The hotel is close to the train station and offers parking. However, beware that you need to reserve the parking ahead of time, and even then, upon late arrival, such parking is not guaranteed. The room was small and the air conditioning was not working.
Right near downtown with free parking pass for parking right in front of hotel. Free internet access. Nice elevator. Right on river with access to walkway along river. Near autostrade. Carpet in stairway was filthy, food pricing was too high 8 Euro for breakfast is over 11.00 USD per person and TV choices minimal and movie pricing too high...For the price the hotel was a great deal and I would have no problem returning.
Relatively comfortable; quiet location yet only a short walk to the centre of Prato and to train station; clean room; very helpful staff. Air conditioning not powerful enough, small room.
The stuff was very friendly. Environment of the hotel is beautilul. It is near Firenze but the price is more cheaper. Absolutely nothing!
Availability, proximity to station
truly pleasant and helpful staff, good location in Prato and even better for side trips to Florence. Excellent price. The rooms are on the small side, though modernized
Location and price.
I likeed to stay in this hotel, it`s very comfortable the staff are very gentile and mine staing there was so calm and good! No, all was ok!
It was really close to the station and within 10 minutes walking distance to city center which made it very convenient. The rooms were reasonable. It was not a luxury hotel but we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. If you are going to Prato and need your cloth to be ironed urgently, bring an iron with yourself.
I was there for business, Its a very confortable hotel
Good breakfast, and good quality/value ratio. The discount provided by Bookings.com was really good.
Good location for business traveling Cockroach in the bathtub was a shock for a 4 star hotel!!!!! Horrible! Tv didnt work properly, ac turn itself off after 30 seconds, shower was broken!
The room was confortable and really quiet Breakfast was too poor for a 4 star hotel and the roomwas too cold (in winter)
location and comfort I think the price is too high compared to other hotels in the surrounding
The room interior looks good, and the room where i stayed was spacious enough. Hotel locaiton is not conveninent. there is only one restaurant close to the hotel in walking distance.
its convienent location!!!! (after you get there) the first time
spacious rooms. Hotel staff = very friendly and efficient. Good restaurant but a bit expensive (value-money) no free internet, it should be included in this kind of hotel - poor light in the room - no flat TV, but this is not a real problem
The hotel and room were very attractive and the breakfast choice was good. The staff could have been more receptive. We struggled to get the right adapter to work the kettle (yes we're English) and the bath whirlpool didn't work.
its is comfortableand the staff are nice you have to pay for the use of internet
Spacious and well decorated rooms. Good service at very late arrival Range of food at breakfast limited.
10 minutes walk from Prato trainstation and Prato city. One part of the hotel has appartements with kitchen facilities which makes a longer stay very attractive.
Big room beautifully decorated
Friendly staff, free parking, free Internet and excellent breakfast. Room in need of renovation. Shower not functioning well. International tv channels limited.
Internet free and working very well. Needing some maintenance and better cleaning in the common areas.
Room facilities, decoration. excellent breakfast.
Value for money is good not crazy about breakfast, internet/toilet did not function 100% in room
the staff and the size of the room
Large and functional suite room. One window can not be closed completely and causes a big noise of the wind. Uncomfortable sofa bed...
English non speaking receptionist at check out!
Parking not large enough
1) Hotel entrance do not have the hotel name,so you don't know it is the hotel you are looking for. 2) the staff do not know what is 4 star hotel services. 3) Equipments in room is out of order.
Capuccino for breakfast, the room and the bathroom were nice, the staff at the reception very friendly and the parking was for free. We had troubles to find the hotel without a GPS.
While it's not the most central of hotels, it's very well turned out, the rooms are very nice, and the staff were extremely helpful.
Staff very very friendly. Free internet. Congratulations! The Hotel is very easy to be found, if you consult the map before going. Otherwise, you can find yourself lost in a city where its impossible to find anything and where there isn't any person in the street to give you information after 8 pm.
there wasn't enough towels nor sheets; internet didn't work; parking is too expencive (10EUR per day/night); bathroom doors wouldn't shut because of the toilet seat; breakfast was poor (no orange juice, pineapple juice is basically a syrup; bread was hard as a rock and salami smelled bad).
Hotel staff attentive. The restuarant's seating strategy could easily be misunderstood. Seating single diners in the rear by design regularly is not a good policy.
Nice big room, nice breakfast and dinner. Wireless internet availiable.
Located not far from Florence. You can reach the city by bus (stops at the backyard of the hotel) or by train (station is few kilometers away). Nice hotel staff was friendly. Breakfast was excellent!
