The beds only had a sheet on and those quilts they never clean all stained. There was dirt and hair in one bed and there also was an outlet with no outlet cover hidden behind it. The maid only came to bring us towels and never brought toilet paper.
Nothing The " First room " we were given, didn't have a bed or chairs .The second room didn't have a toilet that worked. They sent someone to fix it and said it was fixed but it ran all night long and still didn't flush right. The room was dirty. The floors were slippery like they had some kind of film on them. The furniture had stains all over. The walls were crumbling. Overall the room was dirty and disgusting.
Great location right on the beach. I liked they had someone who did daily activities with everyone, golf tournaments, egg toss etc on beach that was a nice treat for everyone The room had no window, the AC unit was in what was called the window and at night there was a light blaring in so you had to close curtains so you could try and sleep and then you could not get full effects of AC unit. The noise was un real someone walking up and down stairs could be heard. Basically every time someone sneezed you could hear them. So I went to have some fun and did but got no sleep.
Location is great, rooms are large, pool is great size. The pool water had a bad smell to it. The rooms are very old and out dated, needs a serious renovation to the bathroom. There was no iron or hair dryer so be aware of that. We asked for a 2 hour late check out and were told we would have to pay half of the day rate( meanwhile the hotel was empty that day). I will not return to this hotel.
Location to the Boardwalk is extremely convenient. The room was cold and uncomfortable. The furniture was old and stained. Bathroom plumbing old and seemed ready to break. Dirty caulking around tub. Towels were old, thin and disintegrating. Overall, we were not happy and uncomfortable.
Right off the boardwalk. The staff was nice and friendly. It wasn't a bad stay for a two night beach adventure. Not very wheelchair accessible nor were the room very clean but it is a beach front hotel. The tiki bar plays music too loud to sleep if you plan to sleep before 11 pm.
When there was a problem, the staff was very accommodating. A/C worked well. The pool was clean and the "swim-up" Tiki Bar was nice, but only open on weekends. There were TOO many problems. Rooms/beds too small. Refrigerator broken. 10 channels on old-style TV. No phone. The WI-FI stopped working. Limited parking: only a few parking spots at hotel. You can get blocked in & have to get them to move car blocking you or you have to park almost two blocks away. The elevator broke one day. Limited ice supply and only machine at front desk. The bed was so uncomfortable, we did not get one good night's sleep. It seems this place is stuck in the 70s and not in a good way.
Staff was friendly. Pool was small, but clean and warm and lovely, with plenty of toys and fun slide. Grateful for mini fridge and nicely stocked mini kitchen. Location was good, quiet. Near laundry and nice grocery store. Room could use updating. Stove top ancient, flat screen tv rather small. Bathroom tiny.
I really liked the clean sheets and the two blocks to the boards was an easy walk. The motel is a bit older, but well kept. Could use some updating, but nothing is in terrible need of repair. What I didn't care for: Blackout curtains ONLY. Would have liked some other curtains to allow in sunlight without allowing EVERYONE to see inside the room.
Awesome ice machine.
Privacy Needed clean wash cloth and towels and had to wait until morning to get them because there was no one to call .. The office was closed
It was an okay place for the weekend. The beds went that comfortable an don't use there towls. There all stained. They keep the cleaning supply an towls in a garidge. It was a good price that why we went there. Don't think I would want to be there when its crowded there. We only had a few rooms with people from what I could tell. Towls were gross an the beds were hard.
Our annual trip to the shore includes two related married couples, so we always try to find a place really close to the beach that has a room with two large beds. Last year we stayed at the Tropicana and thought it was okay–not well taken care of but the location was good. This year I took a shot booking a room at the Mango after reading mixed reviews–it appeared to me that the negative reviews were perhaps isolated incidents and need not be taken too seriously. One block farther away from the beach and $20 cheaper, Mango blew Tropicana out of the water! The distance made no difference because it is already on the road we take straight to the boardwalk–short walk away–and for $20 less we got a nicer room (wood flooring), better amenities (flat screen tv and better beds), cleaner facilities, super friendly manager, better parking (they have 2 lots), and perhaps a bit more family friendly, if you're looking for that. We were well pleased with our stay, and give bonus points for being allowed to stay in the side parking lot with our parking tag for the rest of the day we checked out without having to pay for parking anywhere! Super sweet! We booked the room through Kayak, and there were no problems–just showed ID and the card used, signed the receipt, and got the key. We didn't even have to formally check out when we wanted to leave and hit the beach–we just left the key in the mail slot. We'll likely stay here again for future trips to the shore! Water pressure in the shower was light and temperature fluctuated a bit, bit this isn't really a problem. We were there for the beach and salt water, not awesome showers; so, not a big deal.
Location to beach and boardwalk was good. Room was clean. Beds were pretty good. Room was not as pictured online. Online showed a little kitchen area, room did not have that. Tub had seen better days but shower worked well.
Nice pool, hot tube. We were on the second floor and had a good view. The room was cleaned and comfortable. We got a two bed and also had a table to eat and space for our luggage.
Location Room size, bathroom
Nothing Pictures looked better than run down motel that it is. Had to charge my phone in the bathroom, but it didn't work, old fashioned small tube tv, clock didn't work, lamp didn't work, wifi didn't work, air conditioning never got cold, bathroom was sweltering, run down mismatched furniture, no headboards, no blankets, had to use comforter for a blanket. Parking was ridiculous. Had to race back to hotel and ope you got a space-which was very tight anyway. Never will stay there again and seriously don't understand how Kayak portrayed it as a nice motel. It was a real dive. Good reviews had to be written by family members or owners themselves
Staff was nice. Room was clean but needs to be updated, especially for the price. Too expensive although I did book late. We were told we didn't need a car parking tag when in fact we did and got a notice that it would be towed. A lot of adult party people. Phone did not work.
Location When we arrived we were given a room and entered to find someone in there finishing up showering. We didn't get a clear explanation but apparently they let previous tenants use the room well past check out and clean up time to shower etc. really set a bad tone for the weekend. made us question whether our room was secure. Also didn't like knowing that someone was using our room and it was not cleaned after they were done.
Great, it was clean. We will be back next summer. n/a
Location right across from the boardwalk and beach with easy access. The staff were very attentive and accommodating to our group. The pool area is quite nice and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The rooms we're a little out of date, but nothing that caused any concern or presented any problems.
Raf was the perfect host; location couldn't be better!
Staff was friendly and very nice. Great location for beach and boardwalk. The hotel has not been kept up. Room we stayed in was moldy dirty and had furniture /appliances from the 1970's. Stairs looked ready to collapse. In desperate need of paint.
