Pros: Hacienda designed with comfort and convenience. Amazing gardens and views throughout. Senior Tato’s hospitality was unparalleled. Also they provide a really first class breakfast. And the double bath room is amazing . Just fill it once, wait 15-20 and fill rest of way. And you will really appreciate the bath after trekking Machu Pichu and traveling throughout the sacred valley.
Cons: No complaints at all. Everything was perfect.

Pros: We booked the suite and were thrilled with the beautiful room, very comfortable bed and we totally fell in love with the amazing view! This is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long Peru trip. Toto made this Place beautiful with so many details, beautiful garden... he and his staff are really nice, very helpful and make great suggestions for hikes and dinner places. Pisac is amazing to enjoy the sacred valley in a bit less crowded area. Nature around is amazing and you barely meet anybody on the hiking trails. We would have loved to stay longer! Thank you Toto, for the amazing stay!

Pros: We had such nice stay at Allpawasi! I am very glad we stayed for 2 nights, not only is the hotel an oasis with total tranquility, they definitely have the best breakfast amongst all hotels we stayed in Peru. Many farm products and fresh ingredients. We had a nice room with balcony overseeing the mountains and the farm. It’s easy to go take Tuktuk to the Pisac market, and short taxi ride to the ruins. Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Cusco region. Tato and the staff were super helpful. Really appreciate Tato’s kindness and support throughout our stay to make our trip most comfortable. Would love to come back again!
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Beautiful property and facility. The facility is warm, inviting, relaxing, and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. Easy and safe 15 minute walk into town (or 5 soles tuk tuk). The rooms are wonderful, firm beds, mini-fridge and safe, plenty of storage space and nice sitting area. Multiple places around the property (both inside and out) to just relax and enjoy the view. Bathrooms are spotless. Breakfast wonderful. Definitely will return.

Pros: Our stay was relaxing and peaceful. The staff were friendly, very helpful and always available. Liberta helped us with printing our airline tickets and with sourcing goods from the market. It was a short walk to the market which was fine.
Cons: We liked everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was from far the best place we stayed in within this price range. Loved it!! The staff was super friendly and very helpful at all times. The breakfast was outstanding - rich, offering great choices and very yummy, freshly cooked in the open kitchen. Beds were comfortable and warm, a hot shower with a great shower head. The room was smallish but very conveniently laid out. The place is decorated with a lot of taste. Very homy and pleasant to hang around when you are tired from walking around town and ruins.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel I stayed in during my trip in sacred valley! The personnel is very nice, caring and welcoming, always happy to help! The hotel is pretty, clean and rooms have hot water and a heater at disposition (very useful in the winter and not the case everywhere...). One other good point is the breakfast... try the homemade pancakes!!! They are amazing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Libertad was the one who welcomed me to the hotel with a cup of hot tea, during my entire stay she was very helpful at arranging my transportation and explaining how to get around. It is a beautifully decorated building within 4-5 minute walk to the center of Pisac. Breakfast was fantastic! it was basically a 3 course meal with main option that they prepare fresh for you in the kitchen. Coca Tea is available at all times to help with the altitude sickness. There was a small space heater included in my room which wasn't so powerful but really helped considering how cold it got at night. None of my other hotels had a heater, only here. They also have super cute animals that hang around the property during the day. It was very nice and I would stay here again if I returned to Pisac.
Cons: I don't think I would change anything, I had quite a nice stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay - really recommend it. A very chilled out place with very helpful staff. The breakfasts were so good and by far the best I’ve had in Peru, really recommended the pancakes. We stayed in a twin room and the beds were very comfy, the shower was hot and the room had a big rug which made it warm. We had a heater too. It was my birthday whilst I was there and they made me a special birthday pancake for breakfast - so kind! Thank you so much for our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff makes the whole difference! The front desk manager, Libertad, makes you feel like home away from home. Very professional and caring about our needs, also gave us the best advices of where to go in town. Breakfast time is a ritual of love in that kitchen! Everyone willing to help and create the best environment for the guests!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful, very welcoming and helpful when I asked questions or needed my bag to be held after check out. The breakfast was amazing (the banana pancakes were so good!). The room was very nice, big and comfortable. I loved that they provided a space heater for the cold winter night I was there. It was about a 10 minute walk to the center, but I wouldn't stay anywhere else in town.
Cons: My key was a bit stiff in unlocking my door. One time I needed help, but a staff member ran up the stairs to help before I even asked.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super nice and accommodating. The space is beautiful and comfortable. Loved the breakfast, too!
Cons: The showers were very cold though.

