Location Road conditions in lot need improvement
The beds were comfortable and had the fastest elevator I have ever seen. The view of mountains was nice. The pool and gym were very small. When u look at that beautiful exterior of the building u would think u were getting the best of everything for the money u spend. There is no security in the parking lot either..
The king bed is very comfortable. The internet is not fast enough to stream videos, and juices in breakfast is not that fresh except orange juice, waffle is firm like rock, little choice.
nice view very very noisy doors, one rude front desk staff with attitude, unorganised management. secluded nothing within walking distance. issues with lifts
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was clean, comfortable, beautiful view and very accommodating! Thank you!
Good location comfortable rooms Front desk not friendly at all. No attempt at being nice or helpful. Seemed annoyed that we were checking in. Lol
Amazing stay. Couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. The hotel was very, very clean, modern in style, beds were extremely comfortable and every staff member was sincerely friendly staff and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a plethora of healthy choices. Vernard & Gus went above and beyond to assure our stay was perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Very nice Hotel Staff :) Very comfort like home...
Staff was exceptionally friendly. We had our two yorkies with us and they were treated so nicely by the staff! It was a pleasure staying at the Homewood Suites - the rooms were so clean and comfortable. N/A
I arrived at midnight. The staff was extremely accommodating. Everything about the hotel was lovely - it looked and felt like a more expensive hotel. The bedding (especially the pillows!) were extremely comfortable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was well maintained and clean. There was abundant parking. The room was beautifully spotless, tasteful, contemporary, well maintained, and had modern amenities. Even the wireless was great. Getting to the hotel from the main road was a trial, but that just seems to be a New Jersey issue. There's nothing that they could do about it.

Nothing There was no hot tub in the pool area. The pool was super crowded with screaming children. The AC did not work well.

Nice and calm place
Overall good experience Air conditioner unit was a bit loud
The man who checked us in was very nice and quick. He was very nice to my young daughter. Especially when he found out it was her first time in a hotel. The young woman who checked us out was also very nice and help and also quick. The entire staff was very and greeted us constantly. They said the wifi was free but when we tried to log on to it with our phones and my daughter's ipad it wouldn't work. When we tried to follow the steps they left in the room to use it, it just kept bringing us to a website to pay for it. Also the restaurant connected to it didn't have much of a kids selection. So we had to go out for dinner. But the breakfast buffet there was very good.
Stayed for the 2014 spartan race. Great accommodation, cleanliness and comfort. Nice size fridge and microwave too. Love that they give you warm choc chip cookies at the check in!! A great choice of hotel.
Everything.... Was the softest bed ive slept on... Bad for the back.
Clean hotel, comfortable beds and very quiet. The staff was nice. We stayed 2 nights and I wouldn't have minded if our stay was longer. There aren't many choices in this immediate area, but judging by the looks of the other hotel I saw, this is the best. Our room was at the end of the hotel, so maybe that was the culprit, but the wifi was terrible. It constantly dropped in and out to the point where it was effectively useless. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10:30 and my wife and I got there just before 10 and they had already closed and were setting up for lunch. Ours and the key card of another guest stopped working on the 2nd day, which was a little annoying, but not that big a deal as it was easily reactivated.
Desk Staff and Cleaning Staff very helpful Not noted
It was a very comfortable ad pleasant experience. The rooms are modern and very clean.
Hotel is accommodating for pets. Price was reasonable. Bed was very comfortable. Was not told about pet rate. Hotel charged my credit card upon arrival and didn't tell me. Location could be better. Route 17 is a nightmare.
Nobody entered my room while I was sleeping. That's about all I can think of t for the positives... The hall ways smelled like urine. The air conditioner was very loud. I had a room on the front of the building, and the traffic noise was terrible. The walls are very thin, and I could hear everyone's tv while I was trying to sleep (during normal sleeping hours), and I could hear people from nearby smoking rooms coughing loudly all night. Also the smell of smoke was fairly pervasive. I was not expecting the Ritz, just a clean quiet place to sleep. That is all. I was asked upon departure how everything was, and I mentioned to the gentleman at the front desk it was very loud and obnoxious, and he just said "oh, sorry about that, have a nice day".
