The Manager is an absolute delight and very helpful!!! The facility is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located in the center of Simsbury. Some wear and tear is beginning to show (e.g. edges of the doors to the rooms and bathrooms).
Nice people, quiet, convenient to our location Liked everything
Friendly staff, great nights sleep, updated bedding, quiet room, nice antique furniture, paintings. Restaurant with an excellent reputation located on the first floor Didn't get to eat at the restaurant because one my one night's stay- it wasn't opened on Sunday. Plenty of other options nearby...so not really a problem
The hotel was very peaceful and romantic. I would recommend the hotel to everyone. the history of the hotel is also very interesting. We enjoyed the relaxing experience.
The huge canopy bed in the suite was so comfy, we didn't want to wake up! The place was full of history & antiques; it was beautifully & tastefully decorated. We were warmly welcomed & esp found Julia to be an incredible hostess. We will definitely be back!! The handicapped entrance could've been better lit at nite & easier to access. Perhaps a chair could be set up along this entrance so someone using a cane/walker could sit for a moment before continuing...
Charming character. Picturesque setting. No pay per view movies or DVD player in the room. Continental breakfast was pretty minimal.
Location/historic feel/really nice front desk gentleman. Also-we found out you are dog friendly-good for you!!! Wish more hotels were. The walls are thin. You could hear everything from room to room and in the hallways. Also-just like in many, many hotels- when someone closes their door- it is very loud. Too bad someone hasn't come up with a way to silence doors when they close.
the beds were very comfortable I liked everything
For the price the room was small and shabby. The bed linens were below par and the bathroom was gross.
Staff was very friendly, coffee delicious, pool and spa nice too!
Close to where we needed to be No
Pleasant lobby and restaurant areas. Nice fireplace and comfortable sitting areas. Snacks and beverages in the lobby. Looks nice from outside. Close parking. Yes - overpriced for condition of room and overall condition of hotel. Room was very worn and needs serious updating - especially the bathroom. Verged on disgusting. Peeling wallpaper, yellow stain on floor around toilet, grout in shower tiles.
The Inn is a lovely place to stay. we enjoyed the indoor pool and chose the Inn over the 1820 B&B because the pool was there. It was lively as there was a wedding Friday. If you like hiking, kayaking, sightseeing it is all nearby. the continental breakfast is very limited. All the cereals were sugar coated. The mattresses need replacement. We had a handicap room and the bar in the bath tub is below the soap dish!!!The bath chair they provided when we called was useless.
Convenient location for dowtown. Helpful staff. Underground parking with lift to lobby. Cafe shut during middle of day.
The parking lot attendant was rude and not helpful
Beautiful clean rooms, great AC, very comfortable mattress. Cost of parking that they spring on you. They say it will be "validated" but in the end just means they'll charge you $18 at checkout.
Clean and nice space. Great staff.
Helpful,informative and kind.
The price, location (right next to the XL Center during comic con), staff was friendly, room was excellent! No breakfast included, wifi wouldn't stay connected.
Restaraunt closed too early
Helpful reception upon arrival and room was decorated very nicely Hotel was quite pricey for the facilities on offer and TV hard to control
Closeness to family for holiday visit. Thin walls between rooms.
Staff was great and we loved our room! Would definitely stay there again.
Everything. Nice staff. Nice neat hotel. Breakfast included. Very welcoming. -
the hotel is very quaint...room was comfy and the 4 poster beds were luxurious! Easy to find...convenient to Hartford...Noella Spa is a hop across the parking lot...I had been to the Noella Spa in Avon (stayed at sister hotel Avon Old Farms) and was so satisfied with the services! Only 2 complaints...room smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke and the breakfast was a little to be desired-ran out of coffee at 8:15! I would stay here again... I like Noella Salon....very clean and professional...prices were reasonable for the area The hotel is well maintained and luxurious! I had no complaints.... Rooms are def old, but clean and cared for.
Heated floors in the bathrooms Nice breakfast The neighboring water pipes created noise when in use
Athmosphere Very loud at Night And in the morning
I was not able to cancel the second night, when I needed to leave due to a Snow Storm. Kayak told me I would have needed to change the reservation before the storm came to get a refund on the second night, which was impossible.
I liked that they communicated very wedding and were very helpful planning my wedding night st the hotel. What i didnt like were the very uncomfortable beds. First night i stayed the room was nice but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I asked for a better bed in my room. They switched me to another room. Room was very nice and there was champagne for me and my new wife but again the bed was terrible. Throwing a feather topper on a 30 yr old bed thats rock hard doesnt add comfort. Please invest in new beds. Also the continental breakfast was subpar. Ive had better breakfast at mcdonalds.
Room nicely furnished. Breakfast offerings complete. Very nice lobby.
I liked the big spaces and the comfort of the bed The room smell like smoke and the neighbors were noisy.
There was no continental breakfast included and the options for breakfast took too long so I had to go somewhere else.
Clean and comfortable and quiet. It was a bit expensive. Starbucks in the lobby was great. Staff was wonderful. It was a bit expensive. Parking felt a bit unsafe.
