pleasant hotel in an excellent location. ideal for exploring reims and the champagne region.
personable staff and they were very helpful Rooms are comfortable and vey quiet. Air con is very quiet also and makes for a good night sleep. We use this hotel on our way south and it is very good value for money
The location is very ggod.
Nice clean room, excellent location, friendly staff Difficult to reach because of road construction.
convenient location, very central, nnicely appointed
i thought the pool area was a bit stark and needed brightening up - also the water was extremely cold - however we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again
The location is absolutely the best and most convenient. We were initially assigned a room next to the heating shaft (any room ending in ..27, like 327, 827, 627). A low frequency high pulsating drumming was unbearable. They moved us to a new room immediately.
The hotel located directly in the city center near the cathedral. The restaurant in the hotel provides low quality "fast food like" meals for high prices. In general the food is not fresh and of low quality and tasteless. The rooms offered for families are small and of low comfort.
Poor information provided at check in
room was clean and comfortable bathroom was unpleasant.Mould on tiles and shower curtain, sink damaged nd stained. Road outside of hotel dug up and therefor made access difficult
Staff were great. Room very clean, comfortable. Hotel in great location, close to shopping, station, Champagne houses. Late checkout.
Location near the centre of town Very little assistance with tourism help. Told where cathedral was and that was all
I liked that it was very centrally located to the main hub! :) I wished they accepted the chèques vacances; most every hotel we have stayed at, accepts these except this one! :(
construction in front of the hotel entrance, vey hard time accessing the hotel, parking in an elevator, very dated hotel, dark
The view from the roof top resturant is lovely. Breakfast is good. Location is excellent to visit places of interest like the cathedral. Car park space is a bit small.
easy to find, close to city center (but the city itself is not so big)) municipal road reconstruction is taking place right in front of the hotel; in our booking we asked for the non smoking room, but were put in a smoking one (and on a smoking floor) without any comments - not so pleasant to wake up in the morning smelling smoke coming from the neighbour balcony(((; and finally! - as every tourist knows, we had a special "do not disturb" sign and once we went to have breakfast and planned to return to the room right after it, we hung it outside the door. What was our shock when we opened the door and discovered a maid in the room in the middle of the cleaning process!!! What are these signs made for???
Very central. Car parking facility available. Comfortable and clean Breakfast too expensive.
Easily accessed from the motorway, very centrally placed hotel, imaginative use of space to create underground carpark (secure) and rooftop restaurant with marvellous cathedral view
walking distance to town centre, clean well maintained room and parking avaliable.
Overpriced food & drinks.
Location was excellent and good breakfast in the room
Friendly and helpful staff Slow service in the bar
good rooms difficult to negotiate one way system around hotel
What you see is what you get. Don't expect more and you're ok. Smelly corridors, not a very cosy hotel
Large comfortable bed Height restriction on car park. 1.80m
Location was good. Breakfast was good. My non smoking room smelt of cigarettes
Helpful staff WiFi was unstable in our room.
Room good size, free parking out back, BBC/CNN on tv Not terrific for non French speakers, but they try. Breakfast was good, but seemed a little expensive.
Clean, reasonable prices, near the conference center The breakfast is same everyday.
We were treated as Kings. More than pleasant treatment from staff. Very personalised service and care. NO.
Good to have off street private car parking. Bedroom and bathroom were of a reasonable size. WiFi access was good. Glad we didn't pay full rate for hotel stay. Most of the staff were helpfull, polite and courteous, one definate exception. Petit dejeuner poor value. Hotel very dark. Nowhere to put towels in bathroom. Le Millenaire restaurant is not next door - but, 10-15 minutes walk away.
Friendly staff, secure parking air conditioning was inadequate, small room
Nice quaint older building with a homey feel. Good location, quiet. Free parking. Attentive and very helpful staff.
Excellent room facilites. Friendly & helpful staff. Location slightly awkward to find. A bit of a walk to decent restaurants.
