6.7 Good
Pros: The Onsens were great and the hotel's view was stunning. Throughout the hotel there's some nice shops of food and gifts. The room was also good.
Cons: First the staff were unable to speak English well and therefore I could not communicate with them about things in my stay. I'll mention that their attitude was respectful but unfortunately their English understanding was horrible. The prices of the dinner and the breakfast was so expensive, therefore I bought some food from their small supermarket shop in the hotel so that was very disappointing. The smell of the room was discussing but it makes sense because this smell came from the onsens.
7.5 Good
Pros: location, hot spring
Cons: I did not find a free electrical outlet in the room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Value for money. They offer free bus ride to and from Karuizawa station. Location. It has a very fantastic view of the mountains. Response. They answer questions/inquiries in emails fast. Onsen. Nothings beats the outdoor onsen here. Memorable!
Cons: The interiors really need an upgrade.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Japanese style non smoking rooms and it was great! Onsens, scenery and snowboarding was amazing, which is what we came to Gunma for.
Cons: Building may seem a little old but super clean, comfortable and great place to stay. Just a heads up: the place is quite remote so there isn't really many options for food besides at the hotel. I only stayed for one night so this was no issue. Definitely can recommend this place though!! Had an amazing time here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely stay up, staff are super nice and helpful.
Cons: A little old fashioned and could be abit cleaner
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A great and big outside hot spring!
Cons: Too far from the Tokyo City!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the mixed onsen was great (for anyone nervous about this, they have towels or special dresses and shorts to purchase for wearing). The restaurants were great and the staff were friendly.
Cons: Unfortunately the snow was average but we were there in spring and that’s just the luck of the draw.
6.7 Good
Pros: The Onsens are nice especially the outdoor ones.
Cons: More shuttle bus to Karuizawa would be nice. Eg one leaving from Hotel to Karuizawa in the morning e.g. 10am and one coming back at 4pm.

Cons: none
6.3 Good
Pros: The onsen was really nice.
Cons: The service isn't up to a 4 star hotel, holes in the bed sheets, stinky toilet, average food served in plastic trays with divisions, like in a canteen.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location (Kids Toy Kingdom, several parks etc) Nice pool area.
Cons: We didn't book dinner when making the reservation as we wanted to decide at the hotel which restaurant to book for dinner. We were told that the whole weekend is booked out and because restaurants closeby were fully booked for the above reason, we had to stay in with our little kids and have cup ramen for two evenings.

8.0 Excellent
Cons: i dont think the dinner buffet is a good value for the money
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the onsens here- outdoor one was for men and women together so it was an interesting experience. You have to try their Soymilk corn soup during breakfast..
Cons: Beds were a bit hard.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: ONSENs and the staffs were amazing very lovely. This is really an onsen place, and I love it!
Cons: Dinner Buffet was quite overpriced, even it is not that bad but 4000 yen is too much for the variety and the quality plus the dinner time is quite difficult to follow since the period is very short. The convinient store closes too early. The bus to Karuizawa is not very often. Only 2 times at 1100am and 3pm are very difficult to manage during long weekends.

