Nicely furnished, and great value.
Imagine the first time you took it in the butt. This was my first time taking it in the butt. I had booked the hotel for a week but had to leave early because of work. The manager, who had an enormous amount of ear hair, would not check me out. In fact he told me that he had checked me out but i found out later that he had just checked me into another room. The internet does not work. The place is not clean. Stay in State College if you have to.
always stay at this hotel because of the business center, I don't travel much and i don't have a laptop, so the business center allows me the use of computer for business and social networking!!!
This hotel did everything a hotel should do, it was clean, comfortable and had an enjoyable little mini Towncenter with a garden, fountain and restaurant
Terrible room and although the front desk confirmed only 50% occupancy, and it was only a one night stay, they refused to change me to a better room. Room window looked into an internal wall and ceiling. Among the worst hotel rooms I have ever styed in. Btw, it was not a highly discounted rate either. It was maybe $10 off the normal rate on the website. Have travellled to State College at least annually for over 30 years. Never used Days Inn State College before, and never will again.
The front desk staff were warm, friendly, and very professional. The adjacent Mad Mex is better than the average hotel restaurant, and you can't beat the location if you want to be on campus in about two minutes (on foot). Parking's a bit pricey, but it's a godsend in a busy town where parking's at a premium.
The room was very clean & comfortable. The staff was pleasant & friendly.
Clean, comfy. A lot of street noise, but to be expected in a college town.
Close to downtown and business, price was acceptable, staff was good, decent parking Difficult to find vending machines; (carpet was a worn down; older decor- . . . not a major problem, but noticeable)
There were barking dogs on our floor. We do not stay in pet friendly hotels for this very reason. The fact that it was NOT clearly advertised to be pet friendly up front caused us to waste time and money on a day w a 15hour drive..we ended up doing in one day. we were reimbursed for half the room rate...better than no refund at all. The days inn staff were understanding
Close to University carpets worn, elevator dirty. no breakfast (as far as I could see)
Awesome downtown location and the Pool was a hit with the kids:)
Upgraded since we were last there, very comfortable beds bathroom small and tight for 2 people
Rooms were nice and clean. Staff courteous, helpful. Beautiful hotel. Double queen bed rooms are kind of small for a family with two younger children. We brought a pack and play for the little one. Worked out good.
wonderful unique room! Cozy corner to read (#290), Friendly staff, easy check-in / out, quick shuttle service to Arts Festival, responsive engineering staff to broken clock, Garden restaurant was great for breakfast! Room was very crisp and clean, high and low, bathroom floor was very clean! BIG windows were a plus, too! Excellent lighting options - all on florescent or low reading lights, desk light! Clean vent in the shower, new carpet needed or a very deep cleaning. Hot Tub not warm enough, Keirig - spot where you put the cup was filled with dirty water (the catch cup thing).
Beautiful, comfortable, and convenient
Hotel was new and EXTREMELY clean. Everything from the grout in the bathroom to the rug in the room was spotless. My king-size room came equipped with complementary mini-fridge and microwave. Hotel has a small workout facility, which I took advantage of, and even had some extra nice touches, like free coffee and cookies in the lobby, that was out 24/7. Front desk staff courteous and helpful. Sufficient parking and just down the road from PSU. Whenever I come to Penn State again, this is definitely where I will choose to stay. Nothing. I don't have one negative thing to say about this hotel
The staff were excellent with the exception of the breakfast hostess.
Staff very nice. Helped us change rooms when people above us were noisy. Great price. We could not get wireless in our room. Breakfast mediocre, as are most free hotel breakfasts.
they paid for us to stay in a differnt hotel Rooms were not ready and sent us to a different hotel.
I was unhappy with my stay! I worked in hotel before!! and our room had dirty towels I asked if they could be removed and he gave us a new room, great except it was a downgrade n no less money!!! The shower in the new room sucked!!! And vending machines were broke on our floor also pool was disgusting!!!! Was not accommodated would not recommend and I worked in a best western things would not have went down this way where I worked!!! Very disappointed
Location Very poor cleaning staff and cleaning results - better cleaning job would have been done by 10 year olds
Staff is pleasant, helpful and extremely courteous. room 6092 sink is clogged very slow draining.
Very clean. Friendly staff. Spacious room Noisy air conditioning.
Would like to see complimentary coffee and Danish for am
Service was outstanding. Dinner in the restaurant was exquisite. Staff makes you feel at home. Great proximity to PSU venues and the airport. Complimentary shuttle service to local destinations is an excellent ammenity. Free apples for guests in the lobby! There are no cons to staying here. It might be a bit pricey for some, but the value is excellent for the service and convenience provided at this location.
Location, Location, Location. Right on campus, so if visiting Penn State, this is it !!! I've had small rooms and large rooms. This time I got lucky and got a nice large room. However, not nearly enough outlets available for guests' use. Only one outlet accessible in room. It's apparent, lots of students work here, but they seem to be teaching mediocrity. Why isn't it being run like a Ritz Carlton. Teach Perfection and the best way to run a hotel !! I was supposed to be picked up at the airport by their shuttle, and apparently, the person taking my reservation never signed me up in the reservation book (or wherever he's supposed to put it). Also, given the wrong price of the dinner buffet (by Over $10/person).
