9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice welcome upon arrival. They had various drinks and snacks waiting for us on the table and kindly put on the heating for us as we were feeling a little cold after our motorbike ride. The B&B was easy to find as new signs have been put up on the main road. Our bedroom was very clean and basic.........no TV and no kettle in the room so OK for our one night stay. When we checked out, the owners gave us a little present which they had made on-site.......a little wooden chopping board for the kitchen.
Cons: Be warned that this is a pet friendly B&B. While we were having breakfast another guest's dog was able to enter the breakfast room and roam freely around while we were eating. Personally I don't like animals near food, I just find it unhygienic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, comfortable room. Rich breakfast. All our requests were answered and all trips to the reserve and visiting Florence were accurate. Weather is very pleasant when Italy is mostly burning.
Cons: We could not stay any longer.

Pros: Hill top location afforded great views and comfortable facilities. Worth the steep hike up to enjoy this converted 700 year old piece of local history.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stefano is a very pleasant and helping person The breakfast was exellent Its our second time in this hotel We liked it very much I strongly recommend for any one visitig florance tuscany and country side nature
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stefano went above and beyond in looking after using this very comfortable apartment.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautifully and expertly renovated. Excellent bathroom with hot powerful shower. View from the bedroom window is of the town clock tower and rolling hills / vineyards and olive groves beyond. The property is a 3 minute walk from the centre of town, excellent restaurants, shops and coffee bars. The host is very attentive and interesting and can offer wine and olive oil fresh from the nearby Fattoria which is responsible for prize winning wines. Breakfast eggs are freshly laid. If you are a musician you will be impressed by the collection of guitars and other stringed instruments artfully placed around the building.
Cons: Everything was excellent and the only miniscule negative I can think of is that the bed was a bit wobbly. It was very comfortable though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere was fantastic. Stefano and Guiselle welcomed us warmly and could not have been more gracious. We had the best breakfast in our month and a half of traveling. Great bathroom and view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We LOVED everything! Starting from the location to the views. Our accommodations were excellent. Everything was very very clean. Last but not least was our amazing host Stefano, who not only made us feel at home, but made us the most delicious breakfast we’ve had in Italy. Will definitely be back in the future. If you get a chance to visit Pontassieve, you must stay at Sosta al Capitano ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cons: Everything was perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The amazing views, the local food and activities to do and the peace and quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Local wine and food and the dcenery
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! As near to a perfect experience as you could wish. Large Tuscan homestead/farm (fattoria) where they produce wine, olive oil and truffles, and accommodate guests in several buildings. An absolutely idyllic spot. Clean, comfortable apartment. Very fine amenities: large swimming pool, garden, areas for relaxation. Excellent restaurant. Amazingly good wines produced on the farm. Well situated for Florence - you can drive in and park easily, or take a train from nearby village. Technically less well situated for other Tuscan towns, as you have to skirt round Florence, but this was not an issue for us (no huge traffic problems) and it was 100% worthwhile to stay in such a truly fabulous place. Last but not least, a fantastic owner (Faye) and a team of staff. They are highly efficient, but much more than that they are absolutely passionate about what they do, intelligent and friendly, and seemingly instinctively go the extra mile. All this made our stay quite perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and really lovely people working there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful property and farm, we feel so lucky to have found it. Everything was just perfect, large room, comfortable bed, great service, good food and wine and so relaxing. Just wish we were staying longer.
Cons: The only thing we could in anyway complain about was the quality of the internet. Just wish we'd also booked the horse riding in advance as we missed out :(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The way that staff where ready to help with a smile
Cons: Was nothing not like
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view was fantastic, so was the house.
Cons: It was so cold in November.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast, food, peacefulness, helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice rooms in the building from 15th century. Cosy atmosphere, very friendly staff and super nice area. A lot of activities to do, and the pool was nice. Loved the pillows on the bed, towels and soap. The bodega (little shop to buy some food to eat or bring home) was so cute and the food tastes great! The restaurant was also very cosy and had great food!
Cons: The breakfast bread wasn’t always so fresh and they only had juice made from dark berries. The restuarant was a bit too fancy, I wish they also had a place to eat with more traditional, and low key food.
Agriturismo Colognole - Pontassieve - Bedroom

