Pros: The property was definitely a perfect getaway from the city . It s located right next to a few famous onsen and many shops nearby . The property was beautiful and full of history with a beautiful garden . The staff were all v attentive and polite ! Perfect getaway !
Cons: All Perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historical background and very interesting architectural design.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most impressive experience during our two weeks journey in Japan. Only arriving to the location we discovered it belongs to the Relais Chateau association. And it really deserve it. Top old japanese building with a beautiful japanese garden. Big and clean inner onsen (with the possibility to visit all the onsen in town thanks to a special pass). The best thing probably was the dinner: 2 hours and a half enjoying a superb meal dressing beautiful kimono in our spacious tatami room, served by a kind japanese girl (in kimono as well). It worth all the money we have spent.
Cons: All perfect. It's 15 minutes far from the station but a shuttle to/from the hotel is available. Anyway the road along the canal is beautiful and pleasurable to walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Authentic Japanese experience in a mineral spring spa called an onsen. Staff was very attentive and helpful and they carefully explained how to use the spa and what is expected. We were served a 10-course meal in our room and slept on futon mats with a gorgeous view of the Japanese garden. Unforgettable experience!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: More an experience than a stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is the traditional japanese one, a real experience but might not meet everybody's tastes. The staff is super friendly and helpful, highly dedicated.
Cons: Perhaps having the possibility to choose between the traditional japanese breakfast and a western one could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I travelled alone in Japan for two weeks staying in hostels and 'capsule hotels'. I decided to splash out on this wonderful Ryokan and was not disappointed. I stayed for 2 nights and tried to book another night, it was booked up! I was floating around in a gown and slippers in between my room and the inhouse hot springs. The service was AMAZING and I had breakfast in my room each day (Japanese and Western-style) which was delicious I would highly recommend this hotel....as it was the best place I have ever stayed!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Doesn’t look as grand as other ryokan on the outside, but the inside is simple yet gorgeous, but also very comforting. The private onsen is also very nice to have, I soaked in them alone most of the time. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The cost, but honestly you get what you pay for. The hospitality, the decor, the services, everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The total package had exceeded our expectations. This property has taken hospitality to another level. The architecture of the property, its ambience, the personalized in-room dining service and the onsen's temperature were all perfect. Of course, the dinner and breakfast were awesome!
Cons: No issues.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The dinner, best Kaisekj i have had in Japan The staff super friendly and accomodating
Cons: The breakfast was the same both days