Very close to the A11 exit, spacious room and bathroom, internet and parking free, breakfast OK.
super, very well hotel, parking was free in front the hotel. Very good breakfast - and very nice personal. Good stay with dog - no problem. The hotel restaurant is not open in August.
The people were nice and friendly and spoke good english. The hotel was quite clean and the breakfast was also good and the people serving the breakfast were very friendly and helpful.
Very clean modern good sized room quite new. Great breakfast.
Nice rooms and Good variety in beakfast. Excellent internet conection. Easy parking
Friendly staff and reasonable breakfast
The structure is well kept, outside parking is very good, personnel very professional. Internet didn't work but could be my problem. Very nice and recommended hotel, better if you have a car.
very modern and comfortable hotel, good location if You wish to visit Florecne
Wired internet in the rooms. Very good air conditioning
perfect location for FLR airport
efficincy of staff
The cleanliness, the breakfast, the services. In fact everything was ok with the only exception that the power sockets are unfitted with my plug in cords, but on the reception you could find adaptors.
I liked the lovely wide balcony attached to my room. The staff were also very friendly and help out where they could. I did not like the health facilities. The sauna was below the ground floor in a dark and daunting place, when I went down there to use it there was no one there to monitor things and it was very dark, the lighting was very bad. as a woman, I felt unsafe down there. There was no guidance as to where the customers belongings could be kept whilst they were using the sauna either, this needs to be improved.
Bus station to Firenze close to hotel (30 min driving time, every half hour). Quiet hotel. Friendly staff. Clean room. Free, big parking place in front of hotel. Excellent "home base" for car trips in tuscany: Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Viareggio are all reachable within an hour by car. (For Firenze the bus is recommended.)
kindness of staff
room very clean, staff were pleasant and very helpful, I'd certainly go again if l'd had the chance. l have nothing to say concerning "anything l didn't like"
personal service and location
Centrally located just off P. Duomo. Conveniently near Porto al Serraglio railway station. 20 min train ride to Firenze. Good welcome from reception and friendly service at all times. Good size comfortable twin bedroom (for sole use). Quiet while I was there but overlooks narrow street on bus route so could potentially be noisy at times.
Friendly helpful staff. Hotel in the centre of old Prato and close to train. Attractive surroundings with cafes, shops and bars. 20 mins from Florence by train. Accommodation comfortable and value for price.
The hotel was very reasonable and located well for walking, my business and shopping They offered no protein at breakfast (boiled egg etc)
the hotel is situated on the main square, several steps away from the cathedral!
Hotel Giardino is in the town centre and very close to the Porta al Serraglio train station. There are many small grocery stores and restaurants around. The staff was helpful and nice. The breakfast was good but there were not many choices. The room was big and comfortable. Towels and bedclothes were nice clean. Floors are covered with carpet, which was clean to a certain extent but it smelled a bit dusty. My windows faced the main square, which was a bit noisy during Sunday evening. The bathroom was okay, but at some corners it was covered with mould.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant clean and spacious rooms.
We enjoyed our stay, and found everything was very clean and the staff so helpful. Will return, no complaints. .
Even if I didn´t use the kitchen, which was in my room, I enjoyed the idea of being able to cook for myself if I choose to! And I liked the fact, that my hotel room was warm! :-) And in general the location in the city centre. And the helpfulness of the staff. the only thing I would suggest, is a stronger hair dryer. It took me quite a while to dry my hair. The rest was very much to my liking!!!
Large, room with pleasant modern decor. Good size bathroom with good water pressure. The accommodation was very close to Monash Univ. and the Duomo. Good security and rooftop terrace. Modern elevator to 3 floors. Free wi fi.
Great overall, beautiful place and beautiful room, and very convenient location. Just very dirty floor when we arrived, but I think they cleaned it once we asked. Our room was very big, with a very high ceiling, and beautiful decorations. Also, there's a roof terrace w- laundry room, iron, etc. You can do your laundry and enjoy 360 degrees of the gorgeous view. Great staff. Dirty floor when we arrived, but I think they cleaned it once we asked.
Great hotel for a great price. Right in the heart of Prato. From the hotel you can reach the city center of Florence in approximately 20 minutes by train. Rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Better than many of the big 5-star hotel chains.
Location, size of rooms, friendliness and effectiveness of staff, roof terrace, able to wash clothes Noise from nightclub in street on some nights (you are in the centro of a walled city though so can't complain)
went to mugello race circuit and toured prato very close to a noisy bar and extremely difficult to locate
Very convienient for old town and railway station to Florence Noisy bar along the street, the only one in the whole town - noise went on until small hours.
