The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Nothing was any trouble. Ideally located for old town (charming) and new town (not so charming but with plenty of good restaurants and shops.
location, pool, spa It's very expensive for what it is, but it's partly because of weak dollar
Location was good, front office dpt as well. Hotel standards used to be better in the past. Cleaning of the rooms is not enough. A hotel that says to be a 5 star should keep the same standards all over the year even if located in a summer resort. Also the size of the standard room bathrooms is extremely small. As they can not make bigger the bathrooms (because the room space is already limited) they should relace bathtubes with modern shower cabins. For sure this hotel has 5 star touches but its not overall.
The location was perfect to visit the old city of Rhodes.
The location was perfect. The areas were very modern and comfortable.
Fantastic location between old town and new town.Friendly helpful staff.Great outdoor pool. Poor inconsistent food quality. We only ate at breakfast but need more choice.Poor value.
The location close to the centre of Rhodes town was excellent. The facilities at the hotel were good with a pool set in nice landscaping and pool side bar and bistro. We were alocated room 319 and noticed that we had an internal connecting door to the adjoining room. While we would normally avoid such a siuation we felt that given the hotels luxury rating that the sound reduction between the two rooms would be OK. Unfortunately over the course of the week we found this not to be the case with simple conversations next door being clearly audible from the adjoining room.
Next to the ancient castle and behind there was a ancient ruins which was so impressive.. Interior design of Hotel was so cozy and stunning..
Very clean, smart modern hotel with helpful staff. Our (standard) room was pleasant and well appointed with a kettle & tea & coffee (although we had to request refills each time). The breakfasts were excellent with an extensive buffet & other items on request. The location was excellent, just outside the walls of the old town & convenient for lots of restaurants. We were sorry that the swimming pool was really too cold for comfort (in the 2nd week of October). It was a beautiful pool and it would have been worth heating it for the shoulder months. We didn't try eating at the hotel & indeed didn't see any other guests trying it either. Judging from the room service menu, it appeared very expensive. It would have been worth the management offering some incentive to make use of the large dining room.
The staff couldn't be more helpful or pleasant. The pool area was lovely. Our evening meal at the restaurant was disappointing - my salmon was very over cooked and therefore tough, my husband received the wrong meal entirely - surprising as we were two of only six in the restaurant. The TV and radio channels on offer were very poor for English speakers.
The friendly and helpful staff who provided very good customer service. Hotel rated as 5 star, but really is not. An appropriate description would be serviced apartments. Also bed was not a double but twin beds.
The downstairs public space is modern and bright, the pool is large, the staff are helpful. Suites useful if you have small children or a group of students as they consist of a double bedroom, kitchen area (no kettle), and a sitting roon with 2 sofas that convert into beds (a bit like caravan beds). We were expecting a 5* hotel, this is not. I would say it was a 3* in the public spaces and a 2* in the rooms. We thought we were getting a Deluxe 2 bed apartment, it was not Deluxe. The beds are hard, the cheap metal furniture is uncomfortable and the repainted baths look grubby. They had turned off the aircon so we found it hot at night and were unable to sleep with the windows open as the traffic noise from the street was really loud. Had we not been expecting 5* we would not have been so disappointed with the hotel. The paper notices and menus stuck on the walls of the lift should have given us a clue as we went up to our room and the grubby hall carpet should have been another give away that we were not ascending into the lap of luxury
Great location, very luxurious room (especially the jacuzzi bath!), delicious breakfast served on your own terrace or room each morning. Very attentive staff The only really bad points were - breakfast breads were stale and given it was our honeymoon we weren't given any special/extra treatment
Excellent location, beautiful suite, very luxurious. Suites desribed as having private patios but ours (Mythos) shared with Eros. On this occasion not a problem as we didn't see the other guests but we were expecting private outdoor space.
Just fantastic hotel. Staffs are very kind and friendly, room is clean and exotic and nice location. The most recommendable hotel I have ever met.
It is very close to the sights of Rhodes town and the staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed ourselves. In the Anatoli Suite some of the fittings were in need of attention. Also, would have liked to be able to control the air conditioning better from the room. The staff were always happy to change the room temperature through the main computer system though.
Wonderful family and staff --could not have asked for more. I felt like a guest in their home. Bath tub had leak the entire time I was there!
castle atmosphere, decor, relaxing garden , upgraded our room , wonderful staff, great breakfasts
The Avalon is the perfect location for visiting Rhodes old town, with shops, restaurants and museums just a few minutes away. The courtyard is a haven for escaping the heat and crowds in the middle of the day. a bonus is the free internet access which was invaluable for checking our onward flights and ferry times. The air conditioning is centrally controlled. It is not clear from the website that the Eros and Mythos suites share a patio. If you need complete darkness in order to sleep don't book the Mythos suite, as the beautiful stained glass effect windows have no blinds or curtains and allow the night safety lights to shine through, making you think it's daylight when it is still the middle of the night.
