10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the setting in the rooms was very pleasant. The facilities were very good in terms of an excellent swimming pool, well maintained, and the grounds were good to walk in. The Gite had an area outside where we could sit and eat with a table and chairs provided, and a kitchenette inside with all that was necessary provided. There was a town nearby where we could shop in the supermarket and also places to eat if required. The room was very comfortable and the WiFi worked OK.
Cons: We were very happy and pleased with our stay here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There is a special kind of category for hotels like this. Five star doesn’t give it justice! An amazing home where you will be welcomed by the most humble of gentleman. The house and grounds are immaculate and specially generous. We especially liked the cheese and cold meats in the evening while looking over the grounds. We will be back for sure.
Cons: Nothing at all. All excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an amazing property. Exceeded our expectations by far!! Gorgeous grounds, pool--quiet, comfortable, historic. A castle! The owners consider every detail and have impeccable taste. The breakfast in the former castle kitchen, the oldest part of the castle was beautiful and delicious. Easy access to all the castles near Tours in the Loire Valley.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely location with modern amenities and well thought out design. A welcoming and personal greeting from the owners makes you feel quite relaxed on arrival. Beautiful grounds and building and a stunning pool that sits on the edge of the gardens surrounded by trees. we stayed in the outhouses which are fresh and clean and have their own little patio area - recommend the breakfast confiture of melon - delicious and homemade, as was the honey with their makers, the bees, at the end of the garden. Will return!

Pros: Great breakfast with a wide selection of food. The hosts are doing there utmost best to make sure you have a good stay. Friendly people who run this B&B with love. Definitely stay here when you want a comfortable and good stay in "De Loire" region. Thank you for the good memories.
Cons: Our room was close to the kitchen so in the morning you could hear some noise. For us not really a problem as we woke up anyway. Had an A/C unit but was not build in. So on warm days you need to keep the window open to let the warm air out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The welcome from the staff was fantastic. They all went out of their way to make our stay an excellent experience. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked and well presented in a casual atmosphere.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about Les Mazeraies maison d'hotes. The house is beautifully decorated, with a large green space. Our room was very spacious, bright and clean, with a large and comfy bed. The breakfast was rich and tasty. We were also 100%spoiled with delicious dinners cooked on the spot. Jacques, the host, and his team were amazing. Jacques gave us a lot of useful tips. We had just a few days to spend on the Loire Valley and a lot of castles to see. We definetly would like to return to this place. Thank you, Jacques, for your hospitality!

Pros: Really clean, big room - easy parking Great staff, hospitality superb My wife is a Coeliac and cannot eat wheat, they actually made gluten free cakes and bought in the best gluten free bread she has ever had - brilliant
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely charming hosts and wonderful, spacious rooms all in a beautiful setting. Lovely decor throughout the hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was a good size, with separate lounge. Nice large bed. Balcony that over looked the grounds. There was a spa (whirlpool)room available but unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to use. Private dinner area which again overlooked the garden. Very enjoyable 4 course dinner (no menu) with wine in the late evening sunshine. Continental breakfast served to us, not a buffet but plenty available....too much for us. No bother for chef to cook some eggs.
Cons: Just a couple of minor issues for us, no built in air con, although a portable unit was in the room which meant you had to have the balcony door open for the vent pipe. It was quite sticky over night. The bed was quite firm for our liking and fortunately we brought our own pillows as the cushions provided would not be comfortable for us. I believe this is usually in French hotels but no tea/coffee making facilities in the room although there was an area off the ground floor with these facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a little place of complete heaven.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and comfortable accommodation, nice bed, private terrace to sit in sun, large garden to wander around. Shared sitting room with free kettle for coffee and use of fridge. The breakfast was first class, including choice of eggs.
Cons: Aircon was a mobile unit with a hose to poke through the doors.

Pros: The setting of the Les Machetieres is truly relaxing & quiet. A farm with guest rooms surrounded by a forest & graced with horses, poultry , a pond and beautiful country setting. The hosts go out of their way to insure your comfort. They prepared a dinner meal for me & other guests as well. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with homemade jam, locally produced apple juice, great coffee & service . The room I reserved is on the first floor. It has been refurbished with a modern bathroom, shower & outstanding sleeping room. I highly recommend this room !! If are in the area don't pass up this opportunity....

