Staff was very helpful and friendly. They quickly realized the issue caused by booking through Kayak which was they identified an Enterprise 20 miles from the airport at a different price. We still had to pay higher price due to a tax difference.Cons:
Kayak listed car rental places that were not near BDL airport so the competitive pricing was misleading. The Enterprise by BDL had to re-book our car rental at a higher price. We could have paid less through Alamo. The car we got was out alignment and I noticed the yellow dash indicator.8.4 Very good

Pros:
Picked up my car at the West Hartford CT location and dropped it at the Bradley International Airport location. Both are staffed with personable, friendly and efficient people. I had to bring a car back because of an issue and had no problems getting a better car at the West Hartford location. I had filled the gas tank when I picked up the first car and the customer service person gave me credit for bringing back a car with a full tank of gas.Alamo

I wish there were a sign that indicated where it was safe to ride over the spikes. We ended up parking outside of the rental location so that we didn't ruin our car. It was also confusing which care rental location to use, because the location on Google Maps no longer exists -- it's now an Amazon location and there's no entrance to the public -- and there were two different car rental locations that listed "Payless" on their signs, so we wasted time driving around until we made some sense of the confusing issues, and we eventually picked one location to see whether it would work out, without knowing for sure that I was in the right place until I actually got inside. Two different people driving around the airport asked me where to find the Payless pickup booth when I still had no idea, so it seems like the setup is a bit confusing in general. PLEASE fix your Google Maps entry, and PLEASE update your signs to make it clear (1) where to go for Payless pickups and (2) where to drive without destroying your car's tires.4.4 Mediocre

Drop-off of rental car. When I went to drop off the rental at 330am the morning of my flight (6am), the rental location was closed. I had to call road side assistance/directions support. Turns out the location is closed until 5am and that Thrifty rentals were to be returned to the Hertz location. I had no problem with the return, but it was stressful to deal with before an early flight in a city I am not familiar with.8.0 Very good

When dropping the car off, there was only one employee behind the counter working with a couple. He asked if I was dropping off and then told me to "move the car over there." He didn't say "please" or ask nicely, simply commanded me to do it. I walked back in and he eventually told the couple he'd be back and disappeared for at least 5 minutes. A shuttle driver finally showed up and I walked outside and asked if I could drop the car off with him, explaining that the person behind the counter just disappeared. He said, "I'm just tired of doing returns." He did help but the service and the latter employee complaining about his job left much to be desired.Car rental locations in or near Simsbury
