This was a great little hotel & was real good value for money. Great location for all amenities & within seconds you were on the beach. Not only did we get vouchers for use in Heidi's next door for breakfast (fab breakfast) but you could also have a continental breafast at the front desk too. The staff were excellent & we found every one of them very helpful & always cheery. Will definately go back if we visit this area in the future.
They cancelled our $72/night reservation for "renovations" and then it turned out they just wanted to charge $440 a night because there was a special event going on this weekend, and other similar hotels were charging a minimum of $300 a night. Luckily Kayak refunded my money and gave me a credit towards finding a new place because all that was left at that point would cost me at least $900 for the weekend. This hotel definitely cannot be trusted and I would strongly recommend any other place in Tahoe so that you don't have to worry about finding last minute accommodations if they decide they want to charge a higher price.
It is close to lake and also close to nevada side nothin
Clean room where everything worked.
I liked the SPA.
The location was a positive which was close to shopping, social events, casinos, and restaurants. The walk to the lake's beaches was just a few minutes. Someone repeatedly went into our hotel room over the course of our stay and once tried to access my laptop and failed leaving a security lockdown report for me to view later. On other days our items were gone through but no valuables taken. On our last day, all our Tahoe receipts and cellphone manual were stolen. Security is nonexistent so be prepared to bring a hidden camera to record the times that you are away from your room. I know it sounds like a private investigator went through our room but I was with my wife of twenty years so we had nothing to hide and if it was the maid service you're not going to pass up on cash and hundreds of dollars of jewelry lying around.
Close to beach. Close to restaurants.
Park your VEHICLE..you will not need it ..while you are staying here !!! Staying a Budget Inn on South Lake Tahoe was great! I could walk out my door and walk straight to the water within 2 minutes my feet where wet! The pool is clean and heated..for cool nights! The air works greart and the bed was comfortable for a good night sleep. I rented a bike just a minute away and rode all over, Great location in the middle of town. Fantastic coffee and sandwich shop, cvs, Rent water or ski gear, all is across the street. Italian, sushi, burgers, waffles, every type of food is wking distance. I caught the nifty 50 Trolly and went to the casinos a few times, took about 5ish minutes!
Location was excellent, very quiet in the evening with clean rooms good option for the money. You can hear street traffic in the morning not good for a light sleeper no worries if your a heavy sleeper.
Front desk staff was nice, good location, quiet, ac worked well First room smelled strongly of urine. Asked for a different room, was given one without question. That room was better, but still an odor. Everything is run down and dirty. Cobwebs in bathroom.
Location - Great! Room quality - Good! Price - Fair! Bed comfort - No too good! :(
Owner was very nice and accommodating. Fridge and micro. Larger rooms. Property is dated and needs some renovation.
Location is nice. Close to Heavenly and Safeway It says breakfast included but it was ONLY cheap donuts from Safeway! I chose this motel instead of others just because they had breakfast. Not even continental! This place must be forbidden to advertise as breakfast included.
The room was clean; the office staff was nice and courteous; air conditioning worked very good. i read previous review after i booked and was horrified. However, either the hotel changed drastically or some people don't know what a bad motel is like. The other reviews were unfair i feel. could use better lighting in the room; in room coffee would also be nice since the office did not prepare the complimentary coffee as early as i awake
Staff was super helpful and responsive at night
The staff was every friendly. The hotel was decent, it was definitely not the Marriott but we had 7people with us and during the new year all the hotels raise up the prices. The hotel was okay for a one night stay
Easy to find, helpful hotel staff, clean spacious rooms, good bang for your buck! The pool was empty :(
Stuff was very friendly. far from gondola
The location of the hotel is pretty good, internet WIFI connection is excellent. But that's it. The room was too small, the furniture is very old. The toilet didn't function properly. The towels were dirty. Breakfast even though it's included in the price and shown on their ads, in reality there is nothing you would eat or drink. When I asked about the breakfast in the morning around 8am they told me to come back in 10 minutes and turned the dirty coffee machine on. I wouldn't drink that coffee and there was nothing to eat.
