Very nice free breakfasts and a well stocked kitchen if you want to cook. Friendly staff with reasonable excursion prices. Enjoyed zip lining and horseback riding. Cloud forest nature with guide was disappointing. Saw very few animals. Very comfortable lounge and restaurant. Free but spotty wifi unless in lounge. Tiny rooms with only one nightstand and no drawers, closets and few places to hang stuff. Basically your stuff will be on the bed or floor. Shower was weak and again no shelves. There is one five person room under the lounge. It is noisy so try to avoid it.
Nice place, smell of wood made it feel warm and cosy. Rooms are spacious, wifi not reliable in the rooms. Little out of the way. However, if you want to do canyoning adventure it's right across the street. Not easy to find at night. Nice spacious rooms, private, good views from restaurant and balconies, clean rooms. Over all good experience
Problem with handicap parking from check in. Could not get to room for more than half hour due to tour bus blocking lot. Reception said they checked in before you. Nearly every time we tried to come or go a bus was in the way.
The grounds are beautiful. Awesome views. Good jungle trails. You can even zip-line on the premises. Rooms are large, well furnished and clean.
The view is amazing, room was beautiful with vaulted ceilings; the view from anywhere on the property is amazing; staff was friendly, food was good- no complaints- the resort is on a steep hillside, it's really not an issue ( 40 second drive from the bottom or 3-5 min slow walk to our room 3/4 of the way up the property) -shower is like niagra falls and as hot as you can stand- my wife had no complaints and that is amazing - two thumbs up from Santa barbara ca. The Grass was too green, too many rainbows in the distance , sky was too blue, Saw too much ocean From our deck/ lanai :) Our girls had too much fun ( 4 and 7 ) - the room was too big Don't hesitate, go. I've stayed in some pretty nice places and this one won't disappoint, despite a few reviews I read before going ( I'm still spoiled living in Santa barbara ca and have some reasonable expectations, my wife on the other hand sets the bar very high and had no complaints which was shocking- even she was shocked when she said it )
The hotel is beautiful! The view is amazing especially from the upper buildings where you can see all the way over the mountains to the the gulf and to guanacoste in the distance. The rooms were very nice and very comfortable beds and very clean. They have their own hiking trails at the top and it was wonderful to hike at our leisure through the cloud forest. They have their own zip line but we did not try it, but it seemed a nice quiet option compared to others. We saw lots of wildlife right there at the lobby and the dinner at the restraint was amazing! We talked about it the rest of our trip! And service in the restaraunt combined with the atmosphere definitely makes it a fine dining experience. The hotel is also a nice distance from town. The amenities are very nice. We would consider staying here again. The only negatives to this hotel were actually minor ones that would have just made it a more perfect experience overall. The fact that it is in such a large area they use shuttles to take you from one location to another. It is extremely steep and long to walk/hike especially to upper buildings with the beautiful view, so the shuttle is almost mandatory unless you are in excellent shape. They are more than happy to shuttle and most times are timely except there were a couple of times that we needed to wait up to 15 minutes for the shuttle. Otherwise the shuttle service was very good. The breakfast buffet was very nice but the view from the big beautiful window is the staff parking lot and bushes. It was a shame it didn't have a view, but I suppose you can't always have the exceptional view. The family pool/workout area was very nice and under an open canopy. The pool was a somewhat comfortable temperature but it was very cold with the night mountain air blowing in and there was no hot tub which could have made it a nicer experience.
This is a lovely hotel if you are looking for a rustic and quiet place; it's a few minutes from central Santa Elena. The views from the cabin were breath-taking. On a clear day, you can see the Gulf of Nicoya. We loved the hiking trail on the property. It got chilly at night (low to mid-50's)and since the cabin is not heated, it's important to bring extra clothes to keep warm. However, the shower was wonderfully hot, which is very important in the mountains.
Upon arriving you are greeted with a fresh juice. The staff was extremely helpful and honest when recommend activities in the area. Great variety of both local and comfort food. Walk anywhere in town. Was not in gps. Driving there at night is very very difficult.
The hotel itself is beautiful, the landscaping is breathtaking and it's really quite wonderful. The walls are EXTREMELY thin. You can hear someone sneeze. No exaggeration. I'd bring ear plugs or try and make sure no ones next to you.
hotel facilites, as well as breakfast was great the clerk at the front desk was often unkowledgable about local acitivies, and we even had to call our previous hotel's front desk to arrange our monteverde activites. at other times, the clerks were misinformed and gave ur factually incorrect information
Ease of parking. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Proximity to Santa Elena (5-10min walk). Towels didn't smell great. Hot water in the shower was sporadic. Having a mini fridge would be nice.
I came to Monteverde just for the ziplining and hanging bridges at Selvatura Park. This hotel was in a great location to go there by rented car. The hotel includes a great typical breakfast every morning. The rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable. Not many luxuries, but it's a great place to sleep and shower. If you use google maps for directions to this hotel, the last street it has you turn on before reaching the hotel is very steep with dirt and loose gravel. It was pouring rain when we arrived so my two wheel drive SUV had trouble making it up. Would have been no trouble with a 4x4 vehicle, but even then I would go around and use one of the other streets to get to the hotel.
I would highly recommend Belcruz B&B to anyone traveling to the Monteverde area. Our room was spacious and spotless. It was just two of us but there were two rooms that could easily accommodate 4 people. The owner put a lot of time and thought into the landscaping and property. I enjoyed the little hike between the rooms and the restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. My favorites were the homade granola and jam. The hospitality of the owner was some of the best I've encountered anywhere. He was genuinely happy to have us there and went out of his way to accommodate. A great value overall. I will stay here again if I return to the area. No complaints.
