The breakfast was superb parking was a problem on one night
The staff and service were great. The food was excellent. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Great value for money. The only thing that would stop us staying there again is that the mattress was a little too hard for our comfort.
staff friendly and helpfull. On arrival I was not able to access hotel reception all dark and looked closed no bell etc.
Room was excellent and so were the staff who were efficient and friendly None
The room decor was very nice, it was very clean and the staff were friendly although there was no where else to sit as there was a function in the dining room/bar...
we wish we could have stayed longer.
Room was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast.
Room was as shown in the picture and very comfortable. Was able to order food from the restaurant and eat in the room, which was very nice and reasonably priced, breakfast was very good signal strength for the free wifi was to low for me to connect nd car park was to small for company van, but public car park very close and free between 18:00 and 08:00 which was ideal.
Excellent situation and very friendly staff Parking facility was not made clear that the cost was £1:00 per exit, not as stated £1:00 per stay.
The room was excellent, as was the car parking factilites There needs to be more Staff at Reception not one booking people in and serving drinks and food.
Very clean & comfortable hotel When I went to book in there was no record of the booking through Active Hotels. Luckily there were still rooms available then to rebook!
The staff were friendly and helpful I disliked nothing
Clean and friendly within walking distance to resturants and bars N/A
Good hotel, great design to match snow dome theme. Double bed too small and too bouncy. Quilt too small.
the atitude of the staff was very good and remained so under pressure, the rooms were top notch and seemed a shame to use them, the design /layout of the ground floor was well thought out, a brilliant stay. being a man that is under the watchful eye of the wife in reguards to my waste line i was looking forward toa full breakfast however whati got was very nice
Excellent value for money delivering to very high standard None
The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, I know its a new build but its very nice, the location to the snowdome was fabulous for us. Limited choice at breakfast, my son is autistic so didnt have hot food on the 2nd day, and would like a small fridge in the room. Other than that, whats not to like?
Modern & Clean Poor catering facilities. would have liked better dining facilities and meal choice in the evening. Continental breakfast fine.
Although it is located in the centre of Birmingham the hotelrooms were dirty and uncomfortable (old beds, bathroom below standards) Hotel needs compleet renovation
Location, the price I stay here 3 or 4 times a month and there are always niggling complaints; 2 out of my last 3 early morning call requests didn't happen. Heating not turned on in my room until 3rd request; no iron in the ironing room (stolen!) but no offer to pop next door to Debenhams to get one. Location and price, plus a decent breakfast, save the day
Housekeeping did their best given what they had to work with. No internet in rooms-barely functioning in lobby.
Hotel room was tiny, also walls and carpet were dirty. funny smell in hallsway and lift. Bar staff were very rude.
Excellent location - closed to all of the city's attractions, bars, clubs and shops No car park
I have nothing good to say about the experience except that the restaurant staff were friendly. It took 300 minutes of queuing to get a key and a further three ascents / further quesuing to get into the room as the magnetic strips did not work. Arrived early to be greeted simply with "You can't check in here" - no welcome or greeting. the most appalling service I have ever experienced in a city centre hotel, and for the price entirely unacceptable. Surly reception staff, overwhelmed by long queues and too few computers. Poor rooms small, dark, - wall paper peeling; paint rubbed off in bathroom
The hot bath/shower The facilities are old and out of date. It is a Victorian type of hotel but the maintenance to this standard has not been effected at all. The odour and smells coming out of the rooms are horrible. There is a a need to change the beddings and sheets.
the only thing good about this hotel was the guy that night on the reception he was shaking from the stress ,but we got dealy with ,and then the day after we were un happy again as my room had bee re booked to some one esle and i was sent to a yob hostel to put in polite where i had to share a lift with a skin head gross
great location for shopping etc and near station no staff about at breakfast no tables cleared to sit at when one did appear they still did not seem on top of the job. lunchtime in bar was short staffed one person behind bar doing everything not enough seats.
Room was dark and dirty, matted ball of hair on window pane( which faced another room, no natural light) awful room lighting, i asked for more lights and they did nothing to help.shower had no hot water and water poured out from a crack all over the bathroom floor and the t.v did not work unless you fiddled with the exposed wires!! the only reason i stay in this hotel is the location to workplace. This hotel needs a very huge renovation.