Very attentive staff. Very good spot. Very noisy until 2am. Bed quite unconfortable. No internet for few days but was unpredictable (storm)
Huge room with balcony (Room 4, first (i.e. not ground) floor), access to roof terrace Contact with friendly proprietor was by e-mail and phone - no staff at weekends so we were sent instructions on where to find the key and when we wanted to check out at 8am on a Monday no one turned up so had to phone her. Was told to leave credit card details at reception desk, which worked fine.
We only saw one of the staff during check in. Friendly I must say. No breakfast possibility at all. Car can not be parked nearby which is not very helpful. Hotel provides you with free permit though. Prato is NOT very nice and full with emigrants (Chineze and Africans) whom more or less destroy the atmosphere.. No car park, no breakfast, high pricing for delivered service, very limited reception availability, Audible noise in rooms from the Street/bars, Prato in general seems like it has been taken over from the Italians by the Chineze and Africans without exaggerating!, Level of proper restaurants...
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, our room was quite large and very clean with a beautiful view overlooking the river. It is the perfect base for a young couple to explore Florence. As long as you are prepared to walk 20-25 minutes into the city centre, there is nothing negative I can say about our stay at Ville Sull'Arno
Beautiful property with great rooms and views directly on the Arno. Quiet & peaceful. Excellent food and service. Fantastic breakfast offering. Spa was amazing and so much enjoyed with a grotto hot pool, steam and sauna. Staff very friendly with great concierge services available. Shuttle bus and bicycles. Could not reccomend this hotel any higher - was best hotel of our entire trip stay and well worth the price. Wife was over the moon happy with this choice...
The location was perfect and the view of the river really added to the beauty of the room. We loved the balacony! The staff were all very helpful with advice, booking tickets for us, etc. The breakfast was excellent and we also enjoyed the pool. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were huge and very smart, the pool was gorgeous and refreshing. The restaurant was some of the best food we encountered in Italy!
Nice staff, good facility, moderate price. Long walk necessary from city centre.1
Very close to centre of Florence - short bus trip to centre. Nice pool and friendly staff. Good breakfast and restaurant was good. Good base for touring Florence and for touring towns in the region - easy access to Auto Strada etc. A little haven in the city. Air Conditioning was a bit noisy and some traffic noise from early morning.
Food at dinner good as was the choice of cold food at breakfast. Staff at reception and restaurant very helpful. Nice size bedroom with balcony. Hot food at breakfast not very good, they had scrambled eggs and bacon each morning but did not look very appetising. Room cleaning not vey good, crisps on floor on day we arrived were still there 3 days later when we left. Bathroom had a musty smell, could do with redecorating the bathroom. Swimming pool not open, would be helpful if they gave a date it closed.
Old style Italian building and the overgrown gardens. Room had balcony overlooking River Arno. Pleasant and helpful staff. Shower enclosure very small.
The staff were very courteous and helpful. Food was excellent and the hotel was very clean. A bit far from the centre of Florence with the result we spent a lot of money on taxis.
The rooms and the hotel staff are very friendly, and its close to the center of Florence.
Excellent room, reliable air conditioning, all facilities new and fresh. Checking in easy, lots of dining choices in neighborhood--and easy access to key Florence sites.
Very nice rooms, good breakfast, central location (by foot less than 15 minutes to the dome), private parking,... There is no guarantee for the parking, so it might be that it is full and the private garages are very expensive…
It's cenral location and upmarket clientele Rooms too small and the complementary coffee making facilities need to be asked for. Breakfast too basic.
hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. It states they serve American breakfast, unfortunately this is not what I would describe as American breakfast having travelled many times to the USA. I asked for fried eggs, sunny side up as served in USA to be told that would be an extra charge. No choice of eggs only scrambled supplied. No mushrooms or hash browns etc.Dissappointed as this was not what you would expect. The continental breakfast was good.
Not bad. While it is not a designer hotel, it is still good value for a hotel close to train station and major tourist site. We had a triple room which was spacious enough for three adults. Room clean, breakfast average. Shower is a bit small.
Good position, good rooms and a nice breakfast. I would expect to have the free wifi/cable internet access in the room package
I enjoyed the convinience of the hotels location and the easily accesible parking area. During our visit the air conditioning was not turned on and the rooms were very hot, and when we inquired about it, the staff told us to open the windows.
