The decor of rooms were quite nice, modern and clean. A/C didn't work and it was over 100 that day outside. Creepy guy slept in his car outside of our room, I called and asked security to come by twice to check it our which they did not. Traffic noise from nearby highway was awful, building needs double panes windows.
Cigarette burns on the comforter.
There was a fight in the parking lot and a heroin addict wandering the grounds the whole night. Definitely an adventure!
Location,restaurant and room.
The room was large, clean, and bed comfy. Just what we wanted. Check in was a breeze, and the indoor pool was lovely. There was no blow dryer in the room, just a minor thing. And also no towels are available at the pool so bring some from your room! The biggest problem we had was at around midnight someone jiggled our door handle and tried to come in. I looked out the peep hole and saw a staff member walking around looking confused. our phone has just rung minutes before that happened, waking us both. Also, we had our do not disturb sign up but the maids still knocked and tried to enter early in the morning.
Manager's reception Tuesday nights. If you have considerate (quiet) neighbors on both sides and above you, and you don't want to sleep in, this hotel is fine. Thin walls and ceilings. Old carpet. Did not get room I requested. Food at the bar is average at best. Housekeeping started knocking on the door at 8:15am.
Excellent bed, television, cable tv selection, fast and consistent wifi, pool and hot tub. Trader Joes across the street to stock the in room fridge. Inexperienced restraunt staff, across the board.

Spacious room, very clean and quiet. Hefty valet charge--but no other parking options (like a parking lot), which for a suburban hotel is odd and unexpected.
Nothing I do not plan to use Hilton if I can avoid it in the future.

Beautiful view from the 10th story of the Oakland hills First night we arrived to an open bottle of almost empty wine in the warm fridge which caused the room and fridge a near permanent odor. The a/c durino our stay seemed to only work 70% of the time. 2nd day the shower was draining so slow that the water reached your calves and it took to days to be fixed. The door to the bath room was near to falling off its hinges. The fact it cost more than the much better crown plaza hotel and paying 15$ to self park. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, I'd suggest the crown plaza down the street.
Everything apart from parking $18 to park is kinda ridiculous when your already a paying guest staying at their hotel. Basically s back handed way to make their room rates look cheaper. They reduce the room rate by 20 bucks and then add a $20 parking fee.....
I arrived at 2ish, was really hungry, and went straight to grab a drink and bite from the restaurant. It was nice to know it was open. After such a long drive, was not in the mood to get back into my car after checking in to go look for an outside restaurant. And especially, the room was ready didn't have to wait til 3pm. Thank you 2 things I didn't like.... 1. Once I got into the room wanted to relax before heading out to a business dinner. I believe there was a basketball tournament. I can hear the kids out in the hallway being loud. 2. I think your prices at the restaurant are a little too pricey.

The room was nice and clean. Staff was a little rude, and didn't really want to help us out. Also the additional $50 a night for insurance no one told us about. And they charge you $18 a night for parking whether you park there or not. The food wasn't the best, I've had better food at a complimentary breakfast buffet. Definitely not $17 worth. The people in the room next to us were smoking weed and the entire hallway reeked. For what you pay, I expected more from Hilton.
We wound up here by accident--my mom was very ill and having emergency surgery, our train was delayed...I am disabled, in a wheelchair, was exhausted and traveling with my even more exhausted 7 year-old. We arrived to the friendliest, most patient staff ever...there was no rushing us and they simply helped us get to our room and rest. They were courteous and genuinely helpful at a time when my tank was well beyond empty. It was a wonderful place to recharge during a very difficult time! Very high marks to the staff!!! The rooms were also immaculate and extremely comfortable.

The lobby obviously had been renovated. The breakfast was a cut above for that kind of establishment. When checking in I was told that I wouldn't get any IHG Rewards points for my stay. Apparently, if the reservation is made through Hotels.com, there are no rewards points given to the guest--the very person who is paying the bill and to whom the points should be given! I don't care through whom I book a hotel room; I don't even think about it. Hotel rooms are booked through some sort of intermediary all the time. That's how the hotels fill their rooms: they use booking agents to get their rooms in front of the biggest audience of potential customers--duh! The most irksome thing about this is I purposely chose the Holiday Inn Express OUT OF LOYALTY. Why would I ever chose an IHG property again when they don't count every stay I make, every dollar I give them?

Efficient, clean and comfortable. Very well located for my needs. Good price. Staff very friendly and helpful. I stay there at least once a year since my older son lives around the corner but does not have space for me. It would be nice to have some vending machines/ice on the first floor.
We were thoroughly pleased with our stay. From the breakfast and lovely grounds, to the extra friendly staff, our time there was very enjoyable.
Location is convenient. Check-in staff has as much personality as a cardboard box. Hotel isn't super clean and lighting fairly dismal.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with us sorting out the various family names, who got what rooms that multiple bookings thru hotels.com caused. Key card glitches. Seemed like every time we left our rooms someone's key cards weren't working when we returned. Also, rooms could use a little updating, starting to look a little worn.
To be fair I'm a Marriott person and the Walnut Creek Marriott was full. This hotel isn't bad at all, it's just not the Marriott! ; ). Clean and kept, just if you are a light sleeper, make sure you don't get a room facing the freeway.
Hardwood floors, bath amenities noisy room, clicking sound all night, I was in a room located behind the elevators so I heard them running THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Updated hotel but I doubt I'd stay there again.
staff is very nice. First, had to move rooms, heat not working in the first. Second room, some TV channels not working. The place is newly renovated but the work is marginal in places, for example, in my room the composite floor planks (no carpet) had gaps to the subfloor. Been at this hotel a number of times, not sure its the same.