The proximity to our event and food, gas, etc was fantastic. The staff were amazing, as was breakfast. It was fantastic to have four pillows on a double bed! Not every hotel does that. Clean and comfy linens. Mattresses were on the north side of firm, but I'm a side sleeper and prefer a softer bed, so that's just me. The floors are not level, both first and second floors. The bathroom sloped down so you felt like you were falling when using the facilities.
Clean room, good restaurant in the hotel. The staff was rude, no elevator. They expected me to carry my heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs and did not offer to help. I ended up throwing my back out. Thanks for nothing.
The staff was good. The property was reasonably clean. The towels soft and the beds comfortable. The microwave and small fridge are a nice convenience. This is a very old property and it shows its age. Odd old smell. There is no elevator. If you travel with heavy suitcases, ask for a first floor, there is no help. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything in the next room. The A/C conked out for a bit and there are no screens in the windows so opening them was not an option. There is only a front desk clerk, no security; guests run rampant through the halls after leaving the on-site bar. Wedding guests woke us up every half hour while continuing their partying in the hallway. I'll pay more next time and stay at Homewood Suites or Marriott Residence. But if you're not too picky and need to save money, this will be a good fit.
Staff was great Near the highway
Everything More pillows
Rooms were clean Needed more TV channels
Location is right off the highway and close to the major malls Exterior looks dirty and low-class; people hanging out in front smoking seemed like junkies and vagrants.
Well located, 45-minute by bus to NYC, next to Garden State Plaza mall (almost walking distance), good value for money WIFI would drop literally every minute. It was connect-drop-connect-drop-connect-drop all the time. If you need wi-fi in your room for business, you may want to consider another place to stay (or maybe another room - ours was 422, maybe a bit far from the antennas?)
good lockation, clean room, very good for 2 stars, staff was very friendly and helpful slow internet conection
Very clean, room was very beautiful, some of the staff was very friendly, restaurant next door was delicious. The hotel is really beautiful. Check in was simple and easy. They allowed too many guest to hang out in the lobby.
This hotel offered a very clean and friendly atmosphere for a very reasonable rate. Would stay again when traveling to nyc! The continental breakfast was more extensive than I expected. Good job here! I would like to see a full service restaurant open that serves lunch and dinner inside the hotel.
Hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke but room didn't.
Clean room, clean lobby. Courteous staff Difficult to get back onto the Gardenstate Parkway North from there.
No power! Couldn't iron clothes or do my hair no electricity, had to go to gas station to fix my hair for a graduation, toilet smell like urine! Sink was clogged! Customer service was not all that!
Great Breakfast for continental. A great restaurant beside the hotel. My mattress needed replaced. It sunk to the middle bad.
he the layout of the room.
I like the fact that I was able to book the room on short notice I did not like the fact that they do not cater to your typical family on vacation very uncomfortable when it comes to dealing with front desk and some Of the staff will never return it's my own fault for not planning ahead Which Is why I laugh when you have a question on the survey asking if it was worth the value the answer is No!!! I have been happier in a hospital No Accomodtions should have known better ther is only 1 picture of the 2 rooms styles the offer deluxe queen and deluxe queen with breakfast hahahah shame on me!!!!!!
So close to the city but the landscape and grounds really take you away to a clean and comfortable escape. Tons of conference space ideal venue for business meetings or even a wedding!
Clean. Great staff. Phenomenal breakfast buffet. Definitely go back. A little bit of a corporate feel. You can tell it was an old IBM building. Great place though.
Cleanliness of room and hotel overall was great. Room was cleaned everyday with fresh amenities. Great area and very secluded within the Rockland area. Within minutes in town very convenient for me. Nothing I didn't like.
