Pros: The room was spotless, airy and perfect for newlyweds :) Booked it for my daughter and son-in-law for their wedding night. Many thanks to Simon for his kindness in letting them stay late. Very thoughtful and a lovely apartment.

Cons: Although apartment was fairly large it could have been better equipped, only a small microwave in an awkward position, no oven. No aircon and as the window (on ground floor) opened outwards at the bottom not safe to leave it open at night, so very stuffy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful studio apartment - clean, modern and well equipped. Great shower and nice touches Inc porridge sachets and drinks in fridge. Cons: Missed porridge day 2. We told hotel we were bringing puppy with us but we were on first floor. Puppy could not go up and down stairs, and had to be taken out to toilet frequently. The Crown Inn - Stroud - Building
6
9.0 Excellent (670 reviews)
Overview Reviews
In the Cotswold village of Frampton Mansell, The Crown Inn is a 17th-century ‘cider house’ with log fires, traditional home-cooked food, locally brewed real ales and good company! The Crown Inn is a beautiful building dating from 1633. Surrounded by Gloucestershire countryside, you can enjoy excellent views across the Golden Valley. Fine, local ingredients are used to prepare The Crown Inn’s superb choice of dishes, including the popular, traditional Sunday roasts. The rooms are located in the annex. Free wireless internet is available in the public areas. Bedrooms can be converted into seminar rooms for small groups.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was lovely. Although a more up to date power shower would be a bonus.
Cons: Shower was a trickle.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect, excellent service, staff, food and drinks, rooms.
Cons: Nothing !!!!!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, good sized rooms
Cons: Poor water pressure (unable to wash my hair!), main door to hotel building did not lock, back door to lawn area always open, insects everywhere
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I found The Crown Inn was a beautiful place to stay en route from Fishguard to Bournemouth. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and obliging; and the food was delicious. The historic building was a great example of British heritage and the scenic surroundings very relaxing.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the staff friendliness are wonderful. A really quiet room a comfortable bed, so a good night's sleep. The pub-dining experience was a real pleasure too with choices from the menu which had we stayed another night (regrettably we couldn't) we would have 'adjusted' our choices to suit.
Cons: The breakfast, whilst perfectly adequate was a little 'lack-luster'. Although okay, it wasn't the resounding success I had hoped for, shall I say - for example, no homemade jams, no interesting fruit and lots of manufactured, packaged cereals, butter, jams etc.. However, my scrambled eggs were cooked well and the smoked salmon to accompany them was a generous portion. Overall though, a bit out of character for a place where top-notch food is clearly a most important part of life. The shower in the room was weak and due to the tap/faucet design difficult to alter; but I understand the management know and understand this and are 'working on it'.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, very friendly, efficient - food was delicious, location superb. Hope to definitely return at some point
Cons: there were no negatives just needed a longer stay!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything...the location is amazing
Cons: Fantastic place but only suggestion is they could be a bit more environmentally friendly with use of plastic and towels
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location amazing
Cons: Shower was a dribble , ploughman’s was poor (very poor), kitchen staff noisy at night (kept our kids awake), room could do with refurb, bed very uncomfortable. Lucky for them they have a gorgeous pub in an amazing location with friendly staff . But they shouldn’t take all that for granted
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful. Very out of the way and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg and my partner had the full English. We also had a very nice meal on the evening we arrived. Our dog was made very welcome. Room was clean and spacious. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to a family emergency and the lady on the desk was extremely helpful and refunded us for the second night. We will definitely go back another time.
Cons: The sat nav took us off down a lane about 500 yards before the actual pub location. The main lighting could do with being a bit brighter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a beautiful country pub with oodles of old world charm with beams and open firplaces but with modern bedrooms at the rear. The front terrace has great peaceful views over fields with lots of tables. We were lucky with the weather because it was a beautiful summer evening and and a great atmosphere as friends gathered to chat and enjoy a drink. Food was excellent in relation to all the pub classics and service and welcome first class. I can't fault this pub for location, comfort and service. Will be happy to make this a stop off on my way to Devon and Cornwall as not far off the M5 from the Stroud exit.
Cons: Perhaps the only niggle was a very small TV but I guess few people are going to watch the TV.
6.4 Good
Pros: Staff , location , property olde worlde
Cons: Water pressure in shower was very poor,
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful location and nice food!
6.3 Good
Pros: The olde world charm of the pub and the attached dining room provides a super atmosphere for a drink and a meal. Selection of real ales complements a varied food menu. Log fires during our autumnal visit completed the cosy feeling
Cons: The toilet facilities in the public house are wholly inadequate for the number of people that use this venue.
6.3 Good
Pros: A small intimate village pub with good food and atmosphere which included accomodation. It answered our requirements for the night
Cons: Bedrooms/ensuit facilities need a major modernisation.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff and good food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome and helpful attitude of all the staff
Cons: N/A
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Bar sold a number of real ales.
Cons: Twin beds were not as comfortable as they could have been.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, welcome food all good points
Cons: No bad points only that we couldn't stay longer
6.0 Good
Pros: Wonderful traditional pub in stunning surroundings. Even the picnic benches outside had pots of flowers on them!
Cons: Bedrooms slightly faded in places. No phone in room and no signal for mobile but hotel kind enough to let me make an essential call on their landline. Hotel had not received reservation for evening meal from Active Hotels.
6.8 Good
Pros: The pub is wonderful and the standard of food very high. The village of Frampton Mansell is a lovey setting.
Cons: There was only one bad point: the bed. It was a queen size bed, I think, and rather uncomfortable for us both. We are not exceptionally tall (5'8'' and 5'9'') - but it seemed a rather short bed!!

