Pros: A clean, comfortable, roomy inn with complementry breakfast. Great room and bed. Located in a unique area of Duluth with a view of ship traffic. Walking distance to multiple restaurants and waterfront attractions. Would seek out a reservation there in the future.
Pros: The staff gave me royal treatment. From check in to check out. I didnt like my room, and they gave me the one I wanted and did so smiling. They are gracious and very hospitable. These people are not just going through the motions.
Cons: That I had to leave.
Pros: Perfect weekend away with my husband and toddler. The rooms are clean and spacious. Loved the balcony, we watch the ships pull in and out my son loved this. breakfast was a good assortment to choose from
nice to have a balcony
the staff were very nice and efficient too
the room had nice decor, and hallways had great old pictures of the boathouse and area
the whole hotel was very clean
a lounge/restaurant would have been nice, they had a small bar that only served a few types of beer.
Anti smoking but that is the City of Duluth, the property is small so you dont have to go far to smoke off property
Pros: This hotel is tucked about 6 blocks from Canal Park. Easy walking to shops and restaurants. Super clean and very nice hotel. We stayed at the Harbor Suit - awesome views from all windows and large patio to watch the boats. Our family of 4 was wowed!

Pros: We had a pleasant view of the harbor and enjoyed all of the amenities like the free hot breakfast, free internet, lounge area, free parking etc. pool looked inviting. Place was clean and staff were friendly. I would recommend this place.
Cons: Beds were too soft.
Pros: Staff Kate was nice. She did her best job to fix the mistakes the other staff didn't do. The hotel is nice but in a odd area looking out at a big boat yard and a few run down houses.
Cons: When confirming my stay the staff didn't do anything they said. We got stuck with a room looking at a big blue roof. They did give us another room which was made for a wheelchair person so the bathroom shower had no tub so when taking a shower the water ran all over. This is an $90 to $100 hotel tops anything over that your wasting money sorry to say.
Pros: Very nice. Relaxing, and a nice walk to Canal Park

Pros: friendly staff at reception desk, clean hotel, spacious room with a kitchen area and lots of work space, laid out very well. Nicely decorated, very clean.
Loved our stay here.

Pros: Good value for the money. Large rooms. Very clean. Excellent free breakfast.
Pros: Size of room, comfy bed, good breakfast

Pros: Spacious room with two queen beds. Great view of Lake Superior. Walking distance to multiple restaurants and attractions.
Pros: We spent two days with the fireplace and in-room whirlpool. Cold and
cloudy, but the balcony still afforded a wonderful view of Superior.
The staff was extremely helpful and down right sweet. And that's always a plus!
Cons: That we could not stay longer.
Cons: The keys didn't work well. Otherwise everything else was good.
Pros: Kids like pool and the morning breakfast. Great location, walking distance from many places.
Cons: Bed could be more comfortable
Pros: Location is fabulous
Pros: Location!! Happy hour!
Cons: They advertise that each room is a suite which is false. Our room was smaller than a standard hotel room and had no separate room The hotel staff member was not very accommodating. We switched hotels after the first night bc we have small children and need a separate space.

Pros: Great place to stay while visiting Duluth. Further out from the city but not to far. Newer facility, with good free breakfast and hospitality nites.
Pros: Most everything
Pros: I liked how clean and neat things looked. It still looks new. The decor is modern and the breakfast was pretty good. We were checked in by a nice woman who asked us how the room looked when we came back down.
Cons: I really was getting irritated the next morning (Sunday) how loud the cleaning staff was. The girls hanging around on my floor just couldn't wait for us to leave so they could clean our room. They made that obvious by running out to check every time my door opened. Then they would shout to another staff, "nope not yet"! It made me feel unwelcome and this was well before 11 AM. I had my 3 year old with and every time I'd go down the hall I'd hear them swear or listening to loud rap. Just made the staff seem kind of low quality.
Pros: This was our first trip with our dog. The staff was great...very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. It was clean and quiet.