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable 16th century villa, friendly staff, inexpensive and very testy restaurant. Overall A+
9.3 Excellent
Pros: View pool and breakfast
7.0 Good
Pros: The views and the area and the main hotel staff, who were excellent, I cannot say the same for the Restaurant
Cons: The hotel side is really well run, the two ladies (both english speaking) are very good, however its the rest of the organisation that badly lets things down. They need to make up their minds on what they are offering: a hotel, wine tasting, food ... what is it? The location really precludes alternatives in the evening. A 2.5 mile slog up a very steep hill from the main road means you are there for the duration, with no local alternatives for meals. The restaurant side is verging on the chaotic. The owner (I think) runs his own fiefdom, its take it or leave it. Three set menus, no english speaking staff, they chose where you sit (!), no options to the menus (we asked and it ended up in arguments, once between themselves and once in the Restaurant in front of all the other diners) and forget it if you are vegetarian. Far too rigid and this aspect spoiled an otherwise enjoyable three day stay. They need to really sort out who is running the show. I could not recommend and will not be returning, sorry ...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Charming place! Loved the view of the area. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Therer is a great swimming pool. The staff were so nice and welcoming. There is a restaurant in the property, we had an wonderful dinner there. We loved it! We would visit again!
Cons: There is a long curvy road to reach the property, nothing too bad but it is better to be aware of that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful place - the tranquillity, hospitality and sheer joy of just being there far surpassed our expectations. Julia was an excellent hostess offering a great welcome and was really helpful throughout our stay and helped us with our Italian- very patiently! The very spacious room was typical Italian style with antique furniture, very comfortable bed. The pool is big enough with comfortable loungers and shaded areas. The onsite restaurant was excellent and Luigi and his team were just great. Am already planning a trip back!
Cons: Nothing really - it is tucked away half way up monte Giovi so don't expect a supermarket on your doorstep - if you feel unhappy about drinking water from the tap - which is quite okay here, bring bottled water and store in the fridge- otherwise bottled water is available in the restaurant when it is open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are extremely friendly and the whole surroundings are absolutely stunning. You have to eat in the restaurant at least one night, absolutely delicious.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect for what we wanted!
8.3 Excellent
Cons: breakfast was to be left in fridge for take away, this never happened on 3 mornings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff super friendly! Osteria with excellent food on the spot. You can but locally produced wines. What else You need to enjoy life...?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, delicious food, wonderful staff and guests.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was stunning, amazing countryside views and extremely peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a meal at the restaurant which was excellent, the chef also went out of his way to accommodate one of our group who is vegetarian.
Cons: I think the only real negative was the lack of air con. It was extremely hot when we were there which made sleep difficult. Softer pillows would also have been preferable for a good nights sleep.
Torre a Cona - Rignano sull'Arno - Bar
5
9.3 Excellent (47 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Rignano sull'Arno, Torre a Cona is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Valdarno and The Mall Luxury Outlet. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
7.5 Good
Pros: the location, wine yards and very nice Staff makes a Plus. There are local amazing restaurants nearby like trattoria del Burchio
Cons: The pictures from the room in internet are overrated For example. They show a Pool and perfect rooms but they are not quit the same
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is on a beautful hill and thus windy. The apartments are some 200 m away from the old castle which is currently being renovated and after some years will also host guests. You should take into account that the building is old and thus has small windows obstructing the view and making the apartments quite dark. Our apartment was on 2nd floor, thus no terrace or balcony.
Cons: We had interruptions of electricity twice for almost half day each - once with a warning previous evening, the other time - without warning (which left us with unfinished breakfast, wet hair for both kids and no shower for me and my wife). We couldnt reach the reception by the phone or email all morning as simply nobody was there. I think that if some construction is on site, they should not accept guests or warn well in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Torre a Cona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed and the staff welcomed us with smiles and warmth. Our villa was lovely and even though it was called ‘Piccolo’ it was certainly not small! Decorated with care and with our own private garden that has views of the Tuscan hills, it was perfect! After a month of travel around France and Italy, this was our highlight!
Cons: There is nothing not to like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The estate is enourmous and so beautiful. Perfect for relaxing, tanning at the pool and enjoying the view. The wine tasting with Lorenzo was great and insightful, and all the staff is extremely kind and helpful. Definitely recommending!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, you can find all necessary things there, very clean. We were 13 group of people, we stayed for one week and it was great time there. The staff was very nice and helpful, especially many thanks for Marianna. We enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it.
Cons: We had small problems with water, but Marianna solved them very quickly:)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good size apartment in old villa on grounds of estate. Rooms were basic but ideally suited to the Tuscan environment. Nice outside area with chairs tables and a fantastic view.
Cons: Would have been great to have bar facilities around pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views! Beautiful architecture and personalised experience. Cellars are spectacular and reminiscent of old Tuscany. The staff, such as Leonardo, were perfect tour guides who are passionate about the history and heritage of the property and the surrounding region. Horseback riding and Ancient Etruscan cooking classes were superb activities. Great stepping stone to the secret gems of Tuscany.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside! The food and wine tour was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, excellent villa, fabulous knowledgeable staff and great pool
Cons: Absolutely nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautiful just like on the pictures. The owners are so friendly. The perfect place to relax.
Cons: The road to the hause is horrible so if you have a sports car is very difficult to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Monic and her husband are super nice hosts. Their villa is old and nice, and the room is very clean. There is even a cooling fan in the room in case it is too hot in summer(which I didn't expect :-P). I'd recommend the anti-pasto on the dinner menu, super nine and very good value for money. :-)
Cons: nothing...

