We stopped on our way to visit colleges in DE and NJ. It was very convenient and friendly. Coupons for breakfast the next morning right next door and on our way quickly.
Rocking chair porch, country furnishings, and friendly staff make this a very pleasant place to stay. This was our second stay at this hotel and we will probably stay there again. Beds are a bit hard, but we slept pretty soundly anyway.
Location staff Carpet could have been cleaned better
On Rt. 30, close to the shopping outlets. Breakfast provided. Homey atmosphere.
My family stayed 2 nights~the beds were perfect and the room was clean. The folks working there were polite and efficient and friendly~loved the pool & hot tub. The adjoining restaurant provided room service~excellent food at reasonable prices. We will be staying there again :)
was a little disappointed in breakfast from the reviews i thought it was a hot breakfast with eggs etc... They did have eggs( hard boiled) I specifically stayed there because i was looking for a good breakfast for my family everything else was great but the breakfast was not what I thought it would be
Love the decor, the coffee and juice service 24/ day and the popcorn. No fitness room, the pool area was like a sauna and we could not stay in the area for more then a couple minutes.
Outstanding value for money!! A World traveler sends.
loved the room....quilts and such gave it an Amish feel...porch with rocking chairs...very comfortable beds...slept great...will stay there every time I visit that area...staff great...very clean no dislikes
Cozy country atmosphere. Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool and hot tub was great. Sink and shower filled up and drained extremely slowly A fitness center would have been great.
Room decor Areas need updating
Clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Our stay even included breakfast. Will stay there again! Can't complain about anything.
You are able to 'smell the clean' at this Inn which is something you are able to immediately notice. This is not a chemical smell but a very comforting, clean, and refreshing scent. This Inn feels like home and has the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in when lodging on vacation. Most of what you may need or may forget when vacationing is accommodated for and the staff is very friendly. This was my second time staying at The Country Inn of Lancaster and after this second wonderful experience, just as the last, I will not stay anywhere else! The only thing I can think of to write here is that, as a country inn may have, the floors in the lobby are very slightly uneven due to a rustic-feel which may make walking through with walkers or wheelchairs momentarily uncomfortable but this is not the only entrance and I am certain that the staff can accommodate any need!
I did not have a whole lot of time due to the dog show I was attending (seminars) but the time I did have at your Inn was wonderful! I loved my room (huge), had a ball in the hot tub and shower was one that I hope to put into my home someday. The food was great and what a bargin (the ny steak), the person who was waiting on the table and bar was very nice and I enjoyed his advice regarding dinner . The young fellow(Appollo) was super great and helped me to my room and the gift shop info. He is a great person to greet people as they enter your lobby-friendly, helpful etc. I loved your gift shop-bought the Bassett for my son's vet clinic- he loved it! And I also bought the 4 pictures (cats, rabbit and chicken) and a rabbit container No
Beautiful facility. People were very professional and courteous. Bed needs more pillows. Bed was too hard for what was advertised.
i love the space in the upstairs sitting area, computer area.. i loved the window seats..
The accomodations were unique, the service exceptional.
The service was excellent as well as staff...Our son is having his wedding reception here next November...We came for a tour...It will be beautiful....Fave part was buying ornaments I adored off of your beautiful tree in lobby..Our overnight stay was fantastic...Will add the spa services on next visit
The room was comfortable and the service was good. Just thought there would more greenery and less concrete, from the picture on line. All the artifical plants and flowers.
A quiet hotel, but at the same time very convenient to close-by villages, towns like Bird-in-Hand and Amish Farms. We got a room right inside the property & so was very quiet. NA
Everything & Everybody & the room Nothing
Everything from the appearance inside and outside, the Customer Service of the employees/Owners, the cleanliness, the location, the size of the room, the comfortable atmosphere, the meals at the attached restaurant, the price, the microwave and mini-fridge...Everything! I'm not just saying this: when I return to Intercourse, PA, whether it is to visit Strasburg Railroad, Miller's Smorgasbord, Bird-In-Hand Smorgasbord, the Antique Center or anywhere even nearby, I will not stay at any other hotel other than Best Western in Intercourse. I cannot complain!
The overall design, comfortable beds, free breakfast, friendly staff Knowing where you were allowed to park, finding the main lobby - we drove passed the entire hotel a few times
we were well taken care of during the blizzard. Staff was very accommodating. Restaraunt good was very good. Wishing they would've actually opened the Restaraunt and served breakfast for those of us STUCK bc of the 32" of snow. Continental breakfast gets old fast and is unfulfilling. Also, they could've offered a discount on food and room feed to those of us stuck there. I asked. It wasn't an option. Floor creak when someone is room above you. You hear walking, showers, and toilets flushing.