Pros: While we were in the lobby, one of the owners gave us a friendly hello and we got to share about our time in the hotel and learned a little about the hotel's history. It was a great pleasure to get to meet the owner while looking out such a beautiful view. Highly recommended!!!
Pros: Right on the river, super clean, all the amenities.
Pros: The room was very nice. The location was within walking distance of every thing I wanted. The view was awesome. I enjoyed the in room hot tub and the balcony was relaxing. Overall I was very impressed and I am confident I will return.
Cons: The bed was only average.
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, acommodating staff and what a location!
Situated on the bay, South Pier Inn is a great choice for a stay in Duluth. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 6:30 AM and 10 AM. Rooms offer balconies, LCD TVs, and DVD players.
Pros: The free bike rentals were very useful, the free kayaking was fun. The location is great, nearby lots of good restaurants and walking/biking distance from canal park. Room and staff were wonderful, and you can't beat free Smores by the firepits outside! Great for a couple, or for friends.
Cons: The air coming from the a.c. unit in our room smelled very sour, we didn't notice this until we woke up the next morning and could smell it in the air, easily traced back to the a.c.. I also wish that the kayaking wasn't limited to the small slip in front of the resort. My only other complaint was all the drunks who were hanging around the fire pits and airing out their dirty laundry, but that wasn't the resort's fault.
Pros: The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with friendly smiles. The staff was superb. The location is amazing with spectacular views. They offer many things for guest to do such as kayaking, taking peddle bikes around the town, s'more kits by a fire at night, and all included in your stay. My new favorite spot to stay in Duluth.
Pros: The location was perfect and the hotel was fantastic!
Pier B Resort is a great choice for a stay in Duluth. You can splash around at the indoor pool, grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. A fitness center and a spa tub are other highlights, and all rooms offer flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: Clean. Close to Duluth. Quiet. Good size room. Nice kitchenette.
Cons: Second comfy chair would be nice.
Pros: The room, View, clean room.
Cons: Breakfast could have a few more options.
Pros: Our room had a gas fireplace, a fabulous jacuzzi tub, comfy bed and linen, soft towels, a balcony that had a lake view and quite a bit of privacy. Close enough to downtown and canal park via the lakewalk trail (about 15 min walk to Fitger's plaza and 20 to canal park) and a 5 min bike ride, but out of the busy hustle and bustle of downtown. It was a fabulous weekend! Would definitely go back!
Cons: The breakfast was really mediocre. Not a deal breaker at all tho. Try Duluth Grill in west Duluth. Amazing, local sourced food with a garden in the parking lot!!!
When visiting Duluth, Beacon Pointe Resort is a great choice to consider. You can go for a morning swim at the indoor pool and visit the fitness center for a workout. A spa tub and a sauna are offered, and rooms have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
A great choice for a stay in Duluth, Fitger's Inn features a free airport shuttle and a nightclub. Guests indulge in spa services, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. A bar/lounge and a 24-hour fitness center are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: Breakfast is better than most. Good pool & hot tub.
Hockey teams need to supervise the little ones as they were rampant & disruptive while parents were more interested in drinking to be bothered. Staff had to struggle them more than once.

Cons: I didn't like that there wasn't any room service.
Pros: Facilities were clean and comfortable and the location was convenient.
Cons: There was renovation going on so there wasn't a full breakfast menu - missed the normally great breakfast.