Everything. Fantastic value! Super-8 is generally the low-end - one-star hotel. This one - Mahwah - was easily a level two-star or better; just as good as Best Western, but half the price.
3 night stay. I didn't wake up with any funny rashes, so I had that going for me, which is nice. Pretty quiet...if you like white noise (I do), the heater/air conditioner will work perfectly for you. Really all you can expect from a rate like this is a clean room, which I got. Pillows were amazing, for some reason. Mattress was pretty hard, but I was always so tired I didn't care. TV is still a tube (non flat screen), which I didn't even know you could still find, outside of a garage sale. Wifi was consistently bad, but you shouldn't expect much from a completely open network with no password. Who knows what people are doing on there. Breakfast was a joke, but again you get what you pay for. And here, you pay for cereal, toast, and Jimmy Dean. McDonalds is 10 steps away...and is actually healthier than Jimmy Dean. Then again what isn't?
Lovely grounds, staff, good breakfast, nice rooms
Excellent location for my travel schedule. Accommodating staff. Comfortable bed/pillows. Lovely golf course view. Handicapped room not requested. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Shower tiles and sink area required better cleaning/bleach. Windows very difficult to open for fresh air. Windows and frames dirty.
Great location. Looks majestic from outside. Bathroom was smelly with nauseous odor that filled room. Called maintenance, they sprayed deodorant. Left exhaust fan running all the time to prevent odor from coming back into room. Jacuzzi had chlorine and pH issues. Hopefully it was isolated instance.
The location was beautiful and convenient. The room was small, furniture old. Shower tile moldy. A/C loud and hall noises kept us awake all night. Husband got food poisoning at hotel lunch, & front desk staff showed no concern & charged me for 2 aspirin & coke. Never staying here again!
I didnt like that the elevator was broken amd that my bathroom smelled and the house keeper just came and sprayed some freshener and when I came back to the room it still smelled horrible. I wouldnt reccomend to any one.
The staff was excellent 1st put into handicapped room. Upon request they moved me into regular room, in morning I couldnt control the water temp and couldn't take a shower & couldn't turn water off. So couldnt shower before work. problem was later resolved when i returned.
Staff was very accommodating with a special request Zero
Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff was very friendly, attentive and extremely courteous. Couldn't be happier with this hotel selection.
great location / atmosphere. older and needed some tlc.
It is set in a quiet locale The bathroom wallpaper is peeling off, the party door to the adjoining room couldn't be properly locked at all, there was no refrigerator nor a microwave oven of any kind in the room, the windows were drafty, the decor wasn't modern, the chair was worn.
The decor and ambiance in this hotel is worth every penny! Quality hotel and very friendly staff!
I really love how professional and friendly the staff is. Everyone greets you with a smile... The room was extremely trendy and the beds were so comfortable... The bathroom was very contemporary and towels were extra soft .. You get a pair of new slippers and a nice robe.. There was a keurig coffee maker and a glass refrigerator.. The pool was nice, clean and warm .. I would definitely stay here again and again.. No trash can in the room. Restaurant doesn't have a great dinner menu
Paper thin walls. You hear EVERYTHING including The opening and closing of the extremely loud bathroom doors. the DJs in the downstairs club may as well have been in my bedroom. But at least I had a lovely view of the cemetery
I had a mix up with date for discounted reservation. Hotel was very gracious in giving me a room that night for discounted rate. I was very pleased that they did that for me. N/A
Looked like it might be nice.. We specifically chose the place so we could relax in the hot tub/jacuzzi. It wasn't working and in fact that and other things were still under construction. One elevator didn't work. Restaurant seemed way too expensive. Feel like we got ripped off.