Pros: In all of my years of traveling, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The value you get for the money in this area is phenomenal. There is always hot water for your shower, the WiFi always works, and the rooms are always clean. The staff is excellent, and the owners, Janny and Alberto, are absolutely lovely. Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted with a cup of hot tea. Every evening at 4pm, a hot water thermos is set outside your door for daily complimentary tea. Need a soda or snack? Their attached store has all the basics at good prices. Need to make change from your big bills? They will gladly do this for you. Need to borrow a hiking pole because you left your's back home and want to hike back down the Pisac ruins? Janny will happily lend you her's. Need anything at all? Janny and Alberto will take care of it. After staying for 7 nights, I have no complaints whatsoever and highly recommend this hotel. If I ever make it back to Pisac, I will not stay anywhere else. This place is a hidden gem.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Great breakfast. Friendly owner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough, this was a fantastic place to stay at! The main reason is that Janny and Alberto really look after their guests. Janny speaks English quite well (a bonus in Pisac) and I was able to approach her for help or advice so easily, she really cares. Most definitely this is the place to stay at.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kitamayu is an excellent option if you're looking for a place to stay in Pisac. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with good hot water and fast wifi. The owners are friendly and will give you advice about things to do in Pisac and the surrounding area. They provide a good breakfast plus tea and hot water in the afternoons. The location is good - a short walk from the Plaza de Armas/market and the Pisac ruins.

Pros: Janny is the sweetest host and goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you Janny

Pros: Janny, the owner, was super helpful and spoke good English. For US$1 she loaned us a small fan heater for the night to take the chill off the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very attractive with an inner courtyard full of flowers and areas to sit. The dining room is lovely too. Most welcoming with cups and different teas in bedroom and a thermos of hot water in the afternoon. Bedroom tastefully arranged and also flowers. We arrived mid morning which wasn’t a problem. The owner gave us lots of information and was very attentive. Upon arrival she gave us some tea. We didn’t want to leave!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: This was my second time staying here, and it was just as great as the first time! The value you get for the money in this area is phenomenal. There is always hot water for your shower, the WiFi always works, the rooms are always clean, and the owners are always very friendly and helpful. I was suffering from a little altitude sickness and Janny and Alberto gave me lots of hot coca tea until I felt better. Their attached store is very convenient and has lots of snacks, drinks, and money changing capabilities. Their entire staff and family work hard to make sure you enjoy your stay. It is a lovely little place that feels like home. After staying for 5 nights this second time, I have no complaints whatsoever and highly recommend this hotel. If I ever make it back to Pisac, I will not stay anywhere else. This place is the best value in town.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious! The property was stunning, bed was comfortable and staff was extremely friendly and hospitable
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sachi gave us a lovely welcome and he's a super smily, happy person. He showed us round the house and told us to make ourselves feel at home. The house has a big garden and a lovely terrace with a great view of the mountains. The bed is super comfortable, and we appreciated the super comfy mattress and pillows. The shower is lovely and has different jets. Calin made us lovely breakfasts (different each day) and we enjoyed chatting to both him and Sachi. They are both lovely people. It's about a 15 minute walk from the centre (or 2 soles in a little Moto), but nice and quiet at night. Nice walk up the side of the Inca hotel along the river. Good for seeing the stars. All in all a very relaxing comfortable stay. Thanks guys.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I've been traveling in South America for 5 months and during these past two weeks at Sachi Ayni I have felt the most at home. Where to begin... first let me start with the house -- it's incredibly comfortable and cozy: the beds are really soft and warm with memory foam pillows, there are multiple rooms to relax in (upstairs mattresses and pillows on the floor, downstairs really comfortable couches, and backyard with lounge chairs), and the kitchen is perfect for cooking (I hadn't cooked while traveling but I have only cooked during the past two weeks, all with fresh produce from the market). I've also ben working on my computer throughout my stay and the WiFi has ben lightening fast. Among the fastest during my travels. Next, let me tell you about Sachi and Calin (the two managers). They always greet you with a smile, and a hug if you're open to hugs :), and are a pure joy to be around and talk to. They bring such zen and positivity. I could talk forever about how wonderful they are on personal levels but I'll leave that for you to discover. Calin makes delicious breakfast and coffee every morning, and Sachi keeps the house in a state of pristine cleanliness. They're both wealths of knowledge on what to do and see in Pisac. Throughout these two weeks there have been several other travelers that have filtered through the house, which allowed me to make friends. It's a little more quiet than a standard hostel, so be prepared to relax and get to know the other travelers on a deeper level if that's of interest to you. Finally, the landscape and location -- the backyard has a beautiful view of the mountains, and there's a pond behind the house with running water for tranquility. Down the street is one my favorite hiking trails, directly before arriving at the bridge on your right.
Cons: Nothing - I love everything about Sachi Ayni!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house in the perfect location! Great breakfast and the hosts are amazing!