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I will be happy to recommend this place for stay ! Don’t miss it when you visit Kinosaki Onsen. And, book early especially during the peak winter season which I understand they are usually very fully booked way in advance. The 2 owners husband & wife team, who is the 3rd generation in this family run business in Kinosaki Onsen, makes this place special. Services were excellent and facilities good (huge room with very comfortable futon, spacious seating area with unblocked view, in a traditional Japanese setting with a modern western toilet within the room). The Japanese breakfast and Kaiseki dinner (especially the later), were superb and of good value, so yummy good quality and quantity served all the way to your room. It was a very personable service and experience for me. I had truly enjoyed myself more than I had expected.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: They made me a gluten-free breakfast that could have fed three people! It was gorgeous, including salmon, tamagoyaki (eggs), rice, miso soup, shrimp and squid sashimi, vegetables, and fruit. They bought gluten-free soy sauce for me even though I told them that I would bring my own. The ryokan is very, very clean and the host is very friendly, and the location is perfect for visiting onsen, with many restaurants and shops nearby. It was also nice to have a toilet attached to the room rather than having to share one. The room also had a sink and refrigerator.
Cons: Although it was not problem for me, my room was on the third floor, which might be a problem for those with mobility concerns.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was Great. Hosts were wonderful as was space. Extremely gracious. Breakfast wonderful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place was very clean and the staff were very very nice! They always willing to help and breakfast was great!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, be experience staying there! Breakfast was amazing! Best provided yukata in town. Good value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The couple that runs the place are a delight, very friendly and accommodating for those traveling solo. Incredible value for money and a delicious breakfast was included. The property is also in prime location, a four minute walk from Kinosakionsen station. Another important perk is that the day pass for the other onsens around Kinosaki is already included in the price. The room was spacious in beautiful Japanese style. Definitely worth a visit!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old traditional home. Very close to all the Onsens. Very helpful host. It was great to be able to spend a little time with her. She was helpful with information that oriented me to the town and the Onsens.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were very well received by Mizuho and Chihiro, who were very nice and helpfully. The guesthouse was well located, near the Onsens. And the guesthouse was clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is run with lots of love and warmth. The dorms are very comfortable and compared to other shared rooms come with lots of space. Upon arrival you receive cloth and shoes for the Onsen. (2 comments not related to the place, which we somehow didn’t know, which are helpful for planning. Only two of the 7 public Onsen are open the whole day. The other open at 3p.m. . Most restaurant close quite early, so make sure to go have dinner in between.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful ryokan run by adorable sisters. The place is immaculate and close to the canal and 7 onsens.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had such a lovely stay at Guesthouse Kinosaki Wakayo! The owners were so friendly and welcoming upon arrival. They provide you with the yukata robe and coat, small towel, sandals (if you want) and bag to carry your things for visiting the local onsen. I was worried that I'd be chilly in the yukata and coat, but really it was perfect after soaking in the hot water. I stayed in the shared tatami mat room, with traditional futon beds that you unroll yourself. It was very comfortable for sleeping, and I was shown how to use the heater if it got chilly in the room, which helped at night when the temperature dropped a bit. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the town and not far from several of the onsen. You can get a day pass to use all of the onsen, though I maxed out at 3 (of 8 total). At each onsen you put your shoes in a shoe locker before entering the locker room, where you get undressed and put all your belongings in another locker. You then go into the onsen room with just the locker key and small towel (if you want), watch yourself at the stools with the shower (shampoo and soap are provided), then go to soak in the onsen.
Cons: Nothing - it was a very lovely stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Location was super close to the Center. The staff was extremely friendly. Everything was clean. ANd I loved the Yukata they provided for free!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The house is lovely. They lend you a yukata, handbag and face towel to go discover the town onsens by yourself. Traditional Japanese experience.
Cons: Since it is an old building, you can hear people talking. My neighbors were chatting and laughing after midnight. I knocked a few times to make them shut up. Very rude Japanese girls.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Both of the sisters (hostesses) were nice and friendly. They would do their best to accommodate the guests, and communicate with us. Even though English is difficult, they can make use of their translating tool to convey a message. They would provide us with a yukata, geita, Japanese bag and small towel. Use it for traveling around town and enjoy the onsen. The place is close to the river, and two of the 7 onsen.
Cons: Unlike ryokan in town, they would not give you the onsen pass. You can purchase it for 1200 yens, at any of the onsen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had such a lovely time here. The guesthouse is so homely. I slept so good in the dorm room which was one night for myself. Such a calm warm place with friendly girls to take care of you. The onsens are ofcourse really nice as well and close by. You also get an onsen outfit on loan for free. And the place was so clean and smelt like flowers which were everywhere in and around the house. Miss it already!
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, charming and cozy place, good location.
Kinosaki Onsen Hanakouji Saigetsu - Toyooka - Building

