Very inexpensive. This is a college dorm. It met our needs of a place to sleep. Good value for basic accommodations The location of the desk in the room was in a spot where the computer couldn't pick up the wifi signal, so we had to bring the computer to the other end of the room and sit on the bed to use it.
Price. Lacked air condiciontinG or fan. Room very warm.
The location was fantastic. The pool area and terrace. The architecture and history of the building. Staff was wonderful. Crowded, expensive, no wifi, average room.
Staying in a historic building in a great city. Didn't touch the car for 4 days. Great dining both in and around the hotel at a number of spots. Unbelievable views. Only that I didn't plan on a longer stay.
The hotel is in the best location for someone wanting to see different parts of Quebec City. The staff is very well trained and seems to try to exceed expectations. This is a gorgeous historic hotel that has been extensively renovated. The pool and spa, all the restaurants, etc. are at or above the standards of what you will find in more modern luxury hotels. Based on my experience, I would recommend staying in one of the traditional decor rooms (preferably beginning 62##). Initially, we were offered an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms, but we thought the window was very small and the room felt rather claustrophobic. So, we asked to be put back in the traditional decor, unrenovated rooms and found it to be much larger and comfortable with a double window and a great view. Of course, these two rooms (out of the 600 in the hotel) likely were not representative of all the remodeled/traditional room layouts. Just my experience.
Wonderful location, elegant hotel with great view and nice bar. No concierge available much of the time. Elevator not always operating.
The renovated room and view We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.
Beautiful interior and exterior, pool and related facilities were generously appointed. Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.
The hotel staff is very professional and helpful, and location is close to most travel attractions. It's a landmark hotel with signifiant history. None
Location, architecture, overall experience, elegance, staff readiness to please, convenience Phones in the room didn't work, dental kit took too long to get delivered,
Well kept facility and competent staff. Great location. Would come again. But . . . you run a luxury hotel. And then you do a Motel 6 maneuver and charge people for WiFi in their room. I would expect this from an American airline company (the worst customer service businesses on the planet), but not from a top-end hotel chain.
Beautiful hotel, friendly and super accommodating staff. Wish we had more time to use the pool and to relax at the lounge area by the pool. It is close o all. We will go back again. Parking is pricy. We got complimentary water the first day and then no more afterwards. Water is $8 a bottle in the room! Lobby could use some updating.
All staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
The location in Old Town can't be beat. The staff was very helpful in suggesting & reserving dinner. Handled room issue with free upgrade when I didn't accept lesser room. First impressions: a disaster! Tried to give us a double bed for our king reservation. Two of the three elevators were down. Took an hour for bags to make up to room. No towels in room when we arrived. The white wine had been used & filled with water!
The location and the view from the bedroom It's old, run down, not very friendly. The pool, fitness, sauna are all very filthy. It's time to invest and refurb' The price for the quality is very bad, we felt it was a pure rubbery. The restaurant has no flexibility for breakfast and charges you almost $8 for a baggel !!!!! The towels and the beds were completely run down!
Fantastic location for touring Old Quebec City and the Citadel. Restaurant not a great menu. Lobby not very inviting.
We loved the pool area! We had a three year old daughter and she loved it. The location of the hotel was great and close to everything. We got a room for 3 people. When we got there it was 2 double beds. I wish we had a choice as one queen bed would have been better (with a small child) instead of two double beds which was small for a couple.
No pool! Huge disappointment!
Really great location! Prompt staff. Really old. The sink leaked the whole time, the grout was yucky, everything felt really old, the bed was not very comfortable, no pay per view...
