Breakfast was ample and varied.
Some of the staff was not as helpful as they could be. We got conflicting and insufficient information from various staff members regarding shuttles, etc. Seemed eager to say “can’t help you” rather than “how can I help”. Not all, but some staff.
Wonderful staff, great facilities
Everything was clean, many amenities, attentive staff. Recommended!
Parking exit onto Pacific Highway
Visibility is very limited in both directions when exiting the parking garage. Pedestrians can't see cars approaching the exit and vice versa. I almost collided with a group of pedestrians. Maybe some signs or flashing lights to alert drivers and pedestrians? You just can't see oncoming traffic on the highway without almost putting your bumper at the edge of the street.
Location great, but long in the tooth
Positives are the location, location, location & accessibility to Gaslamp district. Staff was courteous (enough). Breakfast was decent.
10 years ago, the Hampton was worthy of being in the Hilton family. The staff person didn't bother to tell me about the amenities or location of anything, but noted that he did that for another customer. My smoke free room reeked of smoke and the only thing they had available (they said) was the handicapped access room on the 2nd floor. The elevators are stuff and hot. Parking is cramped and nightly fee is a tad high. I needed to iron my clothes for a party and the iron was broken. When I returned the iron, the staff person was snippy and acted like I was incoveniencing her. I did not feel I was demanding and was very polite. another cust. complained that the AC was not adequate.
The location was perfect for gas lamp district and petco park, just a quick trolley ride away. Walking distance to the trolley and to little Italy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfy and had an enjoyable trip.
The beds were too soft for my liking. My fiancé prefers cool showers and the water only came out warm/hot.
Great location, friendly staff and nice breakfast.
I specifically picked this hotel because it was the best deal and had an airport shuttle. I was bummed when my flight arrived at 1030pm to find out the shuttle stops at 10pm. It would have been nice to know that beforehand.
Paying for parking
The train was not even a problem!!
Worst Hampton inn I have ever stayed at!
The location was great. But that's about it.
Shower head broken! Tile cracked and falling apart. And most of all the bed was uncomfortable. The main reason why we love to stay at the hamptons is because we love the beds! Unfortunalty this was not the case.
It was clean ,quiet and located in just an ideal location for a great walking vacation.
comfortable bed included breakfast with some healthy options wifi worked well airport shuttle, but does not pick up after 10 pm
thin walls, can hear conversation through them my room was over the dumpsters (5 am trash collection) greeted one morning by a cockroach crawling out of the shower drain
Location to maritime museum.
Train runs very near the hotel. At least they provide earplugs with the room.
Easy to get to where we wanted to go with public transportation. Clean, good location, friendly/helpful staff and full continental breakfast.
Nothing was mentioned in any review or description of the hotel about the trains going by right behind the hotel until about midnight. Our first clue there might be a noise problem, was the earplugs the hotel provided on the night stand.
the location was great, the breakfast was better then expected, free computer in lobby came in handy.
The staff was very courteous and helpful.
The cleanness of the hotel and the quality of breakfast.
Staff were not particularly friedly ad I have an important issue that I will make a complaint about.
Wonderfull employ, nice area , good ambiance and reasonable price.
very noisey cant sleep at night because of train passing through. car parking is charged. i was told it wiil not be charged because of handicap.this was un faithful.
Good location close to the airport and free shuttle bus to it. Spacious room with nice furniture.
The railway is located right behing the hotel and the trains cause noise every ten minutes when passing the city centre! Trains are whistling continuously so this hotel is maybe not the best possible choise for persons who are sensitive to noise.
Good sized clean room. Helpful & polite staff. Nothing fantastic but nothing wrong either.