9.2 Excellent (293 reviews)

With a stay at Kinosaki Onsen Hanakouji Saigetsu in Toyooka (Kinosaki Onsen), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Kinosaki Onsen Ropeway and Hachigoro's Tojima Wetland. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unfortunately I can only give 10/10 on this web site but Hanakouji Saigetsu deserves much, much more! The location, just a minutes walk from the rail station is ideal. The room was huge and very comfortable, facilities were great, the meals were out of this world, the onsen hot baths were superb and the hosts could not have been more helpful. I for one will definitely return in the future. You have probably guessed by now that I really enjoyed my stay!
Cons: NOTHING
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is very close to the station. and many restaurant. (Restaurants closed very fast though)
Cons: Toilet and front room should have brighter light.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service and food was Amazing. Will recommend to my friend.
Cons: None
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very nice, clean and traditional in most aspects. The staff was extremely nice, big thank you for everything and we also enjoyed the traditional hot tub too.
Cons: We booked the only possible choice at the time: room selected at check in. I was not aware this means that the staff chooses. We travelled two of us, very good friends, almost siblings, but... girl and boy. We wanted to have a traditional Japanese room with tatami floor and bedding on the floor, but what we got, without them asking or confirming what relation we have, was a single bed room. Ok, the bed was a double bed but not too big , we are quite tall and big, for us it would have been small even if we are a couple, but that way, it was even smaller, and not comfortable. I understand that it’s not as common possibly, having a girl and a guy traveling as friends but it is very natural for us, and we wanted to use the benefit of traveling together and not booking two rooms. I think this could be more thought through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff : nice and good service mind Location : great
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow. Stunning traditional Ryokan. As solo traveller I got huge discount (60 usd a night). The ryokan has own hot bath (private session free). You receive a pass to visit all other onsen and off course a yukata to walk Japanese style through the pretty village. Highly recommended! Be aware that restaurants close early...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The room was very comfortable, near the train station so very convenient. There is a private bath that guest can use with reservation. Although the staff did not speak english, we were able to communicate with google translate and they were very accommodating. Great value for the price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yukatas and hantens provided were amazing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The ryokan was a 1-2 minute walk from the train station and then a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel to the Main Street. This made getting around and to the hotel very easily. The room was extremely comfortable and relaxing and the staff were really lovely. This area and hotel was the perfect location to unwind and energise between exploring the big cities of Japan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodations were excellent and the owner/staff were very helpful especially the one woman who seemed to be well informed about everything you could imagine and went out of her way to help. Keep in mind no one really spoke English but it always worked out. The room was a traditional tatami mat floor with two beds pushed together approximating a king. One of the largest rooms I’ve had in all my travels. They have two private Onsen that you can use for free, one a traditional wooden tub, maybe 4’x8’, the other a marble tub. They will also prepare an elaborate meal in evening with 6 or so courses of excellent seafood with crab as the centerpiece. Not to be missed. You get a free pass to the other Onsen in town that you can walk to easily and there’s about half that open at 7 am and the rest 1pm or later. Go to as many as you can as they are all different. Lots of restaurants and shops in this small town but as everywhere in Japan you never know which days are their holidays until you show up. We were here for two full days and three nights. I would visit again and stay at this hotel. BTW it is a 2-3 minute walk from train station and the entire town can be navigated quite easily on foot.
Cons: It rained a lot

Pros: Lovely ryokan and really great host. Other reviewers have said the owners don’t speak English but the older lady who was there spoke English well-enough to be understood. She was really lovely and helped us work our way through all the nonsense in town as well as explaining how to put all the gear on. The room was spacious, clean, quite large and the futons one of the comfiest we’ve ever slept on. We sorted ourselves out with dinner and breakfast from the supermarket nearby and had a wonderfully relaxing overnight stay. Kinosaki is a beautiful little town and would be well worth spending more time around there - looked great for hiking!

