Maple Terrace Motel - Williamstown - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They definitely pay attention to details. Very comfortable and clean
7.9 Good
Pros: I stayed at several hotels/motels when dropping off my daughter at Williams college. This has been the most pleasant of my stays. It’s not updated but it’s decent, clean in a great location and the price is reasonable. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I recommend it.
Cons: I spend a lot of time in hotels throughout Southern California, so I have become picky. I am personally not a fan of motels and I didn’t care for the decor or the continental breakfast. But that is a personal preference. Williamstown is such a beautiful safe place that you don’t have to be concerned about your front door exposed to the parking lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Maple Terrace far exceeded my expectations! It was so attractive and well-kept! The room was comfortable, well-maintained, and clean. The breakfast was good. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like!
8.8 Excellent

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally friendly. Will definitely stay here on my next trip to Williamstown.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and quiet
Cons: Everything was fine
1.0 Poor
Pros: A small, very friendly, family-run motel with excellent proximity to the centre of town and its art galleries ( key for us ) Everything was clean and well maintained , and we just caught the out-door pool before its autumn shut-down ( very welcome) Small motels like this should be supported by UK tourists like us - an excellent ‘snapshot’ of the best of small town rural N America - and good value ( when a lot of our other big city costs have been quite eye-watering ! )
Cons: Can’t fault this motel in any way
8.0 Excellent
Pros: nnnnnnnnnnn
Cons: concave mattress
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was satisfying with several choices. The motel was charming and comfortable and we would stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a charming hotel! My daughter and I loved everything about this hotel. The staff were delightful, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the grounds were gorgeous, it was convenient to Williams College, the co-op grocery store and cute little restaurants in old town Williamstown. Breakfast even had fresh fruit! We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nada

Cons: Pricy... for what you get..
6.8 Good
Pros: I like that the pool was open even tho it was january. Loved the room set up. Lover the staff, very friendly and helpful. Did not like how there is nothing around there. I'm use to seeing alot around me. And there was not much to do around there if you are not into art. The contemporary art museum was right in front of the hotel, but other than that, there is not much to do. The drive from new York was very nice.

Cons: Clothes smelled like smoke after the stay, even though it was a non smoking room. They claimed they are close to Williams campus but still you have to drive there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The management of this hotel is an exceptionally wonderful person. We had a collision with wildlife 45 minutes away and when I called to say we’d be delayed before I got past the accident he offered to come and help us in anyway. We were not even prior customers. Just a wonderful guy. Also the breakfast was amazing fresh organic fruit and really good fresh baked goods and yogurts - again not what you normally find but felt really cared for - which we kinda needed!

Pros: Helpful/friendly and attentive staff. Excellent fruit breakfast but very limited internal seating/space for customers with some stools located at the office desk on which buffet breakfast was also located. Good on-site parking. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Room facilities were quite tight and dated, but adequate. Consider overpriced compared to modern hotel chain facilities, however the fruit breakfast was excellent. The room 'freshener' used was overpowering..

Pros: The staff were so helpful. The motel room was clean, bed unbelievably comfortable...Owner deserves great success. The motel is getting a makeover and Jim is doing an AMAZING job. He is genuinely interested in making your stay memorable. The views are inspirational....A little bit of Heaven. An added bonus is its majestic sunrises....You know how the saying goes, "It's great to be home?" It's not!!! Wish we were still there...Can't wait to go back again and again.....
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I only gave 4 stars for location (through no fault of their own) because it's in the middle of nowhere. But fortunately the middle of nowhere is well worth the drive in this case.
Cons: Leaving.

Pros: My family and I were traveling for the holiday weekend. I made a reservation quickly online, once getting there I had realized the booking dates were wrong...oh no!!! Well the gentleman at the desk was so kind and helpful in getting me a room at a local Howard Johnson as he was booked. And it being the holiday all the hotels/ motels were pretty much all booked. I was upset since it was late and panicked a little. But he found us that room 5 minutes away. I could've have been more grateful ... Great hospitality! When we visit the area again this motel will be our first choice!

Cons: Air conditioner wasn't on correct setting and room was hot initially.

