Located in Sandy (Salt Lake Mountain Resorts), Alta Peruvian Lodge is steps from Alta Ski Area and a 5-minute drive from The Summit At Snowbird. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location, location, location. Great olde time ski lodge atmosphere if you're ready for it, but understand it's rustic, writ large. That said, this kind of time travel is perfect for the soul.
Cons: Wednesday night might be party night (among others) for the staff, because the Thursday morning breakfast service was awful. Cooperation and understanding that this is not a full service hotel is essential to enjoying the experience, which we did. Very much. Should have brought a hangover cure for the kitchen staff. :-)
Pros: Great staff
Pros: Meals on time. Hot tub was hot. Staff very helpful. Shuttle was on time.
Cons: At one point the shared bathroom did not have hot water in the shower. Only one instance, however,
Pros: This is a kitchy place that caters to a certain clientele. Everything is just a little off, but in a fun way, so as long as you go with the right expectations it can be a great experience. The food is very good and plentiful. Atmosphere is very casual and laid-back. The staff are all very nice and eager to please, but not professionals so aren't always the most attentive or thoughtful. The location is good being on the mountain, but you have to hike or take a shuttle to get to the lifts.
Cons: The shared bathroom thing is cute and all but not great at 2:00 am when you have to pee! Rooms are very small and could use better storage/organization.
Pros: environment architecture
Cons: dinner in community, quite a long way to walk to the lifts
Pros: Concierge, ski shop & rentals, fresh and well-prepared meals, proximity to lifts, accommodating staff, bar and activities
Cons: Room was too warm. Difficult to sleep due to heat.
Pros: The food, the staff, the beds, the bar and of course the mountain
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Pros: It's a very old school ski lodge. Lots of boardgames, puzzles, fireplaces. Fun bar. At dinner, and sometimes at breakfast, you can be seated with other guests which is actually quite fun and interesting.
Cons: Rooms are pretty small and get really hot. Important to remember to crack open the window even if it's 20 degrees outside.
Pros: Great location with a one minute shuttle to Alta’s Collins base and a five minute shuttle to Snowbird. Excellent meals. Great hot tub. The Peruvian’s bar doubles as the bar for Alta locals so you may meet some interesting people not staying at the hotel.
Cons: Noise from the next room. We were in an adjoining room so the sound travelled under the door.
Pros: It's all about location! What is so great about the Peruvian Lodge is its proximity to Alta ski area. It's great that the only thing you have to worry about while you're at the Peruvian is skiing. That is what it is all about. You come up Little Cottonwood Canyon to ski. There is no other skiing experience quite like it. Whether you are at Alta or Snowbird, it is a unique experience. Snowbird has a bit more of a "Snow Town" feel to it with a few restaurants and shops, but Alta and the Peruvian are all about Skiing! At the Peruvian you just roll out of bed in the morning and a huge breakfast is prepared for you. You come back in the afternoon and snacks are ready, drinks are readily available and the hot tub and swimming pool are waiting you. Finally, dinner is ready when you are. Most of us are in bed by 10 pm. Not overwhelming in size and conveniently located in a small footprint. Yes the food could be better, the facilities more up to date and the value more approachable, but there is no better place to stay or SKI!
Cons: Having to leave! The Lunch selections.
With a stay at The Inn at Solitude in Solitude (Salt Lake Mountain Resorts), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Solitude Mountain and Brighton Mountain Resort. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location is fantastic, with ski rental, different level restaurants across the street from the hotel. We loved the pre-ski yoga program and the Creatue Encounter program. We appreciated the valet service that cleaned the snow off our car. Borrowed movies and games from the club. Most importantly the skiing was awesome! .Excellent vegetarian options at restaurants.
Cons: Decor/bathrooms are a little dated. Ski storage area slightly awkward down some steps. But location of ski storage was otherwise great.
Cons: It’s unbelievable that in 2019 that the hotel/restaurant did not have a coffee bar or the ability to make more than drip coffee.
Pros: Friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Outdated amenities. Dated decor. Frayed and ragged bed linens.
Pros: I had been to Utah 25 times single. 80% Snowbird. The rest Canyons, Alta and Park City. The hotel is great for a family with children. Very accommodating and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The ski school at Solitude was amazing!!! So well run compared to other places I have been. Had my 5 & 6 year old girls from Florida skiing by the end of the first day! We will back unless now that Deer Valley purchased Solitude if they turn it into a crowded place.
Cons: Food was awful. My best meals were at the grill mid mountain.
Cons: Property needs some upgrading. Staff needs better training.
Pros: Loved the location and staff was awesome!! Great central spot to access lifts and the retail/restaurant spots. Room was great but it was warm and we just had to keep our balcony door cracked the whole stay. We also added a night, to the beginning of our trip via the hotel and that was flawless.
Cons: Phone in room was inoperable. Wanted to call front desk about excessive noise in room above us. Food was skeptical in St. Bernards. Hot breakfast buffet was cold and we used stairs most if the time, which comes out along the edge of the kitchen...where we saw lots of food left out uncovered, on a counter, for a lengthy time. Other guests we talked to got sick from their food after eating at St. Bernards their first night, Wednesday.
