quiet calm and relaxing in a beautiful and unusual location right on the edge of the sea with friendly helpful staff . the barking dog next door that spoilt the peace from time to time.
Hotel Sipan is located in the center of the Island. The view is unforgattable. The hotel was very quite, and personal. The breakfast was always fresh, and they offered a lot s of choice. Well, eveybody was very kind, beside one front desk person, who still needs to learn some manner. I loved my stay, but I went home with a bad taste in my mounth. Missunderstanding also happened, because couple of staff did not speak english, so my vallet did not like that!!!
Nice view over the bay (beautiful boats, sun-set, etc... ). Nice, quiet, relaxing island. We paid a reasonable price for a good and relaxing body massage - very nice! No air-conditioning. No real beach. Rooms were not really clean. Very small shower. Mini-bar missing for a couple of nights. Errors identified in the final bill (amounting to some EUR 200). This was also the case on the bills of our friend (2 other couples).
In a beautiful position, near a breat small but empty beach, in the heart of a tranquil and pretty village. The ift was not working, most rooms do not have a balcony so it is hard to dry towels and swimsuits - a problem at the beach.
Where it is, the location is goegeous. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful on the whole. The restaurant recycled unueated croissants from other guests plates. One of the staff prefered to kill bees rather than attend to guests...he put honey out to attract the bees and then killed them. He simply attracting bees to diners tables. No other place on the island hs bees execpt here!
The breakfast was lovely with so much variety The air conditioning wasn't working in my room but maybe that was me doing something wrong.
Location was exceptional / and view from our room - (also had not realised were getting half board as well so this came as a welcome surprise) - Peace , quiet , away from the hoardes - elegant / exclusive yet still very Croatian buffet could lack presentation in the evening - and wasps / bees in the morning didn't encourage to sit out and enjoy the view
The position of the hotel and the view. The gentleman on reception in evening very helpful and friendly. The bar closed very early. Lady on reception in daytime not very welcoming or forthcoming with information.
Location Location, No 1 of 5 islands and mainland we did -definitely best location ; peaceful, quiet etc. Terrace outside overlooking water brilliant; staff couldnt have been nicer and more friendly. Excellent restaurants all within 4 mins walk, and did dinner one evening in hotel amazing value and quality for 100-129 kns. each. Yatching and boating faciities ther e second to none and met some great overnighters. We left Sipan to do Lopud for 2 days- mistake- should have stayed on in Sipan Hotel -
Classie hotel lovely area very quiet Lift wasn't working
Total quietness in the neighboorhoud
Modern, space, confort, sight, service, ambiance, beach, pools, breakfast Could not find any disadvantages
Location on beach, fairly close to Dubrovnik. Lovely modern rooms and bathrooms. Good dinner buffet and breakfast Not enough sun beds by pool or on beach. No wifi in bedrooms and very slow in lobby area.
We stopped over for one night on our travels between Split and Dubrovnic. The location was perfect for us, the staff extremely helpful and the hotel quite luxurious. Whlst the room rate was rather high, the family room was very spaceous, the breakfast was plentiful and the dinner buffet was good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A beautiful hotel setting! A plus with kids: numerous restaurants besides the hotel one within walking distance. Hotel has very large beach area, outdoor comfy seats/tables for drinks/food, super indoor/outdoor pools. Our room was spectacular - 2 bedrooms, large living area, 2 bathrooms, 2 private balconies. All staff members were very pleasant and helpful! We were there in June so there weren't lots of people there which we loved. No - it was fantastic!
The dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Nice and polite English spoken waiter. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast was superb as well. We did not like that people reserved sunbeds by putting towels on them, even the evening before. Try to stop this behaviour. And, if you order a Dry Martini cocktail, the bartender should not make a Vodka Martini. That is not a Dry Martini in my opinion.
The hotel facilities are excellent, rooms comfortable and location very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel wasn't very busy at all, so the large lobby and bar area were always devoid of people and therefore atmosphere. Only 1 choice of white wine available by the glass and this was not to my taste. A pity to offer a limited wine selection in a country where good wines are available. Food on the buffet offered a good selection but often not hot enough in the evening. No body lotion provided in the room, just bath/shower liquid and shampoo. Large outdoor pool water pretty chilly, especially early morning.
Private hotel beach + surroundings: really very very nice! This is not 5* hotel!!! Nice designed rooms, but very small and uncomfortable, small bathroom with toilet (ups), internet connection does not work in the rooms, breakfast does not reflect 5* level, nobody from staff smiles... Hotel is high overpriced ... for your stay try other 5* hotel just a few minutes driving more, prices are the same, level really better!
Attentive front desk and a good breakfast compared to most in Croatia Room slightly on the small side
The hotel has a private beach which is not usual in Croatia. Also the location of the hotel is perfect, the village is really quiet, but the distance from Dubrovnik is only 30km so you can go there every evening. We had a room with a sea view, really nice. The pics of the hotel facilities really reflect the reality- really very very good hotel, the best in Croatia I have ever stayed. Nothing to say.
Staff were not very friendly.
The beautiful terrace with the breathtaking sunset in the evenings, the beach bar It's still clearly visible that it stems from the communist aera
Buffet was nice (breakfast and diner). Close to lake (10 minutes walking). Close to a bike renting and close to a scuba diving. At the lake, you can rent a canoe and go to the monastery. Bedroom was ok (simple and clean) with a fridge. Balcony not really separated from the rooms close to ours.
The hotel is adequate for what it is, a 3star hotel. It is a little tatty in places and with a little bit of work could easily be up graded. One of the members of staff on reception was very helpful in finding us a way of getting to a nearby island.
