They forced me into buying full coverage package which was nearly triple the cost I was expecting. They did a relaxed inspection of the car when I picked up and a very thorough inspection when I dropped off, nitpicking things and adding them to their insurance claims which I don’t think I was responsible for. I’m glad I did have the full coverage in the end because I believe they would have charged me for an entire windshield replacement based off a small ding on it from a rock that could have been easily missed on the lazy first inspection. Otherwise car was fine considering the areas terrain and they were efficient, easy to talk to.

They didn't have the car that I reserved and paid for. They wanted to upsell me on a SUV they had. Why do I need to pay more when they didn't have what I reserved? They try playing games by asking for ridiculously priced insurance and deposit.

They did not give me car. I was not able to get a refund. SCAM They say it was overbooked and I had to rent for 3 times the amount on short notice a car from another company. You don't have much choice after a 13h flight in the middle of the night. They said the did not get any money and they too said they are not in charge for refund and I did not get anything in writing.

Reserved a vehicle that would hold 8 people. And when we arrived they were trying to give us a grand Cherokee that only fit 5. They ended up giving us 2 cars to get to our hotel, but the other guy that had to drive was not comfortable driving in Mexico. So we went to the hotel and stayed there. They were supposed to deliver a van later that day after 4. And we after calling and calling they finally brought us a car the following day at around 5pm. So I paid for 3 days. And used the new replacement for a total of 18 hours… still charged me full price, and wanted to charge me for the fuel for the first cars that were driven. When you tell someone you’re going to have something, or tell them you’re going to be somewhere at a certain time then you should do it. I will not be renting with Mex rent a car or using kayak ever again.

You are forced to purchase third-party liability insurance as your credit card coverage or your regular insurance policy is not valid in Mexico. We were aware of this coming down and we were prepared to purchase the insurance. However, $500 for third-party liability for 10 days is ridiculous. The neighbour in the condo we were staying pays $300 for the whole year for his liability insurance .

We booked a car for $140 for 6 days. I checked several times to make sure the car rental was at the airport, not with a shuttle. When we arrived, and finally found an attendant for U-Save amongst the crowd when you exit SJD (Cabo) airport, he indicated we would take a shuttle to the car rental office. We still waited 5-10 minutes for the shuttle. When we finally arrived, they said there were mandatory insurance fees of nearly $60/day, which would bring my total closer to $500–that’s more than triple the price I had reserved with. That was supposed to be the total cost. After much back and forth, they said there’s nothing they could do and that this 3rd party insurance is required in Mexico. We were almost going to agree, about to start the paperwork, then they said they would have to charge $1500 as a deposit for incidentals. This was NOT a hold, this was going to be a charge that they would refund. I’ve rented cars before and I understand a deposit for incidentals. But this amount seemed outrageously high, especially in light of the forced insurance. We decided to skip the car rental altogether and just used taxis/Uber to get around. It cost us much much less, and definitely less headache. I would never ever book with U-Save ever again. And generally be wary of renting a car in Cabo for that matter, as they just try to impose additional costs and triple the anticipated cost.

I purchased a rental with all insurance including third party liability included. At the office they insisted I could not get the car without purchasing supplemental third party liability insurance (SLI). Phone call from the agency that I booked through didn't make a difference. They wanted to charge about 40 USD/day in SLI, which clearly would have been excessive even if TLI wouldn't already have been included in the rate I paid for. Ended up not taking the car as just their SLI would have cost me 5x what I paid for in car rental fees. I would never rent with them again and encourage no one else to do so unless they're happy paying 40 USD/day for just SLI (if you need CDW it would have been up to double that).

This was not published anywhere when booking the car: at pickup they make you pay either $105 USD/day for supplemental liability insurance, or a $5000 deposit to cover the value of the car. Completely unreasonable hidden fees! The pickup also took almost an hour. I would not rent from them again!

The process was confusing The rental was for 3 days I purchased the reservation and car collison insurance. When I got to los cabos there was a van that drove us to the rental that was nice. When we got to the rental place they were asking us to purchase more insurance through them or else we couldn't get the car. It was between $3000-1000 USD for the deposit plus a fee of 200-90 USD Something like that. I may not understand rentals in mexico but I'm more accustomed to a couple hundred not thousands I didnt want to deposit that kind of money so I decided to not take the rental.

The rental cost was only a 1/3 of the price after paying insurance and other services costs. Rather misleading. QEEQ also said the Hertz was located in downtown San Jose Del Cabo which is not convenient. I was pleasantly surprized to find out the Hertz rental was within a km of the airport

Awful. Forced to purchase Mexican insurance which pushed the cost to almost 4 times of what was confirmed when I booked. Complete false advertisement. Car battery died and left us stranded. No wiper fluid and no tools to change a tire. Left feeling ripped off. Avoid all car rentals during high season in your travels to MX if you can. This insurance scam stuff is a pervasive issue.

The absolute most rudest staff & human beings we have ever had to work with. Customer service is horrible. I have already submitted a claim. Run away from this place! Complete scam of a company. Over charging for insurance. Staff will curse at you when you ask for paper work. My wife took a video of the situation which has now been posted all over social media. We hope we shine some light for those who would even consider renting a car here. Run away! Do not rent a car from the Europcar in Cabo airport area literally a few steps from the arrival & departure of the airport. We are disgusted & can believe my family had to endure these ruthless acts from these unprofessional people.

Renting a car in Mexico is a rip off. Once you think you have secured a rental fee you get hit with not only one type of insurance coverage BUT 3. So your rental ends up being very expensive. If you have a credit card that can cover your basic needs, IT IS NOT ENOUGH to satisfy the do call coverage. In addition, they send you a letter telling you that because of high demand your vehicle is not available, BUT they a wonderful upgrade for 3 or 4 times as expensive. We ended up renting from a different vendor, and ended up being less expensive and my credit card satisfied the basic coverage. However, we had to sign o declination on all other additional BS.

We NEVER found our rental company or vehicle-ended up having to rent onsite with a different company and definitely paid more than we had intended. We thought this deal was "too good to be true," and it was. Will never use this service again.

We arrived and were told that our “reservation” was not so much a reservation as just a sorta… we put you on a list and if there is a car you may have it situation. Had to wait for hours until any ole car became available. On top they of course didn’t honor the advertised price but charged us about 3x.

It took 2 hrs to get my car after traveling 10 hrs. horendous. Was told that the rental cars were at the airport by Thrifty. Drop off office was not where they said it was.