The beautiful surroundings and furnishing of the hotel.
I would certainly stay here again. It has a bit of a qurky feel about the hotel which we really liked. We had a luxe room which was large and the bathroom and toiletries where fabulous. It was also quiet which the motorised blinds probably helped to achieve. As well as being near the town centre, it is very handy for tours around several of the champagne houses too I am not sure I would opt for breakfast again though, it was nice, but ridiculously expensive
Beautiful old world decor, kind and very helpful staff, perfectly located within short walk to ville,
The old style hotel in a calm place, still close to the downtown. The staff was very helpful and polite. I had some difficulties to get to the car park area within the hotel with my big gar. The entry is slightly narrow.
Very comfortable stay here. Room was very clean, well-designed and big enough for two persons, and the bathroom was also very clean and there were enough amenities. I traveled from Belgium by my car, and my car window got dirty, but the next morning I found it cleaned. I felt execellent hospitality. When I arrived the hotel, I could not find where I could part. It would be better if a sign to part is displayed at the entrance.
Easy to walk to city centre.Good car park.fair priced rooms.Breakfast good. Room a bit "tight" with 3 beds.
not far from the city center, view on the cathedral from our room, nice comfortable beds bathroom was a little bit dated,
The food and drink was of good quality and reasonably priced when compared to nearby restaurants. The twin room was too small for two people and felt a little 'cramped'. The bathroom was ample in size, clean but the extractor fan was either inefficient or broken. The public rooms were fine, but the corridors were dirty (cobwebs) and these and bedrroms were in need of re-decoration.
Close to city center Noisy street, twin room (although double was requested), hevily smoked room (non-smoking was specifically requested), no staff attempt even to open window/refresh air. Sleepless night as a result.
Within easy walking distance of the centre of Reims
Hotel is within wolking distance from City center and Cathedral. Easy parking in streets around the hotel. Friendly Hotel staff.
Ideal for a short stopover, close to the motorways and just a 10-minute-walk from the cathedral Unfriendly receptionist who still needs to learn to say 'bonjour' and smile. That woman definitely didn't like her job.
Secure parking, and easy to locate from the motorway. When sofa bed converted to sleep 3 in the room, we had to climb over the bed to get in and around the room.
The friendliness of the staff and the how they were always able to help. The room was also very clean and tidy and always well presented after cleaning. Sometimes was a lttle bit cold at night because of the heating not being on.
I was first put in a room facing the highway interchange (which I didn't realize would be so close to the hotel!) but when I complained I was offered a quite room to the quieter backside immediately. The hotel is close to the cathedreal and not too far from the shops. Easy to find when coming by car. Charged different price for Tuesday night then for Wednesday night -- shuold have been the same
The wonderful staff makes this hotel great. They helped us with parking and told us about a free show each evening. Even put my bottle of iced tea in the refrigerator over night. The people made us feel very welcomed The rooms are pretty small, but comfortable and air conditioned...a real find in the older cities apparently.
Great location and excellent staff. Wifi was terrible once you got above the 1st floor.
Excellent position for visiting central Reims. Good but relatively costly parking underground nearby. Ok for a couple of nights Expensive, fairly average breakfast. (9 Euros)
Very nice spacious rooms, centrally located. Spotlessly cleaned (including floors mopped!) every day!
Friendly staff and close proximity to city centre restauraunts and attractions. Hotel is situated on a busy, noisy street.
The location was perfect in the centre of Reims, and not a noisy part so that is always a bonus. A bit of a strange set up realy, having booked 2 double rooms for two nights, on arrival this was confirmed but were informed that we had to pay up front before key cards were released, which was very unusual! but only payment for one night was taken. on arrival back the next day we were locked out of our rooms because we had not paid for the second night!! however this was resolved at reception, keys were issued and we paid on departure the next day. Our Room 101 had patio doors onto a exclusive courtyard area! which sounds fine, but it had been left with old and broken hotel and Garden furniture and was a complete mess, with nothing even to sit on!!! such a shame as the location of the Hotel lends it's self to a much better standard.