Pros: A exceptional welcome from Amelie and a superb evening meal provided.A very calm and quiet rural setting but not far from the nearest town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived there, the owner greeted us with a drink and a warm hospitality. It was a first time for us to stay in the chambre d’hôtes. It was a great experience. We will do it again. The room was decorated with a great taste with all the modern facilities. What a great experience to spend a day in the farm house with animals around in a vast countryside. It was so nice to meet a wild boar named “Tonic”, played with a ball. The breakfast was great also. Thank you so much .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive catered for our needs
7.5 Good
Pros: Very warm welcome and a quite good breakfast (not only for France ...),
Cons: Maybe not the right place for a one-night-stop at late December; I don't know why, but I had the idea in mind, that the rooms belong to a restaurant and when we arrived in the evening after eight, I had the hope to get some type of diner there, but we didn't, so we had to go back to (at this time of the year) "poor" Langeais ...

Pros: Let us check in early. Manager spoke excellent English. Gave us a spacious room.
Cons: Staff was a little confused about best time. Said 8, too late for us, so we went out and had bad bfst, only to find out they had started serving at 7.

Pros: Bruno and Xavier were very welcoming and helpful. They recommended very nice restaurants and things to do in and around town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property is fantastic, Bruno was generous to myself my wife, my mother and my two mutts. He gave us a fantastic recommendation for Seville. The recommendations for the restaurants he gave us in the town were fantastic and you really feel like he is azay la rideau. I can’t wait for next year!
Cons: Not a thing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, old feel with modern facilities, located right in the centre but when in the courtyard you are away from everything. Excellent choice in a lovely town.
Cons: Not the hotels fault but like many towns of this type the parking is some distance (but it does mean low traffic in the centre) You can pull up outside to drop bags.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners everyday commit to excellent service and accommodation comfort. Divine beds and bedding, gorgeous spaces to dine and just rest and thoughtful recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing that are more sophisticated than the usual fare. I very much doubt any negative reviews are genuine and would recommend this delightful hotel only metres from the chateau to anyone wanting an intimate and friendly place to rest. I rarely review these days - it must be exceptionally good or awful. This is the former.
Cons: Air conditioning would be a bonus but it is rare to find in France. We were given a good fan which facilitated a sound sleep.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location - just short stroll down the road - for visiting beautiful Azay-le-Rideau chateau, helpful staff gave directions and blue disc for nearby parking, fabulous little restaurant along the road (on the left just before the chateau) recommended by reception who also rang to reserve a table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Couldn’t have been better, delicious breakfast, location and amazing host.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and helpful staff. Two great meals in restaurants under a minute away
Cons: Initial parking confusion but soon sorted

Cons: Nothing :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, breakfast and host helpful and welcoming. Cycle route on door step.
Cons: Small sink to wash up any microwaved meals would have been nice to appreciate lovely surroundings, as restaurants are not that nearby and can close early.

Cons: Nothing needs improving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The location is great, 3 minutes walk to the castle and in a perfect quiet place, the rooms, the facilities and especially the staff. Extremely friendly and willing to help you with anything. This was a great choice for us and we are definitely coming back here.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, attentive staff who took pride in their attention to detail - and the food!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location friendly and helpful staff the rooms were superb, with air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just the right blend of old and new. Very comfortable with modern bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Loved it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Only stayed for one night as was on a motorcycle tour. The staff were excellent and offered us secure garaged parking for motorcycles. Minor detail for many but made the difference for us. First visit to area but would certainly re-visit for a closer look at surrounding town/area.
Cons: Property better internally than it appears to be externally. Pleasantly surprised as didn’t have high expectations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location within the town and for using as a base for touring the Loire, extremely knowledgeable front desk, on site car park (some spaces undercover), quiet spacious room, ability to make tea & coffee in room, eating area in room, lift in building.
Cons: Didn't like is a little harsh - but room for improvement - 1. why no cups, just takeaway containers for tea/coffee - 2. The plastic glasses in the bathroom are too light to hold a toothbrush/toothpaste/brush, they just topple over. - 3. No where is shower to put your own soap/shower gel/shampoo/conditioner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has been renovated from an old horse changing station, where travelers would have changed horses or spent the night. We like that you can still imagine that past within the hotel; it isn't hidden and it adds charm and character. Everything was clean, the rooms seem to be named after Loire chateaux (we were in the Amboise room, which was beautiful), the staff were absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We had the breakfast buffet, which we thought was very good: ham, choice of cheeses, yogurt, fruit (fresh and dried), croissants and baguette as well as assorted pastries, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee with warmed milk, juice...all plentiful and delicious. We would happily stay here again; it is a good base for exploring the area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Plus it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Azay-le-Rideau chateau, which is not to be missed. We felt welcomed and very comfortable here. Recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice, the room was comfortable and beautiful and the place is very nice