Pros: Magical village. Comfortable bed and luxury linens. Great view of the mountain.
Cons: It is possible to unintentionally lock yourself out on the balcony. You will have to call for help.
Pros: Room was fine, dated, but overall good. Bed was super comfortable, especially after a long day on the slopes. People at the front desk were terrific.
Cons: Bathroom could be updated--even a new shower curtain would be great! Refrigerator froze our food even on the lowest setting. The worst thing (yes, this is a first world problem), is that there are NEVER any towels for the hot tub!! Larger glasses in the room is a must; you need to drink a lot of water to avoid altitude sickness, and investing in some taller glasses would make this much easier.
Pros: The breakfast is great, rooms are clean, rather big and comfortable, have fridges and coffe machines. The staff is very open and willing to help. Free hot tub and warm swimming pool with an incredible view. Exit from the ski locker almost directly to the lifts.
Cons: It would be nice to have a sauna in addition to the pool, maybe for a charge, but they don't have it. The breakfast room feels a bit cold. No usb sockets in the rooms, which is a HUGE trouble if you're coming from a different part of the world and don't have an adapter.
Pros: Good food. Nice ambiance. Relaxed atmosphere. Very eager to help staff.
Cons: The carpets, etc. needed better cleaning. It seemed like the cleaning staff didn’t quite care about details.
Pros: View was fabulous; staff exceptionally real
Cons: Difficult to get from car to parking lot; shuttles & valet helped; resort layout discombobulated without street markers????
With a stay at Lodge at Snowbird in Sandy (Salt Lake Mountain Resorts), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Alta Ski Area and The Summit At Snowbird. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room size and the location are unmatched
Cons: For off season, the price is a tad high
Pros: Everything was perfect. Location couldn’t be any better, and staff was super nice and friendly
Pros: Our room was steps from the mountain, the view from the room and the hot tub we're amazing
Cons: Our room was a studio so there was no bed! Only a pull-out. That was a first.
Pros: The view is so stunning and it is very comfortable room!
Cons: The hardscape around the pool is very hot for the feet so they will need to put rubber mats down or redo the surfacing.
Pros: Great location. Beautiful views.
Cons: The room was a little dated and no microwave
Pros: Exceeded the expectations for the price! I've stayed in way more expensive rooms and not gotten this much "bang for our buck". Obviously a sofa couch bed isnt going to be luxurious, but the fireplace and view totally made up for that!!! Oh and a bonus kitchen...sheesh...outstanding! I mean we adore the Cliff Lodge but this is just as amazing.
Pros: Outdoor spa and pool was great and very popular. The location is perfect. Kitchen facilities are always a bonus.
Cons: Our room did not have a bed, just a fold out couch that was not conformable and the pillows were flat and lifeless. A boot and glove drying room is required.
Pros: Great location. Retro 1970's. Staff were friendly and the heated spa and pool at the end of a day's skiing was a fun way to relax and meet other people.
Cons: No heated boot/glove room. Ski Lockers were a pain to open. The pull out sofa was very uncomfortable as were the flat lifeless pillows. For the price I would expect more comfortable bedding.
Pros: Great location near Snowbird Center. Walking distance to the other lodges at Snowbird for variety in dining and lounges. This was a quiet accommodation, even with neighbors in rooms on each side. Our lock-off room was in great shape though dated. There was plenty of storage for multiple people for an extended stay. The bellhop dropped us off at our friend's rental condo for a night of visiting and picked us up later.
Cons: The balconies are common to the adjacent rooms, so a sense of privacy is compromised.
Pros: No breakfast. Location good.
Cons: Overpriced for the run down property. No bed in the studio, pull out sofa not disclosed. Thin worn out sofa mattress. Terrible worn out filthy blankets to sleep under. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher from previous guest. No storage room for luggage in the case of later than 11 am departure -- exists even in each single low category hotel.
This comfortable hotel can be found in Coalville. The hotel consists of 85 rooms. This is not a pet-friendly hotel.
Pros: Everything was perfect. Great location. Excellent food. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pros: Coffee, tea, and complimentary fruits and snacks available all day. It's very close to the slopes.
Cons: There isn't much to do around the hotel once the slopes close.
Pros: I liked staff quickly and smile attention
Pros: sparkling clean Lodge, great food, right there in the mountains. Makes skiing really easy with lockers for your skis and its own chair lift to get you back up to the lodge. If you're looking for a great easy ski trip with luxury accommodation this is it.
Pros: We wanted to stay on the hill, and did not expect what we received from Rustler staff. The overall service, meal quality and facility exceeded our expectations.
Cons: We have no comments on what we didn't like, there wasn't anything. Our expectations were exceeded.

Cons: internet did not work when they offered it and the pool did not open until noon there were burn marks on the counter in the kitchen and the extra bedding was dirty
Cons: Door keys would not work
Pros: The condo was perfect for my family. The only thing I missed was air conditioning but it was pretty cool up the mountain. I was able to borrow a fan from a family member. I would definitely return for another visit.
Cons: No air conditioning
