Beautiful riad, great location, good food and friendly staff.
We stayed 2 nights at Dar Essalam and loved it: brand new kasbah after extensive renovation work, very well done. The rooms though a bit small are bright and airy, very comfortable with pristine bedding. Very warm, friendly welcome and delicious simple meals cooked by the owner's wife using the local produce from their allotments. There is some wine available if you want. Peaceful rural setting with lovely garden and surrounding palm grove. It is well situated to visit the Dades valley and even the Todra gorge, but you need your own transport as it is quite a way from the village and main road. The instructions given by e mail are very good and you need them the first time! It was a shame the lounge was closed for refurbishment when we stayed but otherwise a perfect stay.
The charming location of the Kasbah was complemented by its' unique character.
Very nice and helpful stuff. Very intresting design
Lovely place which really did provide a sanctuary in the desert. The room had only a curtain which separated the bathroom from the remainder of the bedroom which might not be ideal for friends sharing a room unless you're good friends (!). Very clean and well maintained. The owners could not have been more welcoming and one of them speaks pretty good English - enough to get by in any event. We had dinner there both nights - nothing fancy but good honest food, served with a smile. No alcohol. Beautiful star gazing from the balcony on a clear night. Take the map with you that they send when you book you will be lost as heck without it. Excellent value for money. I felt utterly at home here.
la cordialità dello staff e la cura dei dettagli, cucina e pulizia ci sono piaciuti moltissimo
We liked our stay in Dar Es Salam a lot. It is a beautiful newly renovated kasbah with lovely rooms and a big garden. The stuff is very very friendly, breakfast is wonderful and the homemade tagine was the best we have eaten during our whole stay in morokko. Skoura is a quiet little village and Dar Es Salam is located in the middle of the palmeraie, the perfect place for relaxing, drinking tea, listening to the birds and looking at the stars in the nights.
A nice place to stop, with nice rooms and a nice swimming pool to relax after a day's drive. Friendly staff, and the dinner was nice too.
Everything! Dar Es Salam is an amazing place to stay. Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night, but in this short period we lived in a real fairytale. The Kasbah Dar Essalam is an authentic kasbah, by the very warm-hearted owner beautifully restored with a lot of respect for the past. This hotel offers you eveything you need for the perfect holiday: stylish (basic) rooms, incredible prices, very personal treat, nice swimming pool (brand new) and last nut not least lovely location (really in the middle of the palm grove of Skoura). We strongly recommend this We made a trip of three weeks in Morocco, stayed almost every night in an other hotel, but our passage in Skoura was - by far - the most astonishing and unforgettable!!! Only one 'remark': there is no airconditioning in the rooms. Therefore, in summertime, it can be very hot in the rooms...
Lovely, comfortable kasbah with great, accomodating staff, good food, and helpful directions to things to see in the area.