Pros: Beautiful and comfy, perfect for 1 night stopover
La Fleur De Lys - Les Essards - Building
8
9.4 Excellent (421 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Fleur de Lys, you'll be centrally located in Langeais, within a 10-minute drive of Chateau de Villandry and Chateau de Langeais. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hostesses - mother and daughter are great, and tried to make our stay pleasant and were very helpful. Only daughter speaks English, but they have tried their best! The location is very good for visiting Loire Valley. Our room at the top floor was very spacious, with a view to the castle and the garden on one side and the main street on the other. Although the building is an old one, the rooms are renovated and nice. Typical French breakfast, with some yellow cheeses and lots of jams - for those who like it.
Cons: In our room on the top floor, the bathroom and the toilet (together) didn't have a door, so it was not convenient, since there were 3 of us, and the second room was on the other side of the bathroom. The only closet was between the rooms, opposite the open bathroom, it was also not convenient, we ended up not using it and the clothes were around the room... There is no air-conditioner, and since we caught heat wave in France, it was hot in the room in the afternoon and evening. Fan was provided and helped. For those from Israel who love salad for breakfast - don't expect it, no vegetables or white cheese are served. It is usual for France, so not surprising.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The attitude and kindness of all the staff - first class!
Cons: Only one chair and a tiny table in the bedroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing all was great

Pros: Really beautiful guesthouse and super friendly owner. The breakfast was just delicious with local products and a very large choice (e.g. croissant, crepes, cheese, muesli). The room were decorated with taste and super clean, the beds and linen were very comfortable, the family room had a lovely garden view. The guest house is really close from the castle and there are free parking space in front of the house. They are also very well equipped for little kids (e.g. high chair, baby cot). We had a great stay and can really recommend.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect! Thanks!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay The accommodation is spotless , well appointed and the breakfast, and the obvious pride taken in the breakfast by the hostess were delightful
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed & breakfast type. Historic building, very clean, partly new rooms. Very nice staff. Great breakfast. Just around the corner from the castle. Great wine shop nearby.
Cons: By nature of converting a historic building with formerly large rooms into a floor with separate and smaller guest rooms comes some noise from the neighbors ... Also, air condition would be great in those hot French summers.

Pros: A lovely chateau, set in stunning grounds, a unique experience for us. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home.
Cons: Only one minor complaint. The option to be able to heat the bedroom would have been a bonus. At the end of a long motorcycle ride, starting out in poor weather heating would have been a benefit. But that's it, nothing else, all superb and perfect.

Pros: Homey atmosphere Simple but very lovely breakfast Foosball in the common room Very quiet
Cons: Nothing :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was met by Nathalie and the check-in process and welcome to the hotel is seamless. This is really a very nice boutique hotel. Nathalie has gone to a great deal of effort into making the place what it is. The attention to detail that she has put in is second to none! The room was perfect, the bed is comfortable and there is a flat screen TV. The ensuite bathroom/toilet was perfect. The décor throughout this hotel is idyllic. Everything feels clean and well maintained. The room was a little tight on space but actually sufficient for me. I was traveling alone. Maybe other rooms are slightly larger. Breakfast is entirely substantial. A very nice selection including orange juice, fresh fruits nuts and various breads and jams with endless coffee. All laid out with incredible detail in a really nice bright breakfast room. I like an egg for breakfast, maybe Nathalie might consider offering one for future guests. I think there is limited parking at the hotel, but there is also plenty of free parking on the adjacent street with not a long walk to the hotel. Location-wise, I walked into Tours. About a 30 minute fast paced walk for me but that helped with my step-count! Maybe a bit far for some with youngsters. There is a bus rout (number 10 I think) and a train station very nearby. Tours is beautiful and will be worth the visit no matter how long your stay will be. Advise you don't drive into Tours.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome from Nathalie, who checked beforehand when we would arrive. Close to the railway station for an early start in the morning.
Cons: Nowhere to eat close by, but it was easy to get a bus or train into Tours where there was lots of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a hotel close to the St. Pierre des Corps train station. We always like to stay in interesting places, as opposed to generic hotel--and this was entirely charming.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location to visit Tours, Le Skippy restaurant located across road from B&B was perfect, nice food, very helpful staff. B&B interiors were 'Works of Art', host very welcoming.
Cons: Unfortunately, we felt the continental breakfast was a little limited, although presentation was amazing, warm toast/ Croissants as an option would have been a good choice, plus a selection of fruit not a chosen choice of one particular fruit. Plus, maybe an option of eggs on toast. But I guess this will all depend on demand! Just a thought! Still enjoyed our stay and would return regardless of breakfast option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: what a fantastic place décor staff helpfulness top marks