Pros: We found the staff very helpful, accomodating and welcoming. The rooms were clean and cosy. The dinner was very good. We would definitely recommend it.
Cons: The bed was comfortable, however, there was a lot of noise from the upstairs bedroom which made the room at night a bit uncomfortable. But otherwise, we enjoyed or stay.

A great little coffee machine and homemade cakes and fruits to welcome the guests. Great shower. Perfect place to recharge on the Cotswold Way. Even had Netflix on offer for guests. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Homely.Comfortable,clean and quiet
Cons: Painswick itself was a bit quiet
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was charming and helpful as were the staff. The only problem was that there was no lounge facility
Cons: The problem was that there was no lounge or anywhere to sit which was comfortable unless on the bed. As the wether was awful we stayed in but had to sit on the bed to read. The only chair in the room was not comfortable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very tasty. Nice homemade bread & lovely fruit salad. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Didn't like paying extra for tea & coffee and would have preferred the breakfast to be included in the price of the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quirky and very comfortable accommodation. Hosts and their staff very welcoming. Excellent breakfasts and the village is lovely.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast Perfect location Friendly staff Interesting decor

Overview Reviews
Located in Stroud, Egypt Mill Hotel is a 1-minute drive from Minchinhampton Common and 5 minutes from Thistledown Farm. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: staff very efficient and very friendly and helpful. Weather was very hot and fan in bedroom was very helpful. The hotel was original with the large millpond a great feature. Beds comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Bacon and sausages just not up to scratch. We had a chef in our group who guessed the bacon had been done in a tray in the oven. Whether or not that is true it was tough and flavourless.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous, spacious apartment. Helpful staff.
Cons: We were in a 3 bed apartment room 101, which didn't have outside space and with refuse bins for the block outside the door.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Facilities within the room were good, the shower was powerfull and plenty of hot water, food was good, staff were very friendly and chatty, rooms were clean, gardens and hotel grounds were tidy. All in all a pleasant stay.
Cons: Bed could have been a bit more comfortable ?
5.8 Okay
Pros: The original Mill Buildings forming the complex and it’s Waterside location.
Cons: It’s more a local social venue than a Hotel and really had the style and function of a Wetherspoons with Rooms than a Hotel. However it was an interesting group of buildings. The rooms were large but we had issues with the bathroom. Disappointing as it’s not cheap. The one man ‘ Maitre/ Waiter et al who worked the Breakfast room was the one bright spot - his positive, helpful cheerful approach was in contrast to the quite curt and indifferent response we had at Reception on arrival and subsequent departure.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location, food and service are all amazing. Highly recommended.
Cons: The weather!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting was lovely. The rooms welcoming.
Cons: Flies!
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Standard faire all as one would expect
Cons: Nowhere to put one's case.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice area close to shops and food places. Lovely village which is 10 mins drive to Chavenage House (Poldark House, Trenwith)
Cons: We visited in very hot weather, there was no fan or small fridge to keep water cool. Blinds let in too much light early in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything !! Really we loved everything except that we only had one week there. Beds lovely and comfortable. Lounge was really comfortable, kitchen had everything you needed except a strainer for if you want to drink loose tea but as I hate tea who cares lol. The whole apartment was beautiful and really very nicely decorated. We think the house staff must have cleaning issues as despite us trying to be idiots like they are on 4 in a bed programme about hotels etc we couldn't find a speck of dust, bins were like brand new and no marks on windows or mirrors. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and sorted a couple of issues re our booking and advising .e on other stuff I asked about.