Incredible staff (with very good English as well) Great location with lots of restaurants and places to see nearby Historic district a short walk away *Very* impressed with the room would be an understatement - 23rd floor overlooking the old city. We almost stayed an extra night! Everyone was extremely friendly and with our limited French we were able to easily get by (many people answered in English anyway). Parking for a big pickup was difficult. It would be good for the front desk staff to still refer guests to the valet but to know if the guests have a big pickup to direct them to the 2 main places for parking. We were told down and to the *left* which took us to a very tight underground parkade for $24 for 24 hours; however, there was a nice open parking lot to the *right* which was $16 for 24 hours.
one of the best luxury hotels we have stayed at -in the whole world- best location in quebec-friendiy smart staff-we really enjoyed the concord-chuck davis from wisconsin usa
Waiting for elevators was horrible. Sometimes waited 20 minutes....when it finally stopped at our floor it was full. In the lobby there was a waiting line to get on 25th floor tough to take stairs
The food and comfort of the hotel. I liked everything about the hotel.
it was quiet , everything was super
We received an upgrade, which we appreciated very much!
Rooms were excellent, staff were friendly and shuttle service into Quebec city was really convenient It was further out of the city than we first realised and we thought this might be a problem, but as it turned out this was not an issue as the shuttle service provided by the hotel was reliable, comfortable and easy to arrange.
The room was clean, cozy and had all the amenities you need. The bathroom has an amazing bath tub that can be enjoyed with the aromatherapy oils provided by the hotel.
We had a very bad experience at the hotel, but will detail what happened in the complaints email I will send separately. One thing that was missing: nowhere could we find any documentation or pamphlets or anyhing, either in the room or at the front desk, of things to do and see in the city. We were given one map, sponsored by a shop in Vieux Quebec. I was there with my husband and two kids, and we did not have any idea what to do and see.
Location Views We had breakfast at the restaurant and I had the lobster Benedict. The potatoes were stale and my eggs were full of egg shell. I let the waitress know and their solution was to discount 15%. The meal was over $20 and should have been removed. There was a snow storm the day of checkisses out so I informed the FD that we may need to stay. When I went to check out around 2 pm, flight was departing, she said there would be no additional charge. Then she said because they made a new reservation that they would charge me $50 plus tax. I think this is ridiculous. The hotel is well located with great views but is not modern or luxury but sterile. The food is over priced for the lack of quality of the food.
every thing was ok they didn't explain very well about parking, and had some problem, and din't have plasma tv,
Outdoor heated pool and sauna were wonderful ways to warm up! We loved the view from our "river view" room.
i liked the service your staff provided especally the door men i had a auto problem and they were very helpfull and very kind
The hotel is strategically located near the beautiful old Quebec section of the city and to shopping areas and restaurants..
Location, just in the middle of city.... Pay Parking even though have booked room
Familiar chain and knew what to expect. Great, friendly reception. Distance to old Quebec City
the pool and the hot tub and the shower in the room was amazing the fact that the pool closes at 10:00 p.m. and the restaurant was pathetic for the brunch andcheck in should be earlier.
This was a very nice hotel in a great location and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Services was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Service at breakfast was very slow
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was within walking distance to visit Upper and Lower Quebec. it was also close to the city transit which we used to visit the Mall. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would stay there again.
Comfort of the bed, proximity
Excellent Location. Room was very clean, very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.
queen size bed group but not including breakfast
We liked the international ambiance in the hotel, its employees' friendliness and helpfulness and the hotel's proximity to the various parts of town.
Staff were excellent & bilingual Room clean, modern and free wifi Valet parking was great so one could walk (IF you're fit!) the relatively short distance up steep hills into the Old City Pet friendly Neighbourhood was safe, but certainly not the most attractive part of the city
The hotel staff is kind and helpful The room had a funny smell and during the night there was a constant noise of an engine running. On the day of departure there was only one elevator available although big groups of children needed to go down as well and the stairs were locked (fire hazard!).
I really liked the service. They treat you nice even if you don't speak French. The room was great. Nice view. I honestly liked everything about this hotel. If I was to go back to QC I would stay in this hotel. Oh and the manager was great. He answered all my question and gave us suggestions as to what would be best for us to do.
The room sucked. The air was not working. Lousy coffee. I will not return.