After reading the reviews for this hotel I was unsure if I was going to enjoy my stay at the hacienda. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very gracious. The spa tub was very nice. Definitely worth the price. The hotel itself has a cabin type of appeal. It was a very comfortable stay.
Not worth the money Rooms outdated , no AC , mold in showers , no smoke detectors , doors don't lock properly , cramped toilet area
Room smelled like smoke. Bathroom needs remodeling.
Cheapest place in SLT. Conveniently located. Absolutely no amenities - no coffee maker in room, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner/lotion, wi-fi was not free. But definitely ok as a crash pad after skiing!
Close to lake and casinos. Great shower Sink clogged, too close to road could hear traffic passing all night Poor tv and choice of stations very limited, wifi costs extra
location, price, cleaness of the room was poor. no warm water at tap most of time
the price was fair. the smell in the room an it was to small.
Yes, but it would take more than 15 words
Good price for the South Tahoe Area and close to everything
Honestly the only thing I enjoyed was, wait no I didn't enjoy this stay at all. Worst rooms I've ever been in. Stuffing was coming out of pillows, drool stains left on a case flipped inside out, and the towel rack in the bathroom kept falling off the wall. This was by far the worst experience I have had at a motel. Everything which says a lot because most things don't bother me.
great for price--basic and clean, good beds, good location, easy to find. plenty of room, perfect for just a quick overnight trip
They gave us keys to a room that had not been cleaned from prior customers. Walls in the bathroom had nasty stuff all over them, i'm not sure what it was. The room smelled and did not look clean at all. Hotel staff was very rude. People were hanging out in front of their hotel rooms drinking and partying all night and we did not get a good nights sleep.
LocateLocation is great Everything else. Tv didn't even have an avc connection, brought my own player for nothing. Not even a little fridge and microwave? What the hell is it, 1987?!
The motel was clean and fairly quiet. I could hear traffic noise, but nothing from the adjoining rooms. For the price, the room was fine.
I would prefer to have a coffee maker in the room rather than having to go to the front desk for coffee service.
The breakfast selection was really nice with a good variety.
Convenience ;close to town. Staff helped find good restaurant Room was horribly over priced and very run down.
rooms were comfortable. price too high compared to other simillar hotels.1 mile away fr heavenly village
Clean, convenient, includes wireless internet, hbo , and goodie bags (toothpaste, tampons, Motrin), continental breakfast. Small rooms, temperature of shower is hard to control, poor towel quality.
Convenience and the pleasant and helpful staff
The front lobby personel were very helpful in answering quetions regarding the various site seeing/activities that were offered in the area. The towels for the guests were very small in size. You needed two per person just to dry off from a shower.
It was roomy, the bed was comfy and plenty of parking!
friendly staff, good location to all amenaties no
It was convenient for the lake
cost Plastic platesl/cutlery for breakfast!
- Clean - Cheap - Good Location - Microwave/refrigerator in room - My room was at the back of the parking lot and was very quiet - Could hear next-door TV through wall (bring earplugs)
For a cheap one night stay, this place was perfect. Close to everything in Tahoe, easy to get in and out. Like other reviews have mentioned, the place looks like it was last renovated in the early 80s and it isn't particularly clean, so I wouldn't recommend it if that matters to you
The room was pretty much as expected: clean, warm and featuring all the amenities listed on their website. The staff was friendly and efficient. It's located right in the center of South Lake Tahoe with easy access to plenty of local restaurants, casinos and hiking spots and is extremely convenient. Most of our destinations were within a mile of the motel. My only complaint is that some of the bath towels had light stains on them. They were obviously clean and had been washed but it was still a little off-putting considering the quality of the rest of the room.
It was cheap Staff was rude, room smelled very old, no fan just a heater, bed was not comfortable.
good enough for the money. no frills, but for staying close to skiing without breaking the bank, it gets the job done.
Nothing everything we had are 1 year old with us we checked in to the room and first they put us behind the trash can so we got in the room and opened the drawer in the room and there were needle Caps so we dident even stay in the room
The cozy room with the sana
Nothing the place was disgusting. It was zero degrees outside and our heater stopped working as well as our water. We asked for a refund and they said no because it happens when you stay in Tahoe. I'm disputing hi now but recommend finding a different place that won't treat you like an animal in the dead of winter when you wake up at 6am seeing your own breathe and shivering.