The Morizuya is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The hotel is just 600m away from JR Kinosaki-Onsen Station. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. A pickup service can be arranged for guests upon request. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had such a terrific experience here despite not staying in Kinosaki too long. I had a horrible day prior to arriving with Morizuya due to train delays and getting there so late. Despite me arriving so late, I was still picked up personally at the station and dinner was prepared for me despite me insisting not to do so since I didn't want to be an inconvenience. The service was so lovely and the attention of the host was perfect. The room was comfortable, the food was absolutely delicious, and the location is terrific as well. I will definitely be back again, and I recommend this Ryokan to anyone desiring an amazing Japanese experience from Kinosaki.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the food is good, lovely hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at Morizuya. They exceded my expectations as staff was very welcoming and friendly. The owner of the ryokan made me feel I was part of his family. On my arrival, I was offered a tea ceremony which I really enjoyed. The owner's mum is a tea ceremony teacher who loves welcoming people. I really enjoyed talking to her and getting to know about her and Kinosaki.
Cons: There is nothing I disliked.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was superb! Breakfast is good. The owner was nice and we got to try typical Japanese tea upon arrival. Staff were very helpful and would take our luggage up to the room. Beautiful variety of kimono to choose from. Overall a good experience!
Cons: small onsen onsite, but they provide a pass to try public onsens.
7.5 Good
Pros: Convenient
Cons: We didn’t ask for any waking up call but they keep on knocking our door even open our door which we did already answered them , quite annoying other than that everything is good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food and hospitality
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think we found a bargain when we discovered this beautiful, traditional bathhouse ryokan. Most of the other places that were being scored highly were over £200 per night. However we felt that we had the full experience staying here. We were greeted on arrival, and even though we were early they looked after our luggage and told us about a few different spots for lunch we could investigate. At check in we were welcomed with a lovely tea ceremony before being able to choose kimonos and yukatas for the rest of our stay. We were also shown how to wear them properly. The room itself was large, with a lovely view and all the amenities you would expect from a modern hotel. The ryokan itself has two onsen, one indoor cave and one outdoor bath. Between 3 and 6 you can go in and lock the door to have your own private onsen experience which was one of the things we definitely wanted to do. In fact we hopped from one bath to the other in the same afternoon. When you step out of the front door, you are in the middle of the best part of Kinosaki, with the long street heading up to the cable car and the mountain on the right and the small river, the restaurants and bars on the left. It is also in the middle of the seven different public onsens so we could go out in yukata and try and find our favourite. (Which we did, but I'm not going to say as it'll be better if you go out and find your favourite yourselves!) The staff are a lovely family, very friendly and very professional. They were even kind enough to drive our bags over to where we were staying the next night, even though we were going to go to lunch after check out. They even offer to pick you up and drop you off at the station but it's only a ten minute walk through a ridiculously beautiful part of the country so we didn't really need it! If given the chance to stay here again, we would, in a heartbeat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quality food, great Japanese style service, a great experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late and the owner was there to welcome us. Took us to his house where his very elegant mother did a tea ceremony for us. The dinner that followed was amazingly good. There is a beautiful onsen in the place. They had many beautiful yukatas which we were free to use. The owner encouraged us to put on the yukatas and walk around the town to take photographs. The breakfast was also amazingly good. The owners also gave us passes to the 7 public onsens in the area. They had 2 staff who were able to speak Mandarin which made it very easy for us. Really made us feel at home. Would stay again if we are in the area.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying at Morizuya was a memorable experience! The hosts were very thoughtful and kind. The welcome tea ceremony dressed in beautiful yukata was a highlight! And we enjoyed our room which was a very comfortable place to relax and make yourself at home. The on-site Onsen was also great and the position of the ryokan in beautiful Kinosaki Onsen could not be better. I hope to revisit this wonderful place again!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: We enjoyed everything at Yamamotoya! After we got out of the JR station, there is a free bus to take you to all the onsen hotels in town and Yamamotoya is one of the stops. Two staff were waiting for us at the bus stop and helped us put our luggage in our room. A staff member helped us with check in and gave us a brief introduction to this hotel and all the hot springs in this town.Very spacious and comfortable room. We tried their own hot spring first and it was very good: clean, quiet and we were the only guests there :). We went to 3 other onsen places with the pass and they were all great. Kinosaki is one of the most comfortable, beautiful, friendly towns I have ever been and I would definitely love to recommend this place to others. And a special shout out to Miss Ma (a Chinese speaking staff) for her service!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location- walking distance from train station, clean and cozy room, friendly and helpful staff, good dinner and breakfast. It’s really a great traditional Japanese onsen experience for us, we loved it!
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Aged ryokan but clean. Staff were polite and were all in tow to greet and bid farewell. 7 minutes to JR station. Town is really small so may not need to pay for top accommodation near station. The kiseki dinner and breakfast were good.
Cons: Aged. Some repairs and upgrade would be good. Also, no explanation on the Yukata provided. We only realized there was a 2nd piece outer coat much later (for night walks perhaps cos we saw other ryokans guests wearing). Would be good to explain the dishes/meals /sequence if any. No reception after 9pm.