Pros: Easy access to the Pisac archaeologic site which was spectacular!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was super cozy and the receptionist was incredibly helpful (I had a lot of questions about Pisac). The breakfast (included) was good. It’s very well-located right on the main square with a little terrace overlooking the square (where the market is).
Cons: Having clean water to refill water bottles is nice to not waste plastic but I think it should be free for guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, excellent food, excellent location! The staff helped us arrange airport taxi with a few stops along the way. Also, a taxi up to Pisaq. We enjoyed lunch at there restaurant and bbn it was excellent! The breakfast in the morning was delicious as well. All food was fresh and prepared to order.
Cons: The ground floor rooms are noisy due to outdoor seating. Our room was right next to the housekeeping closet. If you are on the ground floor you won't be able to sleep once the upstairs occupants are awake and moving around. It is very noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is small, cozy and has everything you need. The staff take care of you as if they were your family. They are attentive and wants to ensure you feel confortable. I definitively recommend to stay on this place. The rooms are clean and they have a heater, which is awesome!
Cons: Nothing comes to my mind.

Pros: Fantastic! Right on the main square so lots going on. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. We stayed longer because we enjoyed it so much
Cons: Nothing - if you want somewhere super quiet this may not be the best choice as the main square is busy but it really just adds to the atmosphere.

Pros: Amazing location! The most beautiful setting you can imagine. The owners and staff are wonderful people who I will greatly miss.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Large bathroom with lovely hot shower. Super comfy beds with lots of bedding. Set in a lovely garden on the edge of town it's quiet at night. Hosts were super helpful with insights and suggestions and arranging transport to the Pisac ruins. The breakfasts were lovely fresh fruit and juice and an interesting selection of teas - some with fresh herbs. The evening meal they prepared for us was excellent - catering for a vegetarian and also giving us a pre starter of different types of potato plus two sauces after we showed a desire to see what the different Peruvian potatoes were like. They even put on a display of uncooked potatoes complete with labels :)
Cons: The rooms do get quite chilly but they do provide heaters.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was located 5 mins walk from the town which made it really quite and calm, had the best nights sleep there! The owners Jorge and Sibel are amazing people who will go out of their way to help you and make sure your comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with a great variety to choose from. Beautiful garden to wander around and relax in the sun if desired. Will definitely be returning when I come back to Pisac! Awesome place! Thanks for being amazing, loving people!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are wonderful people very kind. The room was great I had a lot of space it was comfortable and quite. They had a heater which is a big deal especially at night during the fall. They also give you your own tea kettle. The land there is beyond beautiful and amazing. I had to leave earlier then originally planned so I just left a note because nobody was around that early in the morning. Honestly I slept majority of the day & night so didn't get much of a chance to look around.
Cons: I was not clear on the payment process. I thought it was paid on booking and it was not. Since I left early in the morning I was already in a town that did not have much access to get back there or to put money in the bank but they worked it out with my tour guide leader. Also take note that there is no direct car access you can take a little motor car or just walk about 5 mins. Since it was my 1st time in Peru and my 1st day it was definitely an adventure.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A real pleasur to stay there and to meet Sibele and Jorge. You are surounded by love and happiness in this place. They know and share so much about the aera, mythology and cosmology of the Andes. We will come back for sure!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The moto taxi dropped us off at the gate, about 5 minutes from the main square in Pisac, & tranquility and calm surrounded us. The garden is beautiful with small houses in the grounds each with outside seating. The dogs barked but were not at all aggressive and it felt quite reassuring to have them on the premises. Although we arrived a bit early Nora prepared our rooms and made us very welcome. Sibel and Jorge were incredibly friendly; we enjoyed hearing the history of the property and the characters connected with La Casa del Conde. The beds are comfortable and the woodburner takes the edge off the chill of the morning over delicious breakfast. We asked for an evening meal and this was full of Peruvian specialities cooked perfectly. We brought our own wine and had a fantastic last evening watching the sun go down over the sacred valley. Jorge suggested walks from the property & we went by the river. Amazing place and lovely people. Thank you!
Cons: Probably worth mentioning on the booking.com site that it is about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town.Easy to get a small moto taxi along the small track.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were longing for calmness, beautiful nature and fresh air, and we found just what we were looking for here. Beautiful location, clean and cosy cabin with comfortable beds and a nice hot water shower. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and accommodating hosts.
Cons: Difficult to find without any signs (that we could see) pointing the way from Pisac. There are free-roaming dogs on the property. They are friendly on their own, but together they form a pack that act aggressively towards visitors. It’s not very nice getting chased and barked at by a pack of dogs when you’re just trying to get to your room or find someone from the management. Some of the dogs were young and still learning at the time of our visit, so I doubt this will be a problem in the future.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely beautiful old house, just out of Pisac town with a beautiful nature all around! Breakfast was above expectations, the hosts were fantastic and helpful!
Cons: All was good.