Very warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly staff and very comfortable room
After a long drive north from sussex, all we wanted was to relax with a drink and after checking in to our comfortable room with ensuite we went downsatirs to the bar and enjoyed the great atmosphere and great choice of beers and wines, after a meal out we returned to the bar to end our evening, the breakfast at the globe is really good a real generous portion of eggs bacon sausage mushrooms etc. Nothing
Recently refurbished, spotlessly clean, central location, lovely full- english cooked breakfast. Shower was under powered
The breakfast was good. Failed to provide the right accommodation paid for. Given room with two single beds. My wife became no longer interested in coming. The reception staff claimed ignorance of my online booking. The night was getting cold and there was no heating in the alternative room provided.
Friendly atmosphere, staff very helpful Tv old, hand set dificult to use. Room felt a bit 'old' and windows opened onto a flat roof right opposite extraction fans and smells of cooking etc wafted in when windows open.
In addition to the normal rquirements being met, I found the staff to be courteous and friendly, and the general atmosphere in the bar was convivial. It was impossible to reduce the heat output of the radiator even when turned to minimum. (I think I was in Room 6).
Clean with friendly staff and great value at the cheaper end of the price range. This was my 2nd stay & would stay again. The only down side was that the WIFI was not working.
Nice & clean, have fire point flashing & safely stairway for fire. Breakfast are very well cook & tidy on plate. Only little problem that in room not enough socket for kittle plug also tv need teletext for subtitles for deaf or hard of hearing.
None Misrepresented as hotel rather than pub with rooms. Sunday closing between 4pm & 7pm. Loud music from bar or function room during our stay. Only public parking no private car park. Disinterested and inadequately trained staff.
friendly helpful service from the staff poor water pressure in en-suite
They were prepared to accommodate a late arrival time for us, although we did have to pay an extra charge for this
No lift so awkward with pram, when booking online only gives option to say how many adults not children so online price was incorrect when I got there
it was very convenient for us nothing
Excellent service from staff My bathroom was not onsuite and needed a different key to get into. so lots of locking one door to unlock another.
the owners of the hotel were friendly and helpful
Homely. Pleasant staff. No evening meals.
The annexe allowed quietness but still very near main building
Friendliness and helpfulness of reception Breakfast not avail till 8am
The welcome received was lovely, very helpful staff and the welcome the children was given was wonderful - they loved their little bags with activities too - a really nice touch! Thank you - happy children equalled happy parents! Another towel for the baby would of been nice but a minor point.
this is a welcoming hotel with friendly staff. the room was clean and had great facilities
Clean tidy hotel, nice room, good parking, quiet location with friendly helpful staff
the hotel was exactly the same as you see on the t.v.I use to use Travelodge but will convert to your company from now on.
Efficient, booking in, friendly staff, clean, comfortable room, comfortable bed. Good food and mostly efficient friendly service. Although I was first to arrive for breakfast on my second day, dead on 7 am, my order was not taken for 15 minutes, and did not arrive for another 15 minutes. Then it was not what I had ordered! I was subsequently late for my first appointment of the day. Oh well!
All the staff were very attentive and always on hand to hekp if required. None
Nice staff very helpful
Comfortable and clean, with easy access to motorway links. Found premier in to be more comfortable than Holiday Inn Express. 'Table Table' pub and restaurant adjacent - good food at reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful. Drayton Manor Park nearby, short drive to The National Memorial Arbotetum.
The hotel was very clean and modern, with friendly staff. The rooms were fairly large. It had a modern, flat screen TV, and freeview. There is a nearby bus service which takes you to the town centre. The location is very awkward for those without a car. There are no shops. The hotel is surrounded by a roundabout, nearby flyover and motorway. Dangerous to cross roads with kids.
The hotel was in a great location as we were visiting Birmingham for the Christmas markets and shopping at the Bullring. Nothing at all.
The view, bed and the shower Chaotic buffet breakfast.
location was easy to find wifi was only in the lobby and I had to pay to use their parking deck
Very accomodating staff Dusty and the food was the same every day!
Check in/out was very efficient The lifts!! Have a mind if there own but when your in the 14th floor you have no choice but the use them it can take you up & down a few times before getting the floor you require Oh & breakfast is chaos not enough tables to cater for guests
The location, comfort and cleanliness of the hotel.
Staff very helpful, nice location. Room was in need of decorative updating, bathroom was scruffy and tired, heater did not work well
Excellent location, high standard of room, comfortable bed, excellent en suite with bath and shower. Breakfast was not very hot and we had to wait until we had nearly finished before coffee was served, but the choice was good. The plates should have been warmed.
Great, location, good food, and comfortable quiet room!
Large comfortable rooms, well heated and great bed
Breakfast Room was cold. Staff unable to get fixed so put up with it rather than repack and move.
The breakfast was excellent Excessive car charges £24 sterling for one night was excessive, I presume rooms are going to be updated ...