Caring staff with attentive service, they are truely working on every details to make sure you are happy here, they even give you advice on traveling, if you'd like to chat. Can't think any better... Pros: Hotel attendants were very patient and helpful to clarify how things worked at a Japanese onsen as well as how the town operated. They provided a wonderful set of refreshments when you arrived. Both the Onsen and the dinner was fabulous. And it was extremely helpful how this entire city operates with you being able to store the luggage in the town center while you are waiting for your train after you have checked out. Everything ran very smoothly!
Cons: I'd just suggest explaining how all the different shoes work. The hotel provides great explanation about the dress and the correct way to wear it but I didn't know which shoes to wear in the room versus to the onsen versus going out if the hotel to the public bath.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff very kind, nice room, beautiful onsen
Cons: Everything was nice
7.0 Good
Pros: This was a splurge for us on the trip. The staff were very attentive on arrival and we were brought a welcome afternoon tea in our room on arrival. Our staff stayed with us to explain how the hotel works and how to use the onsen. That was lovely. The room was wonderful and we had yukata and kimonos to wear. The hotel onsen was so beautiful and the lobby area was lovely to spend time in.
Cons: We loved everything about it. Our only feedback was that it appeared as if it was a boutique hotel but it is absolutely huge! The buffet breakfast room seated about 150 people!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent Loved that they made an effort to supply some western food at breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff and Onsen and room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful and relaxing. The atmosphere was serene.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Onsen was super nice, friendly staff
Cons: brealfast room had no charme. unfortunately, pool area was closed so that there was no possibility to enjoy the nice weather outside. dinner very expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and nice, the traditional clothing offered to wear for hotspring were of very good quality and food is awesome.
Cons: There was no power point converter
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The private onsen at the hotel open late was very nice. The room had nice view of mountain. You can walk around in your robe and have breakfast then go to onsen and not leave the property.
Cons: This is a ryokan so traditional. But didn’t like that the bed is not there during the day because sometimes I wanted to lay down or take a nap and no bed. They make it each evening and put away in morning. And there is no couch just chairs in the room. Also you need two pads to make three bed comfortable enough.

Pros: the service of the staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very attentive and helpful. Quiet and relaxing room overlooking beautiful gardens.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with reasonable price for such good services. Staff was friendly and facilities were great. Room was really comfy and clean too.
Cons: Maybe let us sleep in a bit. But it's a norm for them to serve breakfast in our room at 8.30am and treat their guests like king.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely comfortable and looked out on a lovely garden. Also the onsite hot springs ended up being my favorite in town. Each time I went there was no one else there so you could soak and relax fully in the beautiful outdoor tub.
Cons: On a cold night the room is quite drafty, and has a slight smell of smoke. The physical location is also a bit removed from town but they do have shuttle to take you in for dinner if needed. On a nice day the walk is only ten minutes or so.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food was delicious. Wonderful stay.
Cons: The pillows were too small and flat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A gorgeous ryokan with friendly staff, incredible room and beautiful onsen. Delicious Japanese breakfast too!
Cons: A little out of the center but still easy to get to/withing walking distance.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Traditional home
Cons: Not English speaking
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Located near the Onsen Temple, it's about a half hour from the station on foot. There are shuttle buses that can take you to the ryokan, likewise, the ryokan will drive you to the station when you check out. I highly recommend staying at Tokiwa Bekkan. The room we stayed in was well organized and had a nice garden view. The baths at the ryokan are heaven. The ryokan can provide a near-vegetarian breakfast (they sometimes use fish stock), but no vegetarian dinners.
Cons: No vegetarian dinner could be arranged.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful traditional Ryokan, warm welcoming, magic place with beautiful view from the bedroom on the Japanese garden, high standards, very professional team, high quality of client service, onsen very nice, traditional meals very tasty. Better to stay at least more than 2 nights because many onsens to do, nice beaches one stop away by train. A really nice town to chill and rest.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Everything was more than perfect

Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. The scenery is also very beautiful.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Dinner and Breakfast worth everything. Shuttle bus between station and hotel, and all the staff too good! Two private onsen good for couple. Love & enjoy!
Cons: As seaside and bit countryside, there are bugs beside the window.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Not much! We love the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great Location with amazing views a great place to wind down
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I've been to Japan for 4 times and this is definitely one of the best hotel experience I've ever had. Nice view, great hotel, amazing food, marvelous osen (hot spring), and what's more important, the tremendous staff and service. Although the location of the hotel is a little remote from the downtown (10 min drive), but they offer free shuttle bus to/from the JR station, which is convenient enough for most of the tourists. And compared to the experience it can offer, it definitely worth the trade. Recommend Ginka 10/10. Would definitely visit again.
Cons: Everything is just so perfect that the only thing bothers me is the Booking's Chinese translation of the name of the hotel should be "银花" but not "金卡".
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A place to relaxed!
Cons: A little away from town, but the view from room is more than making it up.
5.8 Okay
Pros: sea view
Cons: food is fair only for its price value

Pros: Really nice staff that really took care of us. Amzing facilities with private ryokans and an astonishing breakfast. Good location in town with a few minutes walk to the closest public onsen.
Cons: Didn’t have ant complaints. It’s a traditional ryokan so the building is old but thats part of the experience.

Pros: Amazing dinner. Worth paying extra for dinner served in your room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the train station. Comfortable room and nice private onsen. Wonderful Japanese traditional breakfast. We will go back again.
Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and comfortable room, amazing private Onsen and public Onsen pass.
Cons: Very little, the place was lovely and relaxing. The food was unusual for British guests and it would have been nice to know a little more about what we were eating, even just the names and order to eat on a piece of paper! We felt pressured to wear Japanese dress which could be fun if you like that kind of thing, but felt a bit inappropriate for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the staff and the facility. The location was super convenient. You will be very happy!
Cons: Check in flexibility.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and close to the station
Cons: If the other guests are loud, the walls are a little thin.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was so good -- so much food! But it didn't have coffee :( But that's okay because it was a traditional Japanese breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location ( 3 min walk from the train station) , excellent food for both dinner and breakfast , clean and we absolutely fell in love with the private onsen with the direct view on the private garden .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Yamada family has done a terrific job rehabilitating a former fire station. The architecture alone is worth five stars. I must commend the family for their welcoming attitude and attempt to meet one’s needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Private onsen, great coffee, quick check in/out process, incredible staff and very comfortable. We were so well taken care of and will be coming out here again in the future. We were even given a ride to the station when it was raining without having to ask. I love this place and expectations were exceeded in every way. I recommend this place to everyone, it was so personal and professional. My husband and I had the best time here.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a really lovely ryokan in the beautiful town of Kinosakionsen. As the name suggests, it's an annex to the original ryokan which is directly across the street. Utsutori was an old fire station which has been beautifully transformed into a ryokan, and the owners are rightly proud of it. It's very new, having only been opened in late 2018, it is in excellent condition and is exceptionally clean throughout. The staff are warm and friendly and could not have been more helpful. The European breakfast was lovely. The private onsen is very nice, but we didn't use it a lot due to the other fabulous onsen in the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly warm and hospitable staff who were really kind to our family. When it was time to leave, they even wrote us a huge card with notes from each staff and sketches of the places we had visited (all hand drawn). Location is superb, 3 of the 7 onsens are within 5 mins walk from the ryokan. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a private bath and public baths that you can use as well. All the usual amenities for ryokans in Kinosaki are provided.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Amazingly warm welcoming and hosting)) Japanese style of room put us in a historic atmosphere. Very beautiful surroundings of mountains and sea) It seems a bit far from the station but host was driving us to/from Kinosaka when we needed

