The sea view room was well worth the extra money. Good food and attentive service. The loud music in the bar where we were going to eat but decided against this. And went out instead.
Good central position, even with alterations taking place the hotel did very well to not let this effect our experience and enjoyment. i felt the staff serving on the were not aware of who was being attended to, a lot of people were trrying to get their attention , myself having to wait over 10minutes to place food orders and drinks.
good parking, friendly staff,
The leisure facilities
Good central location in st.Hellier Modernisation has not yet been completed
I enjoyed using the spa facilities, and the food was excellent.
All staff were very helpful during our stay and very accommodating. The food was very good. Room very comfortable with very good facilities. Not having a sea view!
The bathroom was stunning.
The hoel staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help - they appeared to really enjoy their emplyment. Everything was fine - one of the best htoel stays I've had for a long while
The staff at the Grand Jersey were exceptional. Throughout our stay I can say we did not have one complaint during our week. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until the time that we left. The food was lovely, breakfast service was wonderful and room service was a real treat! The Spa was fully booked quite often and it was very difficult to book treatments, however this is merely because the Spa is very good and it only reminded us to book in advance next time!
The convenience of being near to St Helier and also a good setting off point to other parts of the island.
kindness and helpfulness of staff
The bar area and breakfast were very good with the staff very helpful and the bonus of friday jazz night. The noise from the saturday night party [wedding] in our room was very annoying.
Staff were excellent - nothing was too much trouble
Staff were helpful, but communication could be difficult as English was not their first language.
Lovely hotel, pleasant staff, excellent rooms, food superb in the Montana Restaurant, nice cosy lounge and bar
The breakfast was very good. The Hotel room was very very tired and old.
Well run hotel that enabled us to have a relaxed break in Jersey
Friendliness of staff
very easy & central for exploring island. room we had was very cold in the evening, heating in room failed.
Excellent food, well served. The heating/air conditioning system, which was difficult to control, leading to disturbed sleep.
I liked the location (being close to both the harbour, st. helier and the bus station). I wouldn't really recommend it for a long stay with children, as the pool was quite small and not really aimed at children. The Merton Hotel is where we usually stay (when travelling with the children) and that is fantastic for them. However, for adults only the Radisson and The Royal Yacht are both fantastic for a stay in Jersey. The rooms are excellent and beds very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful too. The mini bar only had two bottles of water in it. That's about it really!
all the staff were polite and nothing was too much trouble. the food was excellent. the standard room we had was 1st class. well done it would have been nice to have had a nice draft hand pull beer as an option in the bar.
The hotel is located in an excellent central position with very helpful and friendly staff. The city certre is a walk away as is the ferry port. We had a wonderful stay.
Staff extremely helful Didn't like having to wait to be seated for breakfast, especially out of season
The view of the harbour was excellent both from our room and the bar area. The scrambled egg on the breakfast buffet looked as if it was composed of chopped up boiled eggs from the previous day.
Lovely room, great ocean view, freindly staff at spa, good bar area, Very average breakfast, staff on reception and in dining room not very freindly or helpful, waiting room for spa area felt like a dentist's surgery, treatment rooms very claustrophobic
Nice quiet and relaxing hotel where you could chillout
The location was perfect, the cleaniless was excellent. The breakfast was first class with plenty of choice. My partner and I would gladly visit again. We liked it all!!
The view overlooking the harbour and the buffet breakfast. The sauna and steam room were an added welcome after a days' walking The smell of fish in the evening as you enter the lobby. This was every evening and not very pleasant
Friendly TV Reception
The spa Restaurants rather expensive
my wife and i enjoyed are stay at the hotel, very nice clean comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. i read a couple of reviews about the hotel before booking and they seemed a bit disappointed with the hotel but personally we did enjoy are stay and would definitely come back.
very friendly staff, they made me feel very welcome. I had a single room and i have never had such a small room for the money. i plan to look at alternative hotels for my next visit.
the spa and pool facilities. the quality of the buffet
Friendly, helpful staff and good, comfortable facilities. I would have liked an easy chair / setee in my room.
breakfast was brill and the reception staff were very helpful trying to get me to were i wanted I thought the food at night time was a bit exspensive
A building of character well maintained Not the comfiest bed
Very friendly staff. Good customer service. High standard accomodation.
