Woman showing us to car was awful! I rented the car and did contract at airport, but she would only speak to my husband. Very odd, to only speak to males. I ask to take her name to speak to manager and she took off her name tag and wouldn’t show it to me. I told her I’d take her photo then and she tried to grab my camera. Bizarre! Be careful women! Also did not have car size reserved and had to pay more to upgrade.2.0 Poor

Cons:
First, the counter person was insistent that I had to take the vehicle that they were offering, which was nowhere near what I had requested. They lied to us, saying that they did not have another vehicle, until I told them to cancel the reservation, and went and stood on the Avis line. Then, all of a sudden, another vehicle popped up, miraculously. They still charged the same price, as if a luxury vehicle, and over charged for the insurance. I do not feel that we should have even been charged for the vehicle which I turned in less than 24 hours after getting it. Very bad experience, very poor customer service, not the way to start any vacation.6.0 Okay

I followed your suggestion bought an insurance to cover my rental vehicle at Eurocar rental. The policy number is PL11319420303 of Allianz Global Assistance. But at the rental company, a lady rep. said I have no insurance and almost force me to buy their own insurance. I told her I have an insurance when I booked and paid my contract. She still says I need one , otherwise I will get trouble. Finally, she charged me higher security deposit for did not buy Eurocar own insurance. It is every bad business action to the customers.Ok Mobility

Kayak computed incorrect tax on our invoice. We had to pay another €20 at return. Other than that one thing, everything was perfect. Oh, and one other thing, the directions to return the car need to be a lot more of a step by step type of thing. It simply says return at airport. Uh, yeah. Go to airport. Ok. Then what? Where? This needs to say exactly where one is going. Easy. Small. Needs added. Again, great experience.10.0 Wonderful

Poor functioning car. Low tire pressure. Multiple notices about service which was due. Had to fill one tire 4 times during trip Malaga noted car as no damage. Madrid counted all minor scratches and door nicks and tried to charge me for them. They were aggressive and unfriendly. We were told the car was red and in a certain space number. The car was gray and in a different number and I wonder if they mixed up keys I rent cars frequently and from Hertz and this whole situation and car will steer me away from Hertz and Avis forever.Avis

The “Audi or equivalent” car turned out to be an entry level sedan. The would not honor the insurance I purchased through Kayak and tried to charge me double for their insurance. I ended up walking away from the counter. Horrible horrible experience.10.0 Wonderful

Drop off was confusing. Lady at the counter said that someone in the parking lot will finish my contract up. Gentleman in the parking lot said that's not necessary and that I flcan leave, but he did it anyways. I ended up taking manual in lower class over booked automatic and did not get any refund.Budget

It took me more than an hour to find and deduce that Goldcar was the intermediary of Ace, they had a little sign, hardly visible that said Rodeon. Price with Ace perfect. I decided for an upgrade at Goldcar (Rodeon) and it was ridiculous more expensive. A worthless GPS for 100€!!!. And I had to leave 2000$ for deposit plus €150 for gas, these amounts hopefully I'll get back to my credit card in a week.6.0 Okay

Staff was kind. in the mail "CarRentals.com Car Reservation - Ace Rent A Car Confirmation #CRV9189677" there was not mentioned the REAL car rental company which is was GOLD CAR, this time, we where looking for it more then 30 minits... I bokked the car and paid for the full insurance (11 EUR for each day) by the CAR RENTALs.Com, and payd for the CAR rental but at the GOLD CAR DESK I had to pay more 279,75 EUR, it wa snot mentioned when I booked the CAR on the rental Page.. COBERTURA Super Relax... 128 EUR... the mann at the service desk could not tell why we ned this... just we have to pay it... Especialy for the SMART RETURN... it was not easy to find the CAR KEY return DROP BOX... In that CASE naver again ACE... BR.2.4 Poor

Any good was overwhelmed by the bad, annoying and vacation-stealing problems. See below.Cons:
Did not like taking a number to talk with an agent, but that was the start. 45 minutes later we went to get our car which was parked in a dark garage so we could not effectively inspect for damage. Rude worker responded “Habla espanol” when we asked where the exit was. Three miles into journey the car began to buck and miss when accelerating. Called company and after 1 hour they picked it up leaving me stranded without transportation. Three hours and four calls later a taxi picked me up to take me back to the airport for a replacement car. Almost 2 hours later, after line standing, I got a car that worked, but like it’s predecessor, was parked in a dark garage so again damage inspection was not feasible and later scratches were found that were there before we picked it up. This exchange took most of 1 day out of vacation. Not a happy camper.2.0 Poor

When I rented the car with ACE - there was NO mention that ACE is actually Gold Car in Malaga. When I tried to ask for help, no one knew what I was talking about and had never heard of ACE. I kept showing the confirmation, which clearly had the ACE logo, name and confirmation number. Not anywhere on my reservation did it state that Gold Car was a code partner. This debacle took over an hour to solve after I had to call the office (after waiting on hold for 45 minutes). Finally found the Gold Car pick up desk and was told I had to buy additional insurance, even though I bought insurance through Allianz once I rented the car, which cost an unexpected 150 Euros. The customer service woman at the desk was so unfriendly and clearly hates her job and made for an already frustrating experience completely unbearable. It was very difficult to find the car in the labyrinth of cars in the parking garage. no one was down there to assist. Once I finally found the car, I was shocked to see that it was a manual and not an automatic. Luckily, I know how to drive a stick but I kept thinking that if this were any of my friends, they'd be screwed since they don't know how to drive one. Again, there was no mention of this on the reservation or gave me an option to choose manual over automatic when i booked the car. I booked full insurance online for 72$, yet the guy at the pickup in Malaga said this is not valid and wanted to charge me again for this. I showed him all papers to proof the insurance but he insisted. He also said that he will charge me for 100 Euro as my booking is full tank to empty tank while in the booking it was only 40 Euro. He said they will pay for someone to go and fill it on top of the fuel cost so it adds to 100 Euro. In total instead of paying 112 Euro for my booking, I paid 250 euro and that was after 2 hours of delay, frustration, fights, calls, ...... my worst ever experience in car rental. I reserved a Mercedes SLC (premium convertible or similar car) from economy car rental. When I arrived in Malaga, Spain, I soon discovered that Economy Car Rental didn’t have a kiosk there. They aren’t actually a car rental company, they’re more of a broker. There were no instructions for what to do. So I googled and found a number that eventually put me in touch with a local at “Auto Lido” which was more used car dealership than car rental. When I arrived at Auto Lido, they tried to put me in a Honda Civic. They didn’t have any convertibles available. The swarthy little man who took care of us informed me that he could do a better price if I canceled my Kayak reservation and rented from him directly. None of the prices they showed me were consistent with the Kayak pricing. It was only after I asked to be shuttled back to the airport that they “found” a convertible for me at a discounted price. However, it was a 2011 Puegeot Convertible with about 70,000 miles on it. I only took it because I had prepaid the insurance, they discounted the price and no other rental place had convertibles available. We had made plans to take long drives through the country and along the coast in a convertible. My advice would be to avoid Economy Car Rental.One location in Malaga Airport

There is an extra fuel charge, even if you bring back the car full. Two and a half hour wait at the airport in a very big queue to collect the car.