Pros: No milk for tea or coffee, breakfast was plonked on the table, only hard chibbatta nread that was too big for toaster.Orange juice never filled half the glass
Cons: Breakfast was cheap and little no continental cheese or ham

Pros: The host, breakfast and facilities were all excellent.
Cons: There was very little phone coverage and the WiFi was extremely weak. Not the fault of the owner I suspect, but rather the location.

Pros: great reception from hostess Cristina. inside parking. nice room and bathroom facilities. fine B&B in quiet area.
Cons: pity no t.v.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly helpful owners, who were able to offer advise regarding local events, places of interest, restaurants etc. The breakfasts were excellent and Christina varied the choices available. The best cup of tea in France!! The bedroom was tastefully furnished and the bathroom was superb, everything was spotlessly clean.
Cons: The traffic was a little noisy early in the morning but other than that everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated room and very nice host! We arrived late but communicated it in advance and it was not a problem. Safe place for parking a car. We were so happy to find this nice spot!
Cons: Everything was great!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A convenient, comfortable and cosy place to stay easily accessible by car and just thirty minutes walk from Place Plumereau and its many restaurants. You'll get a warm, friendly welcome and enjoyable breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very warm friendly welcome from Christina who was extremely helpful during our 2 night stay. Secure parking. A nice spacious room with a great bathroom and shower. Perfect location within walking distance (about 25 mins) of the Loire river and Tours city.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay outside of Tours just a 5 minutes drive to a great town full of life......................................
10.0 Excellent
Pros: exceeded all my expectations. excellent place for a stopover.
7.5 Good
Pros: • Excellent bathroom and toilet • All area is very clean • Kind and attentive villa’s hostess • Free safe private parking (though there is plenty of free public parking around) • The area around is rather quite • Excellent WiFi speed
Cons: All my remarks below do not represent a criticism but rather my poor initial attention to the description of the available facilities of the “La Tour de Saint-Cyr” at the Booking.com site. • It is just B&B offer, though not a cheap one. • TV is not there (which is not a major problem if you stay there for just couple of days), neither there is a small fridge (which is more important in my view). During the week that we stayed there (22-27 July) the daily temperature was running up to +35°. In our days this simple facility (small fridge) is generally available even in a cheaper places. • Very stylish, but not very practical furnishing. • This accommodation is rather far away from the important attractions in Tours. Walking distance to the regular public transport (tram and bus) is almost 2 kms. • To stay in this place and use it as a base for the tour around Loire Valley Castles one needs to have a car. • This accommodation is still quite fine, but, in my opinion, it is adequate for maximum 1-2 nights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay! The guest room was spotless, spacious (the bathroom was huge!), and appeared to be brand new with a separate entrance. Cristina's house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, but is a short walk (~2km) to historic Tours. Breakfast included a lovely selection of breads, croissants, and pastries with fresh fruit and coffee/tea.
Cons: Honestly, we were thrilled with our stay and the only small inconvenience is that my partner is rather tall and the bed (most beds!) was a bit short given the foot board.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, walking distance to Tours centre. Comfortable and clean and very good continental breakfast with delicious home made madeleines. A beautiful home.

5.5 Okay
Pros: The 2 young women who looked after us during our stay were friendly helpful and attentive Free parking
Cons: We were staying in a superior room which seemed an overstatement of the actual facilities we’re glad we weren’t in a standard room!!! Not really value for money compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in on this holiday that were in the same price range.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, secluded and quiet, only 10 minute walk away from the city centre to get to the bars and restaurants. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Very good value for money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were impressed by professional attitude of the host Pascal, who gave us useful information about Tours and surroundings. We had really appreciated the location (few minute walk to the city centre) and private parking place. Breakfast was generous and delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and team at Castle Fleurie were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. The owner even chilled my water for me so I could have cool water for the onward journey. On arrival the owner made sure we were provided with a map and guidance over the city and the surrounding area - really helpful!
Cons: The only thing I would prefer is slightly larger bath towels - but, that said the towels we were provided were clean and fresh, so not a problem.