Cons: There was no shelf or hooks to put your shower gel etc in the shower cubicle but that isn't really a problem just a small inconvenience.
Troy House - Stroud - Bedroom
9
9.8 Excellent (19 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Nestled in a walled garden Troy House offers B&B accommodation in a historical building located in Painswick.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the garden room which was lovely and adjoined the beautiful garden. We also had the pleasure of sitting in the sunshine in the garden. Breakfast was also excellent. Our hosts also stored our bicycles in their garage overnight which was really helpful.. Note to other guests - most eating establishments in Painswick are shut on a Sunday evening, so you may have to look further afield or book at table at the Falcon.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Denise and her daughter-in-law are a very professional team. Our room was very comfortable and convenient and had everything that we could need. We loved the breakfasts and the great advice that Denise provided about local dining. She very kindly did our washing for us. Denise was very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed a couple of conversations with her on a variety of subjects. We greatly enjoyed our stay in Painswick, largely thanks to Denise.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful in every way. The room and surroundings were spotless. Attention to detail, and Denise was a fabulous host.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: After walking five days in the Cotswolds, this property had everything. It was pretty, spacious, clean, beautiful decor, tea and coffee facilities, biscuits, sweets, filled mini bar fridge with honesty jar (beer, soft drinks etc), comfortable bed, excellent array of products in comfortable bathroom, gorgeous flower filled courtyard and delicious generous breakfast. Denise and Alan were perfect hosts and gave us a fabulous recommendation for dinner - and booked it for us. We had a huge hiccup with a car hire though. Alan calmly offered to drive us all the way to Birmingham to another hire place. Doesn’t get any better than that. Right in town too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, Denise was incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious
Cons: Wish we could have spent more time there!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were superb, the location stunning ! And the food and drink were first class ! Cannot fault this gem of a place, defiantly on my and my husband's top list to stay !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent. Very generous and nicely cooked.
Cons: Perhaps a slightly larger room (no. 3 was a bit tight for 2). Bathroom was ok for 1 night but could do with a facelift. Personally not keen on dogs being inside but am probably in a minority!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Love the location - great for my dog! The room was nice and it’s lovely when dogs are welcome in the bar & garden. Staff are very friendly & helpful
7.5 Good
Pros: Cooked Breakfast/ evening meals were lovely, good quality, freshly prepared. Very friendly and helpful staff Comfy bed and lovely thick towels
Cons: Limited choice at breakfast for cereal, fruit juice. Rooms on surface clean, but dusty and need a good clean in the corners! No mattress/ pillow protectors and bed not made when staying more than one night, nor room facilities freshened
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location for the event that we attended and excellent food and drink. Friendly staff.
Cons: Bed (a four-poster) was creaky to the point of waking us up when we moved in the night. Posts of the bed blocked out the TV on the wall. Room and bathroom a bit on the small side. Room faced the front of the pub and was very noisy until gone 11pm.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: Had to repair toilet seat Had to repair shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food at The Old Lodge is quite simply exceptional. My dinner ranked in my top 5 meals of all time. I was truly bowled over by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. 5 stars.
Cons: The only possible criticism I could make is that if you wanted to get an early night and you don't sleep well you would struggle, as you're just above the pub garden, but if that doesn't bother you... hurrah!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was very good, the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
10.0 Excellent