Easy to get to many things tourist of city, friendly staff that helped change rooms, breakfast was convenient. This isn't by any means a four star , but what you get for price is good. This is Italy so be prepared for a room to smell of smoke. The pillows were incredibly hard and compact.
excellent position to centrum and very good parking very complicated and expensivve internet service
All in all a good experience. Even our group ordered two bottles of Don Perignon during every dinner it was a surprise to be told in the third night that it is no more. Even the personnel had a bad feeling about the situation.
very friendly service
clean rooms and very nice staff I had a room that was joined to another one...the people beside me were very loud, got changed to another room and then someone was moving the furniture in the suite above me. since it's an old house I am not sure it's got the proper sound proofing.
space of the rooms sheet of the beds is not soft
All staff that we met were were extremely friendly and courteous. Our Room was fantastic-spacious, comfortable with a wonderful view over the convent towards the hills. The outdoor pool was a joy and situated in delightful surroundings that was perfect for chilling during the day before heading into town-only 15 mins walk to Ponte Vecchio. I would gladly recommend. Disappointed that for the price we paid that it didn't include breakfast!!prices were very expensive-eg 18 euros for a ham/cheese toastie/12 euros for a btl of beer/glass wine/7.5 euros for a coke/water etc and that was just the snack menu!!However, the food bought at the hotel was very nice we would have eaten more at the hotel if prices had been more reasonable.Although we did find a lovely pattiserie where we were able to get breakfast with great coffee and only 2mins walk from hotel. Also the 'fitness centre' was disappointing-the gym was tiny, a mirrored room with odds and ends-equipment that was present was very dated.
Liked nearly everything The service around the pool area was a bit slow some days
Hotel is conveniently located, stylish (Florentine style) and quiet. Room was spacious with lots of space for clothing, etc. Moldy fabric on walls; didn't know about comlimentary breakfast.
kind staff, cleanness, well internet service, nice hotel nothing
Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location. Service was exceptional. The pool was great after a long day walking around in Florence. Breakfast was very good. Upgraded room was a nice touch. Parking was a little expensive and not run by the hotel itself.
Staff very helpfull - Concierge booked all dinner reservations for us which made life easier
excellent concierge and service
I enjoyed the beautifully appointed room, the large bathroom and excellent shower. The staff was exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to recommend places to visit or for dinner reservations. Food at the hotel was also very good. I do not have one bad thing to say about this hotel. Would definitely go back and would recommend to a friend.
The staff at Helvetia Bristol could not have been warmer and more accommodating during my four night stay. Their warm welcomes and spot-on suggestions were greatly appreciated. I love this hotel and will definitely return. It is a historic boutique hotel (don't expect large rooms). The location cannot be beat in central Florence. The rooms are small and in need of a little love (new carpet).
Staff and location Breakfast buffet and some rooms noisy
Beautiful authentic Italian and very freindly helpful staff. Only downside was the room was boiling hot and there was no option to turn off the heating or turn it down, you could not have air conditioning in the winter even though the weather was really mild. When we opened the windows we got bitten by mosquitos.
Attractive and very central We thought the 50euros charge for parking was astronomical!!!!
Service impeccable; centrally located for everything including museums, shopping, restaurants, train station; cleanliness and decor wonderful; will stay there again
The location is perfect. 10-15 minute walk to everything, but quiet location. Service like one does not find anymore. Worth the money.
Center of the beautiful city, nice small hotel, not very cheap, but wort to stay in it. If you come by car, ask taxi driver to go there and follow him, Almost imposible to find tha way on your own. Valet parking closed until 7 am. I had my flight earlier. Hotel helped me to deliver car to Avis and sent my belongings from car to me, but generally it is not acceptable.
Friendly staff, great room
Nice hotel, great staff AC not working - resulted in open window - resulted in about 15 mosquito bites!!!
Cappuccino. Staff was understanding. The rooms next to the street are noisy because of the late night bars and at this time of year you can't have AC in the rooms because one system works the entire building. If you are hot or uncomfortable you have to open a window which just lets the noise in. Street cleaners, and trash service comes by at 5am which is nuts! Breakfast was blah...Single room was a closet and horrible shower. Im in shape and didn't fit in the shower.
The fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast. The staff really helped when they changed our room. The first junior suite was a loft bedroom, hot and viewless. The second one was lovely It was a little too far from the center. You have to like to walk a lot. It was the most expensive one on our trip and we thought it was overpriced.
comfort I would like the restaurant to have more choices on the menu Food could be a little better
Outside looking of the building was nice, the fee was cheap as a 5 star.
We arrived to a rude and dismissive front desk. They proceeded to tell us we couldn't stay in our room unless we paid 50 dollars more than what we paid with kayak. I said absolutely not. they said then we couldn't stay and they would still be charging us the full amount of the room. We left and did not stay there and now have to dispute these fraudulent charges with my credit card. Never stay here!!! Worst service ever!!!!