Pool area features waterslide, children's pool with mushroom waterfall and slide, and whirlpool. Meeting room can accommodate up to 100. Guest laundry on-site. Accessible rooms available. Pros: The interior room was very spacious and included a kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator. The only time I missed having a window was waking up in the morning to darkness. Other than that, I never thought about it. The range hood fan was perfect for some white noise while sleeping. The room felt very private, and the location was ideal. Also included free parking.
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: The staff were rude. The hotel is dated and dingy. It's inconvenient in regards to parking not only the location of the lots but the fact you have to place a parking slip on your dash and provide the hotel with your license plate and car info. A little redundant to save time for their staff not their customers. The staff was lazy and entitled especially the day manager. Hotel is very dark and features colors such as hunter green. It has an odor and generally is not clean and overpriced. But the worst part is the staff.
Pros: Always quality. Very comfortable.
Cons: No meat w breakfast. Timberlodge was closed for the season.
Pros: The convenience of Canal Park the hotel is close to everything.
Cons: Since the Hotel was remodeled from a warehouse all interior suites are high ceiling dungeons. The rooms had the decorating touch of some of the former warehouse workers who then sold there household furniture to add to the ambience. The exterior of the building was only missing the touch of a couple of drunks by the front door. To be fair it was twenty below wind-chill that day. So in the fall they are probably there. The walk across a busy street with luggage did add to my excitement while I stayed there. Oh I almost forgot the breakfast seemed like it was sent over from a near by restaurant there yesterday left overs.
Pros: Great staff; Location superb - closest hotel to Convention Center.
I loved the warehouse-reftrofit character of my room. I could even open my window to hear the sounds of the harbor. Loved the place.
Cons: Cleaning supplies left a "minty-grapefruit-petro" smell that was noticeable upon arrival.
Pros: the price compared to every other property on the canal.
Cons: The coffee was Luthern Church weak, I could see the bottom of the cup. It was a little weird having a room with no windows, but ok since hardly ever in the room. The layout was a bit odd, couldn't watch TV from bed, or couch for that matter. Toilet was incredibly short, low to the ground.

A kitchenette includes a full size refrigerator two-burner stove top, microwave, dishwasher, cooking utensils, glassware and dishes.
Pros: There were 2 dogs that hung around the lobby area. It was very welcoming and made us feel at home! The breakfast was simple but perfect. The staff was warm hearted and we will be back for any future stays
Pros: The location would have been nice had we not woken up to hear construction. It was just beside a train track and walking trail, and plenty of greenery. The mini fridge was also nice, as well as the channel availability.
Cons: The bathroom was very small; no sink space, one person could not fit in the shower without bumping the walls, and there wasn't any lighting in the shower which made it very dark with the curtain closed.
Pros: I liked the price, felt safe, and friendly staff!
Cons: The whirlpool is tiny and you can hear your neighbors like they're in the room with you!
Pros: The shower was very good! It almost functioned as a massage shower.
High quality absorbent towels
Cons: Whatever cleaning agents were used on the rug left a rather harsh chemical odor in the room that irritated my throat.
The television remote could not be used to power the set or adjust the volume.
The Willard Munger Inn allows you more time for skiing with ski-in/ski-out access. Guests have more money for fun in the snow with free perks like WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 7:30 AM and 11 AM. Free bike rentals and a terrace are offered, and rooms have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Room well equipped. Friendly efficient staff
Cons: Physical layout and location of hotel
Pros: Staff was very friendly
Cons: My window leaked a lot of cold air so I had to pull the shade to the room warm
Pros: good value - lots of amenities and close to everything.
Pros: It's proximity to great attractions and sight seeing.
Cons: Our room overlooked the atrium pool. During pool hours (almost ALL our time there), so unable to take a nap at 4:00 after hawk watching.
And until the pool closed at 10:30, VERY noisy.
I would stay here again ONLY if could get an interior room away from the pool.
Pros: Location. Front desk guy on a Friday around 3pm. We got a hall room, the pool area rooms are probably really loud.
Cons: Housekeeping knocking on doors loudly in the early morning. Lots of young teenage boys. Elevators.
Pros: Very nice & well managed hotel. Close to everything, and quite comfortable. I can see where if you had a room by a pool it might be too noisy. We did not, we had a room with an amazing view of the harbor and we had a lovely and very relaxing time. Would recommend and we will come again.
Pros: Overall it is a good hotel. Clean, room was clean and smelled good. Good area for walking to bars/restaurants, getting to the pier, etc and not far from the highway. Front desk person was nice and even suggested a few spots for hiking for us.
Cons: We stayed on a level that had a pool and it was pretty loud. They have two pools I believe and they take up the exact center of the floor and have rooms surrounding the pool with maybe 10 feet of space on each site. We could hear conversations going on at the pool from our room with the TV on, so definitely ask for a room not on a pool level if you want a little more quiet setting. Overall a good hotel though.
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, lots of amenities, nice rooms. Pool was loud until close and then it was nice and quiet. Great place. Will stay again!
Pros: The room is clean.
Cons: The fridge is too nosie.
Pros: The location is great, close to Canal Park and the Duluth sights that most tourists want to see. We've been staying here on family vacations for many years and this hotel just feels comfortable, like a favorite pair of Levis.
Pros: Staff very friendly. Hotel is clean. Nice reception for the runners.
Cons: They jacked the rates up for the marathon. Over $300 per night? In Duluth? Really. It's a Holiday Inn. Our floor was the 10th. Lots of noise echoing through the halls until about 10:30 when the pool closed. No doorways on the hall to block noises from the pool area.

