Comfy bed, organic coffee in morning, recycling, friendly staff
Bathroom could be a little bigger
The shared facilities were always very clean and were never busy. The room we stayed in was quite small but it didn't need to be large. The staff was polite and helpful, the airport shuttle was super convenient, and we had a great time staying here. Bonus: it's near the powell/market cable car turnaround so it was super easy (and fun) to get nearly anywhere in the city!
The room was really clean and the staff was all friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is located a t the heart of SC so it's always convenient to go sightseeing
The room is really small given that the hotel is located in dt San Fran... Personally I am ok with this since I travelled alone
It felt like a run down shack of room the only thing good about it was the location. other than that everything from the service to the room itself felt like i was staying in a crack den
It's a great location and affordable. Shared bath/toilet but it was always clean when I used it. Rooms are small so extended stays might get cramped but it's great for small stays or solo trips.
Great price for the area. Just enough room needed for a short trip. Great location right next public transportation.
You can easily hear all noises outside the hotel windows. Since its a busy city this can be a lot at times. No A/C but did have a nice ceiling fan that circulated the air very well.
Terrible tiny rooms. Shared bathrooms
The location was great.
The rooms are very very small and noisy.
Clean rooms, comfortable bed and nice decor, bay window and window seat in room.
Our second floor room was so loud it was comical--The windows are very thin and there is a recycling center behind the hotel, trucks beeping and bottles crashing every 30 minutes all night long. Sometime around 5am, we heard random hammering from the level above us for about 2 hours. They were also redoing the roof and put a ladder up on our fire escape at about 7:45am, covered our window with a tarp, and loudly dumped shingles off the roof to the street for the next 5 hours (when we checked out). They knew about the construction and room noise prior to us checking in, but did not notify us, and did nothing when we complained. We will never stay there again.
The staff were friendly and professional.
Absurdly expensive and your room is the size of a closet.
The rooms are extremely tiny. The total of the room price and parking fee ($45 a night) was not worth it.
clean. ok location.
no bathroom in the room. Had to use community bathroom in hallway. Very cramped!!!! Elevator took forever!
Great Location. Relatively cheap. Rooms just right, simple but elegant.
The Mosser was exactly what myself and my husband wanted. It was by far the least expensive hotel that was not a motel or hostel. It's located right in the hub of downtown San Fransisco within about a block of BART stations, the cable cars, and the convention center. About a mile away is China town and the docks for ferry rides across the bay. The staff of the Mosser was extremely friendly and helpful. On Friday nights they have free wine in the lobby around dinner time. In the mornings they offer tea, coffee, and some small pastries (which is more than most hotels in the area offer for breakfast). We also got a 10% discount coupon for Macy's upon arrival. We had one of the smallest rooms, but it had exactly what we needed. A comfortable bed, tv, sink w/mirror, closet with robes and an ironing board. We used the shared bathroom and shower in the hall - which was no problem at all.
Our shared shower tub did not drain the best. Once we had to use the shower on another floor.
The location couldn't be any better. You are close to almost everything. If it's not walking distance the cable cars come within 1/2 a block. The staff is nice.
The room we had was very small. some of the previous comments mentioned small, so I was kind of expecting it, but I didn't believe it could be that small. You have to go in the hallway to use the one of the two (one male, one female) toilets, or showers and you hear everyone else that is doing it also. eventually you're sharing with 24 rooms on the floor. I think next time I would rather spend a few extra dollars and have my own bathroom inside the room.
Excellent location, less than two miles to pretty much everywhere so great for walking everywhere.
Rooms definitely too small to be priced as such, should be more of 50$ a night, especially given hotel guests still pay 45$ a night for valet parking.
I liked that it was affordable with some nice perks like wine on fridays, door man, and unique building. The rooms with shared bath/shower are small but all I need because I don't hang out in them. They were clean and provided all I needed.
The temperature was very variable but the fan helped. The robe they provided is a bit see through.
The way the room was set up and decorated was comfortable. It felt like we (my best friend and our 2yr old daughter) moved into a furnished apartment in Downtown San Francisco. The bed was super comfortable and enough space for the 2.5 people. Our daughter appreciated the television and the window towards the city. My best friend appreciated the in room sink and the robes which made the trip to the shower more comfortable than we imagined. We all slept well bc of the quiet yet powerful ceiling fan. Loved that it was a Green establishment.
Expected a little more to justify the cost. Parking pass would have been sufficient.
Unique architecture, walking distance to downtown attractions and friendly staff.
Premium price for parking and limited breakfast options.
Not much of anything
The room was ridiculously small, there was no air conditioning in the room!!! Wtf?! we had share a bathroom down the hall and the construction around the hotel woke us up at 530 in the morning. There is no cheap parking and we had to pay 35 dollars for the one night we were there. The breakfast in the morning has very small muffins and coffee. By far the most ridiculous and worst hotel stay I have ever had. I won't bother to go to San Francisco again. Everything is overpriced and over crowded.
The staff was very friendly and the rooms/facilities were clean.
It was super expensive given the fact that you don't get a private bathroom and there was no fridge in the room. No AC either so the rooms got extremely hot and it's in a very noisy neighborhood so opening the window is also obnoxious.
Location was great. Easy access.
Tiny rooms, no work out facility or amenities. It is a room to sleep in and that's about it. I was lucky to have my own bathroom in my room. I believe some rooms have to use the hallway restroom.
It looked cool from the outside.
I guess it is my fault for not looking closely at the details of the booking, but I assumed I would have my own bathroom for almost $200 a night.
Room was tiny!