The hotel is centrally located and is surrounded by excellent restaurants and bars. The staff were helpful and the room was great value for money.
The hotel is located on the maine Place of Reims with all the bars, pubs and clubs. It's old...
Only the location, Reims city. No sound insulation - you can hear your neighbours from left, right and above... Courtains are not wide enough to prevent the floodlight from the facade and teared. Brakefast is squeezed in the corridor of the fourth floor, dirty tables, frugal offer,....
Great location in the centre of Reims, a few minutes walking distance from the railway station, close to most restaurants and shops in general. We pick easily noise from the street, with a quite busy late night life due to the presence of many bars around..
It was cheap, the staff was pleasant, breakfast was decent. Rooms are dilapidated. Need refurbished...desperately. Our friend's room had peeling wallpaper border and lots of mildew in the bathroom. Our bathroom also had too much mildew.
Affinity of railway station, fine environment, affinity of the Congress centre, the fine city of Rheims Absence of television programs in English, let alone Russian, only 4 programs and they basically primitive - entertaining. It would be desirable, that there were booklets with instructions where there are nearby food supermarkets where it is possible to have dinner cheaply where soups submit, dishes with broths. We in Russia have not got used to dry food.
Staff friendly - gave helpful advice about champagne houses, opening times, maps, etc
The hotel was basically in the centre of Reims. The bathroom in the room could have done with a makeover! The sliding door to the bathroom did not close - in fact it was hanging off of its hinges!
Location excellent Noisy rooms, needs updating
Position - very close to main shopping areas Probably a bit expensive
In a great position in the middle of the town and practically on top of the car park. The breakfast was quite expensive yet you could walk out of the hotel door and within 10 meters there were 5 places that provided a breakfast at half the price.
comfortable rooms and friendly staff the room i stayed in was hard to get to with large and heavy bags
Very helpfull staff
the location of the place The price/quality ratio fo this hotel is not good. The room is very small. The beds are absolutely dreadful. Very small, 1m40, this is not exceptional for France but very uncomfortable. They also but some kind of cover on top of the mattress but under the actual covers. Result: impossible to sleep.
We stayed in a superior room and thought it was an excellent modern and spacious room apart from a rather hard bed. Staff were excellent and very helpful. We stayed 3 nights but didn't have breakfast because at 13 euros per person it seemed very expensive.
location could use bit of a "refresh"
In spite of being right on the main pedestrian area, it was pretty quiet at night. Beautifully decorated room with a nice, large bathroom
Right at the very heart of the town centre on the main street, but not noisy. Also there was discounted underground car parking within 20 metres of the hotel
Helpfulness of reception staff. Difficult to locate due to roadworks. At breakfast they ran out of viennoiseries. No pains au raisin!
Dinner was very good, service attentive, as was breakfast, lovely belle epoque bar and restaurant.
Set on a pedestrian street full of restaurants and a carousel Seems to be well favoured by people travelling with dogs.
Quite noisey as room looked out onto square
Excellent location for shopping and visiting the city and a 5 mn walk from the railway station. Clean and with character.Overlooking the pedestrian street with the Christmas market which was rather magical. The main French TV channels were not working due to the switch to digital but new TVs were delivered during my stay there so the problem will be fixed very shortly (sadly not while I was there).
