Staff was good rooms were clean Our rooms air was off so it felt like it was 100 degrees in the room and took forever to cool
Employees were very helpful and accommodating. Nothing
It had a good location near waterfront Manteo and convenient to Nags Head/Hwy 12 (about a 7 minute drive). The staff genuinely tried to help fix issues but were ultimately unable to resolve. I was traveling for business (I'm a social media manager) and there was no wifi during my four-day stay. I was given multiple reasons why it wasn't working and twice told it was my fault until having to walk down and prove it was their system. At one point I was told it was an island-wide outage, but I had no problem accessing the internet anywhere else on the island. It made my trip more stressful because any downtime that could have been used to work in a comfortable setting had to be spent at a coffee shop or fast food joint. The sheets were low thread count and paper thin. The shower fixtures were rusty and there was a hole in our bathroom door. I just expected more for $170/night. You can stay at the amazing Tranquil House Inn down the road for about $50 more. Next time, I'll pay a little more to stay somewhere with better, updated amenities.
I've stayed for a week so far in the process of a move and couldn't be any happier. The entire place is spotless and pristine. Everything at the daily breakfast has been fresh and tasty and they also always have coffee, herbal teas and lemon water available 24/7 in the lobby by the fitness center. The location is central to all OBX and even walking distance to some. Most importantly, every member of their staff from management to front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, has been above & beyond welcoming as well as incredibly informative on all things local. Would recommend to absolutely anyone from business travelers to families. N/A - all good.
Steve at the front desk was very kind. Great breakfast in the morning
Oceanfront view. Too expensive for the overall clenliness and state of the hotel.
Location and staff were excellent. Beach access very good. AC/heating unit was next to bed and loud. Checked in a 5 and room not ready. First room we were offered had a dripping faucet.
Staff admitted reservation mistake and did their best to make up. However, the group had to split up with a couple staying at a less desirable inn. Staff compensated us with no charge for our room since error was their fault. Had CONFIRMED reservation for TWO rooms for one night. Inn only reserved ONE room and had no other available rooms when we arrived.
The room was spacious and comfortable with extra amenities(microwave, small frig, extra counter space and small sink in room in addition to bathroom). A great value for what we paid. My only proviso is it is not a place for people who have trouble with stairs. No elevator that I saw. But part of the charm is staying in a historic hotel!! I will be staying there in the future if at all possible. Nothing!!!!
Perfect location, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, and the whole facility was just nice and up to date. The water in the shower never really got above what my fiancé and I would describe as "lukewarm", but that was so minor we forgot to tell the front desk. The only other suggestion would be an expanded television channel selection or at least a guide channel of some sort. Again, extremely minor.
The customer service was wonderful. My room was an ocean view room...also wonderful.
View of the pier and location we great. We booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised. This was the most economical option in town for a quick weekend stay. They had a very reasonable pet policy $25 for our dog to enjoy the beach with us. A little dated and but to be expected for price along the ocean and it didn't prevent us from being comfortable.
This was the only place we could find open after a Tropical Storm kept us from getting to our rental on Hatteras Island. We paid over $200 for a room and there was no electricity. The office staff left during the evening and locked the office. This is a $50/night establishment and that is generous. Every other motel in town was booked and there were maybe 5 cars there that night on Labor Day weekend. They should not have even been open with the power off. We stayed there because we had no choice. Please plan ahead and avoid this place.
Clos to the beach Parking
This hotel was conveniently located to fishing access, restaurants and stores. The room was not cleaned prior to us using it and there is no cleaning service if you stay multiple nights so you have to make do with what is there. Door has keypad style locks and the code changed for whatever reason stranding us outside.
QUIET! simple walk to Small Bridge for fishing, more then enough room, great parking! One of the (2) shower heads was not working.
The room was clean, furnishings were new and good quality, if we return next year we will request the exact same room. No one on site to check it with. Had to ask vacationers nearby how to get into room. Instructions painted overhead on garage door--should have been included with reservation confirmation.
Great spot! Right on the water of the inlet, and only a few minute drive from Nags Head's beaches. Nope, not really. I was very pleased with the care that was taken to provide doggy bags, there was a water bowl, there was a fantastic dock with a great view... it was definitely an older building, but you could tell that the caretakers did a good job.
This sweet and simple motel right on the beach was a perfect place to land for a day on the outerbanks. The front desk gave us friendly and good recommendations for places to go. We had a great stay.
Loved the fact that our private beach was through a doorway at the end of the row of rooms! No. We found it to be very comfortable and enjoyed our stay very much. We will go back.
Location. Price for this type of motel on the beach. Housekeeping was helpful and provided items we needed. Bathroom, too small. Bed was too soft
Nothing I can think of that was good. Place was covered with mosquitoes & flies that kept getting in my room. Staff were extremely rude and ignorant and treated me like a convict when I complained about the conditions. I would never go there again & will tell everyone I know not to go there!
The location is spectacular. Directly on the beach The rooms where not cleaned. Found an empty water bottle behind nightstand while checking room before leaving. Air conditioning was not working properly. Smelly room. No microwave, dirty carpet just an awful hotel room. Old mattress. Sheets not crisp
Constant flies, comode wasn't attached to he floor, sink knob was broke, toilet paper holder was broke,n ot ocean front like they said
The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and major roads. The room was relatively clean given the age of the motel. Very bare bones facilities. The place is in pretty bad shape. The comforters have not been replaced in at least a decade. No coffee maker in the room. The windows don't open.
This hotel is located right in the middle of Nags Head in a nice location with ample parking I am a rather large man about 300 pounds the bathrooms in this hotel are nice and clean however they are very small the toilet area barely fit me in to sit on the commode
Love that my pet was welcome :) and the pool. No
Excellent location and 'old school charm' I felt like the room was slightly over priced. And the air conditioner dripped drain water all over the carpet. The hotel was pet friendly which means that some irresponsible pet owners left their dog piles everywhere in the parking lot and grass areas.
Closeness to the beach Small shower
The room was clean and had a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. You could walk to the ocean through an archway. Which was very convenient. The bathroom was very small. It took several minutes for the hot water in the shower to warm up. It did not have room for a bathtub. There were small ants that were crawling around on the nightstand. I found some ants crawling on me at night.
staff was friendly, knowledgeable location was excellent no wifi
location was right by jennettes' pier, perfect. the room is old 1950's but the desk help said they are renovating in october.
