Pros: The view, the staff
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable, no elevators and some rooms with best views And privacy on third floor.
Pros: The room was clean and the view was amazing
Pros: Beds were comfortable - beautiful view from our balcony - the furnishings were a little dated - everything was very clean -they welcomed our dog and she had a good time with us.
Pros: What a wonderful place - the travel to get there is worth the drive! The view was amazing and the visit to the beach and lighthouse made it special.
Pros: Nice views from balcony, great location, friendly stuff - all I met for ideal rest after business trip. Only one thing is a weather. You should be prepare both wind and chill and hot.
Pros: The view is FANTASTIC !!!
Cons: Nada !!
Pros: Hands down the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen in my 48 years.
Cons: When we first called the lady seemed mean. When we checked out a different lady never said anything except “all set”. Nothing at all else. There is no restaurant anywhere!!!

Pros: Great refuge at the end of a busy vacation
Cons: Housekeeping was lax. Lots of dust on baseboards, window sills. Dead flies on the windowsills in the dining room. Our balcony was full of dead leafs and trash.
Pros: The patio was amazing. Do not stay in the nearby town of Garber-something.
Cons: The rooms were dusty. They need to be updated, but it was very comfortable and well appointed. Do not get a half bottle of wine. I made that mistake.
Pros: The kitchen was good. All meals were good. On the high side for price but the value was there.
Cons: Wi fi a bit weak, not terrible but not good.
Pros: Right on the Eel river , shaded lawn with steps leading down to the river. Exquisite gardens with English garden beds thick with flowers.
Cons: Right next to the freeway. The noise was deafening outside.
Pros: Loved the tea and scones in the afternoon. Stayed in historic room, loved it. Beautiful grounds.
Pros: The accommodations were great, like staying in a fancy museum, and the restaurant was fantastic. There is a beautiful outdoor deck for drinks or dinner with entertainment.
Cons: We liked everything about the property, the historic feel, the service, and the location.
Pros: Beautiful place
Cons: More light in the shower. Very dark.
Pros: Beautiful Historic Hotel ---Had Breakfast the last day and Breakfast was very good-excellent waitress
Cons: Stayed at Benbow 30 yrs ago when it was rundown, then 20 yrs ago and 12 years ago when it was restored. This last stay was unfortunately disappointing. Absolutely NO hospitality, woefully understaffed and inefficient--no one seemed to know what they were doing or for that matter could care less. Hotel still beautiful but now added elevator that was in weird location. Also no more canoeing..that was an added disappointment. Could go on--but staff needs to be trained.
Pros: Atmosphere, historical charm
Pros: Wonderful historic hotel. Loved they whole experience.
Pros: Great coffee in the morning. River running low but imagine when it is full, it’s very beautiful. Some nice places to sit outside to enjoy views.
Cons: The historic rooms have no TV which I had not expected. The bath and shower in my room was poorly lit. The shower had almost no light once the curtain was pulled. The pool and spa are not visible and far away from hotel, so was hard to find.
Pros: After driving all Day and looking for a place stay with very little options we came upon the inn and it was romantic and the food was amazing!
Cons: A little dated. Needed a bit of updating
When you stay at Oceanfront Inn at Shelter Cove in Shelter Cove, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Mal Coombs Park and Shelter Cove Marina. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Amazing views from our balcony and a cozy and luxurious room. Very friendly staff, as well. We look forward to staying here again.
Cons: Not many places open nearby during the off season/Christmas holiday so had to settle for a cold cut sandwich from the local mart for dinner.
Pros: We love Shelter Cove and wanted a nice place to relax while we drank our way around town...lol..it's a simple, stripped down room that is lovely and extremely comfortable with a stellar view. The balconies are great, and private - a plus! The new owners are very excited about their business, very friendly and kind. Can't wait to come back and try out the new restaurant when it opens!
Pros: The view was amazing and the room was very comfortable. Everyone was friendly. I even got to see whales!
Pros: I loved that they put me on the 3rd floor had a nice balcony to hear and see the ocean. It was lovely.
Cons: No breakfast and I couldn’t get a hot breakfast in town.
Pros: The view was amazing and the staff made you feel at home. We can't wait to get back.
Cons: Will be great when the restaurant opens!
Pros: Location was perfect, room was amazing...and just what the husband and I needed. The perfect quiet getaway to recharge and have some couple time.
Cons: The drive in is a little rough...but ended up being totally worth it.
Cons: We couldn’t work the Keurig coffee making to work. I think it was broken.
Pros: Perfect location, great ocean view from the balcony, spacious and clean room. Friendly and helpful owners. Fast and perfect WiFi connection. Beautiful place.
Pros: Perfect location for a pilot to fly their plane into Shelter Cove for a coastal getaway. The Oceanfront Inn is a three minute walk from the south end airstrip parking area, and perched on the bluff overlooking Northern California's rugged coastline, with seal lions sunning themselves on the rocks below and shorebirds gliding overhead. Also next to the historic lighthouse. Staff of the Inn were wonderful and gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our anniversary weekend visit. A great place to stay!
Cons: Weather planning is always a bit unsure -- the fog comes and goes on its own schedule regardless of whether a sunny day is forecast. We totally lucked out with great weather for arrival and departure, but pilots need to have an alternate in case the fog happens to be in when they arrive.
Pros: View, apartment with private patio and small yard, staff were very nice and accommodating, very clean. Loved Shelter Cove! Go to the Fish Tank coffee shop also.
Pros: This was my first trip to Shelter Cove but will certainly not be my last! Beautiful oceanfront view from my hotel room, clean, airy and comfortable room with very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the huge in-room jacuzzi!
Cons: Restaurant was under construction and nowhere else in town served food after 9pm. Plan ahead for this, though, and you’ll be fine.

