Rooms very clean, bed very comfortable
Noise rises from ground level around 5am as employees begin breakfast routine
The only issue I had was the TV was to the side of the bed instead at the end of the bed.
Location is great. Right behind Alamo & a block from Riverwalk. Breakfast was very good and plentiful - much better than most hotel "free" breakfasts.
Mattress was super firm and pillows were a bit hard.
I enjoyed staying in a historic hotel and the location was wonderful, being right next to the mall, Riverwalk, Alamo, etc.
Room was a bit small but not a problem. However, the air conditioner was obviously very old and loud, which took a while to get used to. Had to pay extra $24 a day for parking.
I picked the Crockett for its location and its price. My boyfriend and I just wanted to get away for the weekend, and spend some time on the Riverwalk, and this hotel provided just that. Just across the street from the River Center Mall, the Crockett has very easy access to the Riverwalk, plenty of restaurants, shopping, and it's also butted up against the Alamo :) Plus, they offered a complimentary breakfast, which was nice to get up for.
The rooms were a bit smaller than the pictures led me to believe, but what hotel doesn't do that? I wouldn't say that the Crockett is very romantic, but it suited our purpose :)
Location, historic charm, view (on the Alamo side), window shutters, large rooms, good weekday rates
The beds are rock hard, the air conditioner was very loud, the pool is across the alley, the parking costs $24, the breakfast was meh
Pleasantly surprised. My expectations were low given the amount I paid for a 3 day stay and was impressed upon room entry.
Clothing alignment within closet. Not enough to obscure my rating though.
Excellent location for access to all attractions around the downtown area. We could take bus to where we wanted to go.
Wi-Fi access was not working smoothly for the first time, we needed to call tech center to get connected for our laptops. But, once connected, it worked fine later.
Great historic hotel in the center of where we wanted to be. We could walk out the front door of the hotel, cross the street and enter the back of the Alamo grounds. Absolutely beautiful! Our kids loved that we could walk to the River Walk and explore. Beds were comfortable, no fridge or microwave but it's a historic hotel, I didn't expect them to have the electricity to support all that.
Great location, the room was clean and modern
The beds were very comfortable. The location was convenient.
There was no fridge or microwave. I thought it was a bit over priced.
Service excellent rooms little small but very nice and cozy. Breakfast was the best part of the day do much to choose from. Great location.
When calling front desk took them a long time to answer. I even had to call twice before they would pick up. The elevators are a little small but they work at least. And again the rooms are quite small but it's just due to the history of the hotel.
Great service and excellent location if you don't mind walking a block or two to the Riverwalk. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Rooms were a bit small, but we didn't live in there so the tight quarters weren't a problem at all.
The location is terrific, and there is a sense of history.
There is an electric forced air freshener in the front reception that is so pronounced and so noxious that we could not stay in the area to talk. Other than that there is no "lobby" area for conversation. The atrium view rooms have shutters that don't block out light sufficiently. All noise from the atrium tile floor (starting very early in the morning) reverberates up the atrium awakening guests (ask for an exterior room to avoid this). Some of us had to change rooms due to terrible beds. So smells, noise and bed quality were all misses for us and we will definitely not return nor recommend The Crockett.
Had problem with water dripping from the AC intake vent onto the carpet in front of the bathroom. Reported to staff next morning and they said they would have maintenance look at it. Bed uncomfortable.