The accommodation was excellent
Good nice & clean hotel, not very far from City center, quite conveniently located near Autoroute 40 for people coming from Montreal or USA. Competitively priced compared to other hotels of the same category in the town.
The staff were great, continental breakfast & free parking were a plus! Location was within 10 to 20 minutes from the majority of tourist attractions.
Great for the price!
Clean rooms Lack facilities like electrical sockets, closet for clothes. Not enough space in the room for quadruple occupancy. The air condition louver is fixed, not able to turn.
Great, friendly staff. It was nice that they offered a complimentary continental breakfast. The selection was limited to toast and packaged muffins. It would have been nice if it was a little higher quality, but generally the hotel was very nice.
cleanliness of our room
Easy to find, close to the main highway (take exit 141 if you're coming from the east). Free wireless internet was nice. A bit far from downtown, but close to the main shopping areas.
Very clean. Very good wireless internet. Quiet. good showers. Had luggage carts. Easy access to trans Canada. Some of the Staff find it hard to smile. Others were great.
- The price - Free continental breakfast - Free parking - Close to the highway - Commodities nearby (Tim Horton's, gas station...) We got a smoker's room and were advise of that just when we got to the hotel. And the whole room smelled like an old ashtray. Discusting!!! The room was clean, but was nothing amazing... a basic room. It's unfortunate, but mostly it's that smell that made my experience in that hotel kind of bad... the rest was pretty average.
very good service, clean, not noisy, very kind staff the shelf with hangers should be larger and placed at the entrance of the room, not above the bed
Breakfast -very simple
I liked just about everything there. It's excellent. The swimming pool is small, so I didn't bother to try it.
Hotel was in a great location. Able to walk to attractions and restaurants. Would stay there again. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The concierge was very helpful and affable and the hotel was within walking distance of Old Quebec. I was shocked to see that the hotel's restaurant was "St Hubert" chicken, a chain in my opinion only a bit above McDonald's! But the bartender was pleasant. There was no other choice, even for breakfast. The parking was very expensive for what it was: tight spots and very few of them when we arrived on Tuesday afternoon. The staff at the check-in/check-out never smiled. I found that odd.
Room very good Like a zoo at feeding time hotel could not cope with the number of guests it at breakfast time thank goodness foe the exits down three flights of staire or we would still be there now waiting foe a lift with out doubt the worst embassy suite wqe have stayed in the lobby was adisaster area not worth trhe money we paid
The hotel was clean, service was excellent, lobby had a welcoming atmosphere, rooms were tidy and organized, bathroom was spotless, the hotel women were beautiful. Pillows kind of uncomfortable, room furniture looked a little bit too vintage for my taste. Reminded me of my grandma's home - not a bad thing but interesting point.
I thought it was everything I hoped for and more.Loved that Starbucks was right across the street!
the bed is comfortable; the location is awsome! the free space of the room is too small, also the internet is so bad. Theres one day that the staff not clean our room.
Well located in the centre of the city. Room was comfortable for short stay. Parking a bit expensive though.
The hotel was very convenient to Vieux Quebec and near excellent restaurants. It was very good value and I would stay there again. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
a pleasant reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location with above average facilities and helpful staff
staff was very helpful, bus stopped right at the corner of the hotel, restaurant in hotel was very good
Don't like the fact we need to paid for cafe in the morning if you do please let us know went we reserved so I will stay other hotel I was there to prepared convention for group 56 guests in quebec to bad for you ...pierre C.
I really loved the decor of the hotel, it was beautiful and they used very nice quality fixtures in everything. The styling was extensive whether it be in the room, hallway, restaurant or bathrooms. I thought it was a tad on the expensive side and my request to be placed away from the traffic was ignored. The pillows were very hard...they felt like concrete had set up around my skull.
Cleanliness, friendly, helpful front office staff, good bed and linens and modern bathroom, convenient shuttle to city.
Good location, neer highways and Université Laval. Nice staff. Excellent restaurant. Very beautiful bathrooms. No pool. Very small.