Cons: Nothing was very pleased with the extra amenities
Pros: The proximity to the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwood State Park is the reason we chose this Best Western. It’s a short drive to the south end of the Avenue of the Giants. The hotel is adequate, a typical hotel off the highway, nothing fancy. Happy Hour consists of red or white wine served in plastic cups by hotel staff. Soda for kids. Cheese, olives, salami and a few other items were available. Breakfast was available in the same small space and was very limited.
Pros: Wonderful staff, very good amenities, excellent location to Avenue of the Giants, and very quiet in a quaint town.
Pros: Breakfast was awesome, the rooms really nice and cosy
Cons: Noise of the pool pump until very late (1am).
Pros: Breakfast was good, hot and varied.
Cons: Offer another variety of white wine.
Pros: Good service and friendly staff
Cons: Elevator almost never worked for me
Pros: Pretty sure the room we stayed in was hunted. Other than that everything else was great!
Cons: The ghost in our room.

Pros: It was very quiet. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: No complaints!
Cons: Needed redecorating.
Pros: Location, close to hwy 101. Large room
Cons: The AC/heater did not work. Long black hairs stuck all over the bathroom. No access to the pool or jacuzzi after dark, this was not mentioned anywhere other that on site.
With a stay at Dean Creek Resort in Redway, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Humboldt Redwoods State Park and Briceland Vineyards Winery. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: the area. the old fashioness of the place. Miniature golf and horse shoes, pool
Cons: We arrived late due to traffic pool closed at 7 and our grandaughter had to run to enjoy and then told the next day did not open till 12 and check out was 11 so we got 1 hour in pool. Several times we went to office which is store and noone there, sign on door. No freezer in mini frig.
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: Hot tub jets did not work Hours to open was 10-1030 Too late
Pros: location, comfortable bed
Cons: towels were poor quality, people camping on the lawn outside our patio
Pros: Cozy cabin. So much to do at this place: swim, hike, mini golf, arcade, sauna, horse shoes, playground for kids, and there are rooms, cabins, RV sites, and camping. We had a great time and the staff was really friendly. The place is under new management and they are doing a great job.
Pros: I loved the weather it was quite nobody bothers you wish I had more time to stay but maybe next time
Cons: The bathroom could have been bigger but it was cozy & comfort
Pros: We loved the little pool area and the feeling of a campground with playgrounds and miniature golf etc. Very good for families!
Cons: Tap water is so dirty. The room smells stinking.
Pros: Just off 101 in the trees (which means on hot days it's cooler) next to the river. An older motel but everything worked and it was a place to rest my head. I only stayed in the motel itself but there was also a campground.
Pros: Lovely hut to stay with my son
Pros: Convenient location near US Highway 101 exit. Exceptionally clean for what appeared to be a 1940's era facility. Although we did not use the outdoor swimming pool other guests seemed to really enjoy this amenity. Microwave & refrigerator made room preparation of breakfast practical. Good advice on a local small town restaurant for supper that would have been missed without the recommendation.
Cons: The tub & shower faucet was old and was too difficult for my wife or me to pull out to make the water flow so we skipped a shower for our one night stay. I recommended lubrication with WD-40 to make the water handle easier to use. The sink water faucet worked fine.

Pros: Theroom was fairly clean.
Cons: The wifi is almost useless. The bathroom cheaply done.
Pros: It was located where we needed it to be located. The proprietor was nice, especially his recommendation for dinner (Cecil's Cajun). That place was one of the best Cajun restaurants I've ever been to! In Garberville of all places!
Cons: Ants in the bathroom, loud air conditioner, everything was old, the place was in major need of upgrading.