The nature is beautiful, and the hotel is located at the center of the village. The price of the room does not match fully the level of service and accomodation. The breakfast is the same every morning, with no vegetables. The toilette in our room was smelling badly.
Great location got a tiny corner room under the stairs which was rather disappointing.
Had an amazing stay at Hotel Odisej, the rooms are nice, cozy, and clean. great location a block from the national park, very relaxing and quiet. The Breakfast was the best part!
Location, staff, food!
The natur of the island Mljet.
Location was excellent. Smell of the chemical toilet. Quite expensive. Noise of the boats. Package tour tourists.
Excellent place to stay and chill out. It is probably the best location on the island with polite staff who can see the future Lousy bacon and eggs... materials were ok but the cooking and presentation uninviting.
Great location, steps away from the ferry dock and beautiful views from rooms. Helpful staff -they arranged a day kayak trip to another island. Easy going and helpful. Rooms are a bit old, but we had the attic which was kind of romantic though the furniture was old and floors squeeky. The bathroom was updated.
Villa Villina is like a dream, when you wake up, you open your eyes and you have a beautiful view on the sea
It was a really beautiful location - Lopud was truely wonderful. Very peaceful. The hotel was fabulous. Beautiful views from the terrace at breakfast; excellent apartment, right next to the pool. Great balcony for the exquisite sunsets. Very nice facilities - we enjoyed the kitchen in a cupboard idea in the apartment! Would like to visit again and would definitely recommend. Only cleaned the room every other day - for a four star hotel I was surprised. Bit slow at breakfast keeping the buffet filled.
Good location & pleasant dining terrace Run by management company & very impersonal.restaurant over priced & therefore empty at dinner time.
The owner was so lovely and welcoming!
even though lopud in july seems to be run over by day tourists spat out by the 11 o'clock ferry, one should stay there for min 1 week to indulge true lopud feeling (if one can afford it, that is). the hotel' s big atout is lopud island and its location in a noble old lopud stone house, overseeing the village' s harbour. breakfast on the big terrace over the harbour is particularly nice. traditional villa rooms and the atmosphere of a family-run house with tradition, professional and friendly staff. the price of 188.- for a double room withsingle use was too high, even considering the aforementioned pluses, high season and the fact that tiny lopud generally relies on being catered by the ferry. there are no extras (like a hotel beach, a pool, flatscreen tv, free wifi etc) that would justify the price - although you donot come to lopud for these extras;)
Excellent position just above the picturesque promenade of Lopud. Lovely design: especially the terrace with little statues, that was nicely done. Room also quite comfy, nice bathroom with touches like seashells... While the restaurant staff was pretty professional, the guys at the reception could have been more friendly and helpful. Also, the cleaning ladies tended to be loud (shouting at 7 am). Overall, however, a very good hotel with a special atmosphere and I will definitely recommend it to friends.
wonderful family with high efforts. And the breakfast was .... formidable. In the surrounding of dubrovnik my only choice
Very relaxing, family absolutely lovely and extremely helpful, fab breakfast. Steep but beautiful walk down to local quiet beach.
Roko and Elena are a sheer delight, and provide an excellent breakfast in relaxing surroundings.Several good beaches in easy reach and good access to Dubrovnic centre.
We had a very pleasant stay. Almost all foods were made at home, very nicely cooked. The owner couple were really kind. We were pleased to learn about "real " Croatia. Thank you very much indeed. We had some difficulty in finding the hotel. There was a sign, but only on the road towards Dubrovnik. It would have been helpful if there had been a sign on the opposite side of the road as well.
Lovely people. Cannot do enough for you. Breakfast excellent. It is a shame they were not running some of the other hotels we stayed at. Unfortunately a bit out in the country. Only one restaurant near. I suspect the owner would arrange food herself if pre booked. Which would be a good idea.
We stayed here for 4 nights. Roco and Elena were the best hosts you can get. They do everything to make you feel at home. Their breakfast is wonderful, and they cooked us twice a fish meal fit for a king. It was the best food we had in Craotia! It is a lovely place to stay when visiting Dubrovnik. It is some 20 miles from Dubrovnik, but that is worth it. Go there and see for yourself.
Hospitality. Tasty breakfast. Good location for visit Mljet and Dubrovnik if you travel by car.
During our stay we mostly appreciated the warm welcome of the villa owners'. Along with the good quality service and nice location of the villa, we particularly enjoyed the talks with our hosts in the evening over a nice bottle of wine and a delicious fish dinner accompanied with other croatian traditional dishes. Our reccommendation, for anyone that wishes to visit Dubrovnik: choose Villa Ro-Ela.
We had a wonderful experience! The family that owns the villa were excellent hosts and the villa itself is beautiful. Our room was very spacious and had a balcony overlooking the water. This is a great place to relax and also experience Dubrovnik, which is 30 minutes away by local bus.
Staying at Villa Ratac was an experience worth trying again. Our apartment was on the sea, literally just few steps from the sea splashing. It was a junior apartment on the ground level, we had a private terrace overlooking the islands in front which is perfect for enjoying sunsets with wine. The beach had chairs, shadows, nice for reading books. Kitchen was complete, air con, staff was polite. Biggest plus is definetely privacy, as we were completely on our own, nobody was passing our terrace. Another plus is the size, the apartment was big enough for 5 to 6 persons, so booking it for 4 persons was a good deal. Location is not central, still everything was perfect if you have a car rented here or if you have transfers booked, as the bus station is 5 minutes walking.
