Better than expected after some reviews
Location was fine and room was clean.Liked the fact that you need your key to access the lobby (you feel safer). had a room in the back, so did not hear too much noise. Front desk staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. Very good Tapas restaurant a door down
Stairs and elevators were not that clean, so I got worried about the room. But the room was good, very very small but perfect for attending a conf in SF. wash clothes and more drinking water would have been nice
Great location, cozy, clean and friendly
Loved the location. The rooms were clean, cozy, quiet and cute. The staff was great. Very cordial and helpful.
Room was a bit small but I was expecting them to be.
About Touchstone Hotel - City Center
Built in 1920 and family-owned and run, Touchstone has been providing San Francisco with a combination of traditional San Francisco charm and budget travel for decades. A short walk to Union Square and the top destinations of the city, Touchstone is reminiscent of the hostels that peppered the city at the turn of the century. Modest rooms are clean and outfitted nicely. However, travelers should note that not all rooms are air conditioned.
The hotel houses 60 guest rooms. WiFi is available in all sections of the hotel. Guests can enjoy the complimentary coffee and transportation. The staff is friendly, offering multilingual staff and full concierge services. A barber and classic San Francisco style delitesserian are conveniently housed on the first floor.
Loale may be the number one draw for guests staying at the Touchstone. Desirable neighborhoods such as Nob Hill, North Beach, Wall Street West, and Chinatown are a short walkway. The quintessential San Francisco trolleys are close enough for guests to hear from their room. The posh district of Union Square lies at the doorsteps of the hotel.
With great location and helpful staff, Touchstone provides guest with the stereotypical family owned experience. Great for the business traveler or couples, Touchstone’s is San Francisco's undistributable best value hotel.
