I loved this hotel. The only issue I had was non-functional vending machines — I wish they would have a small store instead.
Pros. Rooms where quiet.
Cons. The room have a closed up odor and the stair way stunk.
Pros. The hotel was great except for an incident with the pool and a front desk staff member. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and pleasant as were the breakfast staff. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and chose the hotel to use the pool while we were on a trip to Salt Lake City. The first day my daughter and I enjoyed the pool and had a great time. However the second day I jumped into the pool and noticed something at the bottom of the pool. I was suspicious of the object and grabbed a towel and put it over the object with my foot and brought it up out of the water. It was clearly fecal matter. Thoroughly disgusted I got in the shower and cleaned myself off. I then went directly to the front desk and reported the issue. The front desk agent said she may need to close the pool to which I replied yes of course you should close the pool. The front desk attendant then came with me and I showed her the towel with the fecal matter on it which was lying on the side of the pool. I pointed into the pool where you could still see some small remnants of the fecal matter. (They were obvious as the pool was very clean except for them.). I returned to my room, took another shower, and then went out to dinner with my family. When we returned from dinner two hours later we walked by the pool and I was astonished to see at least eight people including children splashing about in the pool. I also noticed that the towel with the fecal matter on it had not even been moved. Incredibly disgusted and concerned I went to the front desk agent again and asked her why she had not closed the pool. She did not have an answer. I told her it was a health code violation and that those people that were in the pool were all being exposed to harmful bacteria that could sicken them. She acted as though I was making a big deal out of nothing. There was no one in the pool when I reported the issue. I found it incredibly disrespectful of guest’s health and safety to have done nothing about the contamination and knowingly allow those unsuspecting families to use the contaminated pool. She didn’t even move the towel!!! I understand accidents happen but I found the front desk agents disregard for health reprehensible. I question if she was trained on what to do in this type of situation. We will not be staying at a Best Western again.
Cons. The front desk clerks were awful. When we checked in we asked for a handicapped room to better accommodate our daughter in her wheelchair and other specialized equipment. The front desk switched languages to talk to each other and didn't even care if we understood them or not. In our case we did. They were talking about saving the rooms for someone that really needed them. At the time we had our daughter out in the van to avoid having her in the cold too long. They later told us the handicapped rooms were not available in English even though they were talking about them being available to each other. The room we ended up with did not allow her wheelchair to turn around without hitting a bed and the only room they said they had available was on the top floor. We made due with the room. In the morning the breakfast that had such positive reviews online did not pass the test. The eggs were sitting out so long that they were rubbery. The yogurt in the fridge was all expired. Then to top things off I was carrying out my daughter's medical equipment through a side door nearest the parking lot when they turned off my room key and I couldn't get back in. I had to walk around the building and when I stopped at the front desk to ask to get the key turned back on the clerk wanted me to check in for another night. This was 9:30 in the morning. The quality of the room was not good. There was water damage. The bathroom door had problems shutting and it looked like they had sanded the door to get it to close at all but didn't even bother to paint over it where they sanded it.... just left it at the bare wood. It is hard enough to travel with my daughter and her special needs and equipment but the front desk staff made the whole experience awful. My family and I will never stay here again.
Pros. Comfortable king size bed. Spacious room. Cheaper parking than the airport plus a shuttle to get you to the airport. Complementary breakfast
Cons. The couple in the room next to us was not loud, they had their tv on and they were talking in a normal voice yet we could hear them as if they were in our room. We had an early flight and needed to sleep but we could hear every door shut in the hotel and every bag roll down the hall. We didn't sleep much that night, in truth the plane ride offered a better atmosphere and we slept great during our flight.
Pros. Everything is pretty new
Cons. A lot of the facilities are broken, water wasn't hot, and very limited choices for breakfast