You can hear people walking in corridor. Sound proofing could be better.
I liked that the rooms were very clean, and the shower was great. The staff were very informative and friendly. I didn't like that the resturant downstairs did not have a full range of prices. Everything was too intimadating for my casual dress and moderate budget. I needed a snack Saturday night and had to go elsewhere when I was very tiard.
Good value for money. It's modern in design and kept up well: good for people like myself that have pretty gross dust allergies. It's also pretty simple to get into QC from this hotel: just a right, another right and a scenic drive down 136 and you're there.
The bed was very nice, the room seemed very clean. There was a $2 charge per cup of coffee or tea made in the room. This service is usually free in other hotels.
Design of room and excellant shower
Staff was so polite
The rooms, bed and bathroom were modern and pleasing to the eye. There doesn't seem to be any insulation for noise. It's as though the corridor is right in the room. For the quality of the room, the corridors don't seem to be part of the whole scheme. As well, there wasn't a top sheet, therefore one wonders whether the comforter envelope is changed with each different client.....I doubt that very much. Not enough bath towels, either.
The hotel has nice location , nice and helpful staff, the room was clean and comfortable. 1- There was no microwave. 2-there was no free breakfast. 3- the coffy packs at the room were no free[2 dollars for each pack was not expected].
right in the heart of everything staff was excellent
Very nice room with courteous staff. Pleasantly surprised by the place. The bar dud not open until late and the restaurant didn't serve dinner but with all of the bars and restaurants in Old Town, this didn't seem to pose a problem.
For an extra $20, they had no problem in moving me to a room with a desk and terrific views. I had a ton of work to do and the room was quiet and comfortable and allowed me to get it done ahead of an important meeting. The bed was super comfortable. Just wish I'd had more time to sleep!
A very beautiful quaint hotel , it's clean and the staff are wonderful and it is in a great location walk out and you are in old Quebec perfect located
Excellent professional staff very pleasant and friendly. Clean room. Excellent location around great restaurants coffee shops shopping and petite Champlain which was magical
The hotel is close to downtown and easy to access restaurants and shops. The staff is friendly and helpful. . .
The location was great , and the staff were very helpful.
location very cramped room
The best part about the Hotel Clarendon is the location and it has impressive history. Rooms are fairly clean. Rooms are very cramped, beds not that comfortable and there is no private parking. The reception/concierge could use some brushing up on customer service as well.
Location central to sites in old town
Room was great for sleeping! Bathroom amenities were lovely! Bi-lingual staff. Wi-if. Accessible to all important sites. Old world charm.i I could only open my closet door a few inches since it was blocked by a bed.
The location is fantastic and staff was great. Room was very clean. Did not include breakfast or parking ($25 per night). Only some outlets worked.
The hotel was very stylish and modern, and the room was large and comfortable, with a New York style. We had a large screen plasma tv and a very comfortable bed. The location however, was not actually in Quebec City, but in St. Foy, a suburb about 10 ks from the city. The breakfast was better than most continentals but nothing outstanding. The cleaning staff were a little over eager and walked in on my wife and I, without having posted the sign to clean.
The shower was spacious and bright with a massage shower head No fridge/snacks/coffee maker in the room.
The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful.
Very comfortable, spacious room. Comfortable bed. Easy to find and easy drive to Old Town The breakfast arrangement was a little chaotic on our first morning and there was nowhere to sit.
big rooms not close to really any other things except a shopping mall
The hotel has a wonderful fireplace in the lobby. The rooms are very nice decorated and spacious.
The best hotel in all of our Canadian trip. Great room, fabulous breakfast, most helpful staff. Next door was the Galleries mall with wonderful shops. It was a little hard to find, but once we did, we liked the location.
I really liked my room. It was really comfortable. I also loved the continental breakfasts. The selection was great. I think the fact that I forgot my slippers, and they charged my credit card to send them to me.