I like nothing Everything
I was happy with the facilities at the Hilton Garden Inn, nice and clean for all the time we were there, but we only really slept there. What I was floored by, was the response of Timothy Grant, the Director of Sales, when I told him that I had forgotten my suit jacket at home and was going to a meeting... Tim actually gave me the jacket off of his back and offered it to me! This is the kind of over and above personal service that you just don't ever see! Keep hiring people like Tim, he truly cares about his guests! Nothing
Price No breakfast
Excellent service. Very nice and clean hotel. The hotel didn't have my reservation when I arrived. I called Kayak and after about 15 minutes on the phone was able to straighten things out. No apologies from kayak, which was disappointing.. But the situation at the desk was handled very well.
Staff had great attitude. It was a holiday evening and I encountered no sour pusses! Beds were so comfortable!. Will return. Ants in pool area. According to night staff, nothing available to address the problem. Annoying, but not enough to ed our swim time.
Walls are way too thin! Lost a lot of sleep because of a drunken wedding party two nights in a row! No rooms available to switch. If the hotel puts up with a crowd of people in a room like that, not the place I wa t to stay for business travel in the future. I make this trip annually and there are two other hotels right on top of it.
friendly and helpful staff; good service.
After my flight was unexpectedly canceled, I needed to find a place to stay that was near the airport and offered services like shuttle rides and had a restaurant. The Hilton Garden Inn fit the bill. My room was comfortable and reasonably priced and my dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent. I felt that the pool area didn't really warrant the title "spa", but it was still a nice area, overall. I also wish that the convenience store are had offered more than just food.
view guy smoking outside while i waited for a ride
The service at the front dexk The fitness center
I really want to compliment the staff. Every person I encountered went above and beyond to be friendly, pleasant and helpful. The hotel had everything I needed and the price was reasonable. Even the garage was well lit and easy to manage ($17 per 24 hours). I would return.
Didn't like you had to pay for parking when we were staying at the hotel anyways, also for that amount there should have been continental breakfast offered.
quiet, good parking, safe area outside the city
The staff was great and helpful. We got a free upgrade which was a nice surprise. The restaurant on site is very nice, and the food was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly. We were in the area on business and got back late to the hotel so we stopped in the bar area to grab an appetizer and drink. Excellent service. Overall great experience.
Grand entrance, beautiful staircases, vaulted ceiling in 3rd floor rooms. Nighttime lighting on the landscaping, big outdoor chess area, wooded surroundings. Always looking forward to visiting again.
I loved the history and the finishes/decor. It needed some updating in some areas. A bit rough around the edges but I could tell it was once a grand hotel.
We had a room in the annex and not the main hotel. The main hotel was very nice the annex was more like a motel...traffic, noise etc. Location of my room. I would reccomend only if you stay in the main hotel.
We had a last minute request (late check out) and they were very kind and willing to accommodate us.
this stay was due to my daughter and I taking my mom to the airport. Upon check in the front desk attendant was rude, very unfriendly. We asked what time the shuttle would come and he asked when my moms flight would leave. When we said 5, he stated arguing saying no flight leaves at that time. The lobby was so loud from the live music. Between that and the attendant arguing I wanted to just leave but I had already paid for the room online. Front desk rudeness Loud live music at 1am Bathroom needs updated Mattress not comfortable, sheets itchy
I loved the staff. they were so helpful and accommodating. The rooms where clean and nice. They had a pool, a really cold pool. Nice breakfast variety. Mattress was hard as hell. (Think sleeping on the floor) and we tried a few beds all the same. They over charged us and we had to get Kayak/Booking to fight them to fix it. No bathtubs, only showers.
Just the location The appearance, the entrance to the hotel didn't lock. The hotel is renovating so 65% of the room were left open and dark. I will not be going back to this hotel.
DAYS INN IS A VERY NICE HOTELS AND I WILL GO BACK. NICE HOTELS.
Clean fresh smelling room with comfortable bed Hall way carpet needs changing
The staff was courteous, the rooms were very clean, and the location was central to a variety of attractions. It's suited my needs and my budget extremely well. The room had a bad smell upon entering, so we were forced to use body spray to freshen it up until we could get room deodorizer from the housekeeping staff. Also, the pillows were small and hard, so I would recommend bringing your own if possible. Other than that, I had absolutely no complaints about the room, the staff, or the amenities.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, parking was convenient, and airport access was great. The free breakfast was an awesome treat.
I really enjoyed how they had a complimentary breakfast and wifi. The staff is very friendly and made checking in and out easier. They also were courteous and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay. I felt that the rooms were a little outdated and could have been a little cleaner. They were by no means dirty but I felt there was some upgrading or refreshing needed.
Accessibility to Bradley International Airport Liked the convenience and everything about the hotel.
There were guests making a lot of noise security did nothing about it.Awake all night.
