Pros: Not in downtown Kansas City, but close enough not to be a bother.
Cons: Booked a non-smoking king room for my wife, me, and our 4 week old newborn while moving cross country. When we arrived, we were given our room number, walked into the room and it REEKED like smoke! My wife was in tears for fear of our newborn's health as everything in the room reeked and smelled like smoke. When I went to the front desk to complain, they ASSURED me that the room was non-smoking and that they hadn't had any smoking rooms for the last 5 years. The room smelled like someone had been smoking in it 5 minutes ago! They then told me that I was just out of luck if I didn't want the room because they couldn't give me a different room. They then said that because I booked on Kayak, the room was non-refundable. The staff was super unhelpful until I went back into the room and grabbed a washcloth, dipped it in water, then wiped the walls which turned the rag a dark brown color. I then brought the rag back down to the front desk and showed them and then and only then did they offer me a new room. This hotel staff was not friendly super unhelpful, but hey at least they've got free hot breakfast. Save yourself a bad experience, move on to the next hotel.
Pros: Very convenient location. Clean, except for that odor. Pets are allowed so that may have been the issue from a previous guest. Free breakfast if typical fare but very good.
Cons: Room had a canine odor. One day I woke up to several gnats congregated in the bathroom sink. The place appeared very clean but the odors were off putting.
Pros: The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location felt very safe and comfortable for a right-off-the-highway hotel. The included hot breakfast was convenient and surprisingly delicious. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable. I would recommend this hotel again for a short stay in the area.
Cons: Although the hotel is now a 100% smoke-free establishment, our "smoke-free room" was not always a smoke-free room, and the smell was not subtle. Our luggage and clothes reeked of stale smoke from the residual stench from years of in-room smoking after only a 2-day stay. However, the hotel does have rooms available that have always been smoke-free: my suggestion would be to specify this preference if you have any sensitivity to cigarette smoke.
Pros: The room itself was great
Cons: Breakfast was not very good

Pros: Walmart and Quick Trip are within 1 to 2 blocks. At least 5 food options within walking distance.
Cons: No Pool. Highway traffic. Hard to get to.
Pros: Not many redeeming factors about this place
Cons: Dirty shower walls, poor performance by front desk. Put me in an already occupied room. The bathroom sink had bad faucet. The tub had a continuous water leak. There was virtually nothing available for breakfast at 8:00 AM.
Cons: Wear and tear on the room but it was expected
Pros: Location, close to food, gas, highway.
Cons: Room was dirt, bed sheets didn't seem clean, one of our bath towels was diry and had a lipstick
I would not recommend this hotel or stay again, it was cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. If the other hotels were not full we would've moved... Very disappointed.
Cons: The bed was awful, it was like sleeping on concrete! The room had been undergoing some renovations, so there was open drywall in the bathroom, they had overbooked so there were no other rooms available. The airconditioner also did not work.
It is the only hotel in Oak Grove.
Pros: The owner/manager was very nice.
Cons: They insisted that I pay an additional 10.80 for my 13 year old son!
Not to bad i guess you get what you pay for.
Pros: a/c worked
Cons: Had to change room 3 times before i got one that didn't reeked of cigarette smoke. I even requested a smokeless room.
The Motel was alright. Room was clean, simple, and no problems. My biggest fear was bed bugs. Luckily there were no bed bugs.
Cons: The flies, moths, & bugs in the room
It's an Econolodge. Though you get what you pay for this is no excuse for a hotel not to pay attention to details.
Pros: This hotel was conveniently located near the interstate.
Cons: The lobby smelled bad. I was charged an additional amount for an extra person even though I ordered two beds. Junk cars were in the parking lot. The drains in the bathroom emitted a sour odor.
Very nice place and the people were very helpful.
Pros: The room was clean and warm. All was in good order. Breakfast was tasty too
Cons: Nothing, would stay again.
Pros: Nice and quiet. Clean room. Friendly staff. Excellent for the price.