Friendly staff; morning breakfast; clean room Pricey and distance from city; hotel needs more lights in rooms and lobby
The Horel staff are very proffessional, they all have a big smile in their face. As soon as you get in the Hotel, they are taking care of you till you leave. L'emplacement de l'Hotel est excellent, en plein centre ville du vieux Québec, en plus c'était le 400ième aniversaire, on a adoré. The bed was kind of narrow, they should have Queen bed in all single rooms. Also, I was on the 6th and last floor and there isn't any safety bars outside the windows, children can easely open the window and fall 30 feet down.
Right where we wanted to be
Proximity to all the attractions of Old Quebec make this an excellent and tasteful choice for the discerning traveller. Staff are warm and well presented. The hotel is very clean, and rooms comfortable. Meticulous! Well done, Manoir Victoria! Paying $23 per day for parking, though I understand it, remains disappointing.
easy access to amenities, spa... food was excellent
The hotel is in an excellent location, within the old town, close to all the sites. Rather expensive; old fashioned.
The convenience to everything. The hotel was very clean/ I think it is over priced a bit. The taxes are high
The location is outstanding, right in the heart of the old city, close to everything. Breakfast wasn't included, but it wasn't a huge deal - there are tons of cafes and bakeries in the neighborhood.
Very Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful interiors, very clean hotel, complimentary Internet and lovely herbal toiletries. Huge flight of stairs from Cote de Palais, Taxis cannot access the St Jean (level floor) entrance because street is closed. Main Lobby desperately needs a lift to reception. Lifts within hotel very slow/unreliable and corridors long. Bistro Saint James was disappointing- waited 40 minutes for very mediocre breakfast. Use Paillard across the street instead.
The hotel was warm and inviting and the staff was friendly, attentive and accomodating. It was located on a charming side street in Quebec City and was close to shopping, tourist sites, and restaurants. It snowed while we were there in November and the sophisticated Christmas decorations made it a magical place to be for the holiday season. My family thought, though while very clean, that the rooms looked dated. I thought they seemed charmingly European.
The staff is most helpful. The main dining room is good and good value for money. The staircase from the main entrance is long and would be difficult for those who have mobility problems or those with heavy luggage which they wish to carry.
Main area where all the activities occur. Parked the car and did not need to touch it for the duration of my stay.
Contenital breatfast (including hard boiled eggs), able to take a coffee with you, the executive room refigerator, and utensils for preparing food and eating
good bedding and specially honesty of the staff . Easy in easy out . Clean and clear
location for my purpose desk in room not designed for business type travel
Very far from the center of Quebec. Very tiny swimming pool (despite the lot of advertisement made on it)
comfort and cleanliness included continental breakfast could have more choices
Room was modern and comfortable, staff was enthusiastic and helpful.
It was a pleasant place, well located, clean and tidy. The pool is small, warm and cozy, our 5 year old loved it! We also enjoyed the continental breakfast. Everything was very good.
The staff was very friendly and greeted us warmly. The proximity to restaurants and other stores was very convenient. The rooms seemed clean (although I couldn't tell from the dark carpet). Our rooms were on the ground floor. They were long and narrow, and in black concrete. Everything was black. Even the bathroom was black and dark! Who came up with the decor and the design of this place?! The darkness in the room made me uncomfortable (even after turning on every single light in the room)
I like the modern decor and the fact that the hotel is fairly new.
staffs are very well coming. I had very good time with my husband , everything was perfect and we enjoyed staying in this hotel.
The hotel was very central easy walking to shops and transport, very spacious, friendly helpful staff. No
The bed was a mattress on a piece of plywood... Very stiff
The design of the room was lovely, good decor, accessibility to restaurants in the hotel. In the lower part of Old Quebec City, so we could wander through both the lower part (which has tons of shops) and take a 10 minute walk to get up into the shopping district of the Old city. The hotel room was very dark, we almost needed a flaslight to see into the fridge. We didn't see any cleaning staff for our entire 3 day stay. To do the dishes it would have been nice to have a dish drying rack, and there were some supplies in the kitchen missing that we had to call for, but service was prompt. We didn't get any advice from the staff about what to do during our stay, so we had to ask staff of restaurants we went to etc.