The staff is uninterested in guests in my opinion. It is very clear this hotel has not been renovated yet like the other Sheratons. Perhaps it is largely a corporate clientele, given the lounge is not open on the weekends and such. Overall, if you can stay somewhere else, do so. See above
Dog friendly and FRIENDLY staff No hot tub No double beds
Had a broken coffee pot in the room. Asked for it to be replaced and it never was. Not very good service
The elevator on the left is the fastest elevator I've ever experienced in a hotel. My rate from booking.com didn't get properly transmitted to the hotel, and I had to take about half an hour to get it set straight, including calling booking.com and having them call the hotel. Not a huge problem, but kind of a hassle. :)
Staff was polite and accomodating. The other guests were very loud at 3 am but that's not Sheraton's fault
It was convienent and had free parking
The staff was so attentive and eager to please but not overbearing. They treating us with such respect and help me out when I needed it. Also saw them doing the same for all the other guests. I liked everything
Because we booked on "Bookaroom" we got charged $60.00 more. Call them directly - don't use kayak or an online
Clean, great atmosphere, and convenient amenities. Fairly quiet considering it is near the airport. Ice machine on our floor was out of order as well as one of the elevators. Shower door in our room did not seal shut all the way, resulting in water all over bathroom floor. The woman at the front desk told us to use our towel to dry it up and had new dry towels brought to us.
Loved the spacious and thoughtful layout of the rooms, the cleanliness, and the amenities.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Convenient to highway. Allows pets. Room was spacious and comfortable and had fridge and microwave. Fitness center equipment was out of order.
Every time I stay there. There's a problem Was told they would save my room for the next day they took all my stuff out of the room and threw away 30 dollars worth of food. Disgusted
This two star hotel was a good value for the price. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and location great. I slept through the breakfast so I can not speak to it and my only disappointment was a cigarette burn in the blanket. The furniture is a little dated.
The hotel was a great place to stay for the price. We found the room clean and spacious with everything one would need. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair drier, flatscreen TV and a comfy bed. The location was ok.It was right off of the highway. We didn't dislike anything. This hotel was a good yet affordable place to stay.
The 'secure back door' was never locked. Room service did not make beds (they don't offer that?!) Key cards had to be reactivated every night when we couldn't get in our rooms. Hotel clientele was very 'adult and inappropriate'. Very uncomfortable.
There was used soap and shampoo in our shower which tells me it was not cleaned and there was a cockroach in the sink
Friendly staff, rooms decent Tv kept going off and on.,
Price location breakfast
I was happy the room didn't have any bad smells. Seemed pretty clean. Cracker Barrel was just down the road. Price was right. Outside the sliding glass doors to the room there was a huge amount of cigarette butts all over the ground. Gross. Breakfast was not very impressive, coffee was awful.
Everyrhing...was clean and nice!! No
A good balance breakfast. Punctual shuttle to airport. Comfortable bed.Good shower water pressure. Booked a non smoking room, and got a non smoking room on a smoking floor. Assured by desk clerk that the room would not have a smoke smell. Wrong. A non-smoking room on a floor of smoking rooms and hallway is going to smell like tabacco smoke. While the offer was for a non-smoking room, I had no choice but to accept the reservation. However, I find it a bit deceiving not to fully explain/disclosed that a non-smoking room is on smoking floor until upon arrival. Due to this experience, I will not recommend La Quita.
Clean but light on toiletries. I did really enjoy the relaxing screensaver on the TV after a long trip. Great deal for someone just looking for a place to stay, get up and go. Seems popular with flight crews. I also liked that the hot water for tea has a separate source and is untainted by coffee. That is a rarity in the hotel breakfast bars. In fact, given a choice of hotels for another night, I came back. I hate it when the tea water tastes like coffee.
Good location, staff was friendly and helpful Room was dated. Sink had cracks, floor tiles terribly worn. Breakfast normally is decent in LaQuintas, but today waffle batter had a sour taste
Clean and comfortable
Hotel efficiently set up for the traveler. Older but well maintained. (have stayed at several other hotels in the area-- of comparable price but not of equal quality) Liked that there was an actual wall thermostat to control heat/cool, the remote had a guide button, their computer had shortcuts to easily print out boarding passes, it was clean behind the bed/ bedside tables!, ..... Re breakfast: wish the hotels would use paper plates/cups and have more wholesome wholegrain breakfast items.
Convenient shuttle to and from the airport. There were stains on the bedding. And a hotel employee was banging on my door at 6:30am and before I could even get up she used her key and started letting herself in! Luckily the latch was on and she couldn't open the door, and she finally yelled 'oops, wrong room. Sorry.' It was awful.
Great value. location
If you need to stay close to the Hartford-Bradley airport this is the place to stay. They have a goof breakfast and free transportation to and from the airport including the rental car facilities. Great value. Nothing.
The front desk employees were very helpful. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. We couldn't ask for more.
The room was pretty standard, nothing like what some of the past Courtyard hotels have been. Everything was fine, nothing special. Staff was great. What you advertise as a 'restaurant' is nothing more than a Starbuck's concession. If I'd realized that I would have not bothered with breakfast.
Clean, neat, and very responsive staff. A pleasure to stay there