Cons: The shower water was not warm enough.

Pros: Hospedaje Inti is a great place to stay in Pisac, on a street a few blocks back from the main plaza. My room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are also great views of the surrounding hills from the roof.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and suited my needs.
Cons: It was loud on the street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is quite possibly the best hostel I have ever experienced. The bed was cozy and comfortable. The courtyard and common areas were welcoming. Breakfast was delicious (scrambled eggs, strong coffee, bread, butter and jam). Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. The location was absolutely superb - only a few minutes from the local market. There was filtered water in the shared sink, so we didn't have to purify the water before drinking it. Towels were provided,m and the shower was hot.
Cons: Nothing at all - the hosts thought of everything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super clean! Friendly staff. My own room for the same price as a dormitory in many places. Beautiful views from the rooftop. Pretty patio with lots of flowers. Very quiet, you get a good nights sleep.
Cons: No light by the bed. Far to the main switch when its dark at night. No trash bin, asked for a plastic bag to throw trash in. Would have bin a bonus to have a mirror in the room, then you don’t have to take up time in the bathroom just to use the mirror. No use of kitchen, so you can’t prepare tea, coffee or breakfast which for me was a disadvantage when you want to save some money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A really great place to stay. Clean rooms and conveniently located near the start of the walk up to the Pisac ruins. The staff were really helpful as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cutest little hotel right near the entrance to the Pisac hike. The owner is so sweet and kind and the accommodations are very comfortable. The bed was super comfy and we had a nice hot shower. There was also a laundry service available that we would have taken advantage of if we had more time. It's a bit on the edge of the town (although Pisac is a small town) and within walking distance of everything, including some great restaurants and bars. Definitely a good stay for a very little price.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was great!

Pros: Stay here! This was our favorite place of our whole trip!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were attentive and helpful. We went during slow season, and I think we might have been the only guests there, so it was great to have the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful private balcony overlooking the river, so in touch with nature and peaceful. It was a bit far from town for us, but only a 15-20minute walk really, we were just tired from a long trip. And I understand that the water comes from the river for your bath and sink, so it takes a while to heat up, but I ran my bath for 45 minutes straight to let it heat up, and it never got above room temperature. I saw they had bathtubs and was SO excited to finally soak in a tub after an exhausting trip, but it didn’t work out that way. Maybe they were just low on gas, I definitely don’t want to complain and totally understand that it’s difficult get certain amenities way off in the woods, just at the time I was really looking forward to it. And, for those of you who are a bit higher-class, the bath water was brown. Again, it’s river water, so fresh and amazing, but very brown. Just a heads up for those of you who get a bit queasy with those types of things. I can’t stress enough that the staff were great, accommodating, and the place was gorgeous.
Cons: Hotter bath water!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The food at the hotel (both breakfasts and extra dinners ordered) were delicious. The gentleman running the lodge is a great cook.
Cons: The staff were slightly disorganised at times but resolved issues when we highlighted them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and service with attention to detail.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great surroundings, very friendly staff
Cons: No water pressure in shower. A bit cold at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This lodge is in a fabulous location in the heart of the sacred valley countryside. It’s just a 15 minute walk into the charming Pisac Village. It’s been designed to make the most of the beautiful scenery. Saul, the manager (and chef!) was so helpful and friendly. I have loved my 3 nights here. It’s a great place to stay to make the most of the Pisac ruins and others in this area rather than doing long day trips from Cusco.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel owners were appreciated for hard trying to solve the inconvenience, incl. to giving a discount on room price. The rooms are really big and inviting, clean, with balcony, directly on river side. Big-big plus: the rooms have a heater :) also you will get a simple but delicious breakfast!
Cons: Coming to the hotel, the staff informed that they didn't get the reservation, even though booking.com confirmed 2 days before. They relocated us to another hotel on their costs and paid the taxi to pick-up on next day (we booked 2 nights in total). Unfortunately forgot to bring us towels later on, but we could clear it.