Pros: Loved the friendliness of the owner Bruno
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very homey and comfortable place, so quiet all you hear are the birds outside your bedroom window. The owners are super nice and helpful. Breakfast was delightful and we enjoyed meeting the other guests staying there.
Cons: Quite a few stairs to climb to our 3rd floor bedroom, but the château was full and we booked at the last minute. The room was very comfortable and it was pleasant to leave the window open at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: French breakfast excellent. Quiet place. Close to famous castles. Very friendly owner.
Cons: Maybe small table in the room would be useful.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel Colbert Tours, you'll be centrally located in Tours, just a 4-minute walk from Tours Cathedral and 8 minutes by foot from Vinci International Convention Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, plum in the middle of town in a pedestrian only street. Short term vehicular access for offloading no problem. All amenities and visitor attractions within easy walking distance. Rated 2-star but our room was more than adequate for a short stopover with interesting decor. No a/c but the room was cool enough even though hot outside. Breakfast pretty good for the price. The owner/manager very helpful. Parking in a nearby underground carpark (400m away) at a heavily subsidised price worked well.
Cons: Nothing really, however, on a practical note, probably not the most suitable for someone with a disability.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic but very comfortable and secure. Personable owner who spoke excellent English. Good location on pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants.
Cons: No parking onsite, and nearby area is quite congested. For older guests, and those with limited mobility, the lack of an elevator could be a problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I and my wife have been here during our Summer 2018 Normandy’s tour. The rate was fair considering the quality of the service. The location is really good in the real center of the town. When we get closer we have to drive through an almost pedestrian area (cars allowed at 20 maximum speed) The private parking is not available but this hotel has a agreement with a big parking lot nearby, thus no really problem for the car The room was really great: I loved it! Nice, big, clean and with a strong worthy. I would definitively suggest this place to any traveler going to Tours
Cons: One single problem: noise during the night. With closed windows no any problem (they can well isolate the room). But we have been here during August and the room was quite hot. During the night was needed to open the window (no air condition) unfortunately in this hotel is a very busy area with many bars, pubs, etc. It was so noisy with people talking, singing, and shouting till late night and also morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Colbert is a very nice hidden treasure as it is recently renovated. It had the perfect location, close to the popular bars and restaurants as well as shopping area. At a short distance of the Loire for a nice morning or evening walk. The owners were very friendly people and were flexible to keep our luggage until the afternoon in a separate storage room. Also the breakfast was good value for money. We'll come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness,breakfast,room and location
Cons: Not a big issue but underground parking is about 400m away but is free and easy to walk to hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful personnel. Clean and cosy room, larger than we expected. Breakfast good compared to french standard !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very modern and beautifully decorated. We even had USB outlets in the room, a very nice touch. The manager was friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast in the garden was a pleasant experience. This family run hotel really takes good care of their guests. I could not have been happier.
Cons: Access to the garden in the evening wasn't allowed.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of our hosts. The suite we stayed in was large and very modern French ambience. Our large bathroom had his/hers sinks. The heated pool
Cons: No menu at breakfast table for hot meals, (which were served on request). The noise from the many dogs, in particular the big dogs who came up too close to the hedge separating our patio from their compound.