Hotel was good for bed and breakfast, rooms clean and a good bar. Only problem was the lack of packing space,
Clean room and comfortable beds Good and varied breakfast and quick service Having just returned home I discovered that I had left a valuable ring in my room, after inquiring about it, I have received a call to say it has been found and will be sent on. I am delighted! Small rooms Lots of little stairs, a bit of a warren
Friendlyness and very helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay comfortable Had to ask for the items mentioned in welcome pack as were not ready in accomadtion, eg , hair dryer, phone . Also towels were very worn out eg large holes in one or two and frayed
it was very good value for money at £29.00 B&B for a double room, however at that price it is a gamble, breakfast was fine, but not a gormet exprience, poached eggs cooked well and the hot breakfast was cooked to "order" - not under arc lights The shower was tempremental, either a faulty regulator or distantance from the boiler, hot water always came, eventually... First time took 5 mins, In asking for another room then I learnt half the hotel has been refurbished and half hasnt, we rejected the other two rooms offered (stained filthy carpets as opposed to wood laminate flooring) and perservered with the shower
Large comfortable bed, clean bedroom and public areas, fried breakfast was well cooked and presented. Staff not proffessionally dressed some building leaks were clearly evident when rained. Cold buffete choice limited, Bathroom and some internal ares dated.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and airy with comfy beds and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were a real treat and great to relax in- we had them completely to ourselves! The hotel is just across the road from the beach and is about a mile from the centre of St Helier. On the evening we stayed in, the hotel bar lacked atmosphere with football on the television and the bar food was very basic (the fresh beer battered fish had obviously been frozen), however we did visit out of season and the restaurant was closed.
It was a one night stay for business. Ideal. The car alarm that went of at 0300 and kept going off!!
Very helpful staff and the location was excellent small room and bathroom
The common areas, cuisine and location. The shower was inadequate, the bath took ages to fill and there was no mirror suitable for short-sighted people.
It has a great sense of history, individual style, attention to detail, and the guests comfort comes first.
The comfort of the room and high quality of food presented at breakfast and evening buffets
Staff everywhere in the hotel were better than first class. Reception was fast and helpful when needed. Patrick in the bar was low key but effective, efficient, with a great timing for the next round. Finally, serving staff for breakfast could not have been better. Narrow bath and a light-weight shower curtain means that anyone taking a shower finds themselves trying to hold the shower curtain at a distance and work the shampoo with one hand. Rust points at the top of the bath safety bar made it look fragile. Room 305 is rather tiny to be classed as "Executive". In Europe it would be an ordinary room at around 90 Euros per night (but without the Pomme d'Or top-class breakfast).
Location of hotel is good. Choice of restaurants and food.
Very pleasant and efficient staff, on arrival, excellent room very clean and spacious, food was excellent again served by pleasant and efficent staff. Kept awake most of the night by party goers outside, two sets of double glazing did nothing the dull the noise and we were on the fifth floor.
Just what i have said here. Clean, high quality and very friendly. Our company uses it all the time and I can see why.
freebies + use of spa, excellent hotel facilities everything was great
The spa was wonderful. The manager has a somewhat snotty attitude when checking out. I was asked twice if I had taken anything from the fridge.
Attention to customer needs
There was a very friendly and tranquil atmosphere. Most relaxing
the fact you were made to feel so elcome and nothing was too much trouble but with out being hassled.
the staff was extremely friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable booking a spa hotel i expect to be able to use the spa, but this is only open to guests 8-10am during breakfast and 6-8pm when you would like to get ready to eat. unless you book a treatment then you can use through the day. could not eat in the hotel at all restaurants was either closed or booked , but no advice on booking the hotel to make sure this is booked prior to arrivals
The Food, The Honesty Bar the Staff..all good
Very good hotel, service and staff great and in a good location.
All staff on reception were more than helpfull didn't like the view out of our window
Our room was clean and well equipped and inviting to return to after a busy day. The situation of the hotel was perfect for our requirements ie closeness to shops yet very peaceful in rooms. Staff very helpful and obliging. Didn't like restricted times for using pool, not that we used it but we might have done if we could have used it at any time - if we had booked a spa treatment, we could have used it any time on that day.
excellent value for money breakfast was very good had everything you needed, was hot and presented very well the sauna had been closed and i stayed at the apollo last year and was not informed of this change but only a miner hitch didnt spoil my stay
Excellent priced package Room a little dated and in need of refurbishment - pink bathroom suite!
Ideal for our trip which was to attend a ruby game and my first visit to Jersey.
Efficiency and helpfulness of the staff, indoor pool and jacuzzi, set menu for evening meal was value for money and well presented. On departure the room across from ours was being cleaned, we were surprised at how big this room was compared to ours
Very accommodating staff with indoor swimming pool
big bed in single room and swimming pools
the rooms need updating and revamping
Staff were friendly and helpful Single room was very small and I had to change to a double
Breakfasts were very good No atmoshere in dining room for evening meal, and compared to breakfast , dinner was very poor
The hotel was in a good location, the breakfast was very good, the staff freindly, The room could have been cleaner
the staff are all very friendly not baby friendly
food was very good need much better coffee in the rooms, forget fair trade try quality
Staff extremely accomodating. Room very comforterable. Location excellent. Food and dining and facilitiites good. Quick response to any of our needs.