Pros: The club room access and the beverages that were available 24hrs. Parking was included, connected to the ramp. Location close enough to walk to many attractions.
Cons: No dislikes.
Pros: Great service from beginning to end. A special thanks to Front Desk manager Chris Powell for going out of his way to make my stay top notch.
Pros: I especially like the option of bringing my food up to my room to finish it at a later time. Robes for a quick swim in their Salt water pool, quite inside and out. Excellent location in downtown Duluth.
Cons: The whirlpool water was not hot enough for my taste, but then you can't have everything....
Pros: People, room, accommodations, all was wonderful!
Pros: staff very helpful
Cons: club on 6th floor was closed most of tues.
Cons: Hot tub was filthy only holds three. The glasses in our room were dirty and one of the complimentary water bottles was opened and half gone.
Pros: My husband and I were in Duluth celebrating our wedding anniversary. The location of the Sheraton is wonderful as it is in walking distance to several restaurants and bars.
The staff was very friendly and when we arrived back in our room the evening of our anniversary we had a complimentary dessert waiting for us along with a card.
Cons: I was a bit pricey to stay here, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Cons: air conditioning wasn't as cold as preferred
Pros: I had a power-snafu at my new apartment and rather than be stressed I just checked myself into a hotel until I could work it out. The only things I wanted were easy parking and the white duvet rather than the weird plasticy motel kind.
This looks like a recently remodeled property. Very clean, reasonably quiet, good sized room. Very clean bathroom with good water pressure and hot water. I will absolutely be putting my parents up here when they come visit. The price (low) is only because you're not downtown. But you are right across from the big Duluth/Superior retail area so there are lots of restaurants.
Pros: clean, nice people
Cons: For some reason staff had to open the room doors for guests because something wasn't working. Kind of a hassle.
Pros: good selection at breakfast
Cons: thin walls and door, tiny bathroom, hard bed
Pros: I enjoyed this location offered a clean room with free Wi-Fi, ample closet space and free breakfast
Cons: No complaints for this location.
Pros: Hotel was clean.
Staff was accommodating
Plenty of room to walk a dog.
Cons: The rooms were very small. We didn't have much room at all to maneuver in the room.
For the size of the room it was a bit expensive.
Pros: The hotel room was small, but very clean and the bed was comfortable! The staff was friendly and there was a good continental breakfast. I was also able to use the computer and printer in the lobby. It was a welcoming atmosphere.