Staff very helpful and polite
Very friendly and helpful cleaning staff. Rooms were clean. Only one elevator that takes you to the wrong floor frequently. Always a line at the elevator forced most people to use the stairs. This is horrible considering there's only three floors. Tried to have breakfast in the lobby with my children at 8:00 am but the lobby was full of people pounding back beers. Power went out at one point at the hotel. I've stayed many times at Hampton Inns around the country and have come to expect a certain standard. I am usually very satisfied with my stay but these issues along with others left me very disappointed. Not the worst place I've stayed but not up to par with any Hampton Inns I've stayed in.
I enjoyed the room and comfort and the bathroom was really nice. Quiet and nice place to relax and some places around to go get food and a shopping area down the street. The breakfast was great and excellent with a waffle maker and sausage and eggs etc... Overall this was a great stay. The only thing I did not care for was the bed not a fan of how it makes you sink in and the pillows were not that comfortable. Overall it was comfortable.
Many tv stations, flat screen, fridge and microwave. Very small bathroom.
The refrigerator in the room; nice breakfast; comfortable bed. Difficult to get on highway. BIG pothole at the entrance could be fixed.
we asked for an accessible room, but you did not send that message to the Comfort Inn. The desk clerk quickly scrambled to and called a guest that did not check in yet, to see if they really needed an accessible room like I did. Fortunately, the other party was willing to give up the room for us. No elevator, if we had to take a room on the 2nd floor we would not have been able to stay at this hotel
Clean,roomy,breakfast. Noisy outside.
nice rooms, clean and comfortable. flat screen TV; quite no elevator; limited food
Comfortable beds. Decent breakfast. Near a big mall and other shopping. Gym was sparse for strength training.
rooms and price very late wake up calls caused me to miss breakfast
Short distance from North Bergen Park & Ride. Then only 15 min bus ride to Port Authority\Times Square. Beats taking car into city and have it ruffed up in the parking garages. More visiters should stay in New Jersey when visiting NYC. I have stay in Fort Lee before, but too congestive there. Would be nice if all hotels would segregate large groups of children (traveling with school or sports teams) at one end of hotel away from other guests. One of our nights was horrible do to the noise. Also the next morning the breakfast area was a disater with all of them there. Could it be possible to offer a separate breakfast for large groups, so other guest are not blocked out?
good value for a hotel very near new york city. clean. lots of rorom. good breakfast.
Staff friendly, helpful. Rooms clean and well-appointed. Tricky access on/off of main road, but near to shopping facilities.
the free breakfast was quite nice! Perfect for a quick breakfast! Only the carpets...seems they may have needed some cleaning
kindfull hotel staff, good for the shopping area
Attentive, pro staff. Nice work areas inside and outside. Lots of convenient outlets for charging digital devices. Driving out of parking lot was odd, traveling around adjacent building.
This hotel was neat and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I will stay here again for sure The room had a small refrigerator but it would have been nice to also have a small microwave
I liked the nice sitting area in our room. Pretty sad attempt at breakfast.
The staff was very friendly and personable but also very professional. Each individual that I interacted with went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I travel quite a bit and have very rarely experienced such a comprehensively positive staff. The hotel lobby was open and attractive and the room was quite clean and spacious (two doubles with a sofa area). Oh yeah, good cookies for sale in the lobby! Yes, even good cookies! The only criticism is that the bathroom compartment was small. That wasn't a big deal because the toilet and tub were in the separate compartment with the sink in the large, open bedroom. Accessibility wasn't really a concern for me.
Nice spacious rooms with living area in every room. Rooms are also renovated. Good breakfast
Location was good. Toilet had pee in it that wasn't flushed when I entered the room. The walls are thin and I could hear the loud teen girl on the phone telling guys where her room was them I could hear them In the room. I had to leave the tv on and AC on to drown out the noise. Bed was hard. Coffee maker Had old coffee still in it. Not what I ecpected from "Hilton".
Location to access highway General appearance needs updating Breakfast $13
TV wasn't working. I thought they would either deduct something from my bill or give me something towards next visit. I asked at the desk when I checked out but he ignored my request.