Delightful bed Coffeemaker Toiletries Inconvenient outlets in room--and a lamp without a switch that only worked off the wall switch. Paper and plastic cups = downmarket
The old building has been put to a fabulous new use. The old beams, woodwork and bricks are very interesting. The toiletries and lines are great quality. We could hear our neighbors in the middle of the night. A man checking in at the same time as us asked for a government rate, that was $40 less then we paid. How much subsidizing do we have to do?
Lots of business travelers. Upper end place for town. front desk very helpful and a beautiful young lady. Bar was pretty dead . went out to a few of the local spots within walking distance.
Very nice feel of old and new combined. The hotel building is a gorgeous piece of history. It's remodeled to perfection. The neighborhood is not the best although we were able to walk safely from the hotel to downtown Lancaster. I wouldn't do the walk a second time. Hotel is located just a short drive to many amenities. I would stay here again.
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. We loved our stay and will go back. The restaurant had great food and the bakery was wonderful as well!
Clean room. Nice open feeling. Liked the historic feel to the hotel. Mattress was terrible and eliminated a 4 star rating.
The charm and atmosphere of this hotel were present from the point we first set eyes on it. The restored factory look pairs rustic/historical elements with a chic sense of modern decor. The rooms were spacious enough, but still felt cozy. Continental breakfast was great- featuring goods from the on-premesis bakery. The Cap and Cork Restaurant / bar was also a nice stop, on par with many of the major dining locations in the city. My fiance and I actually spent some time just walking though the hotel, checking out the old parts of the building, and getting a sneak peak at the ballroom / reception area (gorgeous!). We've already planned to go again! The only minor complaint was locating the hotel. It is not far from a major road, but the hotel building is part of what used to be a large factory complex. The rest of the complex was turned into offices/shops, and the hotel sits back behind them. There are also 2 entrances, one of which takes you around the back of the building, which may be confusing your first time.
It was clean and conveniently located. There was a lot of construction going on at the time which did impact our stay. No breakfast included but there was a reasonably priced restaurant on the premises and a 20% discount on it. The construction (above) and the price was high.
We were in the Pool Building, it made for perfect stay. Weather was horrid. Didn't have to go outside to the pool & hot tub. Enjoyed looking at the wind driven rain outside. Everything was perfect & it's located next to the Bird in Hand Restaurant. Nothing not to like. Centrally located to all the attractions, next to a great restaurant with wonderful food, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Room was very clean with comfy beds, nice TV. Towels by the pool, A game room & workout room
The pools were great, the restaurant was amazing, the location was perfect. I really enjoyed the tour of the Amish farmland that the hotel offered. I wanted to watch the hot air balloon go up and as soon as I opened up my door--there it was. No.
Location I didn't sleep well because of a fight in the hallway that took the hotel stuff way to long to resolve. Also I'm a platinum member and was unable to get a king room that I requested.
There for a dance convention with my daughter. The hotel was fully booked but the staff did a great job of managing a large number of guests. The elevators were a problem since everyone started and finished their workshops at the same time of day but they could not control that. You must always have your room key since elevators won't go up or down without a swipe.lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Room was fine, clean and not too small. Quiet as well.
The hotel was great. Great location. Clean. Nice staff. As nice as any Marriott we have stayed in. Restaurant was understaffed and food was not up to Marriott standards. We could have purchased better food at any of the other local restaurants within walking distance.
liked absolutely everything....will highly recommend to others
I stay here when in Lancaster. The hotel is away from the very busy area and has beautiful farmland views - peaceful and lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The staff was wonderful. The view was amazing. The room was awesome! We cannot wait to return.
If you are looking for beauty and amenities this is!
Very nice hotel that's worth the extra cost. The breakfast that is served in everyday was exceptional. Room was not ready at checkin. No problem as we were ready for dinner anyway. At checkout we were offered a comp for dinner the next time we visited.
Room view... Fresh food...grounds..
The room was clean and large. Parking lot fills with tourist traffic during the day.
Our experience at this hotel was fabulous! They gave us an upgrade, the accomodations exceeded all of our expectations, view from our room just lovely and to top it off...breakfast was way above average. I would highly recommend this hotel.
location, cleanliness, service around (Amish experience) no
The beautiful location. From your room you look out at the fields and Amish farmhouse and school. It is just so peaceful. The adult wing is so quiet; you will have a great sleep here. They have a lovely indoor pool and hot tub and hot tub. There is nothing about this Inn that I don't like.
The hotel itself is lovely and immaculate, located in a peaceful and relaxing Amish countryside setting. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the hearty, Amish style breakfast each morning and the large swimming pool. There was not one thing to dislike.
Great bedding. Quite room. Great hot tub. Good free breakfast. This is minor but while staying in adult rooms only a little inconvenient to get to room. Fine for my husband and I but anyone with walking issues might not want this room. Did not care for brand of coffee.