THe staff wre extremely welcoming, hotel had a real presence about it with a great selection of bars and restaurants
The staff were exceptional. Friendly, Helpful, always at hand to help with any ideas of how best to enjoy your stay. In comparision to other establistments in the imediate area the menu in the Zephur bar was not great and not good value, which put us off eating in any of the other bar/resturaunt in the hotel.
Accessability. helpfulness of reception staff and porters. Cheerfulness of restaurant staff especially when under pressure. Accommodation charges particularly those applying to premier rooms are on the high side.
very comfortable bed and good breakfast close to opera house for concert.
Staff approach to customers fantastic, customer service very high nothing too much bother. Its nice to see staff smile.
Staff was excellent at all levels. Noise from karioke pub in square for room with harbour view.
Freedom and security of no crime and it location Breakfast: no choice for vegeterian, tea cold, no brown bread orange juice watered down.
Food excellent Beds - springs on bed were so warn I could feel every spring, and was only a 4ft 6 in bed (partner over 6 ft., so the bed too small). Had to sleep on the floor the first night because of the bed springs. When complained they moved us to another room. Rooms very dated, and tired, and overheated without air conditioning were stifling.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was very quiet.
I thought the reception staff were helpful and the hotel has just recently been decorated and is now very modern. The cocktail bar prices were the same as the local pubs and i was expecting it to be more. We did not get a chance to visit the pool but from what we saw it is a shame we didn't make the time. The location was excellent and near all the shops, beaches and pubs. I could not fault the housekeeping they were great. Apart from the breakfast it should be a 3 star not a 2 star. The breakfast was terrible. We were given one sausage, one slice of bacon, fried egg, some mushrooms and a tomatoe. Not enough for me but maybe for a 5 year old. The service was slow for it not being busy as it had just opened its doors at 8 am, we were finaly seen to after 15 minutes. It will not stop me from advising friends and family to visit the Mayfair.
the atmosphere was one of welcome, and although I am single I liked the fact that it was very much family orentated. the staff could not do enough for you.
the facilities and the location were excellent...and value for money Breakfast service was very poor; asked on 2 days to share table with other guests - whilst there were plenty of clean tables available; no courtesy in asking us or the couple we were to share with...annoyed us quite a lot when the head waiter would not even listen..should have complained and would have done if staying more than 3 days. He actually spoilt the start to the day.
The accommodation was clean and very comfortable staff were friendly staff in dining room were very efficient
Location. Lack of air conditioning, poor sound proofing, hotel has seen it's best years, breakfast was modest at best, parking places were small and almost always occupied.
Pleasant surroundings, convenient for exploring the area and within walking distance of centre of town.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff at the reception were very helpful. The shower in the bathroom was appalling and staff at the breakfast could not speak English so some orders were wrong, otherwise very nice.
hotel staff frienndly very helpful, room had mildew above the bed and in the bathroom, had a main meal on the sunday very poor, expensive
Very friendly hotel, rooms cleaned daily, we had a premier room which was worth the little extra. None
Friendly staff Evening meals not a very high standard
This is the best hotel we have stayed in for along time, very clean, rooms have every thing you want, management & staff very helpfull, will be comeing back in june for alonger break. Thank you all for a very enjoyable stay.
Friendliness and help given by all members of staff. Food quality was very good and portions very good. Very relaxing hotel.
Pleasant place, comfortable beds The walls were a bit thin, as I could hear the couple in the room next door...
Helpful Staff. No airconditioning in the room and our bathroom was no more that a small oblong with toilet at one end and shower at the other. The sink was in the main bedroom/
Friendliness of staff. Quick breakfast service Hairdryer kept cutting out.
The hotel was clean and welcoming, and after a busy day very comfoting. A very good base. The only thing that could have been improved for me, As i dont walk to well it would have been wonderful if there had been a bus service. Not every one would agree, but one nearby would have helped me.
It was well equipped, nicely decorated and the free internet access was a nice bonus.
The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful, and our room was very clean.
Room furniture and layout good , though a little small .Bed very comfortable . Warm . Bathroom good . Excellant provision of toiletries. Shower lacked heat and flow of water . Television had a very poor range of channels . Room was a little on the small side . Sachets of coffee were only Nescafe granules.
Friendly Staff Nothing
An excellent hotel with friendly and courteous staff. Some issues with the room allocated to us but overall pleased. Some rooms seem like they could do with greater soundproofing. Level of traffic noise disconcerting and through most of the night.
