When we arrived at the location of the Sixt office, the office didn't exist anymore. When we called them, they said that our reservation had been changed (no one told us that) and that we had to take a taxi for an hour to head to the airport on a different island to pick up the car. It turns out that we arrived in the capital city on a ferry and left on a ferry as well. The taxi fare back and forth to the airport (far away) would have been higher than the rental car fee. So we had to cancel the reservation. By then, all the rental cars were gone so we were left stranded on the islands for 3 days... Is that your definition of good service? Just take the time to respond and let me know. If I don't hear from you, I will assume that this is "business as usual" for you. Needless to say, in that case not only won't I use your services anymore but I will also make sure to let people know that this is your standard mode of operating through the social medias. Indeed I see it as my duty to help people not fall victims of this kind of treatment... Why do I have the impression that my message will mysteriously disappear from your records? Now... The garage at this Sixt location is just not acceptable. It's single lane, and you have to park 6 or 7 levels underground. Meaning if you have to let a car pass, you may have to reverse 6 or 7 stories back up to ground level. It's also so narrow that it's almost impossible to get your car into a spot. We witnessed sheer chaos as people tried to figure this out. There was yelling and screaming. People unable to drive manual in the garage and burning up their clutch and tires. No issues with SIXT itself. I see now that Kayak charged me for 13 days of rental when I only booked the car for 12 days. Also, even though I provided information on both drivers, SIXT was only provided the data on the secondary driver which delayed pickup and risked causing me to have additional charges. SIXT staff at Dublin airport were absolutely fantastic and did everything they could to ensure I avoided any additional charges due to Kayak’s errors.Reviewed Jul 22 2024
