The Barceló Montelimar hotel is situated in an exclusive spot in Nicaragua, on the beach, surrounded by stunning, lush tropical vegetation where you can enjoy the best Pacific sunsets.
Pros: Always a great place to spend with family
Pros: I liked being close to the beach and our bungalow style room. Massages were cheap and amazing
Cons: Our room had an ant infestation and they key was constantly getting deactivated. No wifi available in the actual resort only the lobby. All drinks are premixed which I dont like and the bar is filled with bees and the pool with birds. It needs improvement
Pros: Nice place Excellent Sevice Cool crew
Pros: - Montelimar is a huge resort and it offers a lot of different activities. - We espacially liked the big pool and the beauty of the place. - The Food is very good, too.
Cons: - The price is quite high for Nicaragua. But the standard of the hotel is very luxurious and you get a lot for your money.
Pros: The beach was beautiful and staff friendly....air conditioning in the room was great.
Cons: To have to pay extra for internet and good liquor after one has paid over $100 per person seems not so all inclusive..... the cleanliness of public bathroom around pools was very very poor.
Pros: The pool is nice. The seafood dinner at Casona was exceptional, and perhaps the only thing that offset all the negatives.
Cons: 1. Upon arrival, the check in receptionist told me that wifi access could not be made available until the next day when the "tecnico" got in. Nica travelers will know that even the most basic restaurants will give you the wifi code on demand. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel). That same guy at reception would prove to be completely useless on other rather simple requests, such as A) do you have a wine bottle opener? (Fijese que solo en el restaurante). Not in the bar located at reception, and B) coffee, because they were out of mugs. 2. The sink in our bathroom broke and would not stop spewing water. Five outs later when we got back to the room it was still going. They only allow maintenance in when guests are present but did not mention that. 3. Maintenance had to turn off the water to get it to stop so we had to pack up and switch rooms. 4. Got to know room and went to call for said wine opener and realized the phone did not work. Neither did TV remote. 5. Had to walk to reception to get wine opener and let them know about phone, then waited for maintenance to arrive and fix. 6. Wifi was inconsistently working over three days. 7. It's all inclusive, which sounds nice, but food at main restaurant is mediocre and the all inclusive drinks are terrible. 8. The only way to get around, besides walking, is to take a very slow moving tram pulled by a tractor. 9. They have lawn chairs near the beach but you have to move them yourself. 10. Showers, bathrooms, and many other facilities are dated. 11. You need a "permission slip" to leave the premises during your stay. 12. Many on staff don't seem at all interested in attending to clients. Would not recommend going here.
Pros: The beach, the pools, zoo and garden. Breakfast was good. A very quiet place, perfect to relax.
Cons: Cabins were given randomly, we couldn't where we wanted to stay. We were given a cabin with 2 full beds we couldnt sleep very well. There were cockroaches and other insepts in the room even went everything was close. A few things were falling off in the room and needed to be repaired. 1st lunch was ok, Dinner was horrible( basically salads, steam vegetables that didn't taste well, garlic soup, rice and just chicken in a weird sauce), breakfast was very good. We didn't want to stay for next meal. I feel I paid to much for the experience.
Cons: The staff at Reservations had horrible customer service they never answer the phone at the reception and they totally ignored us even when standing at the front desk for over 45 minutes! Never coming back!
Pros: the pool for small children. my 2 years old nephew loved it
Cons: food was basic. juices were not natural. bathrooms inside the villas need work. no light in the porch of my villa.
Pros: Location, view and food was great!
Cons: I just wish the rooms would’ve been more clean and sheets were dirty as well. I was traveling with my toddler so that concerned me.
Pros: Wonderful quiet beach, ideal for long walks and a great garden on the grounds. Great sunsets and stargazing options! Friendly staff,. Not all restaurants were open due to current booking situation, but variety at buffet was okay. Very familiar athmosphere, many things to do (pool, darts, minigolf, tennis, animation).
Cons: The hotel is 25 years old, the bathrooms are very dark.

Pros: We loved the ambiance of the area- beautiful ocean, palms, good food, and great places to sit and relax. The staff is friendly and takes care of the place very well! It was a great place to stay!
Cons: We had to leave too soon!
Pros: location, location, location! The help and the owner were so accommodating yet we always had privacy. The roar of the ocean waves all night and day was therapeutic. Loved the dogs! Airport transport was prompt with a new clean car.
Pros: All was great, I prefer not to make other comments then this , that 2 of my nieces got foot hurt in the pool .. inside the floor pool and I saw that, the other guest children got hurt too. So I think there’s something inside the pool that needs to get fixed ..thank you, Staff was great too
Cons: Food pricing
Pros: The quiet and special attention we received. Also the ease of access to the beach- best beach we have been to in Nicaragua!
Cons: This was our second time and we enjoyed it all. We would have enjoyed being in a different room just to see something different.
Pros: We enjoy the peace and privacy of the property. The food of the restaurant is excellent. They prepare the meals the way you desired. We spent a very nice time in this property.
Cons: You have to look for the waiters in the kitchen. An electronic device should be given to the customers to call the waiters when needed.
Pros: - This hotel is very beautiful. We were amazed by the beauty of the place! - The staff and the owner of the hotel are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. - The kitchen is very good, too. - All in all it is a great hotel to stay. Especially for this price.
Cons: If you travel by bus and carry some luggage, I'd recommend to take a taxi from the bus-stop to the hotel (for around 50-70C$ or 2$), because the road to the hotel is partially in bad shape.