I love staying at the Walnut Creek Marriott! Every time I stay there the staff shows the most gracious hospitality. I always feel like I'm visiting friends every time I'm there. I am very particular about the hotels I stay in, and this is by far my favorite one. My room is always clean, and the area is always quiet. I can't think of a problem I've had that the Marriott staff resolved without issue because I've never had a problem with any of my reservations, room service orders, or special accommodations. Oh! I can remember that my most recent stay was the result of an unfortunate situation, and the staff gave me a complimentary $10 credit for a drink at the bar. I know it's small, but the gesture was nice; they acknowledged how upset I was and made an effort to brighten my day... that drink definitely helped! They new I needed it hahaha In any case, Walnut Creek Marriott is and will always be my first choice. N/A
This hotel has functionally become my second home. My husband and I are both from the bay area and this is the perfect spot central to all of the grandparents. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The service is excellent. By far, my favorite thing about this hotel is that it has an amazing gym with everything you could possible want. The kids world, made my children want to move to Walnut Creek, they loved it and want to know when we are coming back!. Cant say enough about this place, we love it!

Good location, good price Parties going on each night at the hotel. Loud music, I mean really loud. Police came to take away one party attender. Didn't feel that safe even though security was on site.

It was overall good I had not one but three bad run ins with Maria. She was just rude and made us feel like we were a bother. We had a question about the rewards program and she said she would have the other lady at the desk help us later what that doesn't make since your not doing anything, so we just left we didn't even stay the last two days at the hotel. Oh the house keeper was awesome

Beds were super comfy. Employees overall weren't very friendly. The guy who checked me in at 1 am was friendly. Others when I went to the desk to ask a question they didn't look up and greet me unless I started speaking to them. I work in the hospitality industry and this is not the way to treat guests who you want to return or give good reviews.
The beds were comfortable and linens were clean as well as the facilities. However the swimming pool was out of commission for some unknown reason, in spite of it looking quite inviting, but it was closed. The plumbing needs attention, lines were reversed and no drain plug for the sink.

Courteous staff. Ice machines. Dining area. Would have liked a small refrigerator in room. Would have liked free snack, fruit and yogurt with coffee in the morning. Would have liked block out curtains between the exercise area and the bar/entry area. Would have liked exercise bikes facing out, so that athlete doesn't have to face wall, having people watch her backside bounce on the treadmill.
What did you like? You were one of the only hotels with an indoor pool in the area. We booked two rooms next to each other for our family and a group of teen-age friends. With the door open the rooms felt like one contiguous room; it was easy to go back and forth. The outside patio was very nice and no one else was using it. The front desk staff were very nice. We liked the lobby; it had several areas, including a fireplace that felt homey. The housekeepers were very courteous. What didn't you like? No negatives.
Our room was fantastic. We paid a little over $100 and we were put in a room with a nice chaise lounge, a comfortable King bed, and (to our surprise) a kitchenette larger than the one in my first apartment! It comes stocked with all of the dishes, utensils, pots and pans you need to cook full meals! The staff was helpful, and they had no problem accommodating my request for no down pillows (I'm allergic). Overall, it was a fantastic stay at what felt like a luxurious hotel. We will be looking to stay here again when we come back to San Francisco.
The gym and breakfast was the best. It was also great to be so close to dinning and the freeway. Maid service never came. Was a little disappointing.

The room was very spacious. Liked the full kitchen, it's very helpful when traveling with children. Very quiet and relaxing at night, complimentary breakfast was great, convenient location with shops, theaters and restaurants within walking distance. The room was spot clean, overall a great experience. The shampoo and conditioner didn't work for me and it would have been nice to see a little more color in the room(my personal preference).
The rooms were clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and an extra blanket provided. Everything I used in the kitchen and living areas worked well, and the room was efficiently designed. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant, the made-to-order omelets were very good. I liked the close proximity to eateries and easy freeway access. Ample parking. Key card readers at all exterior doors worked well (not always the case, so happy to see). My room had an extremely noisy bathroom fan and the shower did not drain properly, so I would stand in 3 inches of water at the end. There was no ice when I got in, so I turned on the ice-maker, which was very loud the first night. The noise from the adjacent rooms shower was a very high pitched squeal (they showered at 5am).
Adequate parking, closeness to the freeway, the fact that we were near the front desk and did not have to carry luggage the length of the hotel! No.