Small dirty, poor lighting no amenities tiny shower I can believe I paid $170 for a night at this room. Terrible.
The staff was polite and curteous, they accommodated my pet even though they didn't have to. The room wasn't anything special but it was nice and cozy, it had its own heater, refrigerator and microwave. The location was great, a couple blocks away from Safeway and Ihop and about 1 1/2 miles away from Heavenly. Good hotel if you're budget conscious. The carpet was damp (most likely from a problem in the foundation as there were minor lumps in the flooring under the carpet). The walls were very thin, we could hear people in the room across the hall from us talking clear as day and the room above us had loud squeaky floors in certain places but overall good little hotel for the weekend if you're on a budget.
The comfort of the bed and the location, nothing else. It is close to restaurants, grocery stores and the lake. The worst hotel I ever stayed in! Definitely overpriced for that extent of dirt, broken facilities and kindness of the staff. Leftover food and mold in the microwave and refrigerator, dirt everywhere including toilet, shower and sink. Broken shutters, so that you were able to see the room from the outside, staff tried to hide this with a lamp. In comparison, holes in the wall, no electricity outlets and very poor internet connection were the less bad factors. The stay at that hotel riuned my vacation and the staff did not even listen to me when I wanted to check-out earlier.
This is run down, dirty and out of date. They put zero $ into it. I've stayed at several motels in SLT that are not great, but this is so bad its scary. Staff look like meth heads. They overbooked so we got the room with a large built in jacuzzi spa bath tub. That was fun! But it took a long time for the water to heat up to fill it.

The hotel staff was very helpful and promptly answered all requests with a smile. This was a brief stay to play (2 games) at the Tahoe Ice Center. The property is VERY conveniently located closeby, and near the Safeway/Starbucks. I'd go back. The beds did not have a border to keep things from getting 'under the bed' When something bounced under I was frightened. No fridge.
location the staff was not friendly at all , was not helpful, was very rude
Good location. Staff person at check in was sweet and eager to please. Malfunctioning and difficult to use shower. Staff person in the morning was not personable which is the nicest way I can put it. The continental breakfast looked so stale and old (e.g. withered apples) that I didn't bother to take anything.
It was close to the beach The rooms were too small. The rooms were not ready by 3
Location. Walking distance to casinos and the beaches at Tahoe. Small room, run down overall. For the money spent ($130 a night), a very poor value for the money. I know it's high season in Tahoe, so rooms are expensive and at $130 a night, compared to rates at other motels near by, this was less expensive, but I got the feeling that because of the location, the owners here don't have to work very hard to sell out. It shows.
The only thing convenient was that it was close to Harrah's 1. The pool was empty. My kids were looking forward to a vacation with swimming and the description said it had a heated pool but the pool was empty. 2. The room was extremely hot and the fan did not work. We had to open the window that was nailed shut, so my husband had to remove the nail to open the window otherwise we were in a room that was constantly 90 degrees. 3. Two doors down from us was a group of drug dealers who live there at the lodge and they tried to sell my husband drugs.
The place is literally a block away from california nevada stateline. Very accessible to heavenly ski resort which is very nice place to go. Since its at the border of california and nevada, you can walk couple of blocks and you'll be at nevada side, which means, you can gamble. The room needs renovation. Not bad for the value but definitely could be better. There are few lodges/motels/hotels that surrounds the place itself and therefore i think makes the owner dont bother to renovate the place. Since the lodge is very close to thr lake and a block away from nevada, it is very convinient and stay from.
The staff was very friendly and it is located just down the road from the lake. Me and family had a great time staying there. My only real complaint is that the pool was hot. It needs to be cooled down. It should not feel like I am getting into a hot tub. Plus it could use a cleaning.
Affordable, good easy access location, everything within walking distance, quiet. No AC, No Fridge, No microwave
The housekeeping staff did a great job. The room was very clean. Front desk was courteous and helpful. Heater didn't work, never got above 60 in the room. Paper thin walls, not worth $157. Door leaked air a lot. "Fireplace" was a joke.
Customer service was great, very friendly, and curtitious. Beds and pillows were hard.
great location; in downtown of South Tahoe The tv only had one working station which was in Spanish. Considering this hotel is located in Lake Tahoe, which is very cold in the winter time, not thick/warm enough blankets were provided. The heater did not work at all. Makeshift wire attached...
Management was nice respectful & helpful. Location was good. Having a Refrigerator & microwave was perfect.
Easy parking My guess is that people only book this place sight unseen and rarely go back...

I only stayed one night. Great locaton, this hotel is walking distance from Harrah's casino and lots of other stuff. Its certainly not luxury but it was clean with plenty of hot water. and parking was included.
Close to Stateline. Overall the facility was definitely not maintained. I latched the deadbolt and had a very difficult time getting it off. If there had been a fire I probably would have had to go out the window. Carpet was among the top 3 dirtiest I have ever seen. No water in the pool which only lended to the overall appearance. Good place to sleep and go.
It had almost everything we needed, microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer for our ski trip. The staff is quite friendly and nice. The double room is small. The continental breakfast is only juice (mixed with water), coffee and cold donuts.
I thought the price was amazingly low for the room and the location was convenient The continental breakfast consisted of donuts only. I was disappointed.
Nothing Yes, the continental breakfast was old donuts. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the place in general needs a face lift. It just looks run down and dirty.
The continental breakfast was a few mini muffins, juice and coffee. That shouldn't even be called breakfast, it was snacks!
Location was great The room was more on the dirtier side It smelled like smoke which caused a headache No true breakfast, was just coffee and donuts
I liked that there was a fridge and a microwave. The refrigerator was was clean which was very nice. I liked how none of the colors and fabrics in the room matched, (floor, walls, curtains, comforter) it gave it a camping feeling. I really liked that. The bathroom was entirely too small. The pillows were too small/flat and the comforter had holes in it.
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and large - King Size The couple on Staff were difficult to understand and had difficulty understanding us due to language barrier. However, they were very friendly.
this hotel is just near the Heavenly village
It was easy to find. The toilet wouldn't stop running. The hot water tap in the bath couldn't be turned off once turned on. There was a large wet patch on the carpet. The staff member was very off-hand when approached with these problems.
Clean, in good repair. My conformation email listed the "Total Price" as $32. Along with a note: "Please note: additional supplements (e.g. extra bed) are not added to this total." What I wasn't told was that taxes were not included. Misleading.
Not much. We will not stay there again. The pool was closed. The manager could not speak english. The manager did not understand the billing rate. The internet price did not reflect a 10% tax nor tack on fees. Motel was noisy. The shower was very small. The continental breakfast was fast food packets.
The location and proximity to Harvey's (we went to a concert) is the only decent thing about this place. The room smelled like chemicals/disinfectant, although the room did have a mini fridge it was put it such a weird place that you had to climb on and around one side if the bed to get to it. The shower was so desperately in need of remodeling the tile literally was stained with mold. The beds were in need if new pillows and an updated blanket/bedspread. I was honestly afraid to climb in. All this for $188/night. Wow!!!
The location is great because it's one of the closest motels to the Heavenly downtown. Cheap. Dirty, broken window and furniture, no towels etc, unorganized staff, ANTS!!!!
Very comfortable beds. Room very clean. Small hotel where we never saw or heard another guest. Walkable to beach, restaurants, shops & casinos. Would highly recommend. Price was higher than I usually pay. Problem with the plumbing but management compensated us.
Very cozy room and comfy and! The Jets in the bathtub kept going off at night.
The location to the beach. No A/C. No pool. The room was far from clean. The hotel clerk had not changed his clothes since we checked in on Monday ad checked out on Wednesday. Possible bed bug bites? Whatever they are, all 4 people had bites all over.
The only thing that was great about the hotel was location. The front desk area was smelly , hotel front staff was friendly but not what I expected. Will never stay here again.
