The staff and service at this hotel were above and beyond expectations. The location is perfect being that it is steps away from everything that Viejo Vallarta offers and even closer to the malecon and the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Like one of the reviewers noted, I too was placed in a room that faced the air conditioning units in the courtyard. The best outcome for this situation is that I know I would have been moved to a better room if I had asked. But I was only there one night so didn't bother.
Sightseeing & relaxed & ate ALOT of authentic Mexican Foods Loved EVERYTHING I definitely will be back VERY soon
Very very clean and comfy. Great breakfasts. Close to beach & restaurants Can't think of nothing
Booked at a great price of $50. Not sure I would stay at their published price of 1200 peosos. A bit expensive. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet, very friendly staff, great location, but no character. No character. Could have been in any city on n the US
Excellent staff, excellent location, clean and comfortable room, quiet. Would recommend to anyone that wants a great place at a great price. WiFi in the room would cut out a lot.
The rooms were clean and has your basic needs. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We needed to use the phone to confirm a tour and the guy at the front desk called for me. They also stored our bags for us while we went out since check out was at noon and we didn't have to leave until later. The beach was not even a minute walk away. The market was across the street and there were placed to eat all around us. The location was great. I wish the wi-fi worked throughout the hotel and not just in our room.
The price is obviously a plus. The staff were really nice and the concierge spoke really good English. The air conditioning worked really well. The pool is beautiful however right in the middle of everything so everyone is watching you from the restaurant and the hotel rooms. I also liked the location, it felt right inside of the culture of Puerto Vallarta, it didn't give off that resort vibe at all, if that's what you're looking for. The shower we had would always flood the entire bathroom, with only a thin curtain and no ledge to catch the excess water. Also, everything just felt dirty. We found a weird yellowish stain on our sheets and they always felt a little sticky. Oh and by far the worst part was all of the fleas. There were hundreds of fleas in the bed, on the floor. Everywhere. And even though the air conditioning worked, it was so loud it's hard to hear your spouse talk.
Friendly and caring staff, great location, great breakfast Management could keep on eye on how well rooms are getting cleaned. Cleaning people put the coffee mugs back on the tray more than once without washing them.
We enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Alemana. Mike, Irma and Tatiana made us feel at home. They are very helpful, recommended us restaurants and places to visit. Waking distance to the beach, restaurants, Rio Cuale, tours. We had dinner at the Hacienda Alemana Restaurant and it was great German food. Clean, warm pool, very relaxing.
This hotel is a gem. Beautiful, clean, well-maintained, and close to the beach, shopping, and entertainment. Mike and Irma were gracious hosts and made me feel very welcome. The hotel's restaurant is also fantastic and beautifully reflects the owners heritage and high-standards. A+
The WiFi did not work in my room and the rooms could have been a bit cleaner.
We just came back from a week in Puerto Vallarta at the Posada de Roger. It's located exactly where we wanted, near the Playa de los Muertos in the zona romantica. The hotel is lovely in the traditional Mexican style, will lots of plants and flowers. A gorgeous setting. The rooms are charming, clean and have everything we need. Good bed. Lovely art on the walls. A clean, simple bathroom in which everything works. There's small, but charming swimming pool, surrounded by potted flowers, which was almost always empty, and always clean. We swam in it every day, sometimes twice. The resttaurant next door, Freddy's Toucan, is open for breakfast and lunch, and it's truly exceptional. Delicious food, great service, and another charming atmosphere. Hotel and restaurant staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time here.
Location was fabulous, restaurant was very good.Staff was very helpful.Room was small, but clean and all we needed for our stay.Pool area very clean.
must evrything evrything was closed at 9:00 PM
Posada de Roger was everything we wanted. You walk out the door and life happens, right in the middle of everything. Breakfast downstairs, bakery across the street, Paco's Tacos down the street...and Los Muertos beach just down the street.
2 very short blocks from the beach. Taxi's cruise right outside the front gate. Excellent restaurant, Cafe de Olla on same street. Clean rooms, quiet at night, bottled water dispensers on each level, charming gardens from bottom to top. Such small things to complain about: needing conditioner not just shampoo, better cleaning of sink & toilet pedestals because of our dirty sandy feet. I hate to even complain about anything, our stay was so nice.
Great area and hotel employee at the front desk really helped us out. Very nice hotel layout with the rooftop pool and open area.
Great staff and close to everything in the Romantic Zone. Love the maid service. Right in heart of the action and can be get noisy.