Pros: This was just what we were expecting- a 2 star motel - it was clean, the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was varied and we liked the opportunity to make our own fresh waffles. The bedroom and shower were well equipped - with charging points for phones embedded in the lamps - which was very useful. All in all we were glad we chose this accommodation
Cons: The seating area for breakfast was a bit small - but we coped!

Pros: The hospitality was welcoming. We were treated to a gourmet breakfast our first day, and when we had to leave very early the next day Caryn left us all banana smoothies and home made banana bread to take with us. The beds are amazing. The décor of Topia is like nothing you will experience any where else.
Cons: ?

Pros: The room was very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the turn-down service was unexpected and wonderful.
Cons: It's not that I didn't enjoy it, but since we are to only use the products that are supplied in our rooms, it may be a good idea to make sure everything is fully stocked and not near empty or completely empty.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent and the customer service levels as well. One is given a comprehensive introduction about the city from food to things to do
Cons: My room was #1 and was near the street and cars noise was obvious until 10 pm or so
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner called me on the day of our arrival; a very nice touch. He was super helpful at check in and check out. The owner and his family live on site. The room was not fancy, but was clean and had a small selection of toiletries in the bathroom. Great location is you are visiting Williams College.
Cons: It's been a long time since I stayed in a lodging facility with doors that opened directly to the street. Notwithstanding that Williamstown is a very safe community, I didn't sleep as soundly as I normally would. Absolutely nothing happened during our stay, and we came and went into the late evening hours. About 90% sure I would stay here again. The owner lives on site and is great!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, outdoor ambiance, quiet. Had everything you need in a small space.
Cons: Toilet seat loose.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was just what I needed. I was sick, so they allowed early check-in and were super friendly and offered to go to the pharmacy for me, and accommodated me for a 2nd night. The windows opened with flywires (which I always appreciate as I prefer a colder room) and there was a microwave and fridge.

Pros: Spacious, comfortable, nicely furnished rooms with Fridge and Microwave.
Cons: After-wedding guests next door had party in room starting 10pm - finally had to call front desk around midnight to get any sleep. No breakfast service in restaurant in a.m. - also seemingly due to wedding party.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient to downtown North Adams & MASS MoCA.
Cons: The staff were not very welcoming or overly helpful in recommending local places to go that were not obvious chains. This seems hyper contrary to what North Adams needs & is attempting to establish: a local, home-grown, unique & independent tour economy.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is excellent. We used this as our base to hike the Savoy forest and Mt. Greylock. In the past we have used it as our base to visit MASS MOCA and The Clark.
Cons: The air conditioner in the room was incredibly loud and turned on and off every ten minutes which made it difficult to fall asleep. Also you can not open the windows in the rooms which makes the air in the rooms very stuffy.

Cons: no
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located to where I needed to be. Local eats within walking distance. Staff was exceptionally nice, helpful, accommodating.

6.7 Good

Pros: We looked in the restaurant and decided to pass on the breakfast.
Cons: This is really a motel not an Inn. The buildings did not match the pictures on line. The facility was tired and oddly decorated; the bed was really too soft for a person with a bad back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable nice jacuzzi my fiance said the room is pretty nice atmosphere the staff is friendly and we had a great time
Cons: The pool wasn't loading yet
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious room, comfortable, excellent breakfast. Great location for spending a few days in the Berkshires.
Cons: The over-the-top Victorian furnishings and decor took some getting used to. The blinds didn't quite close off complete and there were no other curtains, so felt slightly exposed to any foot traffic walking by.
7.5 Good
Pros: it's a drive to get into town but the attached restaurant is very good. We stayed in one of the suites which had a semi private breakfast included which was very nice.
Cons: is in need of small maintenance, shower stall was of poor quality, door was unstable

1.0 Poor
Pros: location
Cons: cleanliness and wifi not working
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodations better than expected. Hotel manager went beyond the call of duty when I had difficulty with light switches - he replaced almost every light bulb in the room. Positives: bathtub, refrigerator, cable tv, breakfast in morning and location.
Cons: Although there was a thermostat in the room which I could control, I couldn't seem to get room temperature above the low 60s. I didn't ask for help though, and just put on an extra layer of clothing.