Pros: The hotel was in close proximity to Canal Park and Downtown Duluth. It was clean and the staff were very nice. Our group had two rooms with two queen sized beds and the rooms were a good size. The rooms had small fridges which was really nice.
Cons: The bathroom was terrible small and not clean. Front desk guy was not very helpful, seemed we were bothering him when we checked in...he was the older guy, and the beds were worn out...and our sheets were not clean the first night we stayed...odd
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Checkout clerk couldn't figure things out.
Pros: Breakfast was perfect, rooms clean and comfortable.
Pros: Comfy beds. Vanity outside of shower/toilet room.
Cons: No elevator. Tight parking. Back access door didn't seem to lock.
Pros: This is a quieter hotel option than most in the area...perhaps because it is off the beaten track where the majority of tourists stay.....or because families might be more likely to choose a hotel that has a pool or rec center available. This hotel is basic and very practical. It is comfortable and sufficiently equipped for a pleasant stay. We also like that it is dog friendly. We appreciate that when we travel with our dog.
Cons: The breakfast was heavy on sweet rolls and bread-types of things. I wish there was fresh fruit and healthy choices among the breakfast options.

Cons: Rooms need updating, checking in was a hassle... front desk staff tried hard but were overwhelmed... front desk area was too small, right by the entrance which made it hard for people coming and going.
Having to walk downstairs with luggage to check inwas ridiculous... would never recommend staying here to anyone!
Pros: Amenities like hot tub, great location
Cons: Room was smelly, sink wouldn't drain, shower curtain was disgusting
Pros: Good value for money. Close enough location to main attractions but only if you have a car. Interesting place decoration wise. Helpful and very nice staff. Got a complementary upgrade.
Cons: Thin walls. Could be meat at breakfast.
Pros: the staff was very friendly and very helpful, the pool was excellent our daughter loved the arcade and the pool
Pros: Good value for the price.
Cons: Driveway/parking area needs fixing. Some pretty big holes.
Pros: I really liked the theme of the rooms, the hot tub and pool area were nice and the variety of breakfast foods was good.
Cons: The dining area for breakfast is a little cramped, our rooms floor seemed like it slanted and bed was very hard.
Pros: Nice location, quick check-in. Somewhat modern rooms.
Cons: Bed fell off bedframe, pillows were bad. The wooded decor seems dated, out of place.
Pros: The price was great.
Cons: The pool and hot tub are not near each other. No gluten free friendly options for breakfast, smells moldy.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and check-in was efficient.
Cons: The pool was so heavily chlorinated we couldn't even go in to look at it because of the overpowering smell.
The "deluxe breakfast" was store-bought muffins and bagels and some waffle mix with syrup. The two cereal options, fruit loops and I think raisin bran were chock full of sugar. No coffee mugs or glass cups but Styrofoam for everything. "Free breakfast" is fine, but don't call it deluxe.
The beds and room were mostly fine.
Pros: The workers were very helpful, the hot tub was amazing..Great stay for a weekend away
Cons: That hill leading up to the inn was difficult.Should post bigger signs stating there is an easier way to get up the just around the corner..Slide all the way down while going up..that's the only negative thing to say.
Pros: Staff was nice. Pool was fun. Hot tub was clean. Room was clean, view was decent. Check in and out was easy.
Cons: Parking lot was incredibly difficult to get into in the winter. Bathroom had no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Floors were uneven. No towels in pool area. No supervision of hot tub area-underage kids and big messes.
Pros: The bed was great! The room was clean and orderly. I'll use this location again.
Cons: The check-in parking is not good, at all. Having found no place to park on the upper level parking lot, I drove to the middle level parking lot where I found a space. Having no access to the lobby, aside from the upper level parking, I had to climb the snowy hill to enter the lobby for check in. Upon reaching the sidewalk to the entrance, there were two spots designated for check-in parking. Both spaces were filled and the signs were not visible due to the size of the vehicles in them.
The heating/cooling system in the room was a challenge. Setting the heat to 68 caused it to warm up considerably, more than expected. Shutting it off didn't help much. I tried the A/C for a while, just to cool the room off. I felt quite foolish for having to use the A/C in the winter but I was sweating otherwise.
Having fallen asleep before 10, I awoke to the room above being occupied. The people were quiet but every step they made was accompanied by a squeek/noise from the floor. Thankfully they didn't move about the room much.