The staff are really friendly, the food is really good and its dog friendly. The bedrooms are clean and well presented. Nice comfy bed, always sleep well. Excellent value for money and the breakfast is a must!
Cons: Can’t fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful country setting - cows in fields right outside roaming free - donkey and horses roaming around - lovely relaxed place - on golf course - really worth a visit.
Cons: Not a huge choice at breakfast but the cooked breakfast made it worth while
Falcon Inn - Stroud
11
8.8 Excellent (354 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and bar. Excellent breakfast - nice size portion, not too huge - and they are not mean. Lovely coffee ! Helpful staff about late night taxi bookings.
Cons: The shelf above the basin in the bathroom was too low and there was danger when 'spitting out' when brushing teeth, of hitting head on glass shelf. The shower above bath was very tired and not good mixer taps.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the centre of Painswick, staff were excellent, nice breakfast
Cons: If I was being picky, the bathroom was a bit dated and shower didn’t work too well.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: A little overpriced
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well run establishment, mostly thanks to the excellent lady who seems to run things : she is friendly but not intrusive, calm when things are busy and efficient at all times. We stayed for two nights and ate in the hotel both evenings : good choice of food with interesting specials. Pleasant dining areas and outside space for a drink...we were there during a very hot spell and it was nice to sit outside. Good breakfast too...straightforward but with good quality ingredients. We went to another pub in the village for a drink but soon returned ‘home’.....Falcon is better than the opposition!
Cons: The hotel is on a main road and there is traffic noise in the rooms at the front. This didn’t bother us but it could bother you.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Staff very friendly, Food and wine lovely, we got there later than expected and they were happy to reserve us a table in the restaurant, lovely evening away with my sister!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A classic pub in a quaint village that offered a clean, comfortable bed; an interesting menu and good dinner at a nice table reserved for us; charming touches; and a warm welcome. Our room upstairs from the pub was quiet, and the price was right, too.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place to stay, lovely people, good food and really nice feel about the place. It's the social centre of this quaint English town of Painswick. The beds are soooo comfortable, you'll Zzzzzzzz the night away, waking rested and refreshed.
Cons: What not too like??? Happy all around really. Wireless may be a little sticky at times but not really an inconvenience.

Cons: Liked it all.

6.8 Good
Pros: Location fantastic. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Cons: Very surprised to find when we arrived that we were to pay an additional £20 per night for our dog, not explained on booking.com website (which I feel is extortionate, I do not pay this much for someone to look after her!) I was informed that I was to stay in a room that was for guests with dogs. The room was tatty and it smelt. The towels were of poor quality the bathroom definitely needs updating which is what I also thought when I stayed 3 years ago. The sheet on the bed had small holes in it, the glasses for the room for bedside use minute and the mugs impossible to hold by the handle. The temperature was 30 degrees with a radiator on in the corridor and no fans provided. (enquired about the radiator and was informed it was connected to the hot water!) Not sure what the £20 was for, it did not seem proportinate for what was offered.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms very small and you can hear people moving around in the room above you, accept that this may be due to the age of the building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ambience. Helpful staff comfortable bed, although a thinner duvet on hot summer nights would have been a bonus.
Cons: At the age of 86 I would have been helped by continuous handrails on the stairs. Apart from that it was excellent.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had an upgraded room for ourselves , the other 2 couples had much smaller rooms and one was on the third floor , which wasn't ideal , but they managed . The staff were brilliant , and very welcoming . Breakfast was good .Plenty of things to keep you occupied eg. Table tennis , a bean bag game , table football , connect 4 ,
Cons: would have been good to have rooms on lower floors for the other 2 couples .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building full of character but all the mod cons...clean and tidy great staff....quiet at night...no rabble ...outside bar in the sun was great...short of a few seats though..! lovely place..
Cons: nothing...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old coaching inn with great grounds and lots of interesting areas and quirks. Nice outdoor areas to sit. We were at a wedding and was great in the good weather (but space for the bigger reception would have been very cramped if it had rained.) Wedding barbecue food was great (but not very consistently refreshed).
Cons: Cooked breakfast was a bit skimpy and service was not great. Toilet in the bathroom was so crushed in you had to cross your arms to sit on it. Not optimum but probably varies per room. Folk travelling back to stay elsewhere had great difficulty in getting taxis back from the venue. Seems to be an issue with the location. Suggest booking transport in advance or designating a driver.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, freshly cooked and a lot of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a generous size and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Cons: We should have preorganised a taxi to the wedding we were heading to as we couldn't get one on the day - but this was in no way the fault of the hotel. They tried their best!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Excellent choice for breakfast. Friendly attentive staff. Nice outside area. Full of character.
Cons: Our bathroom was internal therefore no natural light. The bathroom my son was given had clear glass so everytime you used the loo you had to put the blind down , seeing as it overlooked the garden where everyone was sitting. Just a sheer privacy blind would have been nice especially as we had one in our bedroom where nobody could really see in .

