Location and staff were excellent.
This has been the worst three nights of sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The noise level at all hours is unbearable. The first night our room was located right next to the train tracks and we were kept awake by signal beeping and train noise all night. We complained and the staff moved us to another room further away from the tracks. The next two nights we were kept awake by car traffic noise and homeless people yelling at all hours of the night. The air conditioners sound like Diesel engines cycling on and off all night long. The hotel location is great but the hotel is old with sub par HVAC and single pane metal frame windows that are not energy or noise efficient.
Beds super comfy and clean.
We really liked the staff and fun atmosphere of the hotel, The daily riddle was fun to walk into the lobby for, breakfast and front desk staff were very helpful and attentive to our requests and needs.
The noise from the trains made me plug my ears. Location is about 30 feet from the tracks and the whistle and horn blowing throughout the night was waking for me. Nothing the hotel could do about it. FYI my son loved the trains and crossing arms going up and down at all hours.
Overall, this hotel was nice. The location was extremely convenient being close to all of the Maritime Museum, Little Italy, and a light rail stop. We stayed here on Independence day and had a nice view of the Big Bay Boom fireworks show from the pool deck.
Having stayed over the 4th of July holiday, the hotel was extremely crowded. That was fine except that the breakfast setup was clearly not suited to the hotel being at capacity; we repeatedly had to wait in long lines just to find out that the food had run out. However, a few days after the 4th, the crowds left and everything was quite nice.
Long lines for Breakfast.
