Car rental at Oslo Sandefjord Airport

You will need to provide your driver’s licence, secondary photo identification like your passport and a major credit card in your name. You must have held a full and valid driver’s licence for at least a year, and there is also a minimum age requirement of 21 for hiring a car in Norway, though this can vary between companies. Insurance is also mandatory when driving a rental car in Norway, and if you are using your own coverage instead of the policies offered by the rental company, you will need to provide evidence of this to them at collection of your vehicle.

If your travel itinerary for Norway mainly connects between cities and main roads, a comfortable economy or compact vehicle is a great choice if that accommodates your party and luggage needs. If you are traveling in a larger group or family though, you may want to keep the extra room needed for your luggage in mind and opt for extra space in an SUV or even a van. For those planning to venture into the wild, an SUV may be a good idea for the rougher roads away from the main routes between cities.

Once you have arrived at Oslo Sandefjord Airport and collected your luggage, you will see signs to direct you toward the rental car building, which is separate to the main building of the airport. Once you exit the main building, the rental car building will be to your left in the main car park. There will be further signs once you exit the airport to direct you there and it’s only a short walk away.

On average a rental car at Oslo Sandefjord airport costs $54 per day.

Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Oslo Sandefjord airport to off-airport locations include Hertz, and Sixt.