I read the previous reviews and thought it would be a great place to stay for the night. I enjoyed the overall location and charm of the hotel. I had an room on the ground floor in the courtyard. I was fine that the room was small, but the pillows were flat and very bumpy. The lock on the door kind of locked ... not really. And, having a room in the courtyard meant a lot of noise all night long. There was a group of 25 young adults who stayed that same weekend and let's say they thought the courtyard was their personal living room from 8:00pm to 4:00am. I know I didn't get any sleep. I was wondering the whole night where was the night time manager was!?! Other guests asked them to be quiet, but they got ignored. Overall, if you book this hotel ask for a room not in the courtyard if you like not to be disturbed in the night. It is a good value for what you get.
location room to small bed not comfortable
Location and overall decorations. Very pretty. We were on the fourth floor so was a bit of a climb. Next time will request s room on a lower floor.
The hotel was within walking distance of a shopping center with a grocery store and several restaurants, and across the street from a bus stop and taxi stand. NO.
Everything is new and clean. Well maintained Could have been closer to the beach area
I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. The location can not be faulted and the room was clean and well maintained. The pool is great and sitting there in the evening listening to the waves was very peaceful. Air conditioning was good as was the shower. The room we got did not have an ocean view and unfortunately we were not able to upgrade due to the Mexican holiday. Room a little on the small size but mind you we did not spend a lot of time in it. Lots of noise from the street as well as the clubs that played until almost dawn. The weekends were the worst. Food at the hotel was on the mediocre side and pricey compared to other outlet in Vallarta. Fundamentally a basic hotel but well run and well located. Would not stay again but only because I would play more to get more amenities ----but for the price the Rosita is good value.
This hotel was excellent for the money and we got an amazing deal. It was a excellent budget hotel and the location was fantastic as it sits just at the top of the strip. The breakfast buffet was good but a little hard to negotiate the first time. I did not speak Spanish and the staff spoke enough English to cover the basics and were very nice. The pool was good and it was great fun to sit by during happy hour. The ocean view rooms are great, but I had a street view which was awesome for the people watching. The beds were a little hard but after a few margaritas I managed to sleep through the night.
I loved how close the hotel was to the downtown area. I also liked the breakfast offered every morning (we stayed 5 nights). The staff at the front was very helpful when I asked how to rent jetskis. I did not like how the cleaning service came so late in the day, around 4-5 pm, would of preferred if they came to clean the room earlier.
The hotel is right on the Malecon with the BEST view for gorgeous sunsets over the water! Even though our room was street side, we could still see the water and hear the waves crashing to shore as we slept! The staff was helpful and prompt. We were only 1-2 blocks from bus stops (depending on the direction of travel). It was a very inexpensive and a great value for the money! The "free continental breakfast" was rather minimal, but we supplemented with heartier items and paid the difference, which was VERY reasonable. Service in the restaurant was a bit slow.
The coffee The room appeared to need some work. It did not give a good impression.
Front desk staff was friendly and hotel is easy access to boardwalk. Room was in poor condition. Stains on bedding, mattress hard and uncomfortable, and had to stand on a chair to reach the A/C unit. Booked another hotel and checked out within an hour. Encino refused to give a refund.
Price bathrrom smelled like sewer bed was VERY hard pillows were hard
Roof top pool often empty ( while I was there ) Roof top restaurant awesome food and cheap Maid were friendly Gilberto - one of the front desk employee Who is very friendly and alway smiling and goes beyond to help you if you need anything. Roof top restaurant only open at 4pm and closed Mondays. It was cheap and good food. Wish they were open earlier Did not sell or provide ice Bedsheets and towels often stained-
Hotel Encino is a charming old world beauty at a great price! Great location near markets, shops, restaurants and beach/boardwalk.
I liked the location to the beach and popular shopping areas in the old part of Puerto Vallarta. Additionally, the rooftop swimming pool/patio was a great place to enjoy the outdoors without the crowds at the beach. The only problem I had with this hotel was the bed. It was a little too hard for my taste. Luckily, I can sleep just about anywhere.
It was a quick overnight stop before catching the water taxi to Yelapa see above
Location was wonderful. Mandatory morning wake-up. Loud Zumba class every weekday at 8:00 am in the park directly across the street. Did i say Loud? I think 10:00 would be better as "morning people" who like to dance should maybe go out at night once in a while and sleep in. We had an inside room and learned every song. Ugh.
I like the fact that it's very close to the beach and clubs. It was a nice experience overall. The running of children up and down stairs and hallways. The screaming of children and parents at children before 9am. Having to request room clean up after 8pm.
the hotel lobby was modern but the rooms were basic...the location was awesome...block to beach...park across the street with farmers market 2 days and one day was a wine tasting and live band and dancing....wonderful...i was very happy with the price we paid and what we got...i excepted an almost nightmare but was very happy with the room and hotel...the ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful...rooftop patio with pool and wonderful views of puerto vallarta...also, on the rooftop was were the "free" breakfast was served...the ladies working the breakfast were very pleasant and started your morning off great...... there was only one elevator and it was slow...also in the room, the bathroom drains on the floor had an unpleasant oder coming out of them ...we had to buy a bottle of bleach and pour down the drains....during the day when the maid cleaned the room it smelled great...but as evening wore on it would smell again...
