Great location. Wonderful customer service. Loved the valet service.
Needs a little updating. Understand the historical aspect to the hotel, but still. Not sure if the heater wasn't working, but our room was freezing. Attempted to higher the temp, but to no avail. Didn't want to but front desk at 2am.
Historic charm. Room looked out to the Alamo. Walked everywhere, no cab needed. Bar in the lobby was fun, friendly bartenders. Beautiful during the holidays.
Servers to the tables not available in the bar during a busy time, had to get up and wait in line at the bar.
The history of the hotel is incredible
It’s a great place to stay: the location is great, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place; I enjoyed just walking around and taking in the history! I contacted the hotel to inform them I’d be getting into the city earlier than expected, and when I arrived, before noon, my room was ready;, I was able to check in and enjoy San Antonio right away! The view was great; I requested a scenic view, and from my window I could see Alamo Plaza. It was a great stay. I liked this hotel a lot and will be back.
It's really close to the Alamo and shopping. It is historical.
The hotel's rooms were dated. The carpet seemed old or cheap. Twin beds? Really? And we were so far from the elevator. It literally took over a minute just to walk to the elevator from our room. It was hot on the 5th floor. They had to bring us a fan because we couldnt get the room below 78 degrees and the staff didn't really seem to care that much about it.
I made my reservation in November. The night before I left for San Antonio in February I got a call that my room was cancelled. I never stayed at the Menger! They offered to put me up in a hotel way out on Loop 410. I'll never attempt stay at the Menger again!!
had several sets of rooms. sent a descriptive review already. would be the same for this set of rooms.
I had reserved the rooms for adult children, spouses, their adult children who came for a family celebration. The all liked the Menger. They found staff to be helpful. For one of them, the room next to them had a noisy guest. The hotel moved my family members to another room where they had the quiet nights they needed. I was impressed by the ease with which that switch was accomplished. Parking staff was helpful in tending to my car when I came to meet & pick up family who stayed there.
There were no complaints from anyone
Great Location, historic and very romantic!
Small bathrooms were the only thing, but you have to consider that this building is very old and that adds to its attraction as a romantic place to stay.
The building is interesting
The rooms and bathrooms, beds are not confortable and showers are bad cold hot cold hot water cept changing also toilet to noisy, also room smelled pretty bad.
Staff was friendly and Help full
Parking was open air and the car had a dirty and the wind screen was water spotted when returned. At the cost per day the least you could have done was clean widows if the only place to park is outside.
