The grounds were gorgeous. The hot tub was relaxing and romantic. The accommodations were comfortable and homelike. The breakfast of nutbread tropical fruit and juice was delicious. But the best thing about our stay was how much the hosts Garret and Sandy went out of their way to help us. All their recommendations regarding places to eat and things to do were spot on. They even went so far as to set up a special wifi connection so we could stream a movie in our cottage. Super excellent. No complaints.
The location near Vocano National Park is great. The room and breakfast were good with a very nice common area. No.
Very close to the volcano park. Hotel Employee was a very helpful host. The house made our trip feel like we were staying with family.
place was nice until...(see cons) Watch out for the paranoid, super-sensitive owner who claimed we smoked in the place...which we did NOT do...1 person smoked outside and didn't want to throw the butts on the ground so brought them in, put them under water, and then into the trash can. Owner claimed the smoke smell was so horrific that she had to wash everything in the place, including the curtains...and that the next night's renters refused to rent when they walked in so she lost rent...how can that be since we hadn't been gone very long and checkin isn't until 3:00PM and by 12:30 the owner had slapped our card with a $200 cleaning fee! She said the bathroom reeked, but the butts were placed in the trash near the front door. I am allergic to cigarette smoke, but had no reaction to any smoke inside because there was NONE.
The location to volcanoes national park is excellent Free parking and internet are included A wonderful continental breakfast is included for your stay. Bathroom is large and clean. The carpet is old, stained and does not appear to be cleaned. Could feel the springs of the bed at night. Television only played one channel on a loop Limited arrival information.
The location The humidity
I liked the private entrances, the hosts were very informative and gave great recommendations of what to see while on the island. The lava tube tour was really cool! It was amazing to have something like that in your backyard! Everything was great.
Amazing hosts and proximity to the volcano! Staying here is a must - I wish we could have stayed longer! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful place. It's in the 'country' so there are no neighbors to worry about! And it is gated!!! The house is literally at the end of the road (which I did like because it is away from crowded cities) but the maps stopped before the road did. You have to drive all the way down a tiny one lane road. A little creepy at night.
Beautiful house in the middle of a fern forest. Very clean and quiet. It is at the end of the road, but not so far from the main road. Very nice hostess.
The location in Volcano was perfect. The owner welcomed us, had great suggestions, and was very friendly. Overall very warm and accommodating.

This B and B was run by a very pleasant couple who were knowledgeable about local area and helpful in making recommendations about what to do and see. Breakfast was pretty basic: fruit and toast and drink.
Good room quality and hosting. None
Great room, friendly staff - Dan and Nikki were very kind and efficient. Breakfast portions were just right. Quick access to the park.( Also, Ohelo's restaurant right down the street was great for lunch and dinner.) Wish the driveway were better. We almost didn't want to drive in at first, but once you're in front of the house it's beautiful.
It was very cute, homey, great ambience, nice rooms, nice landscaping and a working farm with a variety of animals. Great place for a romantic getaway, family vacation or business. No complaints at all. I hope to stay there again. One minor drawback is it's 24 miles from Hilo but on the positive side very close to the volcano, sights and parks!
Price was good and reservation worked well. Old house has rustic charm. Requested the highest room available and was given the basement with the noisy stairs cutting through the room right over the bed, even though many other rooms were available in the house. Was not expecting shared bathrooms.
Beautifully designed and themed hotel, great breakfast, lovely jacussi!
We came here for the location and left dissapointed at the lack of privacy and the unexpected shared bathroom. We booked with Chateau Kilauea, but were instead given a room at Volcano Hale which is a huge house with rentable rooms and shared common areas/bathrooms. The strict check in window of 3-5pm is also annoying. This place did have good cleanliness going for it, but we still were sharing a pot with non-flushers and stinky pee-ers. My recommendation: Be prepared to take your chances or stay elsewhere... Inflexible check in policy Shared bathrooms Thin walls Lack of privacy