Pros: Leonardo and his wife were gracious, friendly and helpful owners of this cozy comfortable small group of rooms in their home. Parking was easy and the train to Florence took 20 minutes to the heart of the city and a short walk to the Duomo and the Uffizi Museum. Breakfast was good and we loved walkng around the small city of Pontassevie on the eastern side of Tuscany. This B&B was described by the couple as their dream and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them. We would love to return there someday.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating to walkers
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were walking the way of St Francis from Florence and stayed in Leonardo Rooms after the first day of our walk. Very clean room with good bathroom and lots of hot water. Our host, Maura was wonderful and we appreciated the large bottle of cold water in our room after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was good and light before walking. Nice b&b.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Funky, shabby-chic decor. Super nice couple took great care of us. Great breakfast for the price.
Cons: Not a big deal but the bathroom was across the hall. We did however, have it all to ourselves.

Castello del Trebbio - Pontassieve - Building

Castello Del Trebbio is located in Pontassieve, 19 km from Florence and 65 km from Montecatini Terme. The farm stay has a seasonal outdoor pool and barbecue, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. Certain apartments include a seating area where you can relax. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including wine tasting, cycling and hiking. The farm stay also offers bike hire. San Gimignano is 69 km from Castello Del Trebbio, while Prato is 38 km away. The nearest airport is Florence Airport, 24 km from Castello Del Trebbio.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The views were spectacular. The rooms were clean and lovely.
Cons: The staff gave us attitude about wanting the a/c to be cold as it was close to 100 degrees F. No one told us about having to buy our own toilet paper/supplies. They nickel & dimed you for everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Castello Del Trebbio is nothing short of magic. The minute I got off the bus ( yes you can get there by bus from Florence) my Tuscan fantasy became a reality. Gently sloping hills planted with olive trees, grape vines, fruit and nut trees are a feast for the eyes....and to top it all off, there’s the castle presiding on the hilltop over looking the farm, what more do you need to make a dream come true?! Not only is the scenery awesome, the staff go out of their way to to make you feel welcome. When we got off the bus Alberto was there to greet us and escort us to our apartment, an historic building once used as a stable, now converted into a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Since the restaurant only serves dinner, the apartment has a well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. The view from the apartment is breathtaking, overlooking the hillside and valley planted with olive trees and grape vines. We came to relax, and that we did, meandering around the farm and following a path that lead nowhere but was a great workout . I highly recommend taking the castle tour, wine tasting and cooking class. The history of the castle is intriguing, the wines produced here are excellent, and making a delicious three course dinner in a castle kitchen is something you only get to do once in a lifetime. This is a very special place, it’s hard to imagine not falling in love with it.
Cons: I liked everything
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was amazing and we loved touring the winery and walking in the surrounding area. The dedication to relaunching chianti production and olive oil was inspiring.
Cons: Cottages had, in our view, too minimal supplies. One roll of toilet paper? No sugar or salt in kitchen. We didn't expect to need to supply everything for food etc. For a two night stay on an international trip, it would have been silly and wasteful to buy all the basic supplies.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place is absolutely amazing. The room (or better called a house) is fully furnished and everything was perfectly clean. The staff was also very friendly and the restaurant where we had dinner was perfect. Having the tour in the castle as well as wine tasting included for those staying in the hotel was a plus.
Cons: The bed could be more comfortable but besides that everything was just perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view, the private pool and the cooking class!
Cons: A more varied menu in the restaurant.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fantastic castle your cookery course. Our guide and chef were real characters. Great wines. Amazing views. Lovely new apartment with lots of amenities.
Cons: The bed was a little hard. We didn’t get to try the on-site restaurant due to a wedding and the customary Monday closed day - which was a shame.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The scenery was spectacular especially with the grape vines down from our window and the grape harvest in full swing. The wine tasting was great. The wedding in the Castle with the backdrop and then the meal in the cellar were excellent
Cons: There is no detergent for the dishwasher or washing machine and only one toilet roll for a 5 day stay, and the nearest village is2.5km away
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner Their flexibility
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with great views. Very helpful and kind staff with passion for their job. Will be back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the kind of experience that you can only dream about :). Truly amazing. The staf was exceptionally kind, helpful and professional. Authenticity at it's best. Thank you for having us here.