Staff really friendly without fail.
very close to town centre
the breakfast was fantastic.
Hotel as expected, staff very helpful, drinks and meals expensive but only to be expected on an airport site. Didn't have hotel breakfast as too expensive when you can get two good breakfasts at Frankie & Benny's in the airport for the same price as one in the hotel. Access to NEC and Birmingham centre.
The location was excellent for the airport along with the quick tram link to the NEC and train station. The rooms were freezing!
Proximity to Terminals and comfort of rooms. Check in and out times were excellent too.
Spacious room for organizing repacking to travel. Sufficient places to sit at dinner for a single person. Excellent personnel response in replacing burnt out light bulb. Location wrt airport and railroad. Value based on my particular reservation was good. I was paying out of personal pocket. But I would return for the same price. No bright LEDs to disturb my sleep Nice breakfast. Nothing bad No sign if water in fridge is free (many hotels charge for this) I would like decaf earl grey for room to help sleep Burger at dinner. Glad that this was well-done. But the bun was very dry. Needed a nice sauce to make it all more moist and flavorful. Restaurant did not seem to know if a British beer: ale was available. Yes I liked the ale provided but the server did not know about it. It would be good if there are real British ales on tap instead of the usual corporate beers. Is it possible to get United miles for staying at Novotel? This Would influence my decisions. John Taylot
Convenient to Birmingham Airport! Great for early morning flight. They even gave us our b'fast in a bag the night before since our plane left before the breakfast opened. We have traveled a bit, but never in a place where we needed to insert our card into a slot to turn on the lights. Guess that is well known, however was not by us. Helpful housekeeper showed us. Very convenient to have USB charger for electronics.
staff was very helpful and friendly
I loved how convenient is was to get to the NEC and airport from the hotel. It was stress free and swift.
The staff very helpful
Great location for airport and NEC events. Restaurant on site and bar open 24hours. Good for business, leisure or family stays. Staff friendly. Very accommodating and would definitely stay again. No noise heard from the airport. Our allocated room smelled of smoke and they changed our room immediately and apologised.
Room very basic and poorly decorated, no air con or fully opening windows
quality of breakfast not as high as the last time I stayed with you three years ago. Sorry.
Luxury and modern styling, lovely lobby, restaurant and classy bar, clean and felt quality, professional and smart staff The drunk young italian thug at the bar....... The lack of free satellite tv channels...... Plus the parking that had to be in the NCP around the corner was closed at 11pm when I got back to the hotel!
very helpful staff nothing outstanding stood out but it was a very pleasant stay with no problems. too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi
Well appointed and central location However you look at it £170 can get you overnight anywhere
Wonderful Room Wonderful View Wonderful Spa!
Easy walk to NIA. Staff always polite & friendly. Nothing
Good staff Want to charge you for water bottles in room No batteries in remote control Cheap toilet paper For the price you pay you would think the hotel would get all these little points right!
Late check out at 12.00, which means you can have a lovely lie in Unfortunately the temperature was minus 4 degrees and the hotel is not built for cold weather. The rooms were just at a reasonable temperature for someone that doesn't feel the cold too much. The restaurant and lounge area were very cold and whilst the food was excellent, we left as soon as we had finished eating as it was uncomfortable to sit and enjoy.
helpful porters at the entrance and the pool.
Excellent facilities Comfortable bed overal good We presumed breakfast and car parking was included in the price as it was the previouse year and cheaper then.
Dining room staff excellent all staff very helpful Telephoned to change from one room to two. This had not happened on checking in. However we were accommodated a room each and next to each other which was great
Excellent service Nothing
The service is excelecnt and willing to help you non
Nice quiet place, good service, ok place
noisy revellers in the nearby Market Tavern Pub, a short distance from the hotel - this isn't a reflection on Chapel House b/c they could not control for that occurrence, but it did interfere with our sleep.
Wonderful family run hotel. On arrival we recieved a very warm welcome and were given a beautiful room furnished in keeping with the Georgian period of the building. A nice modern bathroom with quality toiletries and a good power shower. The restaurant is very elegantly furnished and the quality of the food at dinner was fantastic. A little more expensive than average, but then this is not your average restaurant, worth every penny for a special night out. The owner is very passionate about both his food and wine. Excelent full english breakfast. This hotel was exaxctly what I was looking for as a weekend treat for my partners birthday.
Spacious, well equipped room. Very comfortable and clean. Nothing
Chef Patron served breakfast wearing dirty whites and not over sociable, restaurant was rather rowdy we opted to dine elsewhere. Room decor was rather dated. Cutlery and tableware could have been in better condition. No one was about to receive the keys when we left.