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean light and airy room with character and modern decor. Very convenient to be right above the restaurant which we highly recommend. Parking is free and very convenient. Excellent coffee in the room. Even fresh milk and provided soy milk on request too. Breakfast was great and they went the extra mile to accommodate for our food intolerances and still make a delicious feast for us.
Cons: Bit of a smell of cooking fat when climbing the outside stairs to the room. However not an issue when inside.
7.5 Good
Pros: Welcoming staff. Good food and drink
Cons: Room too hot. One night was very noisy from pub opposite. We could hear people walking about one night from the upstairs room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The self check in process was simple, and all the little touches in the room were great. The location was perfect, and parking in the area is not a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful to have three chairs in the room, lovely and warm, great view from the window, very comfortable bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 1 night as we had a wedding nearby. We requested an earlier check in and they were able to accommodate this which was really handy! Friendly staff who helped arrange a taxi for us. We stayed in the loft suite which was beautiful, gorgeous decor and spacious - loved the bathroom! Monday and Tuesday their restaurant is shut therefore they arranged a small breakfast in the room for us. Overall a lovely stay and we’ll definitely return one day for a longer visit.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our suite was very spacious and comfortable with a nice garden view. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to some nice places
Cons: The bed room was clean but no view as it was at the back of the hotel! I understand that we had our dog with us but that should not mean that we should be given a back bedroom as we are charged extra for a dog only the second time we have been given a lesser room
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Only the breakfast.
Cons: Very SMALL room for a very high rate. The double bed was very small -120 cm - and the matras was very basic. Very small old bathroom/lavatory. The room smelded strange. The service at the reception was bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovey and had an amazing view. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dog friendly which was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent and staff very warm and friendly
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful and willing staff. Great views. Nice beer garden.
Cons: Breakfast sadly, was poor. I say sadly because it was not for the want of effort from the hard working young staff, who were excellent. The whole hotel seemed to be run by young willing but not doubt low paid staff. Unfortunately whilst they could manage front of house and domestic duties with friendly, helpful exuberance, breakfast required that their parents to had showed them how to do basic cooking! I have stayed at the Amberley Inn before and had an excellent breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired but overall for the price paid it is reasonable value. The views and postion are great. If I need to stay in the area again I suspect I would be happy to return but in hopes of a more professionally cooked breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, location was excellent!
Cons: The bed was very soft so we both woke up with bad backs but that's probably just our age!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: lovely room on suide of village pub. perfect for us, as staying after a nearby party.
6.8 Good
Cons: We chose the property because of the fact that knowing we would have been travelling several hours before arriving, there was a restaurant and on the website it advertised the menu. When we arrived, we were told the chef had been sacked and the restaurant closed. So we had to get back in the car and find somewhere to eat. Had we known about this we would have booked elsewhere. Very disappointing.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Kettle and teabags provided.
Cons: Website shows a goodlooking menu but nothing at all to eat at the Inn. A quiet residential area on the edge of town so no option but to drive back into town. We had been told that breakfast could be had at a nearby cafe but when we were pointed down a deserted road, we decided best to go into town. Comfortable mattress but small double bed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Spotless room and comfy bed
Cons: No food being served
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was quiet and peaceful, there was a nearby field to walk the dog and a nearby children’s play area too. The view from the beer garden is also amazing. The property was also dog friendly which was our main reason for booking this property
Cons: The only negative was there is currently no food available in the pub as there is no chef so you have to go elsewhere for food. There is a nearby local village shop which is also a small cafe and there are things like McDonald’s within a short drive so there are options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location And very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ken and FiFi are such excellent people! They were kind, thoughtful, and kept the Pimms flowing!
Cons: Ken is a super nice man. He drove me into town to get food and helped me make connections that needed fixing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was lovely and comfortable. Slept like a log. Brilliant view from back of premises. Handy for stopping point on tour of area.
Cons: Thought there would be food but missing chef. Not to much of a problem as plenty of eateries in the area.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast.
Cons: Could do with a deep cleaning and a freshening up with some paint.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Gardens
Cons: The staff , didn’t listen , I asked for my tea to be served with the breakfast it wasn’t it came after breakfast finished
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice surroundings, garden bar and restaurant . Parking easy and plenty of spaces. Staff friendly, good food, nice room.
Cons: We hand a ground floor room , but noise from people walking around above was a bit loud, squeaky floor boards. 2ash basin didn't hold water so difficult to wash easily. Although shower was good. Arrived back from a day out and found bed wasn't made and bins not emptied and towels not changed.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The hotel was a beautiful old building with lovely gardens in the middle of the country. The breakfast was very tasty.
Cons: The room was dirty, dust everywhere, duvet and pillows covered in stains. Stains on bedroom floor with a foul smell of vomit. Bed not comfortable. Room tired , needs a complete overhaul and update. Very over priced fir what you got!
5.5 Okay
Cons: That I was overcharged by 65 pounds. When I got there they took 130 pounds out of my account. Then the young boy told me that I still had to pay for the second room and charged me an extra 65 pounds. On checking I should of only been charged 130 pounds only for both rooms. So I have been overcharged by 65 pounds not happy Jan.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Good location (except our room was on a 60 mph road). It looks FABULOUS. (I recommend you pause to take a photo and keep going!)
Cons: The shower didn't work (we had a sponge bath)! The TV didn't work (but eventually we got it going). The Wi-Fi was useless (didn't work at all 90% of the time. There was not air-condition (of course) - but it was the hottest weather in England's history. We only had one tiny window (not much bigger than a shoe-box. The staff (lovely young girls) did their best but they desperately need training. When dining outside (to avoid the oppressive heat) the waitress demanded our credit card to be kept as security (although dinner was being charged to our room).
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast good, but very slow service, one slice toast each. Could be much better! Dinner first class, food, choice and service
Cons: Bathroom maintenance
6.5 Good
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast was nice
Cons: Our room was very noisy due to traffic . Not a great night sleeo.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff were the best part of this stay - especially enjoyed the affable barmen's banter, but the food and the accommodations were also quite comfortable and cozy. Loved the country modern style.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, great food, friendly staff, very comfortable.
Cons: The 6.45 wake up from the kegs being delivered/removed!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food was fabulous, good menu better than usual pub fare. Room clean and well presented. Provided a good nights sleep. Accommodated an additional guest for dinner.