6.8 Good
Pros: They had electric blankets which was awesome as the nights are cold
Cons: Hotwater was not always available just sometimes a bit tricky
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved staying at La Chakana. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the staff fabulous. They were very sensitive to the needs of those traveling for spiritual and consciousness exploration. I appreciated that. I really liked the location - away from town but easy to walk if in the mood, or take a moto for less than $1. I tried La Chakana for a night, liked it and stayed for another week. Came back again after a 10 day retreat. They had a good quality shared kitchen, with free filtered water and tea.
Cons: The bathrooms are shared, not private. I would have liked an in-house breakfast option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Chakana is a lovely, quiet sanctuary. I loved staying there during my visit in Pisac.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location away from the noise of the center, nice to have a kitchen to use, good views of ruins. The Guests who use this location tend to be longer-term guests. They were some of the friendliest people we met on our three week trip in Peru.
Cons: The bedsheets were not clean, the bathroom could also use some cleaning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical place to stay. Gocia the hostess was incredible. Loved my room. Bathroom was lovely. Views amazing. I was travelling without a guitar and going through withdrawals and there were 2 guitars at the hotel that I was able to use! Stoked. Definite recommendation.
Cons: It was hard to find it in the taxi when we arrived as no street number was provided and it was not clearly signed.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Could be charming for 2 if in good shape
Cons: The bedsofa in the living room turned out to be a mattress under the stairs But not enough - the charming looking room had big spots of mold and on top the bed was not clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved La Chakana so much we extended our stay 3 times. I don’t even know where to begin. The location is perfect, just outside of town but at the base of the Pisac ruins and a beautiful river. The views are absolutely breathtaking! The people we met at La Chakana became like family. Everyone we met was very kind and the place has a very healing nature to it. There is a very communal vibe but at the same time everyone has their own space. The large kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking utensils and a great place to make meals together. La Chakana was by far our favorite place we stayed and the highlight of our trip. We can’t wait for our next trip to Pisac and will defianately stay at La Chakana again!!!

Pros: Nice green court yard, wifi great, mini kitchen but very basic. Great location, market is 3minute walk away.

Pros: lovely garden, friendly and helpful staff, comfy room; would stay here again
Cons: not enough light in the room, and the one bulb there is, needs to be switched off by turning in, otherwise light continues intermittently at night; breakfast should be included
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic courtyard where the kids could stretch their legs! The hotel moved us from a family room to two much nicer twin rooms as there was a maintenance issue.
Cons: The road outside the hotel is quite busy and therefore quite noisy at night. Earplugs solved the problem!
5.5 Okay
Pros: - Very close to the Pisac market and Pisac ruins. - Hot water bottles so needed during the cold nights. - Friendly staff. - Nice garden.
Cons: The first night we did not have any water at all and we couldn't find the staff to ask about it (it was already after 22 when we realized). Next morning the lady open the water (still no idea why they switched it off for a night), however, we never got a warm one. No hairdryer to borrow, what after the cold shower is really needed. Room was very cold in the night and even during the day when it was warm outside. Bathroom walls were not really clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and even comped us breakfast one morning. A relaxed vibe in a very central location.

7.5 Good
Pros: Location was very good and good atmosphere in the house and area.
Cons: The room was not very private at all - seperated from the main communal lounge by a glass door which was covered by an ill-fitted curtain that kept falling down. Also only one bathroom for all people in the house. The manager also made it very difficult for us to reduce the length of our stay (even with 5 days notice) and made it our problem that they didn't get another booking - we paid for an extra night but the whole thing felt very unprofessional.