A l'Ombre d'Azay - Azay-le-Rideau - Building
18
9.2 Excellent (86 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in Comfort Double Room - big room with additional entrance from the garden side, nice furniture, comfortable bed. Garden is quite nice as well and could be good place to relax after full day of chateau visiting (we were at rainy week, unfortunately, and could not enjoy it). Breakfast is classical "French breakfast" - bread, butter, croissants and other pastries and big choice of very tasty local jams. Host - Mauris is very kind and gave us lot of useful advises about local sights. Special thanks for recommendation to visit Château de l'Islette, which is real gem! Also note, that you should keep entrance tickets after visiting 1st chateau to get discount for visiting all other chateaus in that region. The hotel is located in very center of Azay-le-Rideau but very quiet. Walking distance to Chateau and restaurants - 3-5 min. Location is perfect for visiting many other chateaus in this region. There is free parking for 3-4 cars just on the territory of the hotel.
Cons: Bathroom design could be issue for couples with big childrens as there is no door between the room and shower. (Toilet is separated by door)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Easy to walk into town. Hostess was helpful with restaurant suggestions. The shower is beautiful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet off street room. Bicycles safely stored. Close to restaurants.
Cons: Free standing bath with hand held shower rose was not easy to use - bathroom was flooded. No TV as we were staying during the Tour de France . (Maybe we should have checked the facilities before booking)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Interesting extended and renovated building on sloping land once a vineyard, now a beautiful garden. Our 1st floor room had an extra door which gave direct access to the garden. Original dwellings were caves, partly incorporated into the house. Friendly and informative owner who presides at the breakfast table to look after her guests and provide helpful tips on which restaurants are good and which to avoid! We stayed two nights on way back from south and had restful day taking in a couple of chateaux. The gem of a chateau at Azay-le-Rideau is a short walk away.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Well positioned in the lovely village of Azay le Rideau. Hostess very knowledgeable about the area.
Cons: Hostess was very protective of the French language and would have preferred everyone to speak French.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place has an wonderful garden. It is in a great location both for visiting the Loire Valley and the village. The host has some very good information about Loire Valley and it worths taking them into account. Also, she has very good recommandations about places to eat. The bed was very comfortable. The french breakfast was great and the lady very supportive with our late sleeper toddler and allowed us to have breakfast even at 11.
Cons: My room had no bathroom door. It was beautiful, designish and modern, but when real necessities appear it is not the best option. Also, there is no shower cream. Bring your own (it only has a small soap for hand washing). After 4 days there were some tiny spots of dust in the corners.
9.5 Excellent
Cons: It was hot in the city so therefore it was hot in the room. A fan would have been helpful since there was no AC
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was very welcoming, charming, helpful and made our stay special. Lovely garden and excellent room. Excellent location.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: the manager was very nice and helpful told us about the best resturants which proved to be one of the best dining experinces in france

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality from Camel, the guy in charge of everything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, nice guests... a pity we couldn’t stay longer and enjoy all the facilities. Feels like we were in a real Riad. And it smells just like there!
Cons: It’s a bit far from the center of Tours. You have to take the car to visit the city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed rooms, very friendly and welcoming hosts - literally nothing too much trouble. A very relaxing place to stay, felt like a haven of peace. Hot tub and steam room facilities available at an additional cost. The host made a veritable spread for breakfast for all of our party - totally spoilt for choice and it was yummy :)
Cons: Location was a taxi ride into the centre, not too expensive though - about 9 or 10 euros
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the room was considerably larger than most rooms you'll find in Tours, and access to the property was very convenient. Since it's located very close to the city center, we were able to walk there every night and also didn't have any trouble driving out of the city to go tour the chateaux. I also had to pick up a package from a town about 20 minutes away from Tours which had tried getting delivered unsuccessfully while I wasn't in the property yet, so they called and made sure they held the package at the carrier's facility which was really nice of them.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was so pleasantly surprised.. honestly; when I stopped in front of the hotel, I was about to look for another place to stay. But once inside, I felt like a North African King. Like as in a Ryad. Very nice
Cons: have to admit: the location and the parking facilities (although I was very lucky to have found a spot right in front of the door, never left the spot, walked in stead.
7.5 Good
Pros: The decor is gorgeous, just like being in Algeria etc. The bed was comfy. The massage was amazing!
Cons: Location was a little far away from any sights if you didn't have a car. Also breakfast is not always available and dinner never available despite it being advertised on the website and actually in the rooms still!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This guesthouse was a lovely break from the norm. Plenty of free street parking available in this residential area. The staff were wonderful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The element of surprise ( outside not promising)
Cons: Location
6.8 Good
Pros: The room (deluxe double with bath and balcony) was beautifully decorated and spacious, fitting according to the theme. Staff was friendly. It has great potential once the facilities and housekeeping issues are sorted out.
Cons: One side of the balcony door could not open while one side of the window could not lock. The TV didn't work (Netflix promised but TV couldn't even connect once turned on). "Free toiletries" were promised but only one small (20ml?) container of an unlabeled liquid (soap/shampoo?) was provided. There was no air conditioning so our room was stifling hot (a noisy fan was provided). The room and house was not cleaned throughout our 3 nights' stay so rubbish in the kitchen from previous guests and our stay was left full to the brim. Old items were also left in the communal fridge. New linen was possible if we had called the host. The jacuzzi was not included in the price and its charge is 15 euros per person per 30 minutes, but the host needs to be present during use as "things could/do go wrong with it"......