Pros: Price. But it was not worth the hassle of the quality.
Cons: Stains and or burn marks in the carpet. Wires hanging out of the HVAC unit, maid turned it off when after she cleaned so it was freezing when I got back. Had to air the room out in 30 degree weather because someone in an adjacent room was smoking mariju
Pros: The location
Cons: We would never stay there again. I will never recomend it to anyone. It was very run down hotel
Pros: Nothing rude people
Old ,worn out ,smelly , dirty need I say more
Pros: Nothing disgusting
Pros: Bed was comfortable nice people
Cons: Nothing really
For what we needed which was a place to rest this place was great.
Pros: The price was great. The shower was awesome and the beds were comfortable. Parking was a breeze. The breakfast was basic but free and I've stayed at expensive hotels where the showers sucked and you had to pay for breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is a bit run down but that was to be expected.
Cons: The rooms are smaller than adxertised the beds are smaller the halls smell like stale ciggerettes and beer the plaster was falling off tjeceilings tje breakfasts is nothing more than coffee milk and stale cereal
I was very satisfied with this hotel for a place quick on and off I-70 with plenty of free parking. I was pulling a trailer so was nice to have a big parking lot that could accommodate even 18-wheelers.
Pros: The place was very clean and tidy. Room had a bathtub as well as a shower with microwave, refridg, coffee pot, hair dryer, TV, etc. Excellent for the money.
Cons: Charged $10 for pet but with the low price for the room it was still affordable.
I feel that some of the other negative comments are a little unfair. The place is not perfect, but it wasn't terrible either. The owner's English was fine, and there are other staff members that are from here. They were all very kind and made the process fast and easy. I plan to return to Oak Grove for my future trips to the area.
Pros: It was inexpensive and located near my intended destination. I think I got a good deal for the price I paid. The online pre-pay option was fast and easy.
Cons: There were some minor cosmetic things in the room that could have been repaired, but it was nothing that directly affected our stay.

Cons: Room was dirty, and seemed to not have been prepared for use. The coffee maker still had old coffee grounds in it, they only left about an 1/8th of a roll of toilet paper, and there was an exposed strip of tacks on the floor in the bathroom.
Cons: Well i recived a one bed roim instead of 2. Room not well cleaned. Free breakfast was a joke. No milk for ceral. No butter or toppings for bagles.
Pros: There really is not anything positive to be said about this hotel which is actually more of a motel.
Cons: The room was in a pitiful state. Starting with the door there was a swing lock to secure it internally but no area to attach it. So it was useless. The beds were kind of rundown and one of them had no box spring. There were no headboards on the bed.
Pros: Cheap and right off the freeway
Cons: 'non smoking room' smelled like someone had smoked in it and the bathroom smelled like pee
Overall I would rate the hotel as very good. We would stay there again if we were traveling through that area.
Pros: The woman at the front desk was very hospitable. The room was clean, and we had everything we needed for a short, overnight stay.
Cons: The traffic from the highway was rather distracting when I was trying to go to sleep, but I imagine that's just a cost of the location.
price was good. Hotel was clean but getto
Cons: it was scary. It had tenants living in this hotel and they were pretty getto and scary
Should not be on your list.
Pros: Got in very late and the reception person was very nice. Nice size frig in room.
Cons: I used Priceline almost everynight on a 12-day cross-country trip. By far, this was the worst hotel we stayed at. Very old and tacky. Bed was not comfortable. Towels were small. Construction made it difficult to enter. Breakfast was awful.
this MOTEL, do not stay at, this place is so out dated, the room smelled old, wet, musty. My boyfriend wouldn't even let me go in.when we complained at the front desk to Melissa, she said she could do nothing, because we booked through price line, and not them directly... Bull crap...so we went across the street to the Comfort Inn, much better....
Cons: Everything, the room had a smell of musty, wet, mold and just dirty. The rooms do not even come close as to what is showed online.front desk people didn't offer us a different room. Went across the street to the Comfort inn..
This hotel exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. It was very reasonable and was very close to everywhere we wanted to go. There is also a movie theatre with in walking distance, which was very nice. The staff was very helpful and polite. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone looking for a cheaper hotel, but suggest you skip the continental breakfast. It was nothing to brag about.
Pros: The room was very comfortable. We unfortunately booked a smoking room and it smelled a bit like smoke, but that wasn't the hotels fault. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The breakfast could have had a bit more variety and the apple juice seemed a bit old, it was discolored and didn't smell right.
If you are looking for a swanky 4-star hotel, this is not it. However, if you are looking for a place to stay that has great value, this is it. The rooms were nice size. The beds were big queen beds and slept very comfortable. The refrigerator kept our pop cold. Breakfast is toast, bagels, cereal, rolls, juice and coffee. Not a big breakfast, but great for the price of the room. Rooms, walkways, stairs could have been cleaner, but this was not a big deal to us. It was very quiet at night and I felt very safe. Overall, a nice stay at a very reasonable price.
Pros: Of course, it is not a 4-star hotel. But it was very peaceful and quiet. The hotel staff were very courteous and pleasant. The beds were truly queen size and the refrigerator worked well. The shower was good and there was something for breakfast.
Cons: It was hard to get to because of significant construction on roadways in the area. The rooms, walkways, and stairs should be cleaned more thoroughly.
I was extremely disappointed in this room. I wasn't expecting a five star room, but, this room didn't make it to 1 star in my opinion. I have stayed at the Marriott for the same price as I paid for this room. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Pros: The only thing I liked about this room is that it was close to Whiskey Tango's. My birthday party was there, and I did not have to drive after a night of celebrating.
Cons: There was old coffee packets in my coffeemaker, no comforter on my bed. It had one sheet and a very, very thin blanket only.
Pros: My room had not been cleaned. There was even a dirty diaper under the bed. Terrible