Graet food in the restaurant, evening and breakfast my double room was rather small - ok for one, would have been a tight fit for two, especially over a few days! Chairs (esp desk chair) very uncomfortable
Clean room, Wifi good, food good, breakfast OK Staff were very efficient especially in the resturant, clearing plates away around 1 second after the last mouthfull, Felt rushed, but the food was very good
Good restaurant and bar with varied menu and good portions. Fresh, modern decor. Good location. Room temperature could not be adjusted. Car park small and on other side of busy road.
I stayed at this hotel with my 19 year old daughter for 5 nights. This hotel has charm & elegance of bygone days. The waiting staff are extremely helpful & attentive- particularly the young Irish waiter! The dining room where we ate breakfast each morning is very grand & spacious. The buffet breakfast was good & you could order eggs/kippers too. I enjoyed the pictures of Jersey cows on the walls. The bedding is pure cotton & the beds are very comfortable. The hotel was about a 20 minute's walk into the centre of St Helier, (quicker if you walk through the road tunnel)- I love to walk so this was a good point for me. We were very lucky to have a holiday without a single cloud in the sky- there is no airconditioning in the hotel, as far as I could see, so it did get hot at night. The towel rails in the bathroom were hot all the time so this maybe increased the warmth in the room. However the bedroom windows could be opened fully, so this cooled the room a little.
The staff were excellent as was the food. Great value for money.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We only had one evening meal but that was also very good. Or first room was next to pool on the ground floor. This was very handy however the room was too warm especially at night (we think it was above the laundry room). When we mentioned this we were moved to another room on the first floor without any fuss. We were asked to pack personal items and the hotel staff would took care of moving everything for us. The hotel was a good 15 minutes walk to the town centre.
the breakfast was very nice the fact you could not smoke in your room
The ropoms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were fantastic all prepared to put themselves out, always smiling and helpful. The only complaint wewas the beds, a bit lumpy and could feel the springs!
Staff attitude Too far from town
Nice friendly staff, unpretentious surroundings, The fried eggs at breakfast were over cooked!
Service and cuisine was first class. N/A
The leisure facility. The breakfast service. The location. Bed cover sheet appeared unhygenic. No air con in rooms.
We enjoyed the food and the service excelent. The hotel needed an update in the decorating.
The staff very friendly helpfull handy for town also easy parking
Location good Beds mattress should be replaced very LUMPY,(Feel springs)
Near the centre of St Helier Poor position with no view.
Friendly and helpful. Large room. Changed bedding after a few days. Good choices for breakfast. Nothing too much trouble to help with booking taxi's restaurants etc., Just the decor.
The excellent cleanliness, space & good air. It is far enough out of the main city to be relaxing, quiet and personal. The breakfast staff were friendly, prompt, efficient and helpful. The general staff and bar staff were friendly, helpful, worked hard and smiled. The anxious person in charge at breakfast asked if I needed any help, when really he was saying I had to sit at a certain table. The choice of hot breakfast was not very extensive for a vegetarian, although there were plenty of other cold choices. I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring. The pool was closed. I didn't find the tourist booklet (in the bedside table) until the last day.
The gardens were very well maintained and the pool. The room was clean and quite large Staff were friendly and helpful. Lack of heating. There was only a wall heater single bar high on one wall.
i liked the bar area the outside area looked nice. i thought the food was generally poor.i felt the rooms needed refurbishment.i didnt have a bath in my room and didnt have a double bed
I came with my family and we all enjoyed our stay with you and i would like to come back, thank you all very much
We liked the friendliness of all the staff - they all had a ready smile. The gardens and pool area were beautiful - maintained to a very high standard.
Courtesy bus. Lovely grounds. No lift at the Hotel. Our room on 4th floor. Although we had help with our luggage this room would not be suitable for elderly people. Accidentally switched heater on in room and could not turn it off. Had to call reception to take the fuse out of it. Once switched on its on for an hour before it switches off. No instructions in the room to alert guests to this and to be careful you do not switch it on by mistake.
Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, convenient, quiet No internet access in room, colour tv too small and kept turning b&w and crackling, noisy people at front late at night.
Staff helpfull and pleasant at all times
Pool area, clean and safe for younger children, large spa bath, well kept gardens, food varied, plentyful and tasty, staff on all levels pleasant, welcoming and helpful, very comfortable and well kept rooms, plenty of parking space and of course the complementary bus service to St Helier. Sorry but I feel that dinner was too early at 6.30 I would have prefered 7.30 as this doesn`t give enough time to change after a leisurely day round the pool. Could use the large function room more, to dance in the evening.
