the time we got back to the lodge, the pool was about to close. I only wish it would stay open until 10:00 p.m.
FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE DOWNTOWN AREA TO FEEL LIKE A SECLUDED RESORT, YET CLOSE ENOUGH TO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO IN ESTES PARK. THE BALCONIES, AT LEAST ON THE FRONT SIDE OF THE HOTEL WERE NOT SEPERATED. SOMEONE FROM ANOTHER ROOM COULD WALK RIGHT INTO YOUR ROOM IF YOUR DOOR IS OPEN ENJOYING THE WEATHER.
Was in Estes for a horse show & three of us shared a room which was big with comfortable beds-the perfect place for crashing after a day of showing. Shower was terrible-came out at a trickle-which made it difficult for three equestrians with long hair!
Room was very up to date. Reminded me of a Marriott Bed was extremely comfortable, with very luxurious bedding and headboards Had a kitchenette which is a very nice feature. Kitchenette and Bathroom countertops were granite. Had a gas fireplace with very nice stonework. The continental breakfast was incredible. They had everything you can think of. Lots of food and drink options. Pillows were very firm. I prefer soft Thats really the only thing I didn't like.
We have stayed here before. The rooms are always clean. The staff friendly. Great veiws very clise town and the lake.
I really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The beautiful green trees and the tasty and healthy food. Not close enough to adventures.
Friendly staff. Nice view. Nice grounds. The bed was small as was the bedroom. The room was updated but many maintenance issues.
Comfortable beds/pillows. Complimentary: DVD movie selection from the lobby, Starbucks coffee and granola bars/snacks available all day, Bottled water, continental breakfast, covered parking, outdoor patios with grills, jetted tubs in deluxe king suites Porch light outside our door could not be turned off to minimize light coming in to our room at night and the mini blinds were insufficient. I just unscrewed the bulb for the duration of our stay. Jetted tubs make lots of noise in adjacent rooms.
location, walking distance to town
Hotel was clean and staff friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room small, had asked for 2 beds and one was a pull down bed leaving no space for luggage.
Loved this little hotel. great location & staff - great view.
Noise: Hotel was very close to main road Climate control did not work
it homey feel room was a little small and lighting was not good in the room
in town viewed a fence from room window---and a noisy air conditioner
Although not advertised, there was a hottub!
The view was terrific from the terrace .Very spacious and clean.Plenty of windows. I had trouble sleeping because it was too warm.We went to bed with the windows open and about 4:00 in the morning the cold air finally made in inside and woke me up.A ceiling fan would have remedied that situation.

I booked a two bedroom unit. The pictures on line do not do it justice. It was far better than I expected. Both bedrooms had king beds with high end bedding and extremely comfortable. The living room area was large and had a gas fireplace.Wonderful.
Room was very clean and updated. Bed was very comfortable. Room wasn't huge, but comfortably fit our 3 person family. It was quiet at night. Great location!! Only 1/2 mile to the downtown area and a few minute drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The owners were very nice and were very helpful in trying to provide us with the room that would fit our family's needs. We decided to stay in Estes last minute and was able to get a room. We will definitely stay there the next time we are in Estes. The price of the room includes breakfast, but the breakfast mostly consists of packaged items like muffins and yogurt. They also had fruit. If you are looking for an actual breakfast selection then you may be disappointed. But with that said, it had offerings that allowed us to feed our baby before heading out for the day.
The room was very nice and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The proximity of the hotel to the main strip of restaurants and shops, as well as Rocky Mountain NP, was perfect. The bathrooms were so small we could hardly use the toilet with the door closed. The breakfast left a lot to be desired (we actually left without it) but it's nice that it's an option, especially if you were with a young family, etc.
The owner was very nice. We had quite a few bugs in the room
The staff was helpful. The room was clean. The noise of the neighbors' air conditioners was annoying.
Older, a bit of charm, not pretentious, not a chain.

Ratio localization vs price The road is close so a bit noisy
Was surprised at how spacious. King size bed was very comfortable and the many soft pillows were great. no
Nice view, clean room, and the staff was very professional. No
It had the Rocky Mountain charm I was expecting. The bathroom appeared to have been recently updated which was nice. I liked having a mini fridge and microwave. There was no safe in the room. The closet went unused during our stay and could have been more square footage in the room if it were opened up.
small number of units. Friendly, clean & comfortable bed.
Proximity to RMNP Steep parking lot, bathroom door wouldn't close, TV awkwardly connected to extension cord hanging in the air.
They allowed us to check in just before 10pm. We were there just long enough to leave and then were off the next morning and out of town. All we had to do was leave the key in a box to check out. It was incredibly quiet. We never heard anyone else! Wish the outlets were in a more convenient place to charge our phones overnight. I had to leave mine on the floor, and my friend had to unplug the coffee maker so we had places to charge our items.
This place has charm galore! My husband and I reserved a 1 night getaway from Denver and it was so worth it! We arrived a bit later than expected but we were able to get in and up to our room. The hotel was putting on a special event "mystery dinner" so we joined in. We had such a blast!! The room was perfect for the amazing Estes Park setting. Bed super comfy and the Claw tub/shower was great too! There was even a full length mirror which is always a must for a lady! It would be awesome if the hotel served breakfast even if it's something to grab and go. We went to the Historic Stanley Hotel for breakfast but we would have much rather preferred to spend our money here for breakfast
The rooms are always top notch and it's great to have a private hot tub to soak in and enjoy the amazing views. wish our hot tub had a little more privacy. Parking is a little bit of a pain when trying to pack everything with a small kid and your car is pretty far away down stairs at altitude.
The view from the porch of the hotel was beautiful and the Estes Park area is wonderful. Very loud hotel hard to sleep. Very much in need of updating.
This place was simply amazing! Rented a deluxe one br condo. It had a big hot in on the patio. The condo was spotless and we'll a pointed for the amount we paid. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for a weekend getaway. Although I'd staying longer we would have liked a bigger fridge and an over instead of just the stove top. The parking situation needs attention. Few parking spots on the back side of property, several spots were filled with shoveled snow.