Cons: Room hadn't been used very much so some issues but staff made up for it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very polite and helpful.
Cons: The AC unit was duct taped into the window, and the controls were broken. The only way to turn it on or off was to plug it in or unplug it. The room smelled musty, and featured several obsolete/unusable fixtures. Entire hotel needs remodeling.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: Nasty smell in room. Bathroom not clean. Mirror really dirty very offputting
7.5 Good
Pros: Very central to town
Cons: Polystyrene plates and plastic cutlery for breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was okay
Cons: Third floor ATTIC room, no elevator so had to lug everything up 3 flights of stairs, bathroom was tiny no place to put anything, advertised tub was about 3 ft long, certainly too small for anything but a shower floor, needed vacuuming and window sill had dead bugs. Poor lighting, worn out uncomfortable chair. Bathroom door opened out instead of in as the room was too small and it did not close!
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were amiable and eager to help and they went above and beyond what one normally expects. They searched around for parts to fix our bathtub, postponed my room cleanup and check out while I searched for my car keys and played cartoons on the lobby for my kids while I searched the car. The staff workers were quite considerate of us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No outside noise, room was comfortable.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The name of the property attracted me as I like properties with character - the hotel rooms had been decorated with new curtains but the structure needed total maintenance
Cons: The hotel rooms were tired very dark, smelled of damp, unsightly wiring - shower was difficult to control and hot water could have been dangerous - so dark could not open windows - breakfast was good first day but venue was changed without notice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location friendly staff good food break fast
Cons: Lighting in rooms not dim
7.1 Good
Pros: Food in restaurant next door was very good.
Cons: Accommodation was ok. Stayed 2 nights, went out at 9.30am on day 2 returned at 4pm to find room had not been serviced. Spoke to lady in the office but it still took another hour until room done. Poor service for the price paid.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It had rained the day before, the roof above the room leaked, the bed pillow & sheets were wet, not the best first impression.
Cons: It had rained the day before, the roof above the room leaked, the bed pillow & sheets were wet, not the best first impression.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location with a GREAT free breakfast. We love the restaurant food in the evening it is delicious and if you are tired you can order it to go and bring it back to your room. We have been going here for years and we love the location & the stream
Cons: My pet peeve is the Comfortor/Blanket. I like nice new white comforters and they don't have them, which is OK, BUT, they are too old need a refresher. The sheets were crisp.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location was beautiful
Cons: Very dated (old) Beds were like sleeping on the floor Room was musty and dusty smelling. Tv didn't get any reception. Was very expensive for what we got. Couldn't wait to leave.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The location is good
Cons: Untidy room, poorly maintained, noisy plumbing. Comfortable restaurant spoilt by curt service. Pond is not a pond, pool is filthy
1.0 Poor
Cons: It is a 50’s era road side motel with dated everything that is advertising as if it is an historic New England Inn. It’s NOT. Decor is dark knotty pine everywhere and beds are hard with old squeaky mattresses. Don’t go here. It’s also pretending to be an B and B to project that vibe but the breakfast is at a restaurant next door.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Very buggy.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Not enough room to explain! Bad experience
7.9 Good
Pros: So clean with a comfortable bed and a nice shower.Breakfast was in a lovely room and was more and better than a typical hotel included breakfast. Quiet! Nice pub on the property.

Cons: Middle of nowhere.

Pros: Good central location, clean and comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are clean and the furnishings are new. The complimentary buffet breakfast is nice though it was quite crowded as I believe the hotel was sold out the night we stayed.
Cons: The walls are a little thin so you can hear the voices of other guests at times.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: not their fault as I wished to shorten stay by a day. Just paid for it!!
5.0 Okay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was nice. the bed and pillows were comfy
Cons: no
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located to where I needed to be. Local eats within walking distance. Staff was exceptionally nice, helpful, accommodating.
Cons: I stayed two nights. First night, very quiet and peaceful. The second night was extremely noisy, including an alarm clock going off at midnight (that I didn’t set) and one in the adjacent room that sounded as if it could easily have been in my room also.
