Overview

Built in 2008 near the Moscone Convention Center in the business-oriented neighborhood of SoMa, the InterContinental is largely geared toward business travelers but is also an excellent choice for vacationers looking for top-notch service, well-designed rooms, and quality features at very competitive rates.

Intercontinental, San Francisco is a ten-minute walk from Union Square, and only one block from Yerba Buena Gardens and Performing Arts Center. Kid-friendly attractions can be found two miles away at Fisherman’s Wharf, and a San Francisco Giants game can be found one mile away at AT&T Park. Several other area attractions are within proximity to the hotel.

The relatively spacious guest rooms at the hotel include all the high-end comforts, such as WiFi, cordless phones, iPod docks, and big flat-panel TVs with HD channels. Stunning views of the San Francisco Bay and the city skyline can be seen from higher floors. Up-to-date electronics and a comfortable design make these some of the nicest rooms in San Francisco, especially for the price.

The high-quality amenities offered at the hotel are top-notch for the price and neighborhood. Features include a large, 24-hour fitness center, lap pool, hot tub, gift shop, and free breakfast. The draw for many guests is the business center and 43,000 square feet of function space split between 21 meeting rooms. The hotel also features a Michelin-star restaurant with a well-known chef and the city's biggest selection of grappa.

InterContinental's luxury-level service, high-tech guest rooms, lap pool, and Michelin-star restaurant make it one of the best values in San Francisco.

Everything was good. I was told they needed a $200 deposit for room service, which would be fully refunded upon checking out. When I checked out I was informed they would keep $70 for city fees. This was not apparent when booking and was not explained when checking in. I was told it would be fully refunded on check out if I didn’t charge anything to my room. It wasn’t, this left a bad taste in my ...

I've always appreciated the Intercontinental Brand, and this hotel certainly continues their prominent tradition of providing excellent customer service and care. I was a little hesitant to travel to SFO due to the media portrayals etc, however the areas I stayed in (including here at this hotel) were completely removed from any vagrancy or homelessness which made me feel incredibly safe walking t...

Pros (+) The room was very nice and very comfortable. Service was teriffic.
Cons (-) I could hear noise from other rooms through the vents late at night. Food was just okay. And $62 for Self Parking is ludicrous for a half-empty garage - even in San Francisco. It was almost half the price of the room. No good.

Pros (+) The room was amazing and clean... The bed was very comfortable, the view was great but most of all we were impressed by the incredible staff - so friendly, professional and helpful! What a great experience.
Cons (-) Honestly I cant think of a single thing... The hotel is working hard to protect their guests and are constantly cleaning/sanitizing... Very grateful!

Pros (+) I was on a top floor with a good view. Very friendly staff; I know they are all doing the best they can in this tough times.
Cons (-) If you plan to stay here long just know that no room cleaning is done until you check out. My stay was for 6 nights and I was only informed that my room would be cleaned on the 5th day when I was checking in. I know this is due to covid and them being careful but which person what to stay in a room that’s not being cleaned?! On the 3rd day I asked for my room to be cleaned and since they have a ti...

Pros (+) Comfortable bed, clean, and free room upgrade!
Cons (-) Parking situation was not good. The hotel has first come first serve self parking because of COVID but charge valet prices still. The parking lot was full so I had to find use a public parking lot.
