It was quick and easy. I just didn’t know the shop wasn’t open at the time of my return but I did put the keys in the drop off box. I just didn’t receive anything saying they received the keys and everything was ok.

Staff was friendly and tried to solve problem

Cons:

Reserved a 12 passenger van, when we got there, we were told they didn’t have one. They said that they tried calling, I didn’t get a call, text or email. We then had to rent two vehicles that cost much more.

The car was in good condition except for the cigarette smell from the previous renters.

Cons:

Difficulty accessing anyone by phone; hard to find contact information and difficulty actually getting someone to speak with on the phone, but once I was able to, I was satisfied.

Pros:

Staff person at pickup was pleasant and polite, although the wait was fairly long(45 minutes).

Cons:

The car was dirty, including the interior seats. Waits upon pickup and return were unreasonably long. For the money they are making per car and the number of cars they are renting, they are understaffed by about 3 car cleaners and jockeys. I’ve rented hundreds of cars in the past 20 years and have never had to take a car to the car wash after picking it up. Would never go back to that rental shop again! Also, the manager should come and help out, instead of sneaking by to hide in the back room

Yes it was. They could use more help at the office. They were working their butt's off. But the help gave us great service.

More staffing. But the existing help did a great job!

My wife mentioned when we got in the car he wasn't too friendly. The car need a car wash . The lady I called said I could drop it off at the airport with no extra charge. Good thing your employee mentioned it was $450 extra to drop it off there . I would have been one extremely PO customer if I did .

Waited 3 hours for a car… which was not an SUV like I requested.. got told I was picking up at the wrong site. Had to call and switch over my reservation and went from being charged $345 to $746 but they actually charged my card $993. Will be calling today to get my money back.

I like that pick up was easy. No upsetting pressure. I like that drop off was easy. Just drop off in the parking lot and hand the keys over to attendant. What made this experience really sour was the condition of the car. All, I mean every single seat back and front was heavily stained. The windows were so dirty we could not see well when the sun shone through. Truly not worth the money, which we know is too much these days.

Kayak had me book for a rental car from a different site than the airport, which resulted in me needing to take a taxi off the airport to go get the rental car when there was a rental office at the airport. Then I had to arrange for a ride from the off site rental location to the airport. I also had to return the car hours before my flight because the rental office closed at 1:00 on Sundays.

Pros:

Honestly didnt like anything about our experience from the car to the staff. Overall unprofessional. My spouse and I rented a vehicle in early June to travel from SC to NJ and back. A couple of hours into our trip a huge roach, the kind that fly was crawling on my foot. I freaked out and this could of potentially been dangerous, good thing I wasn't driving. That made us worry about our luggage in the trunk as we didnt want roaches infesting our belongings. On our way up to New Jersey there was no way for us to pay cash for our tolls due to covid and we were forced to go through the EZ Pass. We immediately call Thrifty to notify them and were told we'd have to pay the tolls online for every state we went through a toll. When we tried to pay online through the state,we didnt have an invoice number that was require to pay the toll. That we needed from thrifty. We called thrifty again only to have our account noted. Now several months later we're being charged $90.00 in toll and penalty. When I called again to speak to the Manager Jessica I was given an attitude over the phone and was told that it was my responsibility to pay the tolls despite our multiple attempts to make the payment, which now include a penalty fee. I was also hung up on and when I called back and asked to speak to the Manager Jessica again I was sidelined. I travel to NJ once a month for work, we rent vehicles and fly often. This by far has been my worst experience ever dealing with any kind of customer service agents.

Dealing with a competent manager.

Front desk person on the day of arrival was rude as could be. My ID was having trouble scanning but She did not work towards a solution, basically telling me to f#%^ off, leaving me without a rental car for the entire week. Was not a fun week.

Nothing. We never got a car.

Cons:

Terrible customer service. We have amazing credit and extensive history, but we were RUDELY told we didn’t have enough credit history when we arrived even though we can see they didn’t pull our credit. We were able to make a reservation without credit questions. We had to sit there stranded with our one year old with no way to get to our hotel because we didn’t even have a car seat (since we were going to get one from them) and no one else had cars. We never ended up getting a car from Thrifty even after paying for insurance through a 3rd party. We assumed there may not have been a car for us, because we can clearly see she never pulled our credit.