We did not like not having a restaurant to go to after going clubbing which was down the street from the Best Western. So, instead, we walked next door to a gas station to grab frozen burritos and chips.

Our stay was just one night. We were completely unfamiliar with the area and needed the help of your staff who went beyond to help us in directions and suggestions for dining. We apprecitate their help very much. Your hotel was comfortable, clean and friendly.

The facility was very nicely decorated. The lobby, the breakfast room and my room were very nice. Some people might say luxurious, but I have very high standards. Early morning check out was easy and pleasant. Good offerings for breakfast. -I arrived late - after 8pm. The desk was a little slow to respond and looked bored. -The elevator was very slow and made a lot of noise - which doesn't make you feel all that safe. I was on the 3rd floor, so I used it a lot. - The biggest problem I had was that the wifi didn't work - total bummer.
Beds were super comfortable and the room was Nice and clean. I just wish I had tried the breakfast. Thermostat worked well which is very important. Room also had a mini fridge for milk. Shower head was a bit hard to adjust but I got it to twist.
Staff was extremly polite and helpful. Their hospiltality accomodations preseted in AM were excellent. Not at all!
The hotel apparently forgot/lost us after we checked in. When I went to check out they couldn't find the card we filled out or our credit card receipt. They thought we didn't show up on Friday and charged us a no show fee despite us checking in at 8:40pm on Friday. Araceli checked us in and told us about getting a job at Bank of America (in response to our B of A credit card). This explains why our room wasn't cleaned on Saturday, and possibly why someone tried to enter our room at 1am on Sunday morning (only to be stopped by the security latch). They couldn't figure out how to check us out on Sunday since they didn't know we were there!?! complete incompetence. They need to refund us the no show fee since we had pre-paid AND WERE THERE!

They had complimentary cookies and popcorn at check in. Our room was very spacious and clean. On the first try our key card didn't work, then after our key was reprogrammed we were not able to get in, the bathroom door blocked the entry way. The staff was super busy with checking people in and there was no sense of urgency to get us in our room.
My room was clean, neat, and suited my purposes just fine for my trip. The bathroom is large enough and has a tub which is important to me since I am a bather. The staff was friendly and courteous, helpful. I didn't use the breakfast room but it was full and active when I walked by. The only thing I had some difficulty with was the tub stopper. It wouldn't close tight enough to keep the water in. I had to put my heel on it to keep the water in. I reported the need for a repair at the desk when I left Saturday morning. Small inconvience - I would stay there again if in the future.

Nothing didn't stay after seeing room conditions. Stains on the sheets and strong smoke smell made us leave after we saw our room. Building was falling apart. Worst hotel I've ever been to glad I didn't stay the night. Wouldn't recommend.

No iron in the room, but there was an ironing board. Smelled a bit. Sketchy dudes hanging out in the lobby from 8pm until at least 11:30 when I went to bed. Not sure if they were undercover security or if watching Netflix on their phones from the lobby is better than being in their own rooms.

Fairly good location. 1) Ant infestation in room. 2) Small bathroom sink. No room to put toilet items. 3) Breakfast was terrible. Watery scrambled eggs, cold potatoes, same menu every day. Low quality selections. 4) Asked for quiet location and was put into one of the busiest areas on first floor near employee area, laundry and renovations. They completely ignored the request. 5) Was there over a year ago where they were replacing carpets on 3rd floor. The project was still not completed on all floors. 6) Was able to open a window to get fresh air, but there is no screen installed on the window. 7) Heard a story that a local inspector was threatening to shut them down unless they quickly implemented corrective actions. One gets the impression that the owners are cheap on preventive maintenance and only respond when forced to. The hotel seems busy, and so I speculate that they are making money and could afford renovations on an ongoing basis if they wanted to do them. 8) Very limited selections on TV.
The location and room was perfect, exactly what I was looking for, and what was offered. The room I saw was the room I got, and our host was welcoming and charming. The food and coffee was great, and everything in the room worked. The in-room fridge was a little noisy, and there was no screen on one of the view-facing windows, so it had to stay shut during the night. An earlier check in time and later check out time would be nice too. But these are minor details.

Room was clean. Bathroom smelled of strong disinfectant. No mold. Carpet decent. Shower was clean. Check in and check out were fast and easy. No electrical outlets at all on bed side of wall. We had to go by an extension cold to plug in sleep apnea machine. Small old tube TV and older decor.
This place was horrible charged me an extra day when i booked it to arrive at 1 am. first room we where given was trashed with the bed flipped up against the wall staff members where rude, and the room i was finally given was dusty and smelled rate negative stars if i could!!!

The location was good, which made getting in and out fairly easy. They gave us a room that impregnated everything we owned with that stale, musty stench of cigarette smoke and ash. At first we didn't think it would be that bad, and we didn't really have the time to waste complaining. But wow, we should have asked to change rooms! Then again, they never gave us a choice for smoking / non-smoking rooms. Also no outlets conveniently located. AND, we got no maid service for the 3 days we were there. They just dropped off new towels. So at the end of 3 days we had a pile of 9 scratchy towels.