Cons: The place was hard to find using GPS but once we found it is was very nice and secluded and quiet too.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Parking is desaster and no climatisation in rooms, and difficult for payment price for food restaurants too high for the quality off food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, well cared guest house with the touch of the Italian history. Located near Florence (17min by train) in the quiet rural area. Owners run restaurant nearby (10-15min walking) with great selection of home made food from Toscana (they use their own production of meat, pasta and vegetables) at incredibly low prices. We had two dinners there and it was like a epicure discovery :)
Cons: Nothing. All at it’s best and even exceeded our expectations
6.8 Good
Pros: Peace and quality of beds
Cons: No WiFi at all. The Property is never at the hotel. Not enough towels
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in a perfect location and the Staff couldn’t do enough for us.... big shout out to Stefan you are the perfect host we cannot thank you enough xx
Cons: Perfect
5.8 Okay
Pros: Screened windows, close proximity to wedding venue, the owner provided transportation a few times
Cons: No warning about Day Camp dates or the fact that only some rooms were equipped with air conditioning, there seemed to be a lack of communication between hotel and restaurant staff. We were offered a ride into Florence on the morning of our departure and instead we’re dropped off at a random train station ten minutes away. We ended up missing our train.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: It did not have any tea or coffee making facilities or water, fridge in the rooms. These would have made our stay perfect.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was situated in the hills
Cons: Felt a little empty. The housekeeper made it feel warm and inviting but When she wasn’t around, it felt a little cold
9.5 Excellent

9.4 Excellent (20 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, fruit, delicious croissant and very good coffee. Big rooms with wonderful views and lots of great paintings
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, beautiful secluded location in a small village with stunning views. Centuries old villa beautifully furnished and restored, full of charm and character, art and beautiful decor throughout. Comfy big bed, spacious room with a nice view. Very good value for money. Best to travel with car but public transport from Florence is easy to use too. Highly recommended, much better than other places for similar price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host Desa and the family are so welcoming that you feel as their private guest. The family is an Art family and they all paint, The house if full of pictures and atmosphere. The rooms are huge and the whole house in spite of the age ( over 3 oo years) is fully renovated and modernised. The rooms are huge and the bet very comfortable, We were lucky to be the only guests as otherwise the bathroom is shared by the guests. The rooms are on the first floor with steep stairs as the ceilings are at least 4m high. Dese helped us with planning winery visits and buying olive oil from the local manufacturer. If you want to visit the best ( in my opinion winery) go to Lamole di Lamole . It is a 45 to 60 minutes drive, but worth the trip. There are dozens of wineries in Tuscany, but this is the best
Cons: It was too short