I actually went looking for this property because i remembered staying here with my parents 40 years ago. The place is largely the same and it was a trip down memory lane, so to speak. Strasburg is a lovely town and the Inn is quaint, although some of the fixtures are getting a little dated. Still, it is a very nice location and a very friendly staff. The view of the farmland is lovely. My wife and daughter were reminded of a Methodist Church camp we have visited before, although this is not quite that rustic. You won't get the heavenly shower or bed that high end hotels will offer, but it is clean, comfortable and cozy. The only thing that was a problem was our reservation was for two rooms with Kings and we were initially given 2 rooms with 2 doubles. They were able to move us for one of the rooms. Only a slight inconvenience. We also made the mistake of staying at our table at the restaurant (outdoor dining) way after dark. It got a little buggy. Not like a swamp, but more than we wanted, so we went inside to finish.
Central location to the places we wanted to visit. Close to highway but not on it. Friendly staff. Decent hot breakfast. The pillows were awful. Had 3 under my head and they just squish to nothing. If staying here again definitely bringing my own.
Breakfast was great, rooms clean, lots of parking. Small room, door slightly malfunction and could not exit without disturbing others when they were sleeping. Slightly pricy for a small room!
I arrived to check in, delighted to find I received a free room upgrade. The room was just fabulous, impeccably clean, the amenities, and so on. Would most definitely return. I cannot suggest anything to improve the hotel or its services.
Great Hotel, rooms are really really nice, beautiful bathrooms. Love that it had a bar, which was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere, was very pleased with the choice and would stay here again.
Very serene, excellent atmosphere. Had an unusual smell, but we quickly became accustomed to it.
enjoyed all the elevator was too far from our room making it difficult for handicapped persons
We had 3 adults staying in the room, and still had plenty of space. Room also had a small outdoor balcony which although it was cold was still nice to have. Location was further outside of Lancaster City than I wanted. It was a decent walk to get to the places that we were going.
decor : the artwork was interesting and the lighting well planned also the outdoor patio was very cozy
The room was spacious and comfortable. Sorry I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant connected to the hotel.
It was beautiful and not over the top. We were lucky enough to get upgraded from a Queen suite to a King. The room was large and comfortable. They gave you complimentary bottled water daily. Also they dropped off a rose every day. Those nice little touches make a stay that much better. I would really love to go back :) They have artwork for sale all over the hotel. I was so afraid I would accidentally bump into $24,000 artwork. Also for some reason our room did not really heat up, it was kind of chilly.
Beautiful surroundings Interesting bar Location is very convenient without being congested Room was somewhat cramped but it just added to the character of the hotel by the end.
The historic character of the building; Staff was very helpful.
Excellent restaurant; friendly staff; pleasant bar; handsome design street noise; bed not firm enough
My family and I love it here! There is no other place that we will stay when we travel to Lancaster County. Growing up as a kid, I was always so interested in the Steamboat Inn. Finally now as an adult, I can take my family here and truly enjoy the experience of this hotel. Nothing!
When we first got to the hotel we were in a rush. Unfortunately we got a set of key cards that didn't work. Then, even our replacement keys didn't work. You would think this would be a negative review. But they handled this all very. Very helpfully. The room cleaners helped us into the room and understood our time issues. Everyone in this hotel did their best and I would absolutely stay here again. Absolutely nothing
Nicely appointed. Very clean. Very friendly staff from the front desk to the Bistro/bar to the maintenance staff; everyone seemed very proud to work there. The food service/prep staff were very gracious and the young man who prepared the food was very interested in our satsifaction and opinon. Lovely room and big comfortable king size beds with great pillows. Convenient and nicely equipped work out room. Indoor pool (small) and whirlpool. Lovely courtyard with poolside-like lounge chairs and a small gazebo. Great for reading, getting a little sun or quiet time. WiFi and wired access throughout. Very little not to like. If pressed I can only say that the menu of food available at the Bistro is very limited. There are no omelettes or speciality faire available. However, given the type of hotel (business, traveler, tech-friendly), this is to be expected and they did a wonderful job with thier offerings.
The breakfast buffet was terrible. By the time you get your food to the table everything is cold. Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get scrambled eggs.
It was quiet and a good place to stay for a quick weekend get away.
Everyone was very nice and helpful during our stay. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The indoor pool was so nice. Our kids loved it. Thanks for a wonderful stay. The breakfast buffet could have had more choices. It took a while to get the special orders for breakfast.
Comfortable at a good price nothing comes to mind
This hotel is obviously very busy, but it is also very well-maintained. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Very comfortable for a business trip. Frequent soccer tournaments in the area mean excited kids roaming the halls in the evenings, and the doors to the hallways are not very sound-proof.