Pros: Traditional Japanese Style Sento in the building. The host will shuttle you around in their van.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room are very spacious.
Cons: Mattress could be better and thicker
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are super friendly and helpful. They helped us plan the different onsen and had information about which one was open on each day. They also drove us back and forth between their hotel and Kinosakaionsen. When we had a last minute emergency they were also very accommodating!
Cons: The area closeby doesn't have anything to offer, but like I said the hosts will drive you to the onsen. There might be a lunch or dinner place across the road that the hosts recommended but we had already had other food plans.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The couple running the hotel is very friendly, they did everything possible to make our family happy. Despite the fact that the hotel is not in kinosakionsen, the owner drives the guests there and back to hotel whenever you need. Very nice people who make you feel at home.
Cons: As we are a family of 6, after setting the futons and putting the bags, not much place left.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly and quiet. So helpful in dropping off and picking up in Kinosaki Onsen. Great place to stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation near sea beach, free shuttle bus to Kinosaki Onsen, excellent breakfast, nice and helpful owner and staff, onsen..

Pros: Excellent breakfast and fantastic hosts!
Cons: Shops close early. Nothing much to do at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are super-friendly and helpful! They even gave us a hand when it came to putting on the Yukata. The breakfast was really delicious and also the room turned out to be spacious. Even if you don't speak Japanese there is absolutely no need to worry about the location since the transfer offered by the friendly owner makes it easy to get to Kinosaki. I definitely recommend staying there!

Pros: I really enjoyed my relaxation stay here, as I wished I stayed here longer! I like the fact that they have shuttle bus that transport you freely to other onsens nearby! Additionally the gesture of offering us bicycles to explore the city! The scenic of the traditional Japanese gardens and room was phenomenal! I would like to thank you the staff for making our holiday a pleasent one :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The peaceful environment in the complex is enjoyable and the dinner was delicious. Staff is very helpful. Complimentary shuttle is very convenient.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Cons: Outside the riokan, seems to be a parking but inside is much more better. Maybe planting more plants at the entrance?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and traditional
Cons: The futon could have been a little more comfortable but that could just be me being used to western beds
4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much, staff were nice?
Cons: Terrible location, but they had free shuttle service pretty much the whole time. The room I picked was terrible, but that's really my fault for not doing enough research as I spontaneously decided to visit Kinosaki. The room was horribly overpriced it's almost comical.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall it is a five stars service. Staff is very helpful. They try as much as they can to communicate and assist. The onzen in the property probably better than the public onzen in the meca route. The hotel is picturesque.
Cons: The location is a bit far from the city, they have shuttle bus, but as a foriegner it still a bit difficult to communicate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Since most of the information for this onsen is not easy to find online or is in Japanese, I'm gonna leave a more detailed review to help other travelers. We stayed for 3 nights and we got one of the Japanese style rooms on the second floor with a courtyard view. This was by far our favorite hotel in our trip. The room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious, with a hallway entrance with fridge and kettle, and a sitting area by the window. The bathroom: sink, toilet and wet room are all separate rooms and have all that you need. The futton beds were very comfortable (they put it away during breakfast and set it up during dinner). Has AC and air purifier, also a TV. The ryokan itself is not in the town center, but next to the river with has a cute small bridge. The location is actually pretty quiet and if you take the tunnel underneath the forest (it's on the main road when you walk to town, so easy to spot), you can get to the city center in 5min walk. They also have a shuttle van that you can request to drop you off and pick up from the baths/station. The ryokan is very pleasant, the courtyard is beautiful and the sitting area very cozy with free tea/coffee. The onsen has a big indoor pool and two smaller outdoor pools, very chill and most of the times I had it to myself or there was only a handful of people. The service was outstanding even if not all members of the staff speak English. We had breakfast and dinner at the ryokan and it's a good value for money, with tons of different dishes to try. Since we stayed more than 1 night, they tailored the dinner to our wishes so that we would get something new every day. Their kaiseki (May 2019) mostly focuses on seafood and Tajima beef and was very creative with several ingredients that wasn't expecting. Meals are served in a dedicated area and we had our own dinning room.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Their welcoming was incredible. We were upgraded to a large japanese room without asking for it. The bath (onsen) is very nice and the whole place is very tastefully decorated. We strolled through Kinosaki at night and it was a wonderful sight, with all the nice lanterns along the canal
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Top Location, Top Service. Japanese Feeling in Yuakata at famous Onsen Hotspots.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing was amazing.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Kindness of the staff and beautiful onsen