The tranquility, the simplicity, everything was perfect
Facilities were very modern and clean. Excellent service and friendly place to stay. Well priced and value for money. eally close to the beach, shopiing, eating and bar/clubs
The studio was ideally situated in a quiet but very convenient part of the Old Town. At the time, only 2 of the studios were occupied so interior noise was minimal. For 2 people, the layout was very suitable and cupboard space adequate. We didnt have any problems with the raised bed downstairs however less mobile occupants may find it a challenge
The room was modern and had all the facilities that you would expect. The owner was very nice and helpful. The upstairs room in the studio was very hot and there was no air conditioning up there, however the bedroom downstairs was OK. Access to the hotel through the old town was a bit difficult with suitcases, but the owner offered to help. We recommend that you contact the hotel before arrival to arrange transportation for heavy suitcases.
It is stuated in a relatively quiet but central location - a good base from which to explore Rhodes Old Town
the manager was very kind and freindly with us, the room was clean and nice, maybe just a bit too small, rhodes old town is fantastic!! roms a bit claustrofobic
New small hotel with fatastic quiet location in the center of the tourist area of old Rhodes. Compact room with full comforts including kitchenett. No hotel facilities - no need! - everything is around the corner.
A very nice place, quiet but not far from animated streets, renovated with taste - just what I was expecting! A very good alternative to explore both Rhodes Old Town and New Town! A place to go back, for sure... ;-) Stergos welcomed us warmly and gave loads of tips and info - he is a friendly and smiling host! The space between wall and bed is a bit too small in studio nr 3!
Fantastic location. Nice style, very nice and helpfull owner! Comfort. Why there is no kettle to boil water for tea in the kitchenett?..
Nice style, nice owner, location is in the old town. Near the clock tower, so the bell sounded every hour, which we found very exiting.
The combination of the Old (building in the Medieval Old town) and the New (minimal furniture) was in perfect balance.
The hotel is a friendly charming haven after busy travelling. It has superb access to explore the old city its museums and streets and just to wander and return at leisure. The staff are efficient, personable. and very helpful. We loved the personally prepared individual breakfasts on the little terrace and thought the cook and house keeper were treasures. Wonderful to have so much fresh air or air conditioning as required. The experience was flawless.
The staff was very helpful and nice. The decorating was wonderful. The breakfast was great. The pillows.
The staff are absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and customer orientated, they really care about making ones stay memorable and they deserve all the credit in the world! I will definitely stay there again next time i am in Rhodes.
Absolutely beautiful little hotel. Our suite was spacious and comfortable with lavish decor - Turkish in style. The location is perfect for touring the old town of Rhodes. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.
Great Location. Unique style. Excellent and friendly service. Old Plumbing. Above average pricing. However similar conditions exist in all nearby hotels.
Ideal area for the party we went to only minuets walk away Furniture a little dated, but clean & confortable. Lovely bathroom
The two bedroomed apartment was roomy and clean although a good 20 minute walk to the walls of the old city. With a 7 yr old child we would walk to the old city and get a taxi back. The hotel was very good but a little out of town for a beach holiday.
Very helpful, accommodation staff and management. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent new bathroom. Free Wifi, free air con. Quiet. Parking available outside on road. 5 min car journey into Rhodes Old Town.
it has a very nice and new bathroom.also the people there are very kind and helpfull the swimming poll...because nobody use it...The beds(especially the stroms) and the pillows.
The location in very good, only 10 min. from the Old City. And very close to the buss station taking you to Lindons and the east cost. The staff is nice and the 2 rooms app. is convenient for a family. The kichen is old and cramped. Less furniture and a better fridge would do it wonders.
It was a small flat with two bedrooms, free wi-fi internet, swimming pool, and the bathroom was very nice (recently renovated). For the price it was not so bad but I wouldn´t stay there more than 1 o 2 nights... The appartment has very old furnitures (except the bathroom that has been renovated), it is not very close to the old town (20 minutes walking) and it is not very easy to find. The first day when we arrived there was nobody in the reception, we had to wait 15 minutes before someone showed up... And it is not possible to pay with debit or credit card.
Rooms: ample, light and quiet (no traffic noise). Bathroom: new with a wonderful and large shower. Swimming pool: nice and cleaned every morning. Cleaning: good and bedding and towels change as well. Position: only 1 km from the wonderful old city of Rhodes.Services: air conditioned, satellite and hairdryer in the room. Quiet rooms: no traffic noise. Staff: available for informations and advices, specially the girl who cleans the room. Furniture: very, very old, above all in the kitchen and the beds. Kitchen: barely usable: only tre cookers! Position: quite near the centre of Rhodes but the area is a little bit comfortless: few shops, few pubs and houses and sidewalks quite ugly. The nearest beach (Zefiros) is nothing exceptional and quite dirty.
Staff were very kind. Although a lock in a window had been broken first, they fixed it soon corresponding to my request. So, I could stay there securely. I appreciate their quick response.
Good price, quite near to the old town (you'll need a car or scooter anyway, since it's like 1,5 km far away), big room, nice bathroom (no bidet), quite clean, air conditioned. Good deal in the end. The best part is... that Faliraki was soooooo far from us (Faliraki is like hell on earth...) The worst part is the noise comin' from the street all the day and all the night 'cause of the cars and scooter passin' by. The kitchen is really small and old, quite useless.