Good location. They were not very helpful wit directing to parking other than valet parking even though there is a lot right across the street.
Location in lower town and near the dock. Exercise equipment in isrepair.
Lots of natural light. Spacious. Good view from windows. Late night lounge music from restaraunt below. Mattresses should be checked for wear and replaced.
It was within walking distance of the upper and lower cities. The bed was comfortable. The kids loved the free wifi. The hotel is at the corner of St. Pierre & Dalhousie - very noisy corner. We had a room on the back of the first floor - overlooking the PetroCanada station. It was very noisy with traffic and gas station noise. The second night, we were moved to the front (picturesque side) at our request, only to be disturbed by very loud music from the restaurant and bar immediately below. This was NOT a "Suite de Luxe Plus." It was not worth nearly $250.00/night. If you must stay here instead of somewhere in the upper town, then be sure to request a room on one of the upper floors. The first floor is awful.
The rooms were spacious and clean. Comfortable beds too! The shower head didn't move so our bathroom would get soaked every morning because it was a glass shower and there was nothing stopping the water from exiting the area.
Convenient to downtown sites. Clean, friendly staff, nice restuarant. We would stay again if in the area.
Suite decor and location. Jackhammer construction noise from 8-5:30 everyday.
Location Noise level, room layout, booked 2 identical rooms, when we arrived one was considerably larger, bigger bed etc. it wa not clear that parking was extra.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They tried their best to meet our needs.
wonderful staff, clean, well maintained facility, excellent location within old quebec, comfortable lower level lobby with bar service, amazing movie theatre for watching world cup soccer, honestly nothing comes to mind. Panache can be viewed as expensive, with a limited menu, but the atmosphere and friendly waiters suit the hotel nicely. Guests have many other choices close by.
We loved the location of the hotel in the historical part of the city. We were very happy the concierge was able to get us a table for dinner at the Panche Restaurant, they always seem to be fully booked.
It was a gorgeous hotel, very well located, excellent cozy bar with beautiful fireplaces. Romantic. What I was very disappointed with was that the description of my booking provided by booking.com was not accurate:1. Booking.com said the luxury room which I spent extra for was 400 sq foot - room was barely 300 sq ft with a terrace outside. What the heck do I do with a terrace at -15 degree weather?? 2. The description said large bathroom with separate bathtub - not the case. It was a small bathroom and shower/bathtub were one. I noticed through the floorplan that the rooms on both sides of ours did have bigger bathrooms !! What's the point of providing that description to us if you do not deliver! 3. Booking.com said there was just provincial/federal taxes applied. A third tax was also applied to our bill. Very disappointing.
the hotel was very modern yet homey at the same time.very clean and staff was pleasant. no complaints
Central Location Excellent breakfast and dining Consierge was not available at all times/
The heated bathroom floor was fabulous and the rooms were great! It was a very special hotel and museum all in one. Panache restaurant was the best for breakfast and dinner! Superb!! Nothing to dislike!!
I liked being in old Quebec and the historical sights I left letter of complaint about our room
We had an absolutely fabulous holiday in great part due to the amazing team at the Auberge Sainte-Antoine. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hotel is well located in the lower city with easy access to the river front and the funicular to upper town. Madame Quay arranged multiple events for our group with great success. The entire staff were always courteous and knowledgable. Make sure to take advantage of the Penache Restaurant on the property for breakfast and dinner. I will be back!!
We loved everything about the place - the discreet friendly efficiency of the staff, the great location, the stylish room...
The cozy atmosphere but with design elements including objects excavated at the site in the old lower city. The staff is very responsive and found me pure green tea (true green tea lovers don't like flavored green teas, but few hotels know this). Nice restaurants nearby and also in the hotel. The lower town is less touristy than the upper town.