Convenient and clean Beds could be updated maids were noisy at 7:30 am
Very clean, nice room, decent size fridge that was nice and cold and air conditioning that worked well. Accommodating and friendly staff.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The woman working at the desk took the time to draw us a map to show us where to go on our visit to Penn State. Someone also brought cupcakes in during the evening and offered us some. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Penn State. Best hotel stay I've ever experienced. The treadmill in the workout room was out of order. This happens - I think we just hit it at the wrong time.
All things went good with my stay. Good breakfast, nice staff, clean, just an all around good experience.
They said they had breakfast but was a bit sparse.
Plenty of families staying there. Construction workers gave us a better feeling of security. Seriously. The doors to motel did not lock. Anybody from street could walk in and get on elevator. No security cameras.
Before I booked the hotel I read the reviews and I took a chance. I'm glad I did! I have no clue why someone would rate the hotel low. I have been in hotels for twice the price and this hotel was really a good deal for the price and very clean!! Don't hesitate!
Our room was exceptionally large compared to some hotels. They let us check in early too. No refrigerator or microwave. There was a microwave by the front desk for all to use, I did not see it till we left.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable... Wish ALL rooms had a fridge tho.... Breakfast is usually good as well.... Greg is a GREAT people person who works the over night shift...... Very helpful and always cheerful and polite to guests..... Stayed in a room after a busy weekend and it wasnt the cleanest it could have been.... Food substance on window ledge for some reason..... Coffee pot dusty and when ran water through it there was stuff floating in the water....
Location. Plenty of places to eat. Because we were a family, it would have been good to have a little mini fridge in the room for left overs
We arrived on Friday evening before the Penn State football game. The hotel staff kindly welcomed us at the front entrance with cookies, water, and other snacks. The location was easy to find and not too far from campus, although not walkable. Our room was clean and better than I had expected. The bed was comfortable and clean. There was a breakfast but we did not utilize it. WiFi was also available for free in the room. Our hotel room was located just around the corner from the front lobby on the main floor. Although this was convenient for getting out to our vehicle the hallway was noisy. We could hear people talking in the hallway from inside our room throughout much of the night. I wish we had been given a more quiet room.
ordinarily it would be a good value for the money, but they tripled their prices for a football weekend, which means that it was less than a good value for what you get. clean and relatively quiet family with dog in room next to me. they left the dog alone for long periods, during which it howled and barked the whole time.
Great value for sure and easy access to campus and surrounding area attractions. Room was exactly what I expected. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Within 3-4 miles from PSU and State College Rooms overpriced for graduation weekend
Furnishings and amenities are very dated and worn. needs to be renovated soon.
Toftrees is always my first choice in State College. Big bonus that the price through Kayak/Booking was the lowest by far in the area for hotels of this caliber. Always clean. Friendly helpful staff. I received the exact room options I requested without exception.
I could picture Toftree's Resort as a great place to engage a nice late spring golf weekend, or a relaxing time in a wooded and wonderful environment, or just for a time to read or rest. A business conference would also be ideal at Toftree's, allowing it to be both work and play.
Nice place. A little bit far from town. Very costly.
Great staff very friendly and helpful HVAC system kept the room too cold or too warm no matter what the temp setting making sleep difficult
The Toftrees resort was a quiet secluded facility. The staff was friendly & professional. The accommodations were quite comfortable. The balcony allowed for relaxation. The location of the vending machine an ice machine relative to the room location.
Proximity to campus; staff and as courteous; room was clean despite what I read prior to my stay. The price was ridiculous! Public areas were dingy and dirty.
Bed was comfortable, clean bathroom and room. hallways run down and looked dirty. pool area looked dirty as well as banquet area outside pool area.
The room was great and the bed was very comfortable AC was noisy. Ice dispenser was way far away - 1 floor down, at the other end of the building and then outside.
Breakfast options and cleanliness
Courteous staff and the quite and clean setup. Although getting a non-smoking room our kids still had a nauseating experience due to cigarettes smoke and smell coming through the bathroom vent almost the entire day.
Room was quiet, and layout real nice, location to our venue great. Bed was completely uncomfortable, breakfast was so-so compared to other hotels which include breakfast.
The Hotel was very inflexible. We needed to change dates, to move it a month out and they were not willing to do it. I'm very dissatisfied and do not recommend at all.
Like most hotels on the outside and pink is not my favorite color, I was impressed by the tall ceilings in the room. The tub and fixtures were excellent quality and shone like new. The bedding was nice cotton and there were three big pillows on each bed. I could open the window, though only a sliver. I also appreciated the three hotel carts right there in lobby to unload our gear. The breakfast area was roomy and comfortable, bright with many windows. Plenty of food well arranged.
Walk across the parking lot to Otto's Brewery and Restaurant. Most importantly, able to walk back to room!
The room was clean and the location was decent I stayed here with three young kids (3 under the age of 5) and there was no tub, only a small shower. Also the room was tiny! Barely enough room to pull my bag in the door and then NO WHERE to put it! And forget about setting up the ironing board, there was no where to stand!
The price was good. The room was clean. The staff was rude
Convenient location, great breakfast, friendly staff, nice room
That I felt comfortable and secure with the fact that this hotel did not have bed bugs...And that I did not feel that the room was lacking anything...I didn't think to myself...."oh they should have...this ...or that..." Could not walk to town....but that was not a big issue....as we only stayed overnight to pick up my nephew for the Thanksgiving break. Felt a slight throw back to the early nineties with the decor...but the bed was comfortable.