Excellent Breakfast (didn't have dinner) Friendly helful staff
Friendliness of owners
Excellent food, wireless Internet access, excellent service.
Beautiful countryside, great shopping in Birmingham. The grounds of the hotel were very well kept. well past its refurb date. environmental health and health and safety issues.
Convenient location. Ideal for a night out in the centre of Birmingham. Rooms were pretty basic, but sound enough for what we needed them for.
the size of our room was excellent
double beds in thetwin rooms and being allowed to have a smoking room
hotel room was lovely - good value for money and the breakfast was good.
My visit was good and enjoyed my stay as the location is near the clubs and restaurants and the German Market The fact that the cleaners woke me up three times between 8.30am and 9.30am by entereing my room while I was sleeping
Location despite being far from the railway station What we were charged had nothing to do with both your prices on the internet and nothing to do with the numbers of breakfasts we had. we had to intervene to both. this is the first time we are facing this after hundreds of hotels we visited. we had our room left for the hole day as we woke up one day
the pizza. screaming kids running about in the corridor.
Location; bar. 1. Staff ignoring people who were smoking in the non-smoking/eating sections of the hotel. 2. Newspapers having to be collected from reception - I wanted to read in bed. 3. The shower leaks all over the bathroom floor because the shower door doesn't fit properly
Proximaty to centre
Jurys have really up the mark in this Hotel,We have stayed before and it gets better every year.
The availability of an iron and ironing board in my room. When I went down to breakfast I was seated and then ignored for about 25 minutes. I had to ask one of the staff if I could order as I had a tight schedule.
room was lovely Checking out was long winded as only one receptionist on, we were checking out at 07.15am (not a busy time!) to be at an appt for 07.30 but receptionist was back & forward as couldn't find a receipt for customer in front of us and never once asked for someone to serve,so we were late for our appt by few minutes....poor
massage chairs in the spa were a big plus
This is the second time here and we had another wonderful time! We especially love the position as its very close to the canal network and various bars and restaurants - plus very near to the City Centre. Lovely atmosphere too as, although its an incredibly comfortable hotel it also has a 'warm and inviting' feel. Your staff are 'second to none' - well done! Hope this assists - thanks.
Close to Birmingham New Street rail station
The room was comfortable. The check-in experience was very amateur for a hotel of your calibre. Also I found that the carpet in the room was quite stained.
The comfort of the rooms and big bathrooms along with the atmosphere in the bar/restaurant area. gorgeous breakfasts with very good attention to detail with what was on offer. The shower was a bit low in both pressure and height and the room a bit cool.
Stylish decor the very poor service!!! both reception and in the restaurant!!!
The service in the bar was appalling and the hotel is starting to look shabby and neglected.
the heating,as it was very cold in birmingham city that day we was their no where to park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The location of the hotel is a short walk from the staion and from the bull ring The rooms are basic beds not comfortable air con very load for a new hotel only a shower with basic soap travel lodge style food in restraunt poor rough area laminated floors in bedroom would not recormend this as a buiness hotel
The hotel had a pretty good location, fairly central to the city and shops. I was literally a few minutes from where I needed to be. The room was very cold in the morning however it did snow over night and the beds were not partically spacious
The Hotel was spot on staff very helpfull walking into city centre was about 15 minutes through not very nice side streets. ( not recomended returning from NIA at night )
Nice and friendly receptionists I choose the hotel because Internet should be available. That turned out to be the case only in the first floor, not in my room.
the breakfast was delicious, hotel is quite near to the new street railway station and the shopping centre bullring although the hotel should be 4*, some services and facilities, which should be in 4* hotel are missing - minibar, safebox, bathroom amenities + the price 15 GBP also for TV (bbc, cnn...) is too high! (standard TV channels should be for free)
For the price, I would have expected more. It was clean and basic.
The room was very clean and well presented and very quiet. Coffee & Tea available. I did not like the Hotel policy of requiring a deposit if you were going to use any of the facilities. For example we had dinner in the restaurant but I was not allowed to charge it to my room because I had not paid a deposit when I booked in. I paid cash. It is a minor irritation but a silly policy.
On a cold winters night it was very very close to the bar we were going to that evening and it was close to local shops and supermarket! Staff were extremely unwelcoming and not usefull in the slightest
The whole package, from the staff to the great accommodation. Just one very small thing, at breakfast, the plates weren't warmed so breakfast was cold before it got to the table.
Very quiet room, very comfortable bed & seating. Tea & coffee facilities well stocked. Check-in was very poor, slow - with a queue from desk to entrance. Staff approach seemed rather too casual. Bedroom was quite clean but had to remove some litter from floor.