7.0 Good
Pros: We enjoyed the onsen experience. It is available 24 hours a day (except a specific hour when they clean it). They have a fantastic outdoor open air bath. We also booked a private onsen for a reasonable price, it was a bit old but we liked it. There is a free shuttle bus from Manza Onsen bus terminal to the hotel. We didn't know that before arriving there and we thought we had to walk for 15 min to get to the hotel. It was a great surprise even thought we would have appreaciated it if they gave us the information earlier. They gave us a schedule of the shuttle bus at the hotel. The schedule specified that the only time for returning to the bus terminal was at 8:35, however, we saw a shuttle arriving at the bus terminal later that day. The bus also can take you to the ski resort, which is a 10 min walk from the hotel. The English speaking staff was very kind, explained everything and answered all our questions. They even gave us a number to contact them if we had more questions. The room provided yukatas and slipers to use around the hotel. We found papers in the pokets of the jackets so we don't know if they were washed. The restaurant has a free buffet but you have to pay for the drinks (except water or tea and juice for breakfast). The staff is constantly refilling the food so you can try everything. Most of the dishes are japanese and it is quite diverse. There was a riffle and a dance performance which made the evenings less boring. There were a lot of families with kids.
Cons: There is a semi-open air bath which we wanted to try but when we got there only the closed part of the onsen was available even though we were not on the cleaning hours, the door for the semi-open air bath was closed. The staff at the restaurant gives you a card with your room number on it so you can leave it on the table while you get the food. When you finish you flip the card so the staff knows. We got up from our table to get more food and when we came back to the table the staff had already taken everything even though we didn't flip the card, so we had to ask them for a new card and look for another table to sit since there was already a couple on our first table. Since then, we picked turns to get more food. The builing is not new. We got a room in the newest building but had to walk a lot to get there. When we entered the room for the first time, the air conditioning was on and the room was very hot. We had to take all of our clothes. We turned it off and never had to turn it on again. We wanted to speak a little bit in Japanese with the staff at the reception but they insisted to wait for the English speaking staff.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean Onsen. Can highly recommend it for having a relaxing weekend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff were very welcoming, the buffet was great, I loved the onsen, and the rooms were really clean!
Cons: A little far from the station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle bus was provided from and to Tokyo, bus driver was polite and driving safely through the mountainous road, spoiled by number of choices for Onsen (outdoor with snow is the best!!), not many foreign travelers, really friendly staff (some can speak English and provided us the greatest hospitality), buffet spread was good and yummy, really comfortable and clean room with good view.
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The only thing that wasnt absolutely perfect was the wifi, which was a bit intermittent in our room, but did not impact our stay at all!
Cons: Absolutely incredible stay!! The staff, onsen, and food was amazing. Very spacious, comfortable room with stunning views! We loved every second and cant wait to come back again.

Cons: Only 1 ski lift was operating on a very small slope. This is unacceptable given that it is a 'ski resort' and the hotel indicated that Ski season had begun. A waste of our time. We wanted to cancel our stay and leave but the hotel refused.

Pros: I love the ambiance from our cottage, it’s so relaxing. I got 2 kids and they are too loud but im glad that i dont have to scold them while playing because most of the people who stayed in the hotel are just like us.
Cons: I really dont like that i have to pay for the bathhouse.
7.1 Good
Pros: People wee friendly
Cons: No washlet in toilet
4.6 Okay
Pros: I would hope the rooms and amenities were more cleaner... and least let each rooms have bath towels. Nets on the window were a mess needs to be fix...the prices isn’t cheap at all. Other than my personal opinion,I like the surroundings it was quiet and we could go for a short jugging inside forest..the interior needs more cleaning attention, otherwise it was a very nice hotel. If the interior cleaning occurred,I will very much like to stay there again Thank you
Cons: Amenities Sofa was too dirty, bathroom smells bad, mosquitos and bugs protected net was a mess.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is able to speak English, the shuttle service bringing us to the nearest bus station, the small Konbini.
Cons: The price of the dinner is too expensive. The Onsen price is not included in the room.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Place and staff
Cons: Too old , no air conditioner
7.5 Good
Pros: For a family getaway, the location is great! The place is quiet, serene.
Cons: Some young staffs seems to be annoyed when asked about some advices about recommendable locations especially on a sunny day. The wifi signal was terrible. (It’s not Bout the type of phone but the strength of the router, I suppose).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was wonderful-equal to the other best food ryokan in our seven weeks of travel in Japan. Dinners and breakfasts were sophisticated, flavourful and beautiful in their presentation. The owner was warm and lovely and although not speaking much English, managed to communicate effectively. The futon bed was comfortable. Our room was lovely with fresh flowers, a private, wonderful onsen and a separate annex area for storage, a toilet and a second basin area. There was incredible attention to detail in everything. We thought that the cost was very reasonable given the luxury and quality of the food. For me, it was a destination quality experience.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect
