Our location on the Columbia River is conveniently located in one of the most stunning vantage points in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, perfect for any adventure. The Columbia Gorge offers an abundance of outdoor activities, from hiking, biking and water sports, to more passive adventures such as wine tasting, craft beer sampling and scenic touring. Nearby waterfalls, trails and scenic routes are right in our backyard. Our hotel is conveniently located off Interstate-84 and Historic Highway 30, only 35 miles from Portland. Popular water sports on the Columbia River include stand up paddling, boating, and water skiing. The area is renowned for sailing, kite boarding and windsurfing, with the Gorge offering some of the best wind conditions in the country. Abundant mountain bike trails and road routes are close by, as is the paved Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail (with the Bridge of the Gods trail head a stone’s throw away). Visit the nearby Historic Marine Park (home of the Sternwheeler), the beloved Hood River Fruit Loop, or Stevenson's Bluegrass Festival for some of the region's best music. You’ll find over two dozen wineries and a dozen craft breweries in the Gorge region. Relax in one of our comfortable rooms, many of which include spectacular views of the Columbia River. A trip over the Bridge of the Gods gives you a bird's eye view of the Gorge—and puts you in a prime spot to explore the Washington side of the river. We offer complimentary full breakfasts served to order at Bridgeside restaurant next door. A sparkling indoor, heated pool and spa provide relaxation and fun. Guests can also take advantage of the exercise facilities, business center, truck and RV parking, 24-hour hot beverage bar, quaint walking paths and views of the Cascade Mountains. We look forward to hosting you. Reserve your river-view room at the Best Western Plus Columbia River Inn today.
Pros: we had to choose between coffee or orange juice -- had to pay extra for orange juice UNACCEPTABLE, when we book a room that includes breakfast. Besides, we had VERY LIMITED choices rather than have a buffet offering. No more Best Western for us, when paying over $200, we were charged for orange juice!
Cons: Breakfast - no buffet, limited choice option - after we paid for breakfast (inclusive in the rate we paid) we had to pay for orange juice (or had to forego our coffee) HOW ABSURD - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
Pros: Just a perfect stay. They have thought of everything and maintain the property to the highest standard. The arrangement they have with the restaurant next door to provide their guests with the free breakfast is so much better than what you normally get.
Pros: Loved the view. Could hardly wait to wake in the morning sit on the balcony and enjoy the activity of the Columbia River and the Bridge of the Gods. Also thoroughly enjoyed the free breakfast next door with the gorgeous view. I love to be able to share the pictures I took from the balcony, but see no way of doing so here.
Cons: Little disappointed in the beds thought we were getting 2 Queens, but were doubles. Plus the other problem traveling with 95 year old uncle who fell out of the high bed during the night and we had trouble getting him up from floor. He was quite sore in the morning. It was difficult for him getting in and out of high bed.
Pros: Views are gorgeous
Pros: I liked the comfortable beds and bedding; the awesome view; and the cleanliness of the room. Too, the included breakfast via the restaurant next door was delicious and much appreciated.
Pros: The location along the river was beautiful - The staff very friendly and accommodating. My grandchildren loved the pool which overlooked the Columbia River. The rooms were perfect and met our needs -- beds very comfortable. Peaceful and restful.
Cons: The train ran along the Columbia River, but did not seem to affect our sleep. Actually, it added charm to the view.
Pros: It was on the beautiful Columbia River
Cons: It was farther from Portland Airport than I thought it would be
Pros: Room spacious with great views over the river and Washington mountains, good beds.
Cons: Ice machine and vending machine very loud in front of our door, also providing a lot of noise during the night.
Pros: Everyone is exceptionally helpful and always pleasant. This is the 5th visit in the past year due to helping my mother who has cancer. They go out of their way to speak to us every day and make us feel like it is home. Thank you so much!
Pros: Riverside views have a beautiful view.
Cons: Sound proofing of upper floors. You could hear the overhead neighbors walking around.
Pros: Beautiful view! Kind, exceedingly competent staff
Pros: The view was outstanding, the room was nicely sized for a longer stay and the restaurant next door was convenient.
Cons: I would have liked a nicer restaurant available for a night out (not the properties fault) and some form of food delivery.
Skamania Lodge, a magnificent mountain resort nestled on 175 wooded acres, is located in the spectacular Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. The rustic yet elegant, grand mountain Lodge is located just 45 miles east of Portland, Oregon, on the Washington side of the Columbia River.
Pros: Beautiful surroundings. Lovely view. Enjoyed the well marked trails. Along and around the golf course.
Cons: The room wasn’t ready and they offered an upgrade With a view which wasn’t ready as well, charging us $120 more than the already pricey room. We chose to stay with original room. It felt geared to large groups of conference people rather than a leisurely quiet stay. Lovely dining room with mediocre food at a high price. Room walls were thin and we could hear the children next door and mom waking them up with a knock the next morning. Decided to try the yoga class in the morning- no teacher no class. Gorgeous viewing room of the water in the morning had people talking loudly on their computers doing business-might be nice to have a conference or computer area for guests to do this. Left early.
Pros: Location is beautiful. Food and drinks were pricy but delicious. Nice adult hot tub area. Wish I could have booked a spa treatment.
Cons: The room we were placed in smelled of a dog room. You could tell a dog hand been placed in the bathroom, the door and walls were damaged. The hair dryer caught my hair on fire. I submitted my concerns on their customer service link no reply.
Pros: Great place to unwind and be in nature... Where else can you learn “axe throwing!”
Pros: The staff went out of the way to be friendly. Very helpful for. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The yellow jackets outside dining.
Pros: The yard area for games and weddings was beautiful. The views were stunning. We ziplined while we were there. We would stay again.
Cons: It is a little dated. It could use some renovations in certain areas. The yard area for games and weddings was beautiful. The views were stunning. We ziplines while we were there. We would stay again.
Pros: The view from our room was beautiful, staff was kind, great food, and the trails on-site were nice to explore, too.
Cons: It wasn’t very easy to identify pedestrian trails versus golf course paths (we were scolded by an older gentleman for being on it for about 20 yards)
Cons: Had to call for toilet paper bad housekeeping
Pros: Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Beautiful location overlooking the river.
Cons: There was a wedding reception held almost directly under our window with very loud, awful music that played with throbbing base we could not drown out until 11:00pm on one of the two nights we were there. We choose this hotel to be out in a quiet, natural setting and had no idea they held weddings right next to the hotel. We also had an unpleasant situation when the breakfast hostess seated us in a far corner despite there being 5 open tables by the window. The waitress remarked that she had no idea why we were seated over there all alone when there were plenty of unoccupied tables with a nice view.
Pros: Location was easy to find, common areas were beautiful and our room was clean and well designed.
Pros: The setting in the woods was lovely and relaxing. Plenty of activities for families and older people. The meals were excellent -we had prime rib and salmon. Excellent service from curbside valet to food service. Wine tasting opportunity, too.
Cons: We had expected our room to have a king bed w/rollaway, but it had 2 double beds. The hotel was full, and we couldn't be moved, but the staff was helpful. No free breakfast, and the champaign breakfast was pricey, so we went into town to the bakery. Yum!
Pros: Everywhere it was beautiful. My family and I loved!!!
Pros: Location is one of my favs.
Cons: Got in on a Saturday afternoon at 4;15, could not check in because room was not ready. Symone at the front desk stated not ready, not our fault, not guaranteed to be ready and handled the situation terribly. She did finally give me a "complimentary" drink and appetizer coupon, but was totally unsympathetic.
When you a stay at Columbia Gorge Inn in Cascade Locks, you'll be on the riverwalk, just steps from Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and Cascade Range. Featured amenities include express check-out and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything was pretty average but the price. They did let us check in early.
Cons: Odd bathroom with toilet and shower on same floor surface
Cons: Smoke smell
Pros: Location is directly at the Columbia River and close to mount hood and multnomah falls. The room was very clean and spacious and the decoration very nice. Beds very comfortable. Microwave, coffee machine etc all present due to power outage we could not use them, we got candles and enjoyed the cloudless nightsky
Cons: Very run down. Not well maintained outside or inside.
Cons: When we arrived we were told there would not be any power from 10:00-6:00. I asked for a reduction in price and was given a moderate 5%. We were not provided with flashlights nor was there a back up generator for light. Felt like camping, but with a bed. The box springs were mended with staples.
Pros: It is located in downtown cascade locks, which puts you within walking distance of everything.
Cons: We didn’t like that the toilet and the standing shower were set up. Also I had to use my own screwdriver to tighten the screws on the door handle. The deadbolt also didn’t line up with the whole in the frame for the dead bolt. The town had shut off power but it came on after left.
Pros: The power was scheduled to be off from 10:00pm to 6:00am and they provide us with a flashlight when we asked.
Cons: No view from any room is possible so it was false advertisement. Power was scheduled to be off and we were never notified of this. The safety level of the location was not good and when the power went off it was very unsettling. Vending machine was completely out of drinks. The bathroom had a shower without any tub and just a floor drain. So when you took a shower the hole bathroom floor filled with water. It was very uncomfortable. No phone in any of the rooms and so when the power went out there was no way to get ahold of any hotel staff.
Pros: The rooms were clean and airconditioned.
Cons: There was a faint smell of nold or mildew and someone had smoked in the room recently.
Pros: No breakfast served. For its price, no matter. The place is run by a Korean family, all super eager to please (especially MOM!) Room is large, clean, quiet. One of my best traveling experiences!!!!
Cons: There's only one main street here so all types of businesses are jumbled together. Hotel sits behind a restaurant; approaching driveway is puckered with potholes; hotel needs exterior work.
Pros: Friendly people. Nice clean, quiet, comfortable room.
Cons: Slow check in with dial up card machine.
Cons: Toilet/ shower combo, no Kleenex in room, lack of internet connections,
Pros: The manager was very helpful.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was great
Located in Carson, Carson Hot Springs Resort is a 5-minute drive from Elk Ridge Golf Course and 13 minutes from Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We really liked the suite with the private spa on exterior balcony. The bathhouse soak and wraps and the forested setting
Cons: Could use a bit of an upgrade to a satellite entertainment system

Pros: Location, friendly staff and clean.
Cons: The price was a little high for a triple A discount.
Pros: Lots of channels on the TV
Cons: The bed was super saggy in the middle. Light bulbs where burnt out in every room.
Pros: The bathroom had duct tape around the floor? The shower rod was peeled back, and the T.V. kept not working. It was dirty and obviously, people living there with voitures. The continental breakfast was "pop tarts" and bagels with no cream cheese.
Cons: There was no toilet paper. The hand towel was dirty, not washed. There was 2 towels for 4 people to shower in the room. Please don't say there is a fridge in the room if it doesn't work. There office is continuely closed even during the day.
Pros: Double queen bed room was very ample and comfortable.
Cons: It would have been more comfortable if there had been a second chair offered in the room. Also, cleaning products should be reduced or non-scented for people with allergies. We had to air the room for several hours due to strong odors.
Pros: don't know how the breakfast was, another guest was ringing the bell at 7:40 a.m. because the door was still locked. We left.
Cons: Checked in around 7:30 p.m. room was not cleaned yet. Sat outside, 90 degrees while they cleaned and had maintenance come look at bathroom light. Told us the room is ready and it's hot in there and they think a/c is not working ( they were right) and also no bathroom light.
Pros: Good value for money & clean
Cons: Near the main road
Pros: The manager was good and responsive. Housekeeping was almost nonexistent. Rooms were never cleaned and only partially cleaned after our arrival
Cons: See above
Pros: Staff was great
Pros: We didn't have the breakfast. Some updating would help this location. Staff was great!
Cons: updating on outside and inside.
Pros: The shower was hit with good volume , close to town and AC was great !
Cons: No one cleaned the rooms . The rooms were dirty . Had to request basic toiletries and to empty trash can on own
Pros: Great location
Cons: Front door was difficult to open and close
Pros: The best that can be said is that the location is within walking distance of the town which is a delight. We managed two undisturbed nights sleep.
Cons: Top tips for staying - bring your own breakfast as breakfast may not be served until 830am - make your own beds - be prepared to sleep in your vehicle if you turn up late So in short the place is so bad it’s almost funny. We paid $100 per night. It’s probably worth half that.