Beautiful room, luxurious bathroom, very comfortable bed, very nice and helpful staff. Very quiet environment and therefore relaxing. The best hotel I have ever stayed at in 30 years of travel. There was nothing I did not like.
I felt at home. Your system with the lights.I guess if I had more time I could had trained myself to work them better.I think now that I am back home ,I have it figured out but too late.
Quiet location, Senior bar, restaurant and porterage staff were excellent Management were not on the ball. Twice we complained about the smell coming from the waste pipe of the bath and nothing was done. Twice we returned to our room in the late afternoon and it had not been serviced. On the one evening we had dinner in the hotel there was a staffing problem and we (along with other guests) had to wait for ever for our food.
The room and the hotel interieur it was a little bit too outside
The hotel was clean and elegant. Rooms and facilities were spacious and the service was excellent. The breakfast and gym were top-notch. The dinner, although good, was not as good value for money as I would have liked. Additional recreational facilities (spa, pool, biliard table, other) would have been a bonus.
Hotel was clean, staff were helpful & friendly. 30 min free wireless a day was useful. Close to train station and I liked the walk to the city centre (either along the river or the back streets which had quirky shops). Hmm the aircon was quite noisy (sounded like it was continuously raining) but it didn't worry me too much.
The hotel is very well located within few blocks to major attractions and "centro storico". Be careful with the shower in the restroom because it is a step down from the floor and you can easily fell down.
the welcome and efficiency of the staff and also the quality of the breakfast. a special mention for the sophisticated spa and treatments. The room was very comfortable and wel equipted. the lounge is welcoming. the lighting in the beautiful bathroom was deficient but I understand this will change soon.
Excellent location. Walking distance to all the main attractions of Florence. Quiet neighborhood inside the busy town center. Room service expensive for what it was.
It was a very beautiful hotel with an excellent staff and it was in an excellent location. We liked everything about the hotel.
wonderful breakfast with fresh juice, home-made bread and delicious fruit very central to the city nice staff nice room no
Nice location, nice property Be sure not to stay in a standard room, when you pay for a deluxe room. Booking.com classifies the rooms by size, but the hotel receptionist said, size does not matter, it is the services included (spa, mini bar). The receptionist also refused to change the reservation to standard room, as it was made trough booking.com. I took us 15 minutes and some nerves to get the room we paid for as advertised on booking.com.
this one is a brand new one only opened in May 2009. The room is spacious and is very clean, with a spacious marble bathroom. It is small and cozy. I will go back if I visit Florence again.
SPA (small but nice) and massages. I am Italian and found breakfast delicious (cappuccino) Room's temperature was too low when we first entered (18°)
the hotel is absolutly great specially its near by the river & the shopping area..the staff were amazingly adorable and helpful ...i remeber "marco" he was great and all the other but i cant recall there names now..last day i needed a late check out ..they provide it free freee freee with a wide smile...u must see this amazing beutiful castle i wished i could stayed more
Very elegant, located in a perfect spot in Florence's luxury shopping area and also very close to city's center and monuments, clean rooms and good service by staff.
It was no rain, thanks.
This is a beautiful hotel. What we liked most was it's location - very central - walk out the door and you are right where you want to be!! I can not think of anything that we didn't like about the hotel.
The bubble bath was a welcome delight. The room decor was awesome! The basket of fruit was delicious. We just loved every mininute! The stay helped make our 25th wedding anniversary wonderful. Had difficulty illiminating the light fixtures in the sitting room. The light switch did not function properly. Had to ask the front desk for assistance.
location bathroom of the room was old and cold, not at the level of a 4 star
The location is ideal The beds were very uncomfortable.
Hotel's position in the historical centre of Florence
Great Location near the Duamo accompanied by good rooms and helpful staff
Location was excellent. walked everywhere & many great restaurants & wine bars nearby. Staff was very accomodating & friendly Price was high but quality matched the price
Staff were accommodating. They initially offered us a room with a view of the inside of the building (I would not call it a courtyard) and down many halls away from everything. When we requested another they gave us one on the 5th floor, street side with a bath tub. I did request these amenities beforehand, however, they tried to give us a substandard room. Is this because we booked through Booking.com?Need to be persistent. Location can't be beat. Hotel is beautiful.
They offer the best breakfast buffet in the morning, excellent selection of eggs, rolls, pastries, fruits, cheeses, cereal etc and hot american coffee. The breakfast room is nicely decorated and service prompt and friendly. A great way to start your day. The rooms are very clean, bar/lounge area looks newly decorated and a nice place to enjoy an evening cocktail. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