Pros: Beautiful house just outside of Pisac. Very quiet at night, very calm. Spent lots of time at the house relaxing and cooking. The fire place is great on nights that are chillier.

Pros: There was a plug in the bathroom basin! The room was spacious if plain. They knew I was coming and had thought about where to put my bike overnight. Good value.
Cons: No breakfast. It probably says so in the small print but still a disappointment. It's on the main street so traffic noise after about 6.30. I had a good hot shower on arrival but I got the impression hot water was rationed.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! The great and amazing hospitality of Joice and Chito is worth everything. They realy made us to feel that "mi casa as tu casa"= my home is your home. We really felt at home- good warm, cozy home. Another great thing is that so many things and activities are taking place in Melissa Wassi, that most of the time you want to stay in the hotel and not to go into town, and it also suggest deaner if you feel like staying in... We want to come back!! If we would have the luck to work again in Peru in June or October- both of us want to go back to Melissa Wassi. Love that place!!!! ❣❣❣
Cons: The only little thing was that the hotel wasn't in the center of Pisac, as I thought from the location on the map, but it is a short walk to town. 20 minutes walking, and there are plenty of taxi-meter (like Tuk-Tuk) for only 3 soles from town to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
5.5 Okay
Pros: lovely facilities, natural and tasteful architecture & decoration
Cons: i did not like the place. maybe it’s me, but when i enter a remote rural facility that is totally foreign to me, and where i have a reservation, and there is not a soul in sight to tell me what is what and where, I find it impossible to enjoy the place. and after using my own intincts and managing to walk half an hour to the center of village and returning, i don’t want to be welcomed by a man (owner) looking at me with a puzzled face (despite my explaining I am the guest at no. x) like “who the hell are you and where the hell did you come from??” i did not get one smile or one welcome or one good will gesture or one helpful tip to use or enjoy the place. when i wanted to pay, the hotel’s wifi was out, and the owner (instead of apologizing because it’s their fault and offering to wait untik maybe it is back on) shrugged and asked me to pay in cash. oh, and there is no wifi in the rooms nor in the restaurant area, only in the main house - where, if you want to sit and use the wifi, you have to sit with the owner (who to me seemed unfriendly and honestly creepy) in dead silence, and not move around the garden because then you lose the wifi. the breakfast “buffet” was seriously like a joke and it was even a sunday! i remember some comment here about how well fed they were by the breakfast buffet and i wondered whether i was at the wrong place: 2 bowls of marmelade, 2 boxes of butter, one type of dried bread, orange juice and tea. to be fair, they made eggs on demand. but seriously i left hungry - buffet?! no really, this service is a shame for these facilities.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean, well presented rooms, grounds are terrific and well maintained. Rooms were roomy and staff and owners are awesome people.
Cons: It was much further from Pisac than the map indicated. But it’s a nice walk into town and motor taxis are cheep and plentiful. There is no WIFI available in rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: That is was a bit apart from the noisy alleys.
Cons: Room 201 needs proper light blocking curtains (specially when there is a lamp post in from of the hotel that goes on and off). I took me hours to sleep. After complaining, next day we were upgraded to a suite room on the 6th floor that was amazing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Melissa Wasi was one of the top 10 places I've stayed in a life of travel. Why? It was a creative, peaceful property set in the middle of the small town of Pisac in the middle of the Andes. Our kids loved playing in the garden and with the friendly dogs. Joyce and Chito couldn't have been more lovely taking care of us. We had a very nice dinner of homemade soup and delicious trout and a breakfast of eggs, rolls, homemade jam, and fresh fruit. We arrived at Melissa Wasi exhausted, bedraggled travelers, and left rejuvenated and happy. One more recommendation - Pisac is a great place to spend a night or two before going to Cusco or Macchu Picchu because it is a little lower altitude and a nice quiet country place. We enjoyed the market and the Condor sanctuary and llama/vicuna/alpaca/guanaco 15 minutes away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in Melissa Wasi was the best decision for Pisac. The property is truly beautiful and well maintained. I loved my two storey house with a gorgeous fireplace, a warm modern shower and a beautiful big bed. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, I even had a chance to borrow some warm clothing. This is a very special place and I am grateful for having spent a week there.