Pros: Absolutely brilliant
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely atmosphere..very peaceful...friendly staff..will be back !!
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful building, room was very nice.
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing, lighting in room was terrible, couldn’t get WiFi in room, hotel was much smaller than portrayed in pictures, half of it being residential. Restaurant was tiny, had to keep ringing bell to get staff. Extractor fan in bathroom did not work, mirror was constantly stramed up. Outdoor space by restaurant wasn’t very nice. Extra £50 for checking in before 4pm and leaving after 10.30am which we weren’t told until after room was booked.
7.1 Good
Pros: What we did like: - size of the room, - location, - tasty breakfast, - wifi, parking, - good night sleep.
Cons: What we didn't like: - cleanness wasn't the highest, - attention to decor details, - damaged furniture, - breakfast portions, - maintenance of locks, shower heards, etc.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was fine if a little odd in its layout. It was comfortable although the bathroom was very small. Lovely towels. The building was beautiful and the grounds well kept. The cooked breakfast was good but the bread was nothing special and the jams were in portion packs, a big minus as far as I'm concerned. Good coffee, not so good cereals: no meusli. Nice touch to be offered a glass of bubbly on arrival but not our cup of tea, as it were.
Cons: One problem with this B&B was there seemed to be no houskeeping. One day our room wasn't made up when we returned. There was no information pack in the room with details of the history of the house, the times of breakfast and other useful information. We really didn't like being e-mailled to say we'd be charged £25 to check in and out outside 10.30 -- 16.00. It's not the way to treat guests. And the feeling that there was no-one there much of the time made the place feel rather empty and eerie.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic Manor House exactly what we needed for a couples trip away! Rooms were luxurious and unique, no room is the same and you can pick one to perfectly match your needs. Full facilities and breakfast and dinner both incredible.
Cons: Can honestly find no fault about the property
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the King Charles suite, it was extremely luxurious. The grounds were beautiful. The room was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was delicious, service was slightly slow and items kept running out but there was only one waiter on a Wednesday morning and they were unusually fully booked so it is understandable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, amazing grounds and lovely room - staff were really friendly and helpful and felt it was incredible value for money! A big thanks from us both
Cons: I can’t fault the property at all
6.3 Good
Pros: ‘Characterful’ or ‘quirky’, as you prefer.
Cons: Two of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The third much less so. The internal decor is rather eccentric (and tired) in places ... and whilst the value was just about OK at a discounted rate (and the setting is great for Painswick), at the standard price they are asking it was all a bit thin on additional (working) details. The breakfast was also very average.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful House and Garden in a stunning location. Everything was lovely but we felt things were just starting to look a little tired and that a bit of general routine maintenance and cleaning around the house would not go amiss. Its the little things that can make the difference from being a great place to a fantastic place.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was absolutely incredible, some of the nicest people. Cooked breakfast and freshly cut fruit was the perfect way to stay the day. Balcony off the one double room had a lovely view and comfortable deck furniture. Great way to spend the time after a long hike.
Cons: Skylight in the bedroom could use a shade over it. Beds were soft for our liking, but that's a personal preference.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet room in a small family-run business. Only slight problem is that my bedroom did not have an en-suite bathroom (the other two guest rooms do) but, on the plus side, the bathroom in the corridor was for my use only so I did not have to share.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very welcoming. Great stay.
Cons: No complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely breakfast and a smashing room with a lovely view. Superb.
Cons: That we had to leave!