Didn't stay at Mint Hotel - stayed at City Inn, birmingham Bed really uncomfortable
the easyness it was to get to the NIA and broad street. it was quite hot in the room and found it difficult to turn the heating down.
huge window was a nice touch no bath
The room was very clean and very well equipped. The location of the Hotel was also very central and convenient for the city centre.
location charging additional for breakfast. small rations for in room coffe making.
Nice spacious rooms, excelent location, check staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was cold, poor choice and very expensive, the staff at breakfast were either hungover or on mogodam,go weatherspoons.
Excellent hotel, with everything you need near by. The pubs clubs and restaurants were only 3 min walk away. A superb hotel to stay in.
everything!was a great stay
The room was tastefully decorated and the location was awesome
Clean, good food, excellent reception and friendly staff, ggod value
Very good all round Would stay again
For the size it was very clean, good vfm, beer and food good and the freeview was a surprise - only expected a little portable tv. Will definitely stay again
Very competitive price for such superb room condition. Close to town centre and shops, staffs were very nice and helpful. Internet connection was poor, and a little bit noisy during night time.
excellent on all counts. well informed staff and they even knocked on our door before the end of the breakfast serving to see if we required breakfast as it was about to end. breakfast timings were far too early! to END breakfast at 8.30am is too early for a holiday.def should be til at least 9.00am. We had had a very stressful previous day and needed a rest. so had to go and find breakfast after checkout at 10.00 elsewhere., even though we had paid for it.
Extremely good value for money. Easy to find and very close to centre of the town
Accomodation is over a pub which serves food all day, we ate there a few times and the food is very good and reasonable, rooms are clean. It was our second time staying in the Tamworth Arms.
location uncomfortable bed
Yes the hotel had no resturant and the rooms wasnt very clean
The room was very spacious, plenty for three of us.The staff were pleasant & helpful. We found the breakfasts to be a big let down.In no way thought they were worth £10 each.
to be perfectly honest I would not stay there again, and the breakfast was terrible, lack of service , tables weren't cleared
bed was very uncomfertable, got bad neck from it. alot of bugs in room. could hear music from clubs. sink didnt drain properly. floor in bathroom felt like it was going to fall in. did not enjoy stay one bit
just the location and the staff, did not eat there so cannot comment on food the furnishings and decor
Room ok, if a bit jaded. Very noisy outside the hotel, kept me awake. Cost of a pretty average breakfast unjustifiably high. I can burn my own bacon and serve myself for a lot less.
The room was comfortable. Staff were friendly and obliging. The heating was too much in the room. Obviously people in the same building were smoking.
Staff were very helpful especially late at night Expensive for a few hours which was all we were there
Staff fine & helpful, food good No car Park. Lack of adequate plugs in rooms
the late bar and the variety of the restaurents the cost of the restaurent and the fact that a service charge was put on the bill automatically.....even though it was a self service meal??
All staff I came into contact with, the checking- in staff and particularly the concierge staff were excellent, pleasant and extremely helpful. Obviously, as it is near the NEC it was quite crowded and noisy in parts/
Location - Near NEC and Birmingham Airport Rooms tiny with single bed up against wall. No Aircon and advised not to open windows as the Mosquitos will come in. Restaurant expensive for extremely average food.
leisure facilities, close to nec
Room service was excellent!
Our room was booked from 3pm, but there was no twin room ready when we checked in at 4pm, yet they wouldnt allow us a late checkout either, that was unreasonable. Also, food was a v basic bar menu, or a la carte expensive fine dining or the middle option was a buffet which costs £33 per head and was a total rip off. A glass of wine ws £7.95. Do not recommend eating here. Although breakfast was included in our rate, we couldnt pay the £3.50 tray service to have it delivered to our room, we would also have to pay an additional £20 for the breakfast!! I think the website should inform you of this and I think it is unfair.
the menu choice and the food and service in the restaurant was excellent, the rooms were very comfortable as well. When I was arriving to find the hotel (however it was in the darkness) I felt that there could be better directional signage for the hotel on the surrounding roads.
Everything was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was only about 10 min walk from the nec. The meals were a bit to expensive.
Heating did not work very good, only cold air and it was -6 outside.
swimming pool the room was a bit shabby -bathroom the guy next door smoked hanging out side the window and there were tab ends all over the flat roof outside It was not as nice as the other 2 stays
We booked the hotel because hotel had a multi-million pound update. Unfortunately we were put in one of old rooms not refurbished. The hotel accommodated us when we explained we booked the hotel on-line because of the refurbishment and we were moved to a more suitable room
