I spent a week at Hotel Zelos, and had a great stay. The staff was always super-friendly at all hours of the day, the rooms were clean and comfy, and the location was pretty convenient. There are nearby grocery/convenience stores, restaurants, and good proximity to the Embarcadero for waterfront runs. The rooms were pretty "stock" hotel rooms, but they were clean, the linens and towels were good quality, and the bed was nice. If you're sensitive to noise, I had a room over the front entrance, and you could definitely hear traffic and sirens, but I think that's just part of staying in a dense city. Definitely nothing the hotel can really do much about! I would have liked breakfast hours at the restaurant (7-10) to start a little earlier, but the one meal I ate there was tasty (if a bit expensive). Overall, I had a great stay, and would happily return on a future visit.
Pros. I liked the coffee in the morning and the location was excellent
Cons. They charged an additional charge and $60 per night per vehicle to park... would have been nice to know in advance
Pros. The hotel was super clean, like tremendously clean! Ideal location which was super walkable to everything! Didn’t even realize that they have bikes you can use. If I wasn’t pregnant we would hve definetly used them. Everything in the city was a quick walk or uber ride. Restaurant on the 5th floor was surprisingly great. Super great stay here. Almost didn’t want to write this review because I don’t want this hotel to get super busy and raise prices!
Cons. No negative comments really.
Pros. The location was great and my room was quiet.
Cons. There was a bit of mildew odor in the bathroom. If not for that I would have given an excellent rating, instead of good, for my stay.
Pros. Close to everything in Union Square, clean and nice-looking inside.
Cons. ...but that translates to a little over $300 a night, which isn't really worth it. Avoid it during the conventions in town.
Pros. Good arrival and wait staff were both friendly and efficient. The door man was great and the team inside were extremely helpful. I have stayed in other SF hotels in the past and Hotel Zelos is a nice addition to the city. City hotel rooms can sometimes be small but the rooms at Zelos are very spacious! I also would like to say thank you for an overall smooth and fun experience! From booking on line with Kayak to speaking directly with the hotel, to checking in & out, everyone was super friendly and consistently would go out of their way to be helpful.
Cons. Mixed message on parking After speaking with associates on two separate occasions. Then the confusion in the garage, mind you I thought I lost my ticket to return however I unpacked it when I arrived back home this evening. There was a problem between the hand written sign in log from the valet and the printed report from the front desk and the hotel's portion of valet claim check system also did not work. I retrieved my vehicle because I brought the only two matching keys and I have matching handmade key chains attached. Breakfast table with two nice chairs rather than a rolling office chair. That was weird. But it was also SF PRIDE weekend so who cares!
Pros. Front desk personnel and bell service were exceptionally helpful. Rooms were nicely appointed - largest TV I've ever had in a hotel room. Central location right at Powell St. BART Station allowed me to get there quickly from Oakland Airport.
Pros. The staff was very friendly. The driver to the airport (George in the Towncar) was very courteous.
Cons. Need a coffee maker in room. Not a deal breaker though of course.
Pros. Room was great. But we were placed next to the ice machine....the wall there sounded paper thin throughout the night as guest needed ice.
Cons. Being stuck next to an ice machine at 2 am
Cons. Windows face directly into office building just 10ft away. People in the office can see directly into your room