Cons: One of the rooms had the shower out in the room, like in the open, which we didn't know until we got there. Not sure if it was in the pictures.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is amazing. Breakfast like we never had before at a hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice place witha good view. The food was also good and we got breakfast even though we overslept. A nice stay overall.
Cons: The road to the villa. It would be nice to get a heads up before arriving that the road is not in google maps. We followed the navigation, drove on an awful road and than had to go back and use the correct road that is also quite bumpy but better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place, the villa, the views are out of this world, the food the wine everything was so so good. The staff were so friendly. Can't say enough about this place
Cons: Not one thing to dislike this place is amazing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was very good.
Cons: The shower was leaking but they fixed it quickly.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Well. The place looks beautiful by day but is the hounted house of horror by night.
Cons: It is impossible to find. If you want an ”American horrorstory Hotel” -experience, go here. For thrill-seekers / ghost busters it is a 10/10.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff! Always willing to help. Unlike the bathroom, the bedroom was sizeable and had a great view of the surrounding gardens and hills. Comfortable bed, sheets crispy clean. Breakfast ok, staff always there to serve hot cappuccino.
Cons: Considering the building itself, beautiful, majestic. Not so in the bathroom, it was small and pokey makeshift/motel made of poor quality materials. Even shelving was propped up by visible nails in a slapstick way. Nothing to do with the original structure. The floor of the shower was made from wood and felt slimy when wet....I felt dirty in i! From the moment I entered my room, it smelt of stale cigarette smoke. The last guest smoked himself crazy in the toilet. I’m amazed that this was not monitored better. No privacy from other rooms as the walls were obviously ‘created’ to cram in many rooms as possible in the small pokey space provided on the mezzanine floor. Having said that, my actual bedroom was spacious and had an amazing view. Using the airconditioner for heating, I had to switch it off at night as it rattled and kept me awake. At breakfast, no toaster to make toast. I was offered to have my bread toasted in the oven, I refrained. No tea and coffee facilities in the room. I stayed there four days and I yearned for a cup of tea throughout the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this is the 2nd time I have stayed here and it is 5* everything . The view from our room ( Phantom of the Opera) was fantastic over looking the mountains and the garden. The host cannot do enough for you and even had a glass of prosecco for me on arrival . I will be definitely be back next year
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect

6.8 Good
Pros: Fabulous setting with great views and pool
Cons: Apartment wasn't as clean as we would have liked and there was no air conditioning!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from our apartment was amazing. It was great to wake up every morning and see the fabulous hills. Staying at the farm was a great opportunity to experience the real Tuscan countryside. Ideal if you like an authentic rustic farm experience and you will see plenty of wildlife from birds, butterflies and bees. The shop/reception/bar onsite was opened daily with friendly staff available to deal with any enquiries. It was the place to buy wine and olive oil produced by the estate or buy a beer to drink outside under the shelter of the olive trees. Wine was decently priced from 5 euros to 18 euros. Try the vin Santo - amazing. Also fresh bread and crossiants can be ordered daily from the reception for your breakfast. Cooking in our apartment and eating outside was a highlight (but bring insect repellant). However the farmhouse restaurant buffets are definitely worth going to. The food is fresh and tasty, with plenty of choices. Definitely attend Wednesdays music and buffet nights, where staff will sing along and dancing is encouraged. Also go on the tour of the estate and learn about its past. If you like a simple laid back holiday with a good dose of history then this is the place to visit.
Cons: The shower curtain - was rickety, not efficient and tricky to adjust around the person who is showering. This meant a lot of water went on the floor, so lots of mopping after each shower was required. Would be better if there was a rail around the top of the bath so that the curtain can be drawn around the inside of the bath.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice view, bread in the morning. Pool, wine tasting, etc.
Cons: We come here for many years. Each time its becomes less. There is more renovation needed.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and pool. I had read the reviews and they were accurate so I was expecting basic accomodation.its a pity they dont address some of tbe issues ( towels, air con..), as its a lovely farmstead.
Cons: It advertises marked walks and cycles in the area around tbe property. There were unused dirt tracks, often leading nowhere or dangerous to use. Unsuitable for bikes.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, pool, interesting things to do.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very helpfull and friendly. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The view from the apartment terrace is amazing. The pool area is very nice and with a panoramic view. We had a lovely time there. It’s our second stay at Fattoria Di Castiglionchio - and not our last!
Cons: The bed could be more comfortable. It was quite hard.

7.5 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, clean well appointed rooms.
Cons: We arrived to check in around 3:30 and rang the bell repeatedly (door locked). We actually started to leave when finally someone came out. No apology either. And the wifi in the rooms didn’t work. Complaining did nothing. Wouldn’t stay here again - especially for the price.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Room was too hot. No aircon system and no fan offered either.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish, fresh with good facilities
Cons: Wifi in bedrooms not working but available in restaurant.
7.5 Good
Pros: More a restaurant with rooms than a hotel. Good wifi. Good a/c
Cons: I sent messages via this site to the management but when I arrived there was no-one there, although I could hear the phone ringing inside. Room with a view of someone's backyard. TV on the desk - meaning you couldn't sit at the desk while the tv was on. Expensive for a place without breakfast. No one around when I checked out.