Great location in the town with easy access to all the tourist attractions. Underground public car park within 20 metres of the Hotel Entrance with reduced rates for Hotel guests. The rooms and particularly the bathrooms are in need of a re-fit. Whilst it was clean its not good value for money and you can get better rooms in the town for less.
location romm dirty
Very well situated in Reims, very near to restaurants and bars. Its own restaurant is good. The hotel bar and restaurant is closed on Monday. (Except for breakfast)
The location was great for seeing the city and walking to cafes and restaurants. The hotel is located on a main pedestrian mall. Everything here is loud ; luggage being pulled along the cobbled streets, cafe furniture being chained and unchained at all hours. I can't imagine how anyone would get a full nights sleep in this hotel. We took the hotel breakfast on our first morning. There was very little left to chose from; a few peices of cheese, no meat, only whole kiwi fruit and no knives for cutting or peeling. We paid 32.00 for two cups of coffee, two bowls of cereal, a few slices of orange processed cheese (which should be a crime in France) and four croissants.
Hotel staff was great. We had a lovely dinner at the Cafe Bristol downstairs -- despite the presence of a really big tour group at the same time. Location is very convenient. Parking was a nightmare due to local construction. Took us forever to get to the right place (more than 1 hour to figure it out). Better documentation of where/how to park and how to even get to the parking would be appreciated during the reservation process. Note this isn't a complaint to the hotel (construction is hardly their fault) -- just a suggestion on how to make things easier on future guests.
Excellent desk staff Room very small. Shower had no screen
I loved the art deco and the piano lounge. Although one person at reception said the bar was 24 hours and the other (the later one) said not. The fabrics. The tone and 80s patern of the fabric brings the tone and image of the hotel down. The furniture is great though. The bathrooms could also be improved, but not bad.
location hot....needs air con !!
nothing everything - very sleezy hotel
Easy to find and good local parking No
the location was the only good thing about this hotel the hotel was poorly kept up
Couldn't wait to get out of the hotel. It was tired and in need of an upgrade Bathroom in need of repair
Great Location. Nice breakfast choices. Pet friendly.
the hotel is very clean (and this is put of stadard for franch hotels.... the quality is quite high and the relation between quality and price is very high. the position is excellent (close by parking, train station, city center, museums and cathedral. to try! the breakfast is quite expensive (like everywhere in franch): better looking for a boulangery (vwhere a lot in the block)
The staff were extreemly helpful, excellent breakfast
Hotel location was excellent for visiting Reims, with plenty of restaurants in close vicinity Room was poorly furnished, very small, very hot, very uncomfortable. The shower/toilet were the size of a cupboard. Stairs were steep (no lift) and poorly lit at night. Breakfast would not suit anybody with an appetite! Parking was secure, but several minutes walk from the hotel.
modern hotel and nice heater the package is bundled with breakfast. it's not for travelers like me who leave the hotel at 5am in the morning
Hotel receptionist recommended a local restaurant which was superb and at which we were given a free glass of champagne. Hotel staff were very friendly.
Very nice small hotel with excellent location to city centre. Helpful & smily staff.
the employees were very friendly. the rooms were very nice for a city hotel.
Dislike: 1) there is no lift, but ok - you are warned in advance. But the staircase is very steep and stairs are very narrow (about 10 cm wide) - so lifting my heavy suitcase onto the second floor after rolling it along digged streets around Reims train station (seems there was a sudden announcement that there was a treasure buried somewhere nearby) and afterwards along a block road almost without a sidewalk was a real nightmare; 2) my card was charged (not preauthorized without me knowing it) - the owner told it to me when I wanted to pay in the morning 2) in my very small room there was no real door between the room and absurdly small bathroom - only a wooden vent with wooden bars inserted in it at an angle - so vapour from the shower and smell in the room from the toilet. And there is an announcement in the bathroom asking not to use water flush in the toilet during the night! 3) very serious: when I asked to use their luggage room next morning, I was told that the hotel is closed on sunday, so it was impossible! The owner said it was advertized at booking.com (false). But she found a solution - I had to go to their garage (5 minutes walk), open a big garage door, leave a luggage, close the door, in the evening to do the same thing, then return to the hotel and leave a key in th post
Bright cheerful & very clean room/ modern clean bathroom situated in a quiet side street.
Very friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient stop over. Pretty small rooms, quite a walk from the centre of Reims