Pros: Lovely welcome, comfy beds, tasty breakfast.
Cons: Very small shower, hardly any hanging space, limited choice of hot drinks (would’ve liked Earl Grey teabags).

Pros: It was a great base for a wedding in the village, my balcony room had a lovely view and the location was fantastic
Cons: Nothing!

Cons: There could be a clearer sign to Tibbiwell Lodge B&B.

Pros: Breakfast was very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Telephone messages could have been more helpful - e.g. take name of caller accurately, plus phone number of caller.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff. Very comfortable beds.
Cons: Extremely hot although fans were placed in the rooms and were great. Distractor fan unit in bathroom not working. Shower not very powerful.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything was excellent exc
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast waitress was very helpful as Saturday time was running out and they made a Bacon Sandwich and for me a Vegetarian Sausage Sandwich to 'Go' also filled our flask with hot and very cold water (Fence Judging at Gatcombe Horse Trials). Sunday enjoyed a good cooked breakfast (Scambled Egg and delicious mushrooms on toast), with a good selection of Cereals, fresh juice, fruits and Yogurts. We were given a new freestanding oscillating fan to use in the bedroom with kept the temperature regulated. Pleasantly suprised how quiet the room was and achieved two good night's sleep for a town location.
Cons: I was not keen on the Vegetarian Sausage used.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds comfy
6.8 Good
Pros: Room and bed fine. Check in speedy and efficient
Cons: Breakfast awful. Service poor
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly
Cons: Very loud over night. Doors banging. Live music under the room! Couldn't hear yourselves talk let alone sleep! Cracked tiles in the bathroom. Bathroom needs updating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean & comfy
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was tasty. The room was comfortable and we were pleased to have a fan as the weather was very warm.
Cons: There was no internet connection in our room (on the second floor) which was disappointing. And the (very limited) parking is on a first come, first served basis; if you can't find a space you have to park in a public car park round the corner where the ticket runs out at midnight.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The check in lady (I've forgotten her name) was very helpful in helping finding car parking in the car park. She came out and showed us where to park. Her directions to our room was perfect to. It was an ideal overnight stop with my husband, who was feeling poorly. The comfy bed was a welcome relief with the cooler fan.
Cons: Absolutely nothing, rate was perfect for the style of the hotel.
